Eddie Munson's message as a character should never have been that he needed to stop running and fight to be a hero. It should have been that heroism can look a lot of different ways. It should have been you don't have to be a hero to have worth.

Steve sniffled as he cleaned off Eddie's gravestone once again. The town had been saved, the crack closed, and somehow Vecna had been defeated. No one really knew what happened. Only that a mysterious figure with wings had saved their asses. El was still trying to find them, but they were hiding themselves pretty well. Hopper believed he slunk back into the Upside Down before it closed, but no one else believed that, especially Dustin. He didn't say it outloud, but he knew the kid believed that it had somehow been Eddie. Steve didn't want to discourage him or get his hopes up. He didn't know what to do.
All he could do now was to keep cleaning Eddie's headstone. Edward Munson: Now At Peace. Yeah, right. People keep spray painting "burn in hell" across the headstone. He didn't deserve this. . . Even in death, they were still fucking with him. Steve let out a strangled yell and threw the rag.
"It's not fucking fair!" Steve snapped.
Steve breathed heavily and pinched the bridge of his nose. He stared at the headstone and did some breathing exercises to help calm him down. Now would be the perfect time to tell him everything, at least, Robin said it would help.
"I never got to really know you, man," Steve said. "And I really wish that I did, though. I wish I could see you play that guitar even at the Hideout. . .to see you up on that stage. I kind of wanted to see you graduate, too. I would have loved to see you give Higgins the finger. I always hated that guy. Fucking asshole. I would have loved to see you DM up on your throne. I'm not sure I would be able to play, I honestly would have gotten distracted. I wish I knew more than that, though. Like, what's your favorite song? Your favorite movie? Your favorite color, man? I don't know. . .anything. I wish you were here to tell me. I just wish. . ."
He stood there for a moment as though he were expecting an answer. Steve sighed and ran his hand through his hair. He went to reach for the rag, but someone beat him to it. A man with a hat over his head and sunglasses on his face was kneeling in front of Eddie's grave. Steve had no clue who it was.
"Let me help, son," the man said in a deep southern accent.
Steve had been spending enough time with Wayne and Dustin to realize that this man sounded an awful lot like Wayne with his accent. He knew it wasn't Wayne, though, because this man was too young and he knew that Wayne was working.
"You didn't do this, did you?" Steve asked.
"I just want to help, boy," the man said. "A handsome man like Eddie Munson doesn't deserve this. Although, I guess you could say he is hot as hell."
"That's a weird thing to say about a dead guy," Steve said, scrunching up his nose. "Did you know him?"
"You could say that. You could also say that I knew him a little too well," he said. "I kind of overheard your speech there, son. I can answer some of those questions for you, ya know?"
"I - would like that," Steve said softly as he grabbed the extra rag and knelt down to clean up the headstone.
"Well, most people would think differently about his favorite song. He loved the song Rolling Stone by Muddy Waters. His mama would teach him how to dance to that song. Sometimes, she would place him on her feet. He loves red, but he also loves the color blue," the man said. "He loves Conan the Barbarian. He used to sneak into the theater with his best friend, Ronnie."
"Ronnie?" Steve asked.
"Yeah, she was the first friend he ever made, and she was never more than his best friend despite him making an embarrassing move on her," he chuckled.
"That sounds familiar," Steve laughed. "He told you all this?"
"In a way," he said. "Ronnie showed him the way into leading lost sheep. His uncle gave him the kick in the ass he needed into not giving a fuck what other people thought of him. He still had some learning to do. He was kind of queer in the head, though, despite all of that."
"What? Who cares what he was into?" Steve scoffed. "Are you seriously judging him on that? I'm queer in the head myself."
"Wait, hold on, son. I ain't judging him for that, and you do know that queer also means weird, right?" The man asked.
"Yeah. . .I mean, I forgot," Steve stuttered.
"Should I just forget that you came out to a complete stranger, son? Doesn't matter, I didn't have a problem with Eddie being like that," he said, and then he dropped the accent. "I can't believe you did that!"
He dropped the hat and the sunglasses, slapping his knees as he stood up. Steve gaped up at him. His hair was cut short, but he would recognize those dimples anywhere. He was grinning wildly down at Steve.
"Eddie?!" Steve choked and he stood up.
"Hey, Stevie," Eddie said.
It was the first time he had called him that, and it made his stomach flutter. His brain tried so hard to comprehend that it was Eddie, but he looked so drastically different without his hair that he couldn't really focus. He noticed that he was also wearing a hoodie and a polo that looked awfully familiar.
"Hey, that's my polo," Steve said.
"Yeah, I broke into your house," Eddie said. "I wanted to look the least like myself."
"Why?" Steve asked.
"So, that people won't try to murder me, Steven," Eddie said.
"No, I mean, I get that. Why the deception?" He asked.
"Hi, I'm Eddie Munson. I like to be dramatic," he said, and he held out his hand. "Go ahead, take it."
Steve wrapped his hand around Eddie's like he was shaking his hand. His skin was cool to the touch, and Steve couldn't help but stare at it.
"You're real," he whispered.
"Very," he grinned.
"Why is your hand so cold?" Steve asked.
"I'm vampire now so. . . ," Eddie said, shaking his head from side to side.
"You were the mysterious figure that destroyed Vecna," Steve said in realization.
"He tried to make me his little bitch. Wanted me to do all his dirty work and kill of you," Eddie scoffed and rolled his eyes. "No thanks. I can't even clean my room when my uncle asks, and I love the man. Do you think I'm going to kill people I care about for someone I hate? Yeah, no."
"You saved us. You saved this town despite the fact that they hate you for no goddamn reason," Steve said.
"Well, my dad conned half the town, so yeah," Eddie shrugged, and then his eyes lit up. "Oh, I saved Higgins! You should have seen the egg on his face. He does know I'm alive, but he probably feels guilty about blackmailing me into dropping out in '84 now."
"He did what?" Steve asked.
"Yeah, crazy story. I should tell you all about it over dinner," Eddie said.
"That was smooth," Steve smirked.
Eddie ran his hand over the vest Steve was wearing and smirked.
"My vest looks good on top of a polo," Eddie said and paused, looking at him softly. "I'm not going to waste my chance this time. Hey, Steve?"
Suddenly, Steve was brought back to the Upside Down, and Eddie had looked at him with meaningful eyes before they parted ways. The memory was soon gone.
"Yeah?"
Eddie grabbed him by the vest and pulled him in, crashing their lips together. Eddie wrapped his arms around Steve’s neck, pulling him in closer as he deepened the kiss as Steve gripped his hips. Eddie broke the kiss, allowing Steve to breathe.
"We're kissing over your grave," Steve said.
"Better than walking over it," Eddie cackled.
Steve suddenly began pushing him backward until Eddie's back hit the tree that was next to his grave. He pressed his body up against Eddie's and covered his mouth with his own. He really should care that he was making out in a cemetery, but all he was aware of was Eddie. Eddie's mouth against his, Eddie's tongue making its way back in, and Eddie's hands quickly pulling his polo out of his pants so his hands could press themselves against his skin. All that mattered was how alive Eddie was and how much Steve could feel it. It was like all the lights were turning on inside of him, and it was Eddie that was flipping them on. Steve quickly broke the kiss and leaned his forehead against his, breathing heavily.
"We better stop before we do something else in cemetery that we're not supposed to," Steve said.
"Probably a good idea," Eddie said. "I think we just gave a granny quite a shock."
Steve looked over his shoulder and saw an older woman standing a few yards away, looking appalled.
"My God. She's literally clutching her pearls," Steve said.
"What do you think it is? That we're two men or that we're making out in a graveyard?" Eddie asked.
"Young man, my hearing is just fine! I don't care if you two have dicks! I mind that you two are fooling around in the place where the dead sleep!" She scowled.
Eddie and Steve looked at her in shock for a moment.
"I was not expecting her to say that," Steve said with wide eyes.
"Who would?" Eddie asked and glanced at the old woman. "Alright, time to adopt a grandmother."
"No, Eddie, we have to tell everyone you're alive, especially Wayne and Dustin," Steve said.
"Right. . .Dustin. Shit, I died in front of him. I know this is a stupid question, but how is he?" Eddie winced.
"Devestated but also hopeful that the mysterious figure who saved us all was you," Steve said and took Eddie's hand. "Let's get you home."
They laced their fingers together and walked out of the cemetery, apologizing to the granny as they left. They didn't care if anyone saw them, but after the town nearly went apocalyptic, how could anything else matter? The only thing that mattered was that they were both very much alive.

The day before Christmas, a day to forget
written for @steddieholidaydrabbles prompt: birthday | rated: t | wc 970 | cw: reference to neglectful parenting | tags: steve harrington has bad parents, surprise party Steve never got to celebrate his birthday, on account of it being Christmas Eve. He doesn't even tell people when it is. Eddie is determined to find out his birthday and make it a good one.
Birthdays had never really meant much to Steve. It was something that everyone else had, but not him. Well, he did have a birthday, but he never got to celebrate it. Christmas Eve. His family telling him that it was too close to Christmas, that he didn't need two days of presents back-to-back. If he was lucky, he might get a card or a small gift from other relatives, his grandparents or an aunt, but nothing much.
It felt worse once he was at school, making friends. Seeing everyone getting a day to celebrate them, getting presents and cake and everyone making a fuss of them. It made him feel left out and resentful of his parents. He asked again why he never got to celebrate his birthday, again getting told that it was too close to Christmas. And getting told not to be greedy.
In high school, Tommy and Carol decided to celebrate his 'half-birthday' in June. But that was more of an excuse to throw a huge house and pool party in the middle of summer. A chance to get drunk, to do anything they could without getting in too much trouble about it. No one ever remembered that it was supposed to be about Steve's birthday.
So, by the time he was sixteen, he stopped bothering. If anyone asked, he didn't celebrate his birthday. He wouldn't even tell people when his birthday was. For his seventeenth birthday, he got to spend the day with Nancy and her family. He didn't tell her what the day was, but at least he wasn't alone for once. For his eighteenth, he was alone again. Telling the kids wasn't even on the cards. He knew that Hopper was aware of it from when he'd seen his license in the past, but he didn't bring it up.
His nineteenth birthday, he spent it working with Robin. He hadn't told her, but it was great getting to spend the day with his best friend in the world. He was even going home with her and spending the night, so they could be together the next day. Her parents knew he didn't have a great relationship with his family, so they invited him to spend Christmas with them.
Twenty was another year of not celebrating his birthday. But they barely celebrated Christmas. Too focused on trying to defeat Vecna to do anything special. They took the just long enough to have a meal together, the same as they did on anyone's birthdays. It just wasn't possible to do anything more.
Twenty-one was the year it changed. Mid-September had Eddie asking him about his birthday.
"I asked the kids, but they said you don't celebrate. Robin and Nancy said the same thing. Come on, Stevie, you can tell me." Eddie tried to bug it out of him.
"Eddie. I don't celebrate. Nothing you say is going to change that. I don't have good experiences with my birthday, so I don't like to think about it. I won't be doing anything for it, so just leave it." Steve replied.
December came around, and no one else mentioned anything about it. No one brought it up at all. Steve was thankful for that, saving him from awkward and difficult conversations. Christmas Eve, his birthday, came around and it was quiet and peaceful. There were plans for the evening, for everyone to have their Christmas get together, before them having the next day with their families.  Steve drove himself over after work, as he was the only one on shift. It was being held at Joyce and Hopper's place, and Steve was quite looking forward to it. When he got there, he noticed that most of the painstakingly hung lights on the outside of the house were off, which felt unusual, but he tried not to think too much about it. He knocked on the door and waited.
"Steve, hi. Come on in, we're all down in the basement." Joyce said as she opened the door.
"Thanks Mrs Byers." Steve replied, hanging up his coat before heading down the stairs to the basement. The lights were dimmed and there were no Christmas decorations around.
"Happy Birthday, Steve." Everyone shouted, and Steve stepped back, unsure of what to make of it. He'd never seen anything like it before, especially not for him.
"What? Why? How?" He was almost speechless, it all so overwhelming.
"We all knew you never talk about your birthday, and figured that there must be a reason why. We found out when it was, so we figured it must have been something to do with being close to Christmas." Eddie explained.
"I. I don't."
"Steve, we all love you, we want to do this for you. Eddie was the one that put us all up to this, to find out your birthday and have a reason to celebrate it. You do so much for everyone else's birthdays, you deserve the same amount of care and love." Robin added, coming over to give him a hug. "If you really hate your birthday that much, we can forget this, and go upstairs and have the Christmas party like we told you."
"It's. My parents told me that it's too close to Christmas, that I don't need two days of presents so close. That I would be greedy if I expected people to celebrate my birthday in the middle of the Christmas season." Steve said quietly.
"That's bullshit. You deserve a birthday as much as everyone else does. It's not your fault when you were born. Now, come on. We've all got presents for you, and there's cake. Mrs Henderson made your favorite black forest cake." Eddie replied.
Steve smiled, feeling the love and warmth from everyone around him. Maybe his birthday was something he could celebrate, after all.

isn't that so sad | steve harrington x eddie munson 1.9k
summary: steve struggles with his mental health and no longer being needed by his friends in the wake of vecna's defeat.
tw: 18+ minors dni, post season four, everybody lives. poor mental health and its direct impact, general sadness with a happy ending.
Steve feels himself begin to spiral once everything happens, and there's nothing he can do to stop it.
After Vecna, the Upside Down, Dustin crying and begging for Steve's help. Dragging Eddie out with nothing more than determination and strength brought from the pits of his stomach.
He looked after everybody on autopilot, threw himself into protector mode and ran around like a mother hen to make sure everybody was safe, looked after and protected. Until one by one everybody got better and moved on, and the only people left who truly needed protection were Eddie and Max.
He spent almost all of his free time at Hawkins Memorial Hospital, at one of two bedsides as induced comas continued on. Took to sleeping in Eddie's room at nights whilst Wayne continued to work at the plant, because the Government hush money didn't go very far once medical bills were needing paid.
Hell, Steve was the only person there when Eddie awoke from his coma three months later, and knocked Steve off of his feet when Eddie grabbed for his hand and pleaded with him to just stay. Didn't want nurses or doctors or even his own fucking family to come in, he just wanted Steve.
New normal began soon after Eddie awoke, Steve's days that were once dreary and pointless were now filled with driving Eddie to therapy and rehab appointments, going grocery shopping for Wayne so he could sleep after his shifts. Checking in on Lucas as he prayed at Max's bedside, taking visits to Dustin and his mother, who had a habit of making enough dinner so that Steve could eat. Claudia knew Steve, knew he didn't look after himself, was too busy making sure everybody else was healthy and alive. So, she made sure he had the same courtesy, and he was forever thankful.
Things had routine, normalcy, until suddenly they didn't anymore. Eddie was back to (mostly) full health, school restarted so Steve didn't see the kids much unless they wanted a ride or a place to crash at the weekends — he wasn't needed anymore.
Robin left. Her parents hauled ass to the other side of the country, and she went, too. He couldn't lie to himself, say it didn't hurt, because it near enough fucking killed him. Broke his heart in two to watch his soulmate leave without a trace. She wrote often, called occasionally, but to not have her hand within grabbing distance when things got tough — well, that's something Steve would never come to terms with.
His parents never checked in, never asked about what happened in Hawkins, he doubted they knew much beyond the vague tellings that the news broadcasted. They sent money, they always did. But the house was empty, void. Steve longed for his mothers hugs, his fathers stern voice carrying through the halls. He hadn't wanted those things since he was fifteen and left on his own for the first time, but the loneliness crept in painfully quick, everything felt dark.
Steve still slept with the nail bat next to his bed. He'd seen this before, ever since the fateful night that he stepped in to help Jon and Nancy fight that fucking demogorgon. Just when they thought everything was over, something would happen. Whether that be Demodogs, Russians, Vecna. There was always something new to get them, and he could never rely on the fact that everything had gone quiet once they 'defeated' him.
He feels himself fading, but he's too proud to call and ask for anything. Blames it on the one too many knocks to the head, that's clearly what's causing this imbalance in his feelings. Doesn't want to call Nance and ask her how things are going at college, doesn't want to pester Dustin now that he's sixteen and old enough to drive, doesn't want to stop by Eddie's new government issued trailer for a smoke. He's far too sure he'd be considered more of a nuisance than company.
It's March. Spring Break, the one year anniversary. Steve can't remember the last time he ate, or showered, or left the position he curled up in on his mattress. The phone next to his bed rings on and off for days, and Steve chooses to leave it unanswered.
He didn't want pity calls.
He falls asleep finally, sometime after the second or third sunrise. Succumbing to exhaustion, heavy eyelids drooping shut, slipping into the first dreamless sleep he'd had since that fateful night in 1983.
Tumblr media
"Harrington! Steve, Steve c'mon, wake up!"
A panicked voice rouses Steve. Firm, bony fingers shaking his bare shoulders as his bleary eyes struggle to open.
He's just so tired.
"Steve, man, please," the voice tries again, desperate and pleading. Steve's fuzzy head knows that voice, can make it out even in the state he's in, has heard it in his thoughts and his dreams for a year now.
"Eddie," Steve's voice is gruff, painfully dry, lips tacky from lack of saliva and fluids, "how... how'd you get in?"
Eddie barks out this fucking incredulous laugh, holds his hands up in defeat before slapping them down on his thighs dramatically, eyes wild and brows up behind his fringe, "I broke in, Steve! Nobody heard from you in four days. Four fucking days! I thought I was gonna come in here and you were gonna be— fuck!"
Steve tries to process what he's saying, feels this horrific pang of guilt in his chest when he realizes he's upset Eddie. He'd never even thought, not even for a second, that people would be worried he was dead.
"I'm sorry, m'sorry," Steve apologizes groggily, tries so hard to lift his heavy head from the pillow but fuck, if his neck won't allow it. He feels so useless, can't even find the fucking strength to pull himself up from his slumber. It's embarrassing, he's mortified.
"Hey, don't," Eddie scrambles, wraps ringed fingers around Steve's slender wrist, almost in a feeble attempt to pin him in place on the mattress, and Steve goes willingly, "you... you're not yourself, man. We should've known, I should've known. When you didn't answer the phone to Rob—"
"Robs called?" Steve winces, pained and choked. He doesn't want to fucking cry in front of Eddie Munson, not after everything. A missed phone call shouldn't be the hairline trigger.
"Yeah, Steve," Eddie sighs, the pad of his thumb running along the veins on the back of Steve's wrist soothingly, almost like he's trying absently to stop the freak out that he feels impending, "don't. Don't beat yourself up, okay? It's our faults, we didn't check in. I'm so fucking sorry, we all are. Things have just been—"
"Busy, I know." Steve sighs, still curled in a goddamn ball on his side, like he's frozen in place, held down and imprisoned by nothing but the weight of his own thoughts. He feels his eyes grow hot, teary, "Nobody needed me anymore."
There's a beat of silence, then Eddie rips the comforter off of Steve, exposing his body to the chilly air. Steve winces, half expects Eddie to try and haul his ass out of bed, give him the tough love his dad used to when he was given a telling off for something and would hide under the covers to cry.
Harrington men didn't cry.
But, Eddie Munson was always surprising Steve. Ever since that fateful day in that fucking boat house at Rick's, when the scrawny kid Tommy Hagan used to beat up for fun used his brute strength to pin Steve to a fucking wall.
He clambers into bed with Steve, Reeboks still on his feet, leather jacket on his shoulders, not a care in the damn world. Those wild curls fanning out over Steve's pillow as he lies down, face to face.
Steve's suddenly self conscious, knows he probably fucking reeks. Hasn't brushed his teeth or washed his hair in who knew how long, deodorant long worn off from the cold sweats he lay in. He cringes, embarrassment creeping up hot on his neck — he never wanted anybody to see him like this.
"When my old man used to come home drunk, my mom would lay in bed with me like this, gimme hugs and run her fingers through my hair til I fell asleep," Eddie explains, voice quiet as he shuffles in close to Steve, their knees knocking, "I was scared of him. She didn't want me to be alone. She died when I was six, then it was just me an' him, nothing to comfort me when he came home and yelled, blamed me for his loss on whatever card game they played that night."
Steve furrows his brows, chest tightening at Eddie's story. He doesn't understand why Eddie's telling him this, curses his stupid brain for being slow to tack on to what this all means, but he understands, to an extent. His own mom used to love him and comfort him, too, once upon a time.
She wasn't dead, but sometimes it felt like she was.
Steve doesn't realize he's crying until Eddie's eyes widen in shock, his gangly body flailing a little as he moves in closer to scoop Steve into his arms, pulling him into his torso. Steve's whole body freezes for a split second, goosebumps littering his skin at the feeling of Eddie's warm body basically engulfing his own fragile one.
"Fuck, sorry, man. Didn't mean to make you cry. Was just a stupid little story, my way of saying — fuck me," Eddie panics, struggles, stumbling over his own words as Steve sobs quietly into the soft material of his worn in shirt, "I get it. Feeling like you have to be on your own, and work it out on your own, because you've only had yourself for as long as you can remember. But you're not alone now, Steve. We're not alone."
Steve cries until his throat is raw and he's soaked through Eddie's shirt with his tears, tightly fisting the material because he won't allow himself to hug Eddie back. Eddie anchors him, buries a hand in his hair and strokes soothingly until Steve's doing nothing more than dryly hiccupping into his chest.
"I— I'm sorry," Steve apologises again, struggling to get the tiniest of words out past the hyperventilating, "I didn't— didn't want this t-to happen. Wanted to be — be strong for ev-everybody."
"Stop fuckin' fighting your feelings, Harrington. Let us look after you and love you. It's time somebody took care of you, you've done it for us for long enough." Eddie's stern but still soft, chin hooked atop Steve's head, "We can start slow, okay? I need you to drink some fluids, before you end up in the hospital."
Steve agrees tentatively. And it's not long before just drinking fluids turns to showering, eating a full meal, stepping outside in the daylight. Sleeping through the night, going to the movie theatre with the gang. Getting a new job, visiting Robin across the country.
Eddie's by his side through it all.
Steve falls hard but Eddie falls harder.

Confession 🌸💕
Steve's attack in the Upside Down cements how you feel about him but you think he still loves Nancy.
You don't realise he's in love with someone else.... You.

❤️
The bites were bad that was the first thing you noticed as Steve collapses against the cave he was beside.
You rush over to him immediately, the wound around his neck is severe and it makes your anxiety around this whole situation even worse.
Would he be okay? How far could he go before he needed to go to the doctor?
The wounds on his side need bandaged quick and you rip off a piece of your shift to use it as a makeshift bandage.
"This will hurt for a minute okay but we need to bandage this up" he nods and adjusts himself so you can wrap the shirt around him, he winces, hands running through his hair as a pained moan escapes him.
He's covered in dirt and blood and grime, you shouldn't find him attractive like this but you do... God, you had been smitten with Steve since last year.
Ever since you became friends with Robin, ever since all the shit that happened on July 4th.
The experience bonded you, Robin and Steve, being part of the Scoop Troop team, facing the Russians, Steve getting beat up, the drugs they fed all three of you, sharing secrets it connected you.
Steve got his mojo back and started dating, charming girls, being himself and along the way you got to know him better, you helped each other deal with the trauma from July 4th and the days surrounding it.
Sometimes you would have movie nights with Robin and you would wake up nestled into Steve.
"You looked so comfy I didn't have the heart to move you"
The truth was you could happily stay there forever.
That kick started all the butterflies in your belly, heart racing, feelings for him.
Now here you were with him in The Upside Down, along with Eddie, Nancy and Robin because Steve had been dragged into the gate that led to it. Watergate.
You didn't hesitate as you jumped in after him, your heart was pounding, fear mixing with the need to protect Steve and you ended up here along with the others, beating the shit out of those demobats who attacked Steve.
You smile as he's all patched up.
"There, all better" his gaze is soft as he stares down at you.
"Is he okay?" Nancy comes up to you both and you nod.
"All fixed up" you give Steve a small smile and move away, not wanting to see the way Steve looks at Nancy, you know he's still in love with her.
Nearly losing Steve has made you realise that you're head over heels in love with him but it was hopeless because he wouldn't want you, not if he could have Nancy.
Even if he did feel the same you would be a second choice and you didn't want to be that.
"Hey?" Steve's hand connects with yours, his thumb circling around your palm.
"Yes?" you try to ignore the way your heart speeds up at just his very touch.
"Thank you, sweetheart" you shrug like it's no big deal but then pause for a second.
Fuck it, you may die in this hellhole world so if you did you would rather go out with no regrets.
Ever so gently you kiss his cheek, hand rested on his chest.
"I'd do anything for you Steve" his breath hitches and you move away, not looking at the others.
"Let's find some way out of this shithole yeah?"
🌸💕
A week had passed everything was back to well not normal but a now monster free town...
An earthquake had rocked the town after Vecna's defeat and The Upside Down's destruction.
Clean up, restoration and recovery was happening and you were helping Stev go through things in your house that could have donated to help those in need.
Eddie was in hospital after a vicious demobat attack, he nearly died but thankfully managed to pull through, his name had been cleared by a miraculously returning Jim Hopper of any involvement with the murders of Chrissy, Jordan, Freddie.
Max was okay, her leg and arm had been broken during Vecna putting her under his curse a second time but she was healing.
Hawkins would heal too in time.
Steve's hand on your shoulder breaks you out of your thoughts and you continue folding up clothes.
"You okay?" he asks concerned and you nod.
"Just glad this is all finally over" he grins and hoists up one of the boxes to put in his car.
"Shit, tell me about it. Will be nice to not having to worry about facing monsters, worry about losing people I love" he looks up at you and your stomach sinks a little.
He must be talking about Nancy.
"Yeah...you know Jonathan and Nancy broke up?" he surprises you when he tells you he already knows.
"We talked, we talked a lot actually" oh, you figured they would at some point you just didn't realise it would be so soon.
"I'm happy for you Steve, you and Nance are back together right? I know you love her. I'm happy for you" turning away you will the tears not to come, curse yourself for not saying sooner.
Not like it would make a difference if he didn't feel the same way.
"We aren't back together honey" okay, this does shock you and you turn back to Steve confused.
"I thought...you still love her?" he walks over to you, his gaze intent on yours.
"For a long time I did but not anymore and I told her that. Truth is? I'm in love with someone else"
Someone else? "Who? One of the girls you dated recently?" he shakes his head.
"No, that was just sex, me losing myself in that because I couldn't have what I really wanted, who I wanted because I wasn't sure how she felt" he smiles, gaze tender as he looks at you.
"Can you not think of who it is hmm? I'll give you a hint? She's brave, beautiful, kind and so hilarious. She makes me laugh like no one else has, I've fallen in love with her like I have with nobody else and she's standing in front of me right now"
He loves me, tears pool in your eyes and he wipes them away softly.
"Little birdies have told me you obviously feel the same and I'm clearly a dingus who needs to be told everything"
Dustin and Robin, this makes you giggle and he gently kisses your forehead then looks into your eyes.
"I'm just wondering if they are right? Usually are. Being both geniuses and all" to answer his question you kiss him and he's kissing you back, hands running up your back, tangling in your hair.
Briefly you pull away.
"It's always been you Steve, I love you too" you kiss again and he whispers those three little words over and over again.
I love you.

Pairing: Steve Harrington & Eddie Munson Song Inspo: Andrew by Ben Platt Word Count: 2,574 Summary: Steve Harrington has a crush on Eddie Munson. Eddie Munson has a crush on Steve Harrington. Neither of them want to address it for various reasons. They're just two idiots in love. Warnings: angst, slowburn Masterlist: see fandoms (pc-friendly)
After defeating Vecna and barely escaping the upside down, Steve knew his life was never going to be the same again. He no longer had the pleasure of being blissfully unaware of the darkness that surrounded Hawkins. He knew about the creatures that lurked in the shadows. Knew how powerful they were and the amount of damage they had caused to their little town, how many lives were lost in the mix of creatures that were never supposed to exist.
They were supposed to be fiction, stories told to kids to keep them in their homes at certain times, to scare them into staying safe and not wondering into the forest alone at night. Unfortunately, those things were very real, too real for Steve's liking.
Some days he wished to be one of those dense high school kids who only cared about their reputation and didn't know what was happening in the world around them. He wished to be like the old Steve, the one who only cared about hooking up, parties and Nancy Wheeler. He loved her in a way he never thought he could love; she awakened something in him that he didn't know existed. Then she was ripped out of his life without even the slightest warning, she left him, she didn't love him. She said it was all bullshit. They were bullshit.
He knew now that she was right about it all, they were bullshit. Neither of them were ready or mature enough for a relationship, they were too different, too young and too foolish. Nancy was better with Jonathan, they had bonded over their trauma and Steve was jealous at first, but after seeing that massive smile on her face, he knew that she had exactly who she needed. It stung, seeing them together, they were everywhere he went, and he hated it. So, he went to parties and got piss drunk to forget and occasionally he stopped by that disgusting trailer park to buy from Eddie Munson.
Eddie "The Freak" Munson was the best dealer in town, he always had a fixed supply unlike some of the other idiots who couldn't keep up with the demand. Steve didn't necessarily like Eddie that much, he was too loud, too dramatic, too all over the place and too different. He was what Steve never could be, unapologetically different.
He never apologized for being who he was, he never cared what anyone thought or said about him. In fact, he played into it, he wore the term 'Freak' like a badge of honor and used it to scare off any potential threats. It worked most of the time, while people found him annoying, they never did anything to psychically stop him.
That irritated Steve even more. Eddie got away with being himself. Steve wished he could just exist without the fear of getting judged or trampled on. So, he worked his way up the high school ranks and became King Steve, someone everybody wanted to be or be with. None of it was true though, he was never a king. He was never any of the things they made him out to be, well except a douche. He was definitely a douche.
So now, two years after graduating high school, he had finally accepted that life was never going to be easy for him. He would never get to be his true self in front of everyone, he would never get to show the real Steve to all of Hawkins. He'd probably get beaten up or killed for it to be fair.
"Hey dingus" Robin's voice broke through his train of thought, "stop staring into space, we've got customers to attend to."
He shot her a glare before turning to the customer at the register who was returning some of the tapes she rented. His face softened when he saw the girl staring at him nervously.
"Sorry about that," he stated, "will you be renting anything else today, or just returning?"
The girl shrugged, twirling a piece of her blonde hair around her finger, "I haven't decided yet, I still have to have a look. Any suggestions?"
"Uh... Fire With Fire seems to be a hit right now, it's in the romance section"
"Are you into romance?" She asked in what he assumed was supposed to be a flirty voice.
He shrugged, "not really. I just watch whatever, but I've heard it's a good movie." He turned to Robin and smirked, "Rob and I are actually going to watch it together tonight."
A deep red blush covered the girl's cheeks at the thought of flirting with a taken man, "I'm so sorry, I have no idea."
Steve waved her off, "it's okay, happens to the best of us."
Robin scowled at him as the customer scurried away after deciding that she definitely wasn't going to rent Fire With Fire now. She thanked them and nearly ran out of the store.
"Really Steve. Using me as your repellant. Usually, you manage to get rid of the girls just be being yourself." she teased before going to the back and adding another strike under the 'You Suck' column.
Steve sat on the counter and watched her return from the break room, he wanted to tell her the truth, but he has been struggling to get the words out for the last year. It was scary being open like this, having someone know everything about you was terrifying and he didn't want it to change anything between them. She was his best friend and he loved her. He didn't want this stupid shit to come between them, he didn't want to lose the one person who understood him the best.
Losing Nancy was hard but losing Robin would probably kill him, she was his biggest support and he truly appreciated and cherished their friendship. What started out as a stupid crush on his coworker quickly turned into the most meaningful friendship he has ever had. The possibility of losing that scared him more than the monsters they faced over the last three years.
"Steve. Seriously what's up?" Robin spoke up again, a concerned look on her face, "you've been spacing out all day and you keep getting this look on your face that looks like you want to do something stupid and it's freaking me out. Are you okay? Is it Vecna? Is he still alive? Is it me? Oh god. Did I do something to make you hate me and now you want to quit your job and move away and never see me again. You've probably already packed to leave and now you're trying to think of a way to break it to m–"
"Robin, breathe. God. I'm not going anywhere" he cut her off, "I've just got a lot on my mind, and it doesn't have anything to do with Vecna or the upside down or any of that crazy shit. I'm just trying to figure out a few things."
She nodded "sorry. I got a little carried away."
They shared a laugh before going silent again, a comfortable air settling between them as they got back to work. It was a relatively quiet day in Family Video, so they didn't really do much and soon their shift came to an end and Steve got ready to lock up while Robin waited in his car.
"Hey Harrington, fancy seeing you here" he heard a familiar voice pipe up behind him.
"I work here Eddie" he said flatly.
Eddie tsked, "I'm well aware of that Stevie, I was just being courteous."
"Stevie?" He questioned.
He and Munson became kind of friends after the whole Upside Down incident. Watching Eddie nearly bleed to death made him realize that he came to like Eddie in the short time they spent together. He learnt a lot about the guy while running away from Vecna and the enraged townspeople who believed that Eddie was a satanic murderer.
The stakes were high but somehow Eddie always managed to inject humor into every situation to make it feel a lot less intense. He had a way of making people comfortable around him, of making them feel at ease. It was surprising yet welcomed at the time and watching him so close to death made the entire gang realize how much Eddie Munson truly meant to them.
He was one of them now, a part of the club, a trusted member. So, it wasn't weird for him to be here, speaking to Steve.
"Well Stevie, I figured since we escaped death together and kicked Vecna's tentacle ass we're basically friends now. There's nothing wrong with giving your friend a nickname now is there, Steve? "
Eddie had that wide eyed look on his face, the one that made Steve squirm in place, his stare was always intense. Steve felt as if he was staring into his soul, trying to unravel every dark secret locked up inside of him. Yet the casual smile on his face said the opposite, it contradicted his beady eyes in the best way possible. The perfect balance of intense and soft, which was exactly how Steve would describe Eddie.
He cleared his throat, trying his best to ignore the slight warmth in his cheeks, "uh. Sure. Yeah. Stevie... I like it"
Eddie chuckled at his flustered state, "I actually came by to invite you and Robin to a movie night at my place. Tomorrow at 7, don't be late Harrington."
Steve watched him walk off without waiting for a response, and while he tried to mill over everything Eddie said, he only managed to get stuck on the fact that Eddie referred to him as 'Harrington' again. He wasn't sure why it upset him that much, it was his surname after all, but after being called Stevie, hearing his last name out of Eddie's lips no longer sounded right.
He wanted to be called Stevie. He wanted Eddie to call him Stevie every day, because the way he said it made his stomach do the slightest flip. The way he drawled it out in that raspy voice of his, made it sound so much better than it would sound if anyone else said it. He wanted to be Eddie's Stevie.
That thought stumped him, because he had never thought of another guy like that. He never felt that happy to hear a guy give him a nickname. But to be fair, Eddie Munson wasn't just another guy. He was different. Special.
Tuesday came rolling around and Steve was on edge the entire day, he had hung out with Eddie before, but this somehow felt different. So much so that he was nervous and jittery the entire day and Robin teased him about it at every chance she got.
"It's just a movie, Steve, why are you freaking out?" She questioned, "We hung out with Eddie before, and you always enjoyed it. You know better than anyone else, that he's not what the town makes him out to be."
"I know that, Rob. That's not the issue, it's just different this time and I don't know how to explain it. Like it's been a year since all that crazy shit happened and I'm still adjusting to having Eddie around more."
"Do you not want to hang out with him anymore?" she moved around the store sorting tapes while they spoke.
"No!" he said louder than he meant to. "No... I like hanging out with Eddie, he's fun. It just feels different. I don't know how to explain it."
"Well, you have all the time in the world to figure it out. Now that the world isn't ending anymore you can think about whatever it is you're feeling and deal with it when you're ready."
He nodded; she was right. There was no rush to figure his stupid thoughts out, all he had to do was get through tonight. He was nervous for some reason and kept wondering who would be there, would Eddie have invited Nancy and Jonathan as well?
He didn't know if he wanted an answer to that question right now. Being unaware was a blessing in certain situations.
Steve stepped into Eddie's new trailer and settled down beside Robin, a smile plastered on his face as he turned to Nancy and Jonathan who were squeezed together on a love seat. The government helped clear Eddie's name and gave him and his uncle a brand-new trailer in a more reserved side of town. It was bigger and it was fully furnished so it quickly became their hang out when they wanted to escape reality for a bit.
Steve raised a brow at Robin when Vickie made her way into the trailer after them.
"Did you know she was coming?"
Robin leaned closer and whispered her response, "yeah. I invited her. Hope you don't mind?"
Steve shrugged, "of course I don't mind. I'm glad you finally upped your game, Rob." He teased.
"Shut up. You can't even get a date." She bit back, motioning for him to scoot over so Vickie could squeeze in the seat beside her.
Eddie came back into the room with beers for everyone and a few rolled up joints, he passed the beers around and sat next to Steve.
"Hope you don't mind our medicinal addition, it helps mellow us out a bit" he said to Vickie, a charming smile on his face.
Steve felt a tinge of jealousy shoot up within him when Vickie giggled and told him she didn't mind at all. It was stupid of him to get jealous over something that simple, but he managed to convince himself that he was only pissed because Eddie shouldn't be putting moves on Robin's date.
Eddie noticed the look on Steve's face, his brows all scrunched and the slightest pout to his lips. He looked adorable, like an angry kitten, Eddie wanted to kiss that stupid little pout away.
He always had a slight crush on Steve "The Hair" Harrington. Who didn't? Steve was hot, with his perfect hair, those big brown eyes, that amazingly toned body and that gorgeous smile that he flashed Eddie with whenever Eddie teased him too much. Steve was perfect and Eddie struggled daily to keep his feelings in check. He didn't want their blossoming friendship to fall apart simply because he couldn't keep it in his pants. Plus falling for straight men was a big no in the Munson doctrine so he had to stick to his rules and keep whatever playful banter they had going on extremely platonic.
Although a little teasing never hurt and seeing Steve blush was always worth it, so he leaned forward and whispered, "Is that jealousy I'm detecting? Wipe that pout off your face. Vickie's got nothing on you, big boy."
Steve felt his face heat up and bit back the smile that threatened to pull at his lips. His stomach did an entire back flip at the tone of Eddie's voice. The hairs on his neck stood up as his breath hit his skin. His entire body went rigid as the words big boy slipped out of Eddie's mouth again. This was the first time Eddie had said it since the upside down and somehow it felt more intense now, it felt different.
Eddie Munson would be the death of him and based off the smug smirk on his face, he definitely knew what he was doing.

Masterlist Part 1 Here
Eddie's in the cafeteria, grinning to himself, being unusually quiet. Every time he closes his eyes there's an image of you ingrained on his eyelids it seems. Your frame; lacy underwear and soft skin juxtaposed against the demon like wings of your tattoo. He is well and truly smitten. It had taken him a while to sleep that night, he just couldn't stop looking at you laying in his arms. You two had spent the next day together, taking turns picking the music, sometimes making out, sometimes just chatting, until it was late and he had driven you home. Not that he had wanted to, but you insisted. He hadn't seen you since. Two whole days. It was driving him crazy. Tonight was Hellfire, he was supposed to be running the D&D club but he had no idea how he was going to focus.
"Eddie, what's up?" Dustin is waving his hand in Eddie's face, trying to get his attention. He pulls himself of out his revelry and sighs.
"Nothing big guy" and smiles a tight lipped smile, gripping Dustin by the shoulder.
"You didn't tell us, did you find her, in the end?" Dustin smiles at Eddie hopefully.
Eddie grins, his face flushing slightly "You could say that Henderson." Oh you've got no fuckin' idea buddy.
As if on cue, the door to the hall swings open and you walk in, lunch in hand. Breath catching in his throat, Eddie stares. It was hot today so you had opted for a short denim skirt, a black tank top and sneakers. You look around the room, searching, when your eyes land on him. You both look at each other, idiotic smiles on your faces, oblivious to the chaos of the lunch hall around you. Everything drops into background noise as your eyes make contact. It all seems irrelevant.
Walking over you look for a seat. Eddie manhandles Dustin, pushing him, making him move up. Dustin's visibly confused; then he looks up and sees you. "Holy shit." Then looks at Eddie. You take a seat next to him, smirking at Eddie. He's lost, looking into your face.
"You gonna introduce me or what Munson?" You chuckle.
"Fuck yes, sorry. Guys, this is y/n."
You're introduced to to group, and the chatter continues. Eddie's hand hesitantly lands on your knee. You smile, sneaking your hand under the table, and move his hand higher up your thigh. His brows raise and his eyes go wide, and you giggle.
'So boys, what's with the matching t shirts?"
As if you flicked some imaginary switch, you're bombarded with several excited teenaged voices all at once.
Eddie's voice cuts through the cacophony.
"Woah don't scare the lady!"
Dustin speaks. "It's Dungeons and Dragons, a role playing game. We're part of a club, Eddie's our Dungeon Master, it's so awesome." You smile at Dustin, genuinely pleased. He even plays D&D, now that's something. You hadn't brought it up before, thinking Eddie might think you're a nerd, but you loved that fantasy game. It gave you an escape.
As you were eating your lunch, Dustin was speaking with Mike, saying how they needed to defeat Vecna.
"And how you gonna manage that, what you got the sword of Kas or something?" You smile sweetly, with as much innocence that you can muster.
"You play D&D??" Both Eddie and Dustin exclaim. Jaws around the table drop.
"Play it? I ran it. Was a DM myself in Chicago before I came back to Hawkins."
Eddie's hand grips your thigh as he looks at you. "You're... you're fucking perfect."  He can't take his eyes off you, huge doe eyes blinking at you.
"God get a room!" says Dustin.
Mike rolls his eyes. "I told you, she's basically you!"
You both laugh at that. You lean over to Eddie and whisper in his ear, "fancy a smoke Dungeon Master?" He almost whimpers and immediately gets up, dragging you up by the wrist, and you both tear out of the cafeteria together, giggling as you run.
*******************
Almost jogging out of the hall, you run over to the bench that's hidden in the woods. Eddie chases you, grappling you as you laugh. When he catches you he suddenly lifts you up in the air by the waist and pretends to bite at your stomach. giggling and squealing you try to wiggle free. He sets you down on the bench, his bites turning into kisses, palms pressing into your sides.
"Where were you yesterday, I missed you."
"Its been like, one day!"
"Two days!" He pouts, then pulls you in for a kiss. You press your lips against his, all of a sudden feeling light headed. Pulling away you attempt to compose yourself.
"Ok two days! Sorry, I had detention at lunch. Something about a shoe connecting to a certain face?"
Eddie kisses you again, his lips moving to your neck. "Jesus princess, you really are like me."
You laugh at that, but your laugh turns into a moan when he starts biting and sucking at your neck.
"Eddie..."
"Your fault princess." He says into your collarbone, in between nips. "You go around calling me dungeon master."
"Oh, did you like that, master?"
"Mmph" Eddie makes a sound into your neck, hands falling to your thighs, his thumbs rubbing soft circles onto your skin.
"And this skirt, I mean, what's a guy to do?" He continues to rub at your thighs, thumbs massaging you.
"Oh that feels good baby." You tilt your head back, enjoying the feel of his fingers on you so much you're partially grinding into the table. I wish the bench was his thigh.
"Carry on like that and I wont be able to control myself." He says hotly.
Rubbing higher, one of his hands reaches under your skirt. "Tell me to stop." He stares at you with a serious face, all joking forgotten.
You lean forward at his touch, realising how much you missed it, chasing it.
"No. I want you to touch me Eddie." He smiles at you, a dark glint in his eye.
He moves his hand higher, stroking your pussy through your panties making you groan. The pressure that builds in your stomach is almost comical; no ones ever made you feel this good this fast.
"Really princess, at lunch, at school? Filthy girl." He gives you a lopsided smile.
"Eddie... oh fuck." His thumb rubs on your clothed clit, tracing lazy circles.
His fingers run down the hem of your underwear, stroking your bare skin. Your breath quickens; you feel a pulse deep inside your cunt, crying out for his touch. His fingers graze your bare clit and you moan out loud, clinging onto his shoulders.
Eddie is enjoying every second of this, staring at you, drinking in every sound you make. This is what he's wanted to feel ever since he saw your face. His hand moves your panties out of the way and starts rubbing at your bare clit. You moan with pleasure at the naked touch, your back arching, tingles running all over your body. Pressing a finger to your entrance, he smirks at your sudden intake in breath. It pushes in. You're so wet his finger glides right in to the hilt, grazing your g spot. You gasp, feeling the warmth of his hand, and the cold of his ring touching you as he pushes his finger all the way in.
"Eddie!" You moan, rocking into him.
"Easy princess, I've got you." He whispers into your ear. You reach out, kissing his neck, running your hands into his hair. It's so soft under your curling fingers. You grip into him, riding his touch. He pushes another finger in to the hilt, curling into you. The feeling is electrifying. You moan in response "fuck yes Eddie right there!"
He chuckles, almost mocking you. "Kay, sweetheart, right here?" He curls his fingers into you, faster, harder. Arching your back you quiver in his grasp, the amazing feeling pacing through your every nerve. His thumb reaches out and touches your clit and you become putty in one of Eddie's hands. You can't help but think, this is just one hand, imagine what the rest of him can do?
The pressure is building, you rock into his fingers, feeling your climax begin.
"Eddie I'm gonna, oh fuck..."
"Cum for me baby." You feel his hot breath on your neck, his command driving through you.
You tense up and the feeling explodes out of you in a loud moan, head snapping back, toes curling. The heat pours out of you, its palpable, coming hard around his fingers. The squeeze is immense. You feel your wetness squirt out, coating him, soaking him. He keeps curling into you with his digits gently, coaxing your orgasm out as long as he can. You sit there, breathless, unable to move, coming down from the amazing feeling. Steadying your breathing you gaze at him. There's a look emanating from him that you can't quite place, a sparkle in his eyes.
"Fucking hell Eddie!" You moan breathlessly.
He grins at you, pulling his fingers out. The feeling drags against your insides, making you bite your lip. You pull him in for a kiss.
"You're a filthy girl, you know that?" He smirks, damn pleased with himself.
"I-I mean, fuck Eddie, that was... wow." You grab at him, pawing at him, taken away by the moment.
Holding your jaw, he looks deep into your eyes. His nose nuzzles yours. "I missed you."
"I missed you too." You admit, smiling at him, hand stroking his neck.
"I think I'm falling in love with you." He stares into your eyes, all mockery forgotten.
"Fuck off." Laughing at him, you push him in the chest. Deflecting.
"I'm serious!" Almost offended, he grabs your hip and kisses you on the cheek.
"Eddie...." you don't know what to say. No one ever wants you. Ever.
"Its ok, you don't have to say anything just... just be mine, ok?"
"What, be your girlfriend?" A lump pushes into your throat.
"Yes, please?" He looks at you, pleading, staring at you with puppy dog eyes. Some resolve inside you melts, never to return. A wall that you had built up had dissolved with those two words.
"Well, I suppose. If you want me." You say back. Please want me.
"Of course I want you, look at you! You're incredible." He kisses your neck again, leaving marks in his wake.
"Eddie, I... just not used to anyone, wanting me." You mumble. You aren't, its true.
Eddie holds your hands in his, eyes making contact with yours. "You are perfect, and beautiful, and just incredible sweetheart, why wouldn't I want you?" His eyes bare into your soul.
You grin, a flush rushing to your cheeks.
The bell rings in the distance. A reminder of real life; one you would both rather forget right now. "We better go baby unless you want to be kept back another year."
"Ok princess." He presses a hot kiss into your mouth, sending shivers down your spine "One for the road!" He winks.
*****************
It was Friday evening and you were so excited to see Eddie; in every thought of yours he was ransacking your brain. He had invited you to Hellfire earlier in the week, but he was so close to the end of the campaign, you didn't want to jump in at the last minute. It wouldn't be long until a new campaign was started after all, and honestly you weren't sure about him having all the control.
He was picking you up from your house at 7pm, and you were in your room in the basement trying to decide what to wear. You did enjoy having the space to yourself, foster parents were hardly ever there, and you basically had a self contained apartment, minus a kitchen, with your own door in and out. You had told Eddie to knock at the back door since no one else was at home.
Standing there, looking down on your bed in a tartan kilt skirt and your bra, trying to decide what top to wear.
It's literally two band t shirts, why is this difficult.
You finally decide on the Poison T shirt and slip it on, tying it at the waist to accentuate your figure. Stepping over to the small shelf and precariously balanced mirror that serves as your vanity, you attend to your curls, spraying hair spray and singing along to the music you had playing. The song changed on the cassette and you hear Bad Company, Can't get Enough start to play. Smiling to your self you start to sway to it, singing along. Pretty soon you start dancing around the room, singing breathily, "well I'll take, whatever I want, and baby, I want you..." Really getting into the music, you're dancing away, oblivious to your surroundings, singing aloud as you love to do, hips swaying. "Well its late, and I want love, love that's gonna break me in two..."
"You mean that princess?"
You let out a shriek, feet nearly leaving the floor as you jump at the unexpected voice. Eddie's sitting at the top of the stairs to the basement, giggling like a kid, having sneaked in from the back door.
"Fuck Eddie, you scared the hell out of me!"
"Sorry princess " He chuckles, "but I heard singing and I had to listen. Didn't know I was gonna get a private show." He wiggles his eyebrows at you mischievously.
He stands up and walks over to you, grinning from ear to ear. You blush, realising you had been gyrating your hips in such a carefree manner, blissfully unaware of his presence for a moment. He takes your hips in his hands. You wish you could bottle the look on his face, the want in his eyes is intense, the chemistry between you palpable.
"You don't need to be embarrassed sweetheart, that was really something." He says lowly, kissing you, need written all over his features.
You almost forget you are supposed to be mad at him for coming in unannounced, enveloping yourself in the feel of him, the taste of him. You break from the kiss reluctantly, trying to tear yourself away from his magnetism.
"You should really learn to knock Munson."
"You should keep your door locked. Lots of weirdos around here." He pulls a manic face at you, tongue hanging out.
You laugh at him and kiss him again, swinging your arms around his neck. Eddie smiles at you, "so this is the princesses castle, huh? Your parents home?"
"Foster parents. No, they're out."
Eyes widening, Eddie looks at you but you look away, not quite ready for that conversation. He presses a kiss to your temple.
Breaking from your hold he walks around the room, looking at the posters on the walls, the books on your shelf, a tower of precariously balanced cassettes. He runs his hands over your meagre belongings, your life. You cant help but stare at those large hands of his, thinking about them on your ass, your thighs, your throat. A flush threatens to creep up your neck.
"So did you mean it?" Eddie asks, his face serious for a moment.
"What?" You shake yourself out of your revelry and stare at him in confusion.
"You seemed quite certain about it a minute ago, 'love that's gonna break you in two'?" He grins at you wolfishly, but there is a questioning edge to his voice.
Embarrassed, your cheeks flush again, but you smile back at him, "today might be your lucky day Munson."
Eddies face is a picture. He picks you up and spins you round, yelling excitedly. You giggle and cling to his neck.
"Well what are we waiting for?"
*****************
It was a couple of hours later and you were laying next to Eddie in his room on top of the covers, having just eaten what felt like your entire weight in pizza. Eddie was sitting up cross legged, shirtless, rolling a joint. You don't quite know how he had lost his shirt, but you certainly weren't complaining. Sneakily you were gazing up at him, looking at his lean frame, watching the muscles knot in his shoulders. Your gaze transferred to his face, that look of concentration that warmed your heart, his tongue sticking out the side of his mouth. A movie was playing, an awful horror b movie but your view was much more interesting. God, he's mesmerising.
He finishing rolling and handed it to you.
"Milady."
"Well what an honour good Sir!" You say back, taking the joint and putting it to your lips, motioning at Eddie to pass you the lighter. He flicks the lighter and holds the flame close, then pulls it away at the last minute. You huff at him, joint hanging from your mouth. He leans forward, and does it again! Pushing at him playfully you grab for the lighter as he holds it up in the air away from you.
"Aw come on Munson, no fair!" You jump up then and crawl in his lap, extending your arm to reach. He laughs at your feeble attempt, and you stand on the bed in front of him to grab it triumphantly and look down at Eddie.
He is not paying the slightest attention. His focus has been taken by your very short skirt at his eye level. You go to sit down again but he grabs the back of your thighs and leans into you, starting to kiss and lick. Moaning at the sensation, his hands wander up your skirt, onto your ass. He groans then. Eddie's utterly enthralled by you. Transfixed.
"You're wearing a thong, what are you doing to me sweetheart." Flipping your skirt up and cranking his neck, he tries to look at your ass.
You giggle and wiggle free, sitting on the bed cross legged in front of him, lighting the joint. "You are such a joker baby."
"And you are a tease." He smirks. A point we made. You take another drag then hand the joint to him.
Passing it back and forth, you enjoy a  comfortable silence, when he suddenly jumps up, surprising you.
"Shit I forgot. I got you a present!" He rummages through a drawer. "Here." Thrusting a small bundle of fabric at you. You open it up, intrigued. It's a Hellfire T shirt. You grin, looking at the design.
"Dustin will not shut up about you, so you have to come to the next one." He beams at you.
"That's adorable." You grin back, cheeks flushed.
"Turn it over, come on, look at the back!" He's practically bouncing.
You do. In smaller print, across the back in a cursive script, was the word Princess.
"Seriously? You are an ass." He laughs and drags you towards him for a kiss, pulling you into his lap.
"Are you trying to brand me Munson?"
He clings to your hips, enjoying the feel of you in his lap. Never want to let you go sweetheart.
"Hardly a brand, wait til I get a tattoo gun." He wiggles his eyebrows at you, "got to let everyone know your mine."
You look into his eyes and sit back a little on his legs, undoing the knot you had put in your T shirt, pulling it over your head. Your black lace bra is on display and Eddie is mesmerised, swallowing hard. Pulling the Hellfire t shirt on, you notice it's a little shorter, exposing just a sliver of midriff. You can faintly see the outline of your dark bra through the material.
"Its a little tight Eddie."
"I bet it is." He runs his finger across the exposed skin on your belly, biting his bottom lip.
"Eddie!" The grin on his features looks dipped in sin.
He leans towards you and runs his tongue where his fingers were, planting soft kisses, slowly lifting the hem of your top, planting open mouthed kisses on your midriff. His palms press into your hips and you feel the bite of his cold rings in your flesh, the feeling you've been waiting for.
He picks you up and lifts you, placing you on the bed on your back, beneath him. His head is between your legs as his hand starts rubbing up the inside of your thighs whist he is trailing kisses down your body. You moan low in your throat. Tendrils of arousal creep over your skin, blossoming from each touch from his rough hands.
Eddie groans into your legs. "Fuck, I really want to taste you sweetheart."
He looks up at you for confirmation. You smile and nod at him.
He carefully lifts up your skirt, taking in the sight of your little black panties. He gently runs his index finger down the front of them, rubbing softly. "These are pretty."
You moan back, moving your hips, trying to get more contact. You need to feel his touch desperately. He reaches under your skirt with both hands to pull your underwear down as you lift yourself up to help him. For a moment he just looks at you, taking it all in.
He moves towards you, leaning in and you feel his breath on your pussy. You nearly shake with anticipation and nerves. He plants a kiss just above, and stops.
"Is this still ok?" He looks up, searching your eyes.
You look down at him, slightly breathless, biting your lip. "Please Eddie, I want this." Eddie wishes he could take a picture and preserve the way you look forever.
You immediately feel his tongue run all the way up you then, starting to lap at your slit. You whimper at the feeling. It's so intense. He starts sucking on your clit with fervour, massaging it with his tongue.
"Holy Shit Eddie!" You cry out.
He grins into you, moving his thumb to replace his tongue, tracing patterns over you. "I've been thinking about doing this all day."
"I've never, fuck, I've never let anyone... do this before." You manage to say, enjoying the moment but embarrassed at the same time.
"Well I must be the luckiest guy in the fucking world." And he buries his face into you, licking and sucking, eating you out like you were his last meal. You're dripping wet, from your own juices as well as his tongue, you cant help but writhe on the bed, your back arching, the dirtiest moans exploding from your mouth.
He pushes two fingers into you suddenly and you gasp, your pussy clenching down on them, eager to have something inside of you. He sucks at your clit whilst he curls his fingers into your sweet spot almost immediately, and you are so overwhelmed by the glorious feeling that tears spring into your eyes.
There's no warning. You are suddenly riding your climax like an enormous wave, crying out his name, the pleasure coursing through your every vein. The only word you seem to know or want to say is his name, over and over, as if you were praying. It certainly feels like a religious experience. His fingers stay inside you, curling up to the hilt, and he's on his knees, watching you orgasm. You finally sink back down into the bed and he removes his hand from you, sitting back onto his heels, eyes shining.
Definitely falling for her.
"That ok princess?"
You manage a breathless nod, still gripping onto the pillow with your hands, pink faced and gasping.
"I could watch you cum over and over. Shit you are loud. Beautiful." he chuckles, his breath taken away by your reaction to him.
You babble something, incapable of words just yet. He grins at his handiwork and wipes his mouth, reaching over for the half a joint in the ashtray. He takes a hit and puts it to your lips. You take a long toke, hold it in, then breathe out.
"That's my girl. You want another one?" You still cant speak, just nod feebly and pucker your mouth. He laughs and puts the joint back in and let's you take another hit.
After a few minutes you manage to sit up a bit. He's smiling smugly at you.
"I don't think I've ever cum that hard in all my life." You say to him truthfully. He beams at you, so proud of himself, and lays next to you, cuddling you. He looks at you, brow furrowed, like he has something on his mind.
"You know you said you hadn't done that before... are you...." the question lingers in the air.
"No. I'm not a virgin if that's what you mean."
"Oh, ok, just skipped a step?"
"Yes. No. I mean, it's just, that is really..   intimate."
"And fucking isn't?"
You giggle at that. "Not in the same way. Going down on me, I don't know it just makes me feel, vulnerable. It's intimate in a different way, you know?"
"I can understand that." He nuzzles into your shoulder.
You turn to him and start undoing his belt and pulling his jeans off. He kicks them off his feet like they offend him and you feel his bulge through his boxers whilst you are kissing at his neck.
"You're really hard."
"You're really pretty."
Smiling, he pulls your top off, then your skirt. Unwrapping you slowly, like you are a gift. He holds you close, undoing your bra. It falls away, leaving you naked in his arms. You look up at him through your lashes, suddenly feeling shy. He lifts your chin and stares into your eyes. "You are really pretty. You look incredible right now." He kisses you full on the lips. Eddie's looking at you, his heart brimming. Is this even happening Munson?
"You're the pretty one, my pretty boy." You stroke his face. He beams at you.
'Ya think so?"
"Yep, super pretty."
You kiss him back, a long lingering kiss. Could this feeling go on forever? He strokes your hair and pulls you in tighter. You could stay like this for hours, held in his arms, the world around you melting away, insignificant compared to his touch. He runs his hands over you, stroking your skin, making your hairs stand on end.
Starting to kiss his neck, you leave little kitten licks, and move your way to his earlobe. You take it into your teeth and bite it gently, one hand tugging at his hair. He groans at that, leaning his head back, reaching to your exposed breast, tentatively rubbing your nipple.
"Oh fuck, Eddie," You run your hand slowly down his naked torso, lightly scratching with your nails, making your way to the band of his boxers. Your other hand scouts into his hair, entwining into his locks.
"Seems unfair, why aren't you naked?" You whisper in his ear.
"Because I'm clearly an idiot" he says to you, and pulls the boxers off in one swift motion, clearly very eager. You giggle, until you look down, frozen.
"Eddie, that's... impressive." You say to him, taking his dick into your hand, feeling the sheer girth of the thing. Its smooth, and rock solid. You can see the veins throbbing. You roll it into your hand slowly, rubbing lazily over it, examining it, unaware that he is unravelling underneath your careless touch.
"Fuck princess... I- fuck."
You look up and see his face, head tipped back in bliss, mouth open. Without thinking, You lean forward and take the tip of his cock into your mouth, running your tongue around in circles.
"Princess holy shit you're gonna kill me!" You laugh as he pulls you away, his stomach muscles clenching. "Seriously if you do that I'm just gonna cum right now." He looks at you hungrily, as if you were a meal for him to devour.
"Now that would be a damn shame. Do you have a condom?"
"Of course Milady, can't have you riding the knight without your steed!"
"Oh my God you nerd!"
You giggle as he jumps up and grabs them from his bedside, ripping one open with his teeth. He takes it out and rolls it down his length, rubbing it a couple of times.
"Lie back princess."
You snort and push him against the headboard.
"I thought you said I was riding? You lie back." And before he can say a word you're straddling him, his thighs between your legs. You hold his length and spit on it, rubbing your makeshift lube over his dick.
"Fuck that's filthy sweetheart." Eddie doesn't think he's ever been so turned on in his life.
Cockily you smile at him, moving onto his lap, your slit rubbing against his swollen member.
You look into his eyes, searching. "You sure you want this?"
"Aren't I suppose to be saying that? Of course I do, look at you, you're perfect."
You look deep into his eyes and slowly take his throbbing member into you, inch by inch, grapping his shoulder tightly for balance. You both moan in unison. He's stretching you, and you cry out softly. You keep pushing down until there's no more to take, utterly full.
"My God, Eddie..." tears start to form in your eyes.
"Hey, princess what's wrong?" His face is a picture of concern, holding his hand to your cheek.
"You're fucking... big Eddie." He cant help but smirk at that, stroking your arm.
"Its ok, it's ok, just, wait a minute. Just relax."
You feel your walls relaxing slightly, and you start to slowly rock into him. He feels incredible inside you, impossibly deep.
"Sweetheart, you feel, amazing. You're so fucking tight, wow." His voice is rough, heady, filled with lust. He grabs you by the hips and increases your pace. You squeal, grinding into him, your sopping wet pussy making downright pornographic noises. You join in, moaning and mewling, crying out his name.
Full on bouncing on his dick, Eddie looks so fucked out underneath you. Hair is plastered to his face, sweat covering his brow. He can't decide between staring at your lust blown eyes, watching your tits, or watching your pussy suck him in on each bounce.
You ride him harder, faster, grinding down so your clit is rubbing against him, adding to the pleasure. You feel fireworks, intense explosions of pleasure rocking into your body, crashing all around you. You scream his name, tears falling from your eyes, coming hard. Looking into his eyes, his face is pleading with you. It's a moment you wish could stretch on forever.
"Princess you're squeezing so tight, I'm gonna...fuck."
"Its ok Eddie, fuck me. I want to feel you cum." He moans loudly at that, holding you to him.
"Sorry princess, I just need to..." he pushes you down so that he's on top of you, and pushes your knees in the air. His pulsating member is pushing into your sweet spot making you see stars as he rolls his hips into you.
Your hand finds his, interlocking fingers as your other drags nails across his back. His movements start to become sloppy and you move your hips up to meet his thrusts, feeling him quiver above you, thrusting twice more before collapsing on you with a low groan, utterly spent.
You lie there, wrapped around him, arms, legs, just holding on. He looks at you, raises one hand to move a stray hair out of your face.
"That was... "
"Intense?" You supply, smirking at him, slightly breathless.
"Yeah you could say that, Jesus Christ." He moves and slides out of you, so he can dispose of the condom, then re-joins you in a tangle on the bed. He turns again to look at you. "I was gearing up to be all soft, I should have known you were gonna be a freak." He grinned. You hit him playfully on the arm.
"You have absolutely no idea Munson."
"Mmph" Eddie's laying there, grinning, eyes closed, stroking your side, thinking if there is a heaven, this is it.
"So you have a license for that?" You ask, smirking to yourself.
"For what?" Eddie asks, his eyes still closed.
"That fucking weapon you have between your legs." You tickle his side gently.
Eddie laughs and pulls you in closer, smelling your hair. "Now you can come over more often sweetheart, just to boost my ego." He kisses you on the forehead.
Yeah, feels like heaven.

No chapter today because even though yesterday netted over 1000 words, it was 1000 over five stories and that wasn't enough for a full chapter. So today you get another AU.
Steve is the foundling child of Titania and Oberon. You know, that thing that little issue they fighting over at the beginning of "A Midsummer's Night's Dream"? They make a habit of it over the years and Steve is their latest.
And like before, Titania is gifted the baby when the mother dies in child birth, and Oberon wants him to be his servant. They set up house in Hawkins because that's where Steve was born. Father is who knows. Didn't care enough to stick around.
Steve's childhood isn't exactly idyllic, not with them still fighting over him, but it's a good life nonetheless, never really wanting for anything. And even though he's still human, hanging out with the king and queen of the faeries is going to rub off you in a lot of ways.
So once he hits puberty, it's like he was hit with the pretty stick. Everyone starts fawning over him.
He gets to high school and clocks Eddie. He walks right up to him and says, "I know what you are, who you are. And you better stay the hell away from me unless you want to die." And walks off.
Eddie is confused as hell.
Fast forward to Vecna and they defeat him. Only Titania is pissed. Because if there is anything that could entice the Queen of Faeries and that's a pretty young man. Like say...Henry Creel?
A non-munched on Eddie and the rest of the party is staring at the king and queen in shock. Because (and let's sprinkle in a little "The Sandman" in here for funsies) Titania gifted Henry control over the abandoned realm of Destruction to play in when El banished him there by accident.
Steve's pissed and picks up his nail bat. He tells them that he's human enough for the iron nails not to hurt him, but he can't say the same for them.
He takes off his shirt and sprouts wings, god damned, honest to God, faerie wings. He walks over to Eddie presses a kiss on his lips and says, "I hope you forgive me." And he leaps into battle with them.
The party is confused as hell. Well almost everyone. Eddie and Robin are cursing up a storm.
The party has no idea who the two new problems are.
"Oberon and Titania," Eddie breathes. "That son of bitch."
Dustin is "What!"
Everyone else is "Who?"
And so he explains "A Midsummer's Nights Dream" to them and they all get it now.
"Faeries don't exist!" Mike sneers.
"Yes they do!" Robin says. "My great, great, great grandmother was a faerie!"
Eddie face palms. "Let me guess, a lot of bird and flower names in your family?"
She nods excitedly.
"How did you find out about Steve? Because you weren't surprised when he faeried out," Eddie says.
"Russian truth serum," she says proudly. "Not so great on humans, works surprisingly well on the fae. Who knew?"
There is a lot of yelling at that, but Eddie shuts them up. "And you're okay with that?"
She shrugs and holds up her hands. "Apparently me being gay wasn't the biggest reveal on the floor of the bathroom."
The party erupts again.
Eddie looks over their shoulders to see that Steve is struggling against his foster parents.
"Robin, I need you to boost me," he says seriously.
"Oh hell no!" she screams at him. "I know who you are, and they will kill you."
He thumbs over his shoulder at Steve. "You want him to fight them by himself?"
Robin sighs. "No."
He backs up to run, but she stops him.
"Take off your boots!"
Eddie frowns. "Why?"
"You're not going to need them," she replies, "and I'm not touching those muddy monstrosities."
Eddie throws his hands in the air and immediately starts yanking at his laces. He pulls them off and thrusts them at Dustin. He takes Steve's ax from him.
"Is this cold iron?" Eddie asks.
"It's steel," Dustin says.
Eddie purses his lips. "Is. This. Cold. Iron?"
Dustin shrugs. "As close as you can get in this day and age, I guess."
Eddie nods. He's muttering to himself about how long it's been since he's done this and how the wood of the ax handle should protect him.
Nancy rushes forward and places her hand on his chest. "Just what are you planning?"
Eddie pushes her off him. "Helping Steve."
He looks to Robin and she nods. He takes off his leather jacket and hands it to Nancy. Then he runs at Robin. He leaps on her interlaced hands and she boosts him into the air.
He whirls and spins in mid-air, sprouting blood red wings. His hands and feet, taint black. Horns unfurl from the top of his head.
"Whoa!" Lucas says. "Is Eddie a faerie, too?"
Robin shakes her head. "No. No one knows for sure what he is. Sometimes he's on the side of the king and queen, sometimes he's not. Right now and for the last few centuries decidedly, not."
"So who is he?" Will asks in awe as he watches Eddie make turns and weaves as he joins the fight against Oberon and Titania.
"He has many names," Robin says solemnly. "Hobgoblin, Robin Goodfellow, or more commonly? Puck."
Dustin's eyes go wide and his mouth drops.
"You guys are so fucking lucky that he likes you," Robin says bitterly.
Dustin can only agree.
*
Steve and Eddie win and everyone is back at the Wheeler basement and they all have questions. Lots and lots.
The first thing anyone says is Eddie. "You being a foundling of the fae makes all of Steve in high school make so much sense."
Steve looks down and blushes.
"How so?" Max asks.
Eddie starts counting off on his fingers, "The douchebag persona, the house parties usually at someone else's house, and if they were at his house, Tommy would buy the weed, the everyone fawning over you, and that hell of a warning, it was all so that I wouldn't come over to your house, wasn't it?"
"What now?" Mike asks.
Steve clears his throat. "He's right. If Pu-I mean Eddie came over to my house, he would immediately know who my parents were, and they would be able to sense who Eddie was. And since Eddie was going through high school I wasn't about to narc on him and get him killed."
"Oh my god, I dated a fucking faerie!" Nancy cries.
And the room goes silent. Will looks at his shoes and Jonathan glares at her.
She stops for a second. "Oh god! Not like that. Although maybe a little like that considering Steve kissed Eddie, but I meant a literal faerie."
Steve shrugs. "I like either."
Jonathan frowns. "Wait, how did Nancy escape the faerieness? Because seriously, compared to that--" he waves at Steve, "I'm nothing."
Steve shrugs again. "Grief. Or trauma. I'm only a human raised by faeries, I'm not really one myself. Yeah, I've got the wings and the glamour of a faerie but I'm not one."
"Is there an Eddie Munson?" Dustin asks.
Eddie half shrugs. "Yeah, him and his father are out boosting cars in Texas."
Erica eyes him skeptically. "And the guy you've been saying is your uncle, what is he?"
"A lonely man who wanted kids of his own," Eddie says softly, "who knew that if Eddie stayed in his father's care would turn out just like him. So I pretended to be Eddie for him. I made sure there was always enough food to go on the table and roof over our heads. If he got low on money, a shift at the plant would open up for him to take or the reversing of a bank error."
Everyone fell silent.
*
And that's all I have for the moment, this is just me info dumping. But maybe some day I'll expand on this.
Tagging because for some reason not a lot of people saw this yesterday.

Things I would like to see in Stranger Things 5:
- Since Robin has done quite a few doodles on her red converse, I like to think she's quite good at drawing, so that can be a way for her to start up a conversation with Will
- And then Will confides in Robin about being gay and being in love with Mike because he had a feeling that she was like him and Robin confirming she was indeed like him and becoming his gay mentor (like you don't understand I NEED ROBIN AND WILL TO HAVE A CONVO ABOUT BEING GAY)
- Will (finally!) tells the party that he's gay (and Byler becomes a thing) but not before Robin comes out to the party in order to make Will feel more comfortable and to show him that they will accept him because that's totally something she would do as his gay mentor
- More Steve and Robin being "Platonic with a Capital P" cause we didn't get enough in st4
- Hopper and Joyce trying to corral the kids and control the situation as best as they can
- Joyce being a mother figure to Robin like she is with the rest of the kids and Robin becoming better acquainted with El, Jonathan, and ESPECIALLY Will because she didn't really get a chance to get to know the California crew before they packed up and moved so ya
- El traveling into Vecna's/Henry's/One's mind in order to be able to wake Max up and free her from his control because he said his victims stay with him in his mind so like 👀
- Max wakes up after El successfully rescues her from Vecna/Henry/One but she is severely incapacitated, like she's probably blind in one or both eyes and is going to need assistance walking for the rest of her life and is going to be stuck in the hospital for a few more weeks (possibly months)
- How and when the Upside Down was created
- What Will's connection to Vecna/Henry/One and the Upside Down really entails and how that could affect both him and The Party during this final stretch
- Vecna/Henry/One, the Demogorgons, the Demodogs, the Demobats, the Mindflayer, and the Upside Down along with whatever other monsters are down there get destroyed once and for all because I don't think shutting the gates is gonna do it this time
- Kali comes back to help El defeat Vecna/Henry/One
- Murray tries to figure Steve and Robin out but he can't because he's never seen anything like the two of them and it frustrates him to no end
- Then when he tries to psychoanalyze Robin she does it right back to him because she's a freaking genius and everyone is in awe of her because they've never seen Murray speechless before
- KAREN WHEELER DESERVES TO KNOW THE TRUTH ABOUT EVERYTHING THAT'S BEEN GOING ON IN HAWKINS!!!!!!!!
- And I hate to say it but if Steve dies Robin dies too because despite the fact that she is my favorite character (close seconds are Nancy and Will) Steve is her platonic soulmate and they are codependent on one another and one just simply cannot survive without the other
- Like it would absolutely break my heart to have to see Robin try to live without her dingus of a best friend and to have to see Steve try to live without his wing woman of a bestie so if one dies both of them die
- Lucas defending Max's unconscious body with Erica from whatever creatures from the Upside Down want to try and take and/or kill her
- Mike and El break up because El realizes she needs to be her own person and because Mike is in love with Will
- Dustin is even more protective and stubborn about Steve heading into danger because of what happened to Eddie and he absolutely refuses to leave his side through the entire season
- RONANCE RONANCE RONANCE RONANCE (i know it's probably not gonna be canon but a girl can dream)
- Robin finally getting an onscreen kiss with her girlfriend or a girl she really likes (cough cough Nancy cough cough) (sorry Vickie but I feel like ur just too similar to Robin)
- And if Steve doesn't die (hopefully🤞) then please please please DO NOT have Steve and Nancy get back together after she breaks up with Jonathan when she finds out he lied to her about Emerson along with everything else that's been piling up between them
- Instead Nancy decides she's better off not being in a relationship (or better yet she gets together with Robin) and focuses on what she's absolutely sure she wants which is getting her journalism degree at Emerson (and Robin decides to go there too if they become a thing 😊)
- Because Nancy Wheeler is a smart, strong, fierce, badass, independent woman and she does not need to be kept in a cage by becoming a housewife who gives birth to SIX KIDS
- NANCY WHEELER DOES NOT WANT SIX KIDS
- I REPEAT, NANCY WHEELER DOES NOT WANT SIX KIDS
- Steve and Robin move in together and attend a community college together (Steve's either getting a teaching degree or a child psychology degree while Robin is doing something with linguistics) or they follow Nancy to Boston because Robin and Nancy are absolutely smitten with one another :)
- Meeting Steve and Robin's respective parents
Ok I think that's all for now 😅

Christmas Lights
Tumblr media
Eddie Munson x Reader
𝐒𝐔𝐌𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐘: The day before Christmas didn't seem to be going well. The night was your enemy but your dear and sweet boyfriend was there to make your Christmas light up.
𝐖𝐀𝐑𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐒: So much fluff, no use of Y/N, your surname is Williams, fem!reader, nightmares, themes about photophobia, violence, themes about the Upside Down, Eddie is so cute.
𝐀/𝐍: Merry Christmas everyone! Have a good day! Sorry for my english this is not my native language. Please support and reblog! Hope you enjoy this one. (DIVIDER NOT MINE)
Tumblr media
You'll suddenly wake up panting. You were sweaty, your breathing ragged as your heart raced. You calmed down as soon as you realized you were in your bed. You turned to see Eddie's quiet, sleeping figure; you were relieved that he hadn't woken up because of you. You looked at him for a while trying to eliminate those bad images from your head. His bare back with the various tattoos that made him simply magnificent and you couldn't help but look at his curls resting on his shoulders. You wanted to get close to him and wrap your own arms around him, but you didn't want to wake him, you didn't want to disturb him because of your nightmares.
Lately you have been invaded by nightmares of the Upside Down. That fateful day when you found yourself in that remote and rotten place you were terrified. The nightmare was always the same. You were alone in front of Victor Creel's house, then the demo-bats surrounding the structure accompanied by the red stormy sky was terrifying... but never as terrifying as seeing Vecna's victims fall from the sky in front of your feet, starting from Chrissy. It was devastating to see her eyes gouged out and her bones broken while her face was desperate. You couldn't imagine how much she screamed for release trying to escape from Vecna. And the worst thing was that you weren't there to help her...
You didn't know what you could have done, but if you had been with her you could have done something, anything to get her out of that hell.
More victims appeared before you including Max and finally you. Luckily Max was saved before Vecna took her, but you had started to have symptoms of his curse. But now Vecna had defeated him and the Upside Down had become a distant memory for everyone. Eddie was no longer a suspect for killing Chrissy and was now free. Everything was fine now. It was still Christmas Eve, the night would be dark if it weren't for the Christmas lights that illuminated the Williams house.
You weren't at your house, but at your maternal grandparents' house in Boston. For these Christmas holidays your grandparents have been desperately trying to convince you to stay with them and to invite Eddie, so they can finally meet him. Your boyfriend enjoyed the hospitality, above all he felt appreciated and not judged by his "freak" appearance. This warmed your heart and you calmed down; at the beginning you wanted to stay at home, not go out because of past events that had left a mark of fear, but Eddie was close to you, even though he too had been traumatized by the Upside Down, telling you that a holiday in company wouldn't hurt you and that maybe it would help you forget those horrible events.
On the one hand he was right. The month of December proved to be more radiant than ever. You did so many things and when you went out to look at the shops it was the end of the world, especially when you couldn't take your eyes off the Christmas decorations that sent a certain warmth to your heart making you feel at home.
Too bad it wasn't so easy to forget. Those terrifying images made you jump out of bed every time and you couldn't help but remember them more and more. And then his voice...
You placed a hand on your chest, clutching the fabric of your pajamas. His face contaminated by that desolate place, his steps slow but loud while his hands grew bigger and bigger turning into claws. You felt yourself trembling at the echo of your name as he looked at you with those piercing eyes.
“Hey” You heard from behind you and realized that Eddie had just woken up. Your boyfriend sat up with a worried look noticing your shining eyes and the evident sweat on your forehead "Everything okay?" He asked you even though he already knew the answer. You didn't want to lie to him because you knew it would be useless, he knew you and faced with the evidence he couldn't tell him a lie, you shook your head "Another nightmare?" This time you nodded letting him come closer to you wrapping an arm around your waist “Sorry if I woke you up” You tried to keep your voice low remembering your relatives still asleep in the other rooms. Eddie placed his hand on yours and then gave you a light kiss on the temple "Don't worry sweetheart, I prefer taking care about you" he revealed but you didn't want to "No, you don't have to worry about me, I'll fall back asleep soon, you go back to sleep" You looked at the sheets, not wanting to meet his sweet eyes that would surely make you melt just by looking at them.
You didn't want Eddie to spend the whole night with you just to try to get you back to sleep. You weren't a child! You could have easily managed all this on your own and without bothering others. Eddie was always close to you and as much as you appreciated these sweet gestures from him, you always ended up feeling guilty. The days after Eddie ended up being more tired and you didn't like that, he worried too much about you and this time you wanted to handle it alone.
Eddie remained silent at your statement and then got out of bed with a quick step. You looked at him confused as he left the guest room and came back right after "Eds? What are you doing-" he didn't even give you time to finish "Come with me" he said holding out his hand showing a certain smirk. You, still confused about what his little brain had told him to do, convinced yourself by grabbing his hand and making him drag you to the living room "Shh, Eddie don't make any noise!" You told him as he just giggled like an idiot.
After the dark corridor you found yourself in the large living room with the Christmas tree full of colored lights and with the well-made nativity scene with warm lights like yellow and orange. It was fantastic. You didn't remember it like that. The Christmas decorations in the dark had another aspect that you would surely have defined as magical. You didn't say a word until you felt the metalhead's arms wrap around your waist, you could well feel his lips pressing on your neck softly "I know, I like the lights too" he said and you let out a smile. You didn't know what he wanted to do but you were curious to find out "I would look at them for hours if only I didn't suffer from photophobia" he specified and you turned around quickly "Are your eyes hurting now?" You immediately asked "Nah, don't worry I'm fine" you let out a sigh of relief.
“Anyway…I know that maybe you don't want to talk about it, I mean about your nightmare-” he began, moving from the position he was in and standing in front of you “-And I also know that you don't want to be helped, but I want you to know..." He stopped to take your hands, he placed one over his shoulder while the other held her close to him "...That Vecna surely never made you dance under the Christmas lights. In short, if I were inside the head of a sweet girl like you, I would show her some nice dance moves" you seriously gasped feeling how his large hand placed itself on your hip. Edward Munson? Dance? Okay, something's wrong here. You tried to hold back your smile failing miserably while on Eddie's face his red cheeks were evident "Eddie slow dancing? Ok, who are you and where did you put my Edward" He raised his eyebrow and as he slowly you swayed he came closer to your face "Oh well, I kidnapped him. The truth is that I am Vecna and I came to get your Eddie who has now become my slave forever" his tone was the same as he used in his D&D sessions and that made you feel not good, more.
You laughed as your noses touched “Should I be scared?” You played along and he thought about it "I couldn't say, I could kidnap you too and make you mine forever, or I could reunite you with your Eddie and make you my slave" you couldn't do anything about it, you loved this boy madly. Only he could make you smile like this and this evening he was surprising you more than usual. The feeling was magical as you both started laughing while still trying to keep your voice low "Anyway, leaving everything aside, don't tell anyone about this. I'm not a skilled dancer and let's say that slow ones don't suit the my person, take it as a tribute because I'm the most amazing boyfriend in the world" he said and you gave him a light kiss on his chest "What did I do to have you" You rested your head there and then felt your boyfriend hug you" It's the sweetest thing anyone has ever said to me" he confessed, peppering you with kisses on the cheek.
After a few minutes of silence you spoke "He..." Eddie let out a confused sound "In the nightmare, Vecna showed me everyone he killed, including my corpse, saying that I would be next" still attached to him you could hear his heartbeat as your eyes were fixed on the well-lit nativity scene. Eddie took a while to answer and in the meantime he limited himself to stroking your hair "We defeated him. He's dead. He can never get you sweetie. If he ever comes back we'll all make sure nothing happens to you, okay?" You nodded "And then I can protect you too, I managed to survive an attack of demo-bats" You raised your head to look at him "Do they still hurt you by the way?" He shook his head "No, but I seriously thought I was going to die" you stood on tiptoe giving the boy a kiss on the cheek "Luckily it didn't happen" your boyfriend smiled and then gave you a kiss on the lips, and then another and another and yet another "Okay okay, that's enough of stealing hearts" with two fingers you squeezed his cheeks stopping him "But why? it's Christmas and I'm not getting any presents?" You look at him "Christmas?" You turned to the clock and realized that midnight had struck "Merry Christmas sweetheart" he said holding you close to him again while you slipped your arms around his neck "Merry Christmas silly" you gave him a another kiss amidst those colored Christmas lights.

I see your monsters—I see your pain. Tell me your problems, I'll chase them away!
Tumblr media
@history-of-stories this is based on the headcanon I mentioned earlier about Robin knowing Steve misses his old friends. Enjoy.
-------------------------------------------------------
Steve knew that he wasn't supposed to miss Tommy and Carol.
He knew that it would look bad on him if he admitted he did.
He knew very well how the Party, Nancy, Jonathan, and the rest of the Upside Down crew and the kids he'd gone to school with saw them.
How they used to (and some still do) see him.
But Steve just couldn't help. Just couldn't stop missing them.
And he tried—God knows he how he tried— but he never could stop himself from fully missing them.
Because he'd known them almost his entire life and remembered how they were with him even if others didn't.
He remembered how they went out of their way to include him even though they really didn’t have to sometimes.
He remembered third wheeling to the snow ball with them in middle school and how Carol insisted he dressed up even though he didn't have a date—telling him that she just knew he'd get all the girls in Highschool while Tommy mumbled his agreement.
He remembered sharing his lunch with Tommy and Carol, and the weekends that turned into three day sleepovers.
He remembered Tommy shoving a kid on the playground who'd shoved Steve first and Carol letting him brush her doll's hair even though no one else (even Tommy!) Was allowed to touch it.
He remembered crying to them when he was old enough to understand why his mom always went with his dad on his business trips and how he hated him (hated both of them) for it.
He remembered the time Tommy threw a book at a particularly mean English teacher they'd had when Steve was young and still struggling to read even though everyone else seemed to have it down.
He remembered the death glares Carol sent his worst ex.
So yeah. Steve Harrington missed Tommy Hagan and Carol Perkins even though he knew he shouldn't have. Even though he knew the party—and most people, to be honest—would never understand.
But he never told anyone.
Because he'd been the one to throw away the relationship and didn't have to a right to be sad (so he told himself) or to get mad when Jonathan or Nancy or anyone else somehow ended up going on rant about them or when Hopper would get an exasperated look on his face when they were mentioned, muttering 'those two.'
Even if it pained him to hear.
He never said anything.
He couldn’t afford to rock the boat—not with the few people he liked in town that liked him back.
He didn't even tell Robin even though he knew she'd have wanted to know.
He honestly shouldn't have been surprised she figured it out.
-------------------------------------------------------
It was a couple of months after Vecna was defeated and Steve threw a party for the Upside Down Crew so they could celebrate that Max and Eddie were healing.
Steve even invited Eddie's band mates (despite knowing that they didn't like him) before he went on and did what he usually did before having guests over.
Deep clean the house, make snacks, and hide all pictures that would stir up a stink (all the pictures with Tommy and Carol in. Which was hard considering that they took up the space in most his childhood photos and house—even after he'd replaced a few with pictures of the Upside Down Crew).
It wasn't easy but he still did it. Hiding all the pictures under his bed.
Or so he thought.
Because after everyone left, Robin handed him the singular photo he missed.
(It was his favorite one.
The one taken at his first ever birthday party—his seventh one.
He, Tommy, and Carol were in Tommy's kitchen—surrounding a cake from Benny's Burgers where Mrs. Hagan worked—all huddled together.
Steve's hair was a mess and his face was pink from all the running around and playing and laughing he'd been doing. Several of his front teeth were still missing from a little league accident from the month before. But he was smiling wide anyway as he swatted at Tommy, who was giving him a noogie while Carol giggled off to the side.
Their parents—Tommy and Carol's respective parents, not Steve's. Never Steve's—could be seen in the window reflection vaguely. All smiling fondly as Mr. Hagan took the picture.
A couple of small gifts on the table that were still more meaningful than everything his parents had ever given him except maybe his car which he was pretty sure his grandfather actually got him.
Little decorations hung all around them).
Steve froze, silently cursing himself for missing one. Thinking about how upset the others would be when they found out because they wouldn't understand—no one ever did—as he waited for the anger.
But there was hone.
"It's okay for you to miss them, you know?"
Robin told him softly, a slightly pained look on her face as she no doubt remembered the various small comments she and the others had made about them.
Looking like she was gonna cry when he said nothing.
Steve didn't even get the chance to apologize before finding himself in a bone crushing hug—one that told him he had never had anything to hide from her in the first place.
Robin never spoke a bad word about Tommy and Carol again that Steve didn't initiate with him in earshot again.
And Steve loved her for it.

Warning: Angst, sadness, a happy ending, though. It's pretty long, too.
Steve doesn't tell the party about his dreams. He wasn't sure if they were nightmares or. . . something else. They all start and end the same way. He's walking that path in the upside down like they did before, talking and laughing with Eddie leaning in close. That doesn't change, but sometimes it does. Sometimes, it's Eddie still begging him to go to Nancy. Other times, it's Eddie calling to him, begging Steve to choose him, that he's right here. There are quite a few where Eddie still says the same thing about Nancy, but then it is Steve who is the one changing it up.
"I don't want Nancy, Eddie, I want you," Steve would say softly and then Eddie is moving away from him with Steve trying to reach out, to grab him.
The dream ends with Steve lying in bed and Eddie hovering over him, floating inches from his face.
"I'm still here, big boy, come and get me," Eddie smirked and then kissed him.
Steve would wake up, chasing the kiss, and the tears would burst out of him when he realized that wasn't there. It's been months since his death since they defeated Vecna. Everyone moved on, so why couldn't he? Well, everyone except Wayne, that is, and Dustin was moving forward, but he was also still having trouble with it. It was difficult, but every Friday night, Steve went with Dustin to have dinner with Wayne to let him know that he wasn't alone.
One evening, it was just him and Wayne, Dustin had been sick. They ate dinner in front of the TV and discussed sports, and then they talked about Eddie. With a smile on his face, Wayne would tell Steve how much like Eddie Dustin is, and then they would exchange stories about them as if to compare. Wayne would tell him about how Eddie, even though he didn't like sports, he would sit here with Wayne as he drew in his sketchbook or his d&d notebook. He didn't like sports, but he always made sure Wayne didn't have to watch it alone. Steve had been quick to offer to watch it with him, and Wayne laughed before pulling him into a hug.
Eventually, he was seeing Wayne twice a week for dinner and sports. He would get to hear all about Eddie, from the time he was a baby and up. Apparently, he was always a dramatic, energetic person who had a penchant for storytelling even when he was a toddler. He would just babble and wave his arms around. Wayne had helped look after him since he was a baby, one of the greatest joys of his life. After a moment, Wayne had paused and asked why Steve seemed to eat up stories about Eddie.
"I was too late. . .too late in getting to know him, and I wish that I had because he could have. . .I think he could have been. . .he could have been something," Steve had choked up. "We could have been something."
"I loved my brother, but he was a goddamn idiot who didn't know what he had. Eddie's mother. . .she met him first and so, she fell in love with him. When I met her, well, I thought I had met an angel. My brother, all he saw was someone that he could use. . .manipulate. Some days I wished that I had met her first and other days I am glad I didn't because her choice gave me Eddie. Most of all, I wished that I had told her about how I felt when she was alive. We both waited too long, and we both paid the price for it. You're not alone in that," Wayne had told him, and Steve hugged him.
He remembered crying hard that night just as he was crying now. He had made a confession that night, something he had never told anyone. Not even Robin. Speaking of Robin, he had to get up to get ready for work. She had taken off a year for him, even though he had told her that wasn't necessary. Robin and the others never seemed to believe him when he said that he was fine. He ate, stayed in shape, went to work, and ferried everyone like usual. Maybe they didn't like the hair and the beard. His hair was longer, tickling his shoulders, and the beard. . . Well, it was more than a five o'clock shadow, hugging his face. So, what if he stopped using his product in his hair? He didn't see the point anymore.
"Well, that was rude," Robin spoke softly as she leaned against the counter.
They had been in the middle of their shift when a girl had walked in and tried to talk him up. He thought he had been gentle with her.
"Was that not nice?" Steve asked.
"The words were nice, your face, however. . .," Robin trailed off. "You know that was the first girl in a long time that had the balls to approach you. Every other girl who tried, you would growl and grump at. I mean, you literally growled at a couple of them."
"I'm just not interested," Steve replied.
"Yeah, why is that again? Is because of Nancy? No, that can't be it," Robin said. "You've been like this since Eddie died. If I didn't know any better, I'd say - "
"What do you want, Robin?!" Steve asked as he slammed a tape down.
"I want Steve back, and you're not him. You're like an empty shell except for when you're with Wayne. Dustin tells me that it's almost like you're you again when you're at dinner. I miss you, Steve. We all do.  I miss my best friend. I wish you could talk to me," Robin said, teary eyes.
"I'm right here, Robin," Steve replied.
"No, Steve, you're not," Robin told him and walked into the backroom.
When Steve got home, haunted by Robin's words, he looked in the mirror. For the first time, he could see what Robin saw. A man who didn't care. Who couldn't care. The bags under his eyes were a deep purple, and there was barely any light in his eyes, none at all. The beard wasn't bad but the hair. . .ugh, it needed a good wash. The length looked good, at least. Maybe he should grow it out some more. He looked into his eyes again and winced. They were haunted. . .
Dustin was crying over Eddie's bloody body when they got to him, and it was like a punch to his gut. When Steve saw Eddie's unseeing big brown eyes, he fell to his knees and tried to bring him back. It sucked, he thought, for a first kiss. Does it really count, though? All he could think, as Nancy and Robin pulled him away, was about how much he had failed. He failed Dustin, and he failed Eddie.
Steve let out a scream and punched the mirror. He was slow, always too slow. He was too slow to save Eddie and was too slow to realize what was truly important. His hand was bleeding, and he sighed before pulling out the glass, then put a stop to the bleeding. They had just left his body there. It was probably eaten by the demogorgons now. . .if they were still alive. It was a thought that ate at his own insides every single day. He had to know, had to end this even if it was a suicide mission. He shaved his beard, took a shower, and waited for night to fall completely.
After Vecna was destroyed and Max was brought back from the brink of death, her sight mostly intact, the town stitched itself back together. . . For the most part. There was only one gate left open, and that was the gate in Eddie's old trailer. No one knows why that gate is still open, but it's guarded, and no one lives in the trailer park anymore. It was loosely guarded at night, Steve would go there sometimes and watch it, as if he were guarding it himself. Or maybe he was always waiting for something big to happen. Steve showed up, geared up like he had been that day with the brown leather jacket, but this time he had thrown Eddie's vest over top of it. His hair was long enough that he could pull it into a small ponytail at the base of his skull. With a determined look on his face, he slipped into the trailer through the back window and paused inside Eddie's room. Wayne had taken most of his stuff, but not all. There were still some signs that Eddie Munson had lived there.
He took a moment and headed into the living room where the gate was waiting for him. He was going to bring his body back. He knew what kind of state it would be in when he got there, but he didn't care. He was going to bring it home. . .bring Eddie home and maybe then. . . .maybe then Steve will get some closure. Maybe then he'll get some sleep. Suddenly, a vine shot out and wrapped itself around Steve’s waist, pulling him into the Upside Down. Steve screamed as he was set gently on the floor of the trailer, and he looked up to find. . . Barb is standing over him.
"Hey, Harrington, took you long enough," Barb's voice spoke teasingly. "Been calling you for months now."
"What the fuck?" Steve asked and Barb laughed, her skin gray.
She went on to explain that she was both Barb and not Barb. She explained that part of Barb was preserved in the Upside Down. There were more things that Barbish had explained, but he had stopped listening after she told him that Eddie was alive.
"Bring me to him," Steve had demanded, and so she did.
Funnily enough, Eddie was lying in Steve's house in Steve's bed. A funky looking vine was down his throat, almost as if he were on life support.
"His wounds have healed, and you can take him home. We can not keep the gate open for much longer. We are still rebuilding," Barbish said. "We were never meant to cause harm. That was our number one rule. Henry came to us. We thought, we thought he was of need and we took care of him, but then he took advantage of our kindness, and he twisted our animals to become something evil, to serve his purpose. We didn't have the power to stop him, nor could we break our own law. We couldn't save Barb while also protecting the boy from Henry's influence, so Barb decided for us. She made the choice to save the boy.  When Eddie fell, we saw a chance to make things right. We tried to call out to you, but we didn't understand until now how deep a denial goes when you see something as fact."
"Can I take the tube out?" Steve asked, tears falling, and Barbish nodded.
He pulled the tube out, and Eddie took a breath without waking up. Steve caressed his cheek and cried when he felt his pulse beneath his fingertips.
"Steve, can you give Nancy something from me?" Barbish asked, holding a letter out to him. "Tell her I said I'm sorry. Also. . .you're not as bad I thought you were."
"Can't you come with us?" Steve asked.
"I can't. Not all Barb, remember? I'm part of the Upside Down now. That's what you call it, right?" Barbish asked. "Cute. Now, get the hell out of here. Please."
Steve tucked the note safely into his pocket and picked Eddie up into his arms. He was transported through the gate safely by the vines again, Eddie safely tucked against him and watched as the gate closed behind them after they left. He frowned when he thought about how he was going to do this to get Eddie out of the trailer. He set Eddie down gently and pulled the mattress off of Wayne's old foldout, and managed to squeeze it out the back window. He picked Eddie up and tossed him out the window, wincing. He looked out the window and saw him sprawled out on the mattress. He still wasn't awake. Steve breathed a sigh of relief and climbed out carefully before picking up Eddie again. He threw him over his shoulder and hurried as quietly as he could to his could. He was pulling out when the guards came running around back.
As soon as he entered his house, he brought Eddie upstairs to get him cleaned up. He wasn't going to be a pervert or anything, but he knew those clothes must be sticking to him. He had managed to remove the jacket, but he had to cut off the shirt. He was tossing away the remains when he heard it.
"Damn, Harrington, if you wanted me out of my clothes, all you had to do was ask," Eddie's voice croaked.
Steve turned around to find Eddie blinking sleepily at him. He had shifted some and was now leaning against the bathtub. Steve collapsed next to him, burrowed his face into his neck, and sobbed. It was embarrassing how much he had cried until Eddie hugged him back and cried even harder than him. Steve pulled back, and everything that happened over the last year came bursting out of him. He told him how hard it was to move forward, how he dreamed about him every night, and how he and Dustin took care of Wayne. He told him how fucking mad he was at Eddie that he didn't stick to the plan and how mad he was that Steve himself was too slow.
"Thank you," Eddie said quietly.
"For what?" He asked.
"For taking care of Uncle Wayne," Eddie replied.
"You should know. . .that he showed us all of your baby photos," Steve said with a smirk.
"Goddamnit!"
Then they burst into laughter and laughed for what seemed like hours.
"I need to brush my teeth and then I need to fucking shower. Care to join me, big boy?"
"Fuck. Yes."
The next morning came, and Eddie was still here, resting comfortably on Steve’s chest and wearing his clothes. His mouth was open, and drool was pouring out onto Steve’s shirt. Fuck, he was cute. He slipped away to make a couple of calls and when he was done, he felt a pair of arms wrap around him after he hung up the phone. Eddie clutched his hips, spun him around, and attached his lips to his. Steve wanted to cry again and damn it, shouldn't he be out of tears? He could keep kissing Eddie forever. He sighed against Eddie's lips and they broke apart.
"This was was the worst year of my fucking life," Steve whispered.
"I'm sorry," Eddie replied.
"You're here now," Steve said.
Eddie had disappeared into the kitchen once Steve told him the rest of the party would be arriving shortly. He wanted to make a dramatic entrance. He opened the door when they knocked, a wide grin on his face causing Robin to yell.
"Oh my God! Your face!" Robin exclaimed.
"I thought you wanted me to be happy, Robin," Steve said sarcastically.
"I think she's talking about the fact that we can see your face and the fact that you washed your hair," Dustin said. "What's got you so happy?"
"Come on in, and I'll explain everything," Steve said with a giggle.
"Okay, it's creepy how happy you are. You've finally lost it and you're planning on killing us," Max said. "Hopper, can you arrest someone if you think that they might become a serial killer?"
"No," Hopper said, giving him a strange looking before following Max inside.
"Thanks for that, Maxine, I'm a little less happy now," Steve said, but there was still a spring in his step as he ushered everyone into the living room. "Okay, you can come on out now."
He paused, waiting for Eddie to come in, but there was nothing. Steve was suddenly afraid. Shit. Maybe it was all a dream. Then came the sound of feet slapping against the floor as he ran, and everyone tensed up. Eddie burst into the room, his arms spread wide and a grin on his face.
"I'm back, bitches!" Eddie exclaimed.
Dustin started to run toward him, but Hopper caught him before he could reach him. The teenager exploded into a string of curses, which caused a chain reaction of questions from the others. There was no stopping Wayne from pushing forward and pulling Eddie into a hug, crying tears of joy. Once he got everyone calmed down and El made sure it was Eddie, Steve explained everything from the dreams to Barb. Nancy had burst into tears at that, crying harder when Steve handed her the letter with Barb's hand writing on it.
"There's a part of her still alive, Nancy," Steve said. "She said that what happened to her wasn't our fault. She said that we all made choices that night."
Nancy hugged Steve, and everyone let them have their moment before Joyce spoke up.
"I'm glad that everything worked out, Steve, but what you did was pretty reckless," Joyce said gently.
"Says the woman who went all the way to Russia to break Hopper out of a Russian prison," Steve said.
"That's different," Joyce said.
"Is it?"
"Oh."
The kids were busy talking to Eddie when Steve mouthed to Joyce: 'worth it', and she smiled, understanding now. Robin suddenly leaned heavily into his side.
"You're back," Robin said.
"I am."
"I'm happy for you, dingus."
A few days later. . .
"I'm just. . .happy."
Eddie was curled up into Steve’s side as he doodled in his notebook, his tongue sticking out. Steve gazed at him, a crooked smile on his face. Wayne sat in the armchair and glanced at them. His boys. He never got his second chance, but his boy did, and that was the most important thing, wasn't it?
"Aren't you guys supposed to be watching the game? Why the hell are you both watching me? Do I have something stuck in my hair again?"

When the small town of Hawkins was almost all pulled underground in 1986, many people lost their entire livelihood and left the cursed place in terror and desperation. Thus, the population of Hawkins was reduced by more than half. It took years to try to rebuild it however nothing could return to normal. This disaster, nevertheless, brought something good. People all over the world wanted to see the town absorbed by the earth, so over time tourism became the main income. The place where the trailer park used to be was now the biggest attraction, with people lining up to see the most damaged part of the city, around which many legends appeared. The official version was an earthquake, but many people said it was hell's gate and the damage that had been done was caused by Satan himself. In a way, these beliefs were true, but not everyone needed to know that.
After defeating Vecna, Joyce and her children returned to Hawkins and moved in with Hopper. The rest of the team didn't leave either. The traumatic experience, instead of propelling them to escape, the bond with this town prevented them from doing so. When Eddie miraculously survived an attack by demobats and was carried out of there in an unconscious state by Steve and Dustin he spent several weeks in the hospital. Fortunately, with Hopper's help, they were able to guarantee that all medical expenses would be covered by the government so as not to burden Wayne with it. In addition, they both received very generous compensation.
When it turned out that the owner of the Hideout, the bar where Corroded Coffin played every Thursday, was leaving town Eddie and Steve decided to buy the place back and invest in its development. In addition, above the bar was the apartment in which the Munsons took up residence. It was much larger than the trailer. A large living room connected to the kitchen, a bathroom and two separate rooms.
The first few years were very tough, but the more tourists showed up in Hawkins, the more the Hideout made a profit. Eventually the income was large enough that they could afford to renovate the place. Every night since then, many passersby and locals have treated the Hideout as one of the main social spots in and around Hawkins. Of course, Corroded Coffin didn't stop giving their performances, but in addition to them there were many different artists.
"No way!" shouted Eddie, sitting down on a stool at the bar. "I'm not going to let this place turn into a retirement home!"
"It's only one evening a week! Why do you have to be so dramatic?"
"Besides, there are young people in the world who like jazz you wuss," interjected Robin standing behind the bar. Despite being a manager, she claimed that standing behind the bar was one of her favorite activities. This was especially true when her newly hired bartender, Laura, was with her on shift.
"Fine! But only once a week. We can't afford to go more days without doing anything." he rolled his eyes.
"You'll be surprised how there will be even more people than at your concerts." laughed Steve pleased with his friend's agreement.
"A blow below the belt Harrington! A blow below the belt!"
Tumblr media
To Munson's surprise, the Jazz evenings proved to be a success. Every week many people of all ages gathered there. He himself dreaded avoiding his workplace on this day, but today, exceptionally, due to the flurry of paperwork, he and Steve were stuck in the office, which was located in the back of the bar.
"I'm fed up, this paperwork is killing me." said Steve laying his head on the desk. "How about a little break?"
"It's totally like you're reading my mind, big boy." replied Eddie and quickly got up. When they came out, a large crowd of people appeared to their eyes. Almost all the seats were occupied. People were immersed in conversation sipping drinks and enjoying the pleasant sounds of trumpets, piano and other instruments. Scanning the room, his gaze settled on you. You were sitting at a two-person table bent over some papers and a red pen in your hand. He must have been looking at you for too long and it didn't escape Robin's attention.
"I told you that young people can like jazz too." she said patting him on the shoulder.
"Huh?" he replied exasperatedly.
"It's y/n. She moved to Hawkins a few months ago to teach at the high school. Ever since we started holding jazz nights she's been here every week in the same place loaded with tests. She says that with this music she concentrates best and grading doesn't get so tiring at all."
"Do you know her shoe size, too?" he asked sarcastically impressed by how much information Robin knows about you.
"Not yet." She winked at him. "Unlike you, instead of just staring at her I also started talking. I would advise you to do the same, I have a strange feeling that you would like each other."
"I can already see it, a teacher and a guy who repeated the last grade twice and was allergic to school?"
"Sounds pretty romantic to me." interjected Steve. "It would be a nice change in your life if you tried something more than being limited to quickies with random tourists in the back of a bar."
"Just shut up." replied an annoyed Eddie and walked away from them to make himself a drink. He didn't want to admit it, but he knew they were right. Many times, after "quickies" as Steve called it, he tried to ask someone out but no one was ever interested. No one ever wanted to get to know him better. He knew he was just a little adventure they would later tell their friends about when they got home. He found you attractive. That was a fact. Sipping a whiskey and Coke, he watched as you wrote something on a piece of paper in concentration and occasionally your focus shifted to the band playing on stage. In those moments, a gentle smile appeared on your face.
"Here." Robin said, approaching him with a colorful drink in her hand. Seeing his surprised face, she continued. "This is her favorite drink, go carry it and get a few words out." There was a moment of hesitation. He didn't know if he should listen to them. On the other hand, he had nothing to lose. He took the drink from Robin's hands and slowly moved toward you. When you noticed someone approaching you, you raised your eyes. You thought it was Steve or Robin. Since you started coming here you could tell that you had become so friendly with them that they always sat down to talk to you for a while. This time you didn't recognize the person walking towards you. It was a man dressed in black ripped jeans and a black T-shirt. He had long curly hair chaotically pinned up in a low bun. A few curls fell over his face. He was looking straight at you smiling slightly, by which you could see the slight dimples in his cheeks. In his hand he was holding one of your favorite drinks, which you had not ordered. At first you thought it was for someone else however when your eyes met you reciprocated the smile. The stranger was already opening his mouth to say something when he suddenly slipped on a napkin and in the next few seconds landed on the floor, and the drink spilled on the table and the sheets of paper that lay on it.
"Oh my god are you okay?" got up quickly from the chair to help him up.
"Shit!" he replied and looked panickedly at the soaked tests.
Before you had time to respond anything Steve and Robin were next to you with a huge roll of paper towel. In confusion, you started wiping everything down, and an embarrassed Eddie took advantage of the moment when your attention wasn't on him and ran off to the office. When you finished cleaning you looked around for him, but couldn't spot him anywhere.
"I'll take them into the office and put them on the radiator maybe they'll dry out a bit." Steve said.
"Thank you." you said handing him the soaked papers. "And uh- Steve?"
"Yes?"
"This is your new employee?"
"Why do you ask?"
"I've never seen him here, but if he is, don't be mad at him, okay? It could happen to anyone. I'm sure once these tests dry I can continue checking." Harrington just sent you a smile and moved toward the back room.
"Not a bad first impression, dude!" he laughed when he noticed Eddie who was sitting in an armchair and staring aimlessly out the window.
"Can you stop talking and get to work?" retorted a frustrated Eddie.
"Yes, sir!" he saluted. "But I still have to tell you that you have a chance. I guess you caught her eye since she wasn't even angry that you flooded her students' work."
"Work!" shouted Munson, trying with all his might to focus on the documents they had to fill out and forget the earlier situation, the memories of which had already haunted him until he fell asleep and caused a wave of embarrassment to wash over his entire body.

Since then, Eddie has avoided Thursdays even more than usual. As bad as it was, even if he wasn't there he couldn't stop thinking about the fact that you were just sitting there probably bent over the next batch of tests. Steve and Robin tried many times to persuade him to come and try again but the vision of being humiliated once more was stronger and made him always refuse.
Friday nights were reserved for Corroded Coffin performances. The whole band, as always, gave an amazing show, but halfway through when Eddie was carelessly running around the small stage with his guitar he spotted you at the end of the room. You were sitting alone at the same table as always, but this time you looked different. Dressed this time in an airy dress, with your hair down and makeup on your face, you attracted his attention even more, so he didn't let you out of his sight for the rest of the performance. When your gazes crossed you sent him a shy smile and he looked away panicked. What happened to the confidence that always radiated from him when he performed? It evaporated.
When they finished and another band took the stage after them, he and the guys moved toward the bar. Robin was already waiting with ready, filled glasses.
"Another good performance, you guys deserved an extra ice cube as a reward." she said, causing Laura to laugh. Eddie just shook his head and gave a thumbs up as he saw his friend's face light up seeing her co-worker's reaction. Holding his glass, he walked behind the bar again returned his gaze to you. Each time the bar door closed your hopeful sight hung on them and then hope turned to disappointment. You sipped your favorite drink nervously looking around the room and checking your watch from time to time.
"The picture goes like this." Robin said, snapping him out of his reverie. "She's supposed to have a date here, but as you can see the idiot didn't deign to show up."
"How do you know?" how could anyone double-cross you? Knowing the reason for your disappointed face, he felt a slight sting of sadness.
"Because she told me? I asked her when she came to get a second drink."
"Are you just going to stand there and stare at her, or are you finally going to join her?" asked Gareth. "Unless you don't want to, in which case I'll be more than happy to do it and take the place of whoever she was supposed to be here with."
"Don't!" the metalhead snapped, seeing Gareth get up from the bar stool. Embarrassed by his reaction, he sighed rolling his eyes.
"Dude, I've never seen you like this," laughed Jeff. "What happened to Eddie, who was throwing his charm like some crazy spell?"
"I don't know!" he whined.
"This is your chance to at least make a good second impression. I'll prepare a drink for you, and you carry it to her this time without spilling it." Robin decided.
As she said so it happened. This time with extreme care Munson managed to reach his destination and put the drink in front of you without any accidents. All the time he felt the eyes of his friends on him, but the closer he got to you the more he managed to ignore it.
"May I join you?" he asked.
"Sure." You replied sending a slight smile. "You were great." you commented.
"Oh, thank you. We play every week, if you'd like to see us again sometime." He winked at you, smiling broadly while sliding his drink in your direction. "On the house."
"Steve won't mind?"
"Why would he?"
"I didn't know musicians could give away free drinks."
"Yeah, right. I think we didn't get a chance to get to know each other the right way." he laughed scratching the back of his neck with his hand. "I'm Eddie. Eddie Munson. And Steve and I are the owners of this place."
"Oh." You replied slightly shocked. "Now I feel quite strange, after our last meeting I thought you were the bartender and I asked Steve not to be angry with that situation."
"For which I am very sorry. I hope you didn't get in trouble because of it?"
"No, fortunately after drying off I was still able to read and finish checking."
"I'm glad. And it's very nice what you said to Harrington, I appreciate it."
"I'm y/n." you said suddenly extending your hand toward him. "Y/n y/l/n. I moved here recently to work at Hawkins High."
"Well, I'd love to get to know you better, if you don't mind."
"I mean...I've already been stood up anyway, so I'd be happy to spend time with someone who actually feels like it."
In this way, for the next few hours you sat getting to know each other better. At first everything was quite strange and awkward, until finally, unbeknownst to you, you found common ground. Eddie told you his story related to The Hideout, and also mentioned his other hobby, which turned out to be a fantasy board game. You listened with pleasure as he recalled the days when he ran Hellfire in high school. Meanwhile, clearly interested, he also asked questions about you and your life, which you happily answered. The hands of the clock were moving at an incredibly fast tempo when it came time to close the bar. You thanked Eddie for saving the evening and you both parted, feeling a flock of butterflies rise in your bellies at the thought of each other.
Tumblr media
That's how you became a regular at Corroded Coffin performances in addition to the Thursday jazz evenings (at which Eddie suddenly started appearing). Munson introduced you to his bandmates with whom you also caught on well. Eventually Hawskins was no longer a stranger to you. At first you felt very lonely in it, but now you looked forward to your weekly trips to the bar.
You were sitting bent over a test when out of the corner of your eye you noticed someone sitting down to you. Your first thought was none other than Eddie, who always sat down with you when you came in and you spent hours talking together. However, when you raised your head and noticed that it wasn't him the smile from your face quickly disappeared and was replaced by uncertainty.
"Can I help you somehow?" you asked the man.
"I figured a beautiful woman like you couldn't spend an evening alone, so I hope it won't be a problem for me to join you." he replied. You took a slightly better look at him. He looked a few years older than you, dressed in a black shirt and jeans. A watch that you would have had to work for over a year was shining on his wrist. He definitely made no secret of his wealth. "Can I buy you a drink?" he asked.
"Oh, no need." you said.
"I insist."
"Uhm... apple juice will do, thank you." you replied confused, and your new companion moved toward the bar. As Laura served him, Robin sent you a questioning look. You just shrugged your shoulders and shifted your gaze back to the test.
You didn't have time to check too much because after a while you had company again. The man's name was Dave and he was the owner of a fairly well-known company in a town near Hawkins. He had no problem telling you almost everything about himself over the next several minutes. You just nodded politely while sipping your juice. The funniest thing in all this was that he didn't even ask you what your name was.
At the same time, Eddie's attention did not escape the fact that someone had taken his place at your table. All day he had been gathering the courage to finally ask you out. The better you knew each other, the more he convinced himself that it was worth a try. He loved your conversations, loved hearing about how your day was going, how you spoke with amusement about your students' next crazy ideas. Your presence definitely brought a lot of light into his life, so now seeing someone else sitting across from you, he felt a pretty strong sting of jealousy. Did you date someone else here? Did he miss his chance? Resigned, he hid in the office, to which he left the door slightly ajar.
"What's this guy sitting with y/n?" asked Steve when he saw his friend.
"I have no idea." he replied, pretending to be unimpressed.
"I don't like him." Steve commented without taking his eyes off you.
The time in Dave's company passed... weirdly. His mouth wouldn't close and his self-deprecation and hearing about his company's utilities didn't interest you at all. You started to feel dizzy from the overload of unnecessary information. Wait a minute. You were really dizzy. You moved your gaze quickly to one of the sheets of paper, on which the letters suddenly began to move. What's wrong with you? You haven't drunk anything today, except for the juice you got from a stranger. Oh no.
"Are you all right? Why don't we go outside? Can I drive you home?" he began to propose. No way. The remnants of your consciousness screamed for you to run as far away as possible. With a shaky step, you quickly walked toward Robin. At the bar, you could barely stay on your feet.
"Jesus, y/n what happened?" she asked worriedly.
"I feel very strange... Everything around me is... blurry." suddenly speaking seemed much more challenging than usual.
"Are you okay dariling?" the voice of Dave reached you faster than his hand which after a moment landed on your back. "Can you give her a bottle of water for the road? We're about to leave." You were stunned.
"She's not going anywhere with you." Said Robin in a raised voice.
"Robin...very bad...I-I feel...bad." You mumbled out. As soon as Dave associated the facts that you knew this barmaid immediately began to retreat.
"Did you drink anything besides juice?" you nodded your head negatively.
Suddenly all the dots in Robin's head were connected. "You son of a bitch!" she shouted. "What did you give to her?!"
"What are you talking about?!"
"Bathroom." you whispered and hearing this, Laura immediately jumped out from behind the bar and helped you with getting there.
"What's going on here?" suddenly Steve's voice reached everyone.
"Your bartender put drugs into my friend's juice!"
"Dude are you crazy?!"
"The police will take care of it. Both of you to the office, now!" Steve knew that pretending to believe the man was the only option to keep him here until Hopper's arrival. "Eddie go stand behind the bar, when Hopper comes send him here," he said.
"What's wrong?" asked Eddie, seeing Robin sending a murderous look to the guy who was sitting at the table with you just a moment ago. Hearing his question she was already opening her mouth to answer, but Steve interrupted her right away.
"I'll tell you later, for now someone has to go stand behind the bar." Harrington was aware that your friendship with Eddie had grown significantly. He also knew that you meant much more than just a friend to him and he really didn't want to risk an additional ambulance call. Munson wordlessly left the room and did what Steve instructed. All the time, he was wondering what had happened. Many different scenarios were running through his head when suddenly Laura came running to him.
"Where's Steve?" she asked panicked.
"In the office with Robin and some dude. Why don't you tell me what happened?"
"Uh...This guy added something to y/n's juice and accused Robin of it. I took y/n to the bathroom, she probably returned everything she had in the system, but she's still too weak to move. She can't lie on the bathroom floor all evening." He added something to the y/n juice. These words rolled around in his head causing his rage to grow with each passing second. He was halfway to the office when he felt the barmaid grab his wrist. "She needs your help Eddie."
"Stay here." He replied and with a quick step moved toward the women's bathroom. You were leaning against the wall in a half-lying position. Your legs and arms suddenly became ten times heavier. Your eyes were bloodshot and tears were rolling down your cheeks. You didn't even have the strength to wipe them away. Everything seemed distant to you, as if behind a fog.
"Jesus Christ, what did he do to you y/n" suddenly a familiar tumbling curls appeared in front of your eyes. "I'll kill him, I'll kill the bastard" he muttered and quickly grabbed the toilet paper, ripped off a piece and wiped your face with it. Your condition made his heart ache. At the very thought of how Dave wanted to take advantage of your vulnerability he felt like going back to the office and really killing him.
"Eddie?" you whispered
"Yes, sweetheart, it's me," he said. When he looked into your unconscious eyes he immediately softened. Steve had called Hopper so he would take care of appointing justice. The priority was you and taking care of you.
"W-what's goin' on?" your voice was so weak it was barely audible.
"Some idiot put something in your juice, sweetheart."
"Oh." you heard his words but you were so stunned that they didn't reach you. Eddie was aware of that. He was also aware that when you get up in the morning and the events of the previous evening hit you in their entirety, in addition to shock, you may be hit by a whole range of negative emotions. Later you will be faced with giving a statement to the police, which will certainly not improve the situation.
"I'll take care of you, okay? Are you okay with it?" he asked grabbing your hand. You just nodded. "Are you able to get up?"
"I don't...know." The very act of speaking seemed to be awfully difficult for you. "I'm very h-heavy."
"I will help you, okay?"
"'kay" hearing the permission he put his arms around you tightly, resting all your weight on him, helped you up. He knew that you wouldn't get very far in this state, so he decided to take you to his apartment. When you came out of the bathroom a worried Laura informed you that Hopper had already arrived, and in the meantime she gathered all your things from the table and carried them to her locker. Eddie said he was taking you to his place and told her to tell the others.
To get to the apartment you had to go out the back exit. The change in the air was a shock to you compared to the warmth that prevailed inside. The worst was ahead of you. To reach your destination you still had to climb the stairs, which in your case was a huge challenge. After a few stumbles, you found yourself in a small hallway that led to a large living room. At the mere sight of the couch, your eyes began to close on their own. Eddie, seeing you fly off, quickly helped you pull off your shoes and led you deeper into the apartment. To your surprise you passed the couch you wanted and after a while you were in a small room, most of which was occupied by a huge bed. You were relieved to sit on it, but you felt the soft mattress attracting your whole body like a magnet.
"Are you okay? Do you need anything?" he asked, sitting down next to you.
"No." You muttered into the bedclothes.
"You know I don't want to hurt you right?" this question made you look at him with all the remaining power you had.
"I trust you, Eddie." you replied. The words meant much more to him than he expected. They went straight to his heart, crumbling the thick stone wall he had been building around him for years. He reached out his hand toward you and, after a moment's hesitation, brushed a few strands of hair away from your face, then stroked your cheek gently. "But I shouldn't," you laughed with sudden residual strength.
"What? Why?" he asked surprised. The second part of your statement slightly scared him.
"Robin told me that you don't like jazz." Feeling relieved, he only laughed. You were wrong. Eddie had enjoyed jazz a lot for some time. Eddie might even love jazz, but this was not the moment for such a conversation.
"Let me make you some tea okay? Fortunately, you got rid of the bad stuff out of your system fairly quickly, so you should be fine, but if anything call out. I'll be right back."
I trust you Eddie. Your words rolled around in his head making him smile to himself. The warmth that spread through his body was indescribable. He thought he would never feel like this again, but you gave him hope that things would be different.
When he returned to the room with a mug of warm tea in his hands you were already asleep. Not wanting to wake you, he gently covered you with a blanket that lay at the other end of the bed and turned off the light. He left the door open, just in case. He himself took a seat on the couch in the living room analyzing everything connected with you and your relationship with him.

That morning when Wayne came home from work he found his nephew sleeping on the couch. Walking to his room, he noticed that the door to Eddie's room was unusually open. Curiosity won, so he looked inside and saw an unfamiliar girl sleeping on the edge. This was strange. Wayne was used to Eddie bringing girls here from time to time. Sometimes he would pass them at the door when he came home from work, sometimes a little later they would escape from the apartment in a hurry. Wayne did not approve of such behavior but had no intention of interfering. There was nothing left for him to do but pray in his soul that fate would eventually send someone who would be happy to stay for breakfast and, in time, even for dinner.
When the man entered the room there was a piece of paper lying on his bed.
Hi Wayne,
You've probably already noticed that we have a visitor. This evening was full of sensations. Remember how I told you about the girl who likes jazz? The one I recently befriended, and you laughed that you never would have thought that your nephew who is allergic to everything school-related would have a crush on a teacher? That's y/n. Some asshole put something in her drink. As far as I know there is no one in Hawkins who could help her, so I took it upon myself. I couldn't leave her there alone, I hope you understand. I don't know how much she will remember when she gets up in the morning, she will definitely be in shock so act calmly, okay? To be clear, nothing happened between us, I know what you're thinking, but she's not like the rest. You can also expect a visit from Hopper, I told him he would find her at our place.
It was one of the few moments in Wayne's life in which he knew that despite the problems his boy attracted to him like a magnet, he had raised him well. He was proud of him.

The morning fell on you like a ton of rubble. The slightest sound tore your head apart causing terrible pain. The rest of your body was also not in the best condition to that you woke up very sweaty. When you opened your eyes you were horrified to see that the room you were in was not yours at all. When you raised yourself slightly in its corner you noticed three guitars lined up in a row. One of them seemed familiar to you. You started looking around further on the wall there were many posters of various bands, some of which you associated. Shifting your gaze to yourself, you were slightly relieved that you were wearing yesterday's clothes. At that moment a wave of memories also came over you, some more clear others terribly fuzzy. Dave. Dave who added something to your juice. Is Robin in trouble now because of you? Laura dragging you behind her to the bathroom. The icy white tiles and which you leaned against after vomiting. Eddie. Eddie came to help you. He said something to you, but you couldn't remember what. Cold air and then a lot of stairs. And darkness. You were in Eddie's apartment. It was his bedroom. You slept in his bed. But where is Eddie? You had to go to the bathroom. You sluggishly raised yourself from the bed and with arms spread so as to better catch your balance you left the room and walked to the living room where a metalhead was sitting on the couch and writing something in a thick notebook. Hearing footsteps he turned towards you and greeted with a smile.
"Mornin', how are you feeling?" he asked.
"I-I don't know." you answered honestly. You were now an emotional explosive mix. "Can I use the bathroom?" you asked quietly.
"Of course! I've prepared a towel for you there and some clothes to change into if you'd like."
"Thank you Eddie."
"You're welcome, the bathroom is over there." he said pointing to the door.
When you disappeared behind the bathroom door Eddie got up and started preparing breakfast. He stated that he would prepare scrambled eggs, but as an emergency, if you didn't like it he also prepared sandwiches. He didn't know whether you preferred coffee or tea, so with that he preferred to wait until you came out of the bathroom. Lost in his thoughts, he didn't notice when his uncle joined him in the kitchen.
"Hey, kid." he said quietly.
"Hey, Wayne, sorry-" he began.
"Boy, you have nothing to apologize for. I'm proud of you." replied the man putting his hand on his nephew's shoulder.
"Wayne..." Eddie didn't have time to say when they heard the bathroom door opening. You were overwhelmed. The sense of shame didn't leave you either. "y/n? Are you all right? Is something wrong?" he asked seeing your gaze quickly jump from him to Wayne. Silence. Silence was the only answer he got, so he repeated your name a few more times.
"I'm so sorry Eddie." you howled. "I feel so ashamed, I shouldn't be here, I'm sorry." your voice was breaking. You felt awful in every possible way. Used, naive, humiliated, scared, embarrassed. You couldn't contain your emotions, you still felt too weak for all this.
"What? what are you apologizing for?" he said slowly extending his hand toward you asking for silent permission to touch you. You, feeling yourself crumbling, came closer to him and hugged him tightly wanting his arms to stop the remains of you and prevent them from falling apart. After a moment's hesitation, you felt him reciprocate the hug. The warmth of his body made you feel safe, which ironically made you start crying. Still holding you in his arms, he began to gently rock you, whispering from time to time that you had nothing to apologize for and that everything was fine. The closeness you felt was very comforting, so when you calmed down and opened your eyes you saw the other man looking at you with a slight smile. Seeing the shock on your face he immediately introduced himself.
"I'm Wayne" he said. "Eddie's uncle."
"G-good morning Mr. Munson." you said embarrassed, pulling away from his nephew. "I'm so sorry about all this, I'll just get my stuff and get out of here." you could feel the panic rising.
"Won't you stay for breakfast? We're having scrambled eggs today."
"Oh, I-" You didn't know what to say.
"It's okay y/n." interjected Eddie. He wanted to assure you that you were welcome here. "If you want I can drive you home, but if you just feel like staying there's nothing stopping you. Yesterday I told them to tell Hopper that you will be here when it's time to write up the statements, I thought you didn't want to be alone with all this." He was right, you didn't want to. Sitting alone in empty four walls would drive you crazy.
"I... really don't want to be a trouble, you've done enough for me already Eddie, I don't want to overuse your kindness."
"Everything is fine. I promise, okay?"
"Okay."
Convinced by his sincerity, you decided to stay until the police arrived. The three of you sat down at the table and began to eat breakfast. The radio was playing quietly in the background and you listened to the men's conversation, trying not to think about the previous night. When you finished you wanted to help clean up that the table, but they both categorically forbade you to go near the dishes. Feeling your tiredness catch up with you, you retreated back to Eddie's room. You lay down against the wall covering yourself with a blanket. The material was very fluffy and pleasant, soothing.
"May I come in?"
"This is your room." you replied. Eddie sat down next to you.
"Do you want to talk about it?" he asked with concern.
"I don't know. I feel awful." You could feel tears coming to your eyes. "I have no idea how I could have been so careless."
"Hey, don't blame yourself for that. Luckily, you noticed pretty quickly that something was wrong and went to Robin with it. You acted very well." he said grabbing your hand.
"You saved me." you said quietly. "Thank you."
"You're welcome." He smiled. You saved me. Hearing these words, his heart beat faster and heat spread throughout his body. Your words very often had that effect on him. He looked at your face. Your gaze focused on your hands, which you were still holding. Despite your apparent sadness and fatigue you still looked beautiful. The most beautiful. He thought. He wanted to tell you this, but this was definitely not the time or season for such confessions. He noticed how you struggled not to close your eyes and fall asleep.
"Do you want to take a nap before Hopper comes?" he asked quietly.
"I think it would be good for me." you admitted.
"Would you mind if I stayed?" he asked uncertainly.
"Of course not." After all, it was his bed. Besides, in truth, you didn't mind. You felt safe.
As Wayne walked to his room through the ajar door, he could see you lying on the two ends of the bed, with your hands in the middle between you, still joined. The sight made him feel happy and hopeful. He wanted nothing more for Eddie than to finally find someone who would give him the love he deserved. And he deserved the truest and most beautiful one. Like any parent, he wanted the best for his son.
After two hours, you were awakened by the doorbell. The conversation with Hopper did not last long, Eddie sat next to you the whole time, supporting in silence. It turned out that you were not Dave's first victim. Fortunately, the first one who managed to be protected, from his intentions. Once you had made your statement, you and Eddie went down to the bar to get your belongings, which were left there, and then he drove you home, where, already alone, you had to deal with memories and thoughts that would haunt you for a long time.
Tumblr media
Two weeks have passed since that day. You still couldn't come to terms with the situation and the feeling of shame you felt every time you thought about it. You wanted to sink into the ground, and dissapear, which is why you were unwilling to leave the house. Aside from work and a quick shopping, you spent your entire days on the living room couch. Your absence in the Hideout was felt by everyone. Your regular seat was empty, and every Thursday Eddie sat at that table hoping you would show up at the door any minute. He didn't want to impose, he wanted to give you the space and time you may have needed, but he couldn't stop thinking about you and missing you.
No matter how hard you tried to focus on something else, the smiling, handsome face surrounded by battered curls always returned to your thoughts like a boomerang, making your heart beat faster.
For the third Thursday in a row, Eddie was sitting alone at your table sending sad glances toward the door when someone joined him. Wayne sat down across from him, and Steve and Robin appeared on either side of him, pushing back chairs.
"Shouldn't you be at work right now?" asked the younger Munson.
"I have two days off, so I thought I'd go crazy and pop in for some good beer." the man smiled.
"And I see you've found yourself some good company..." he sighed. "Buckley, shouldn't you be standing behind the bar right now? And you Harrington flirting with some lady in charge of liquor delivery, so that we can get a discount based on your beautiful eyes and charming personality?"
"That can wait, Eddie. We need to talk." Steve replied while rolling his eyes.
"About what?"
"We're sick of you wandering around the bar all day with the face of a sad puppy, dingus," said Robin.
"Apparently I haven't had reason to be happy."
"Son, if you miss her, just go and tell her so." interjected Wayne.
"How can you be sure it's about that?"
"For three Thursdays you've been sitting at the table where y/n sat all the time. What's more, every time the door opens you look at it as if Ozzy Osbourne is about to appear there." Robin concluded.
"That would be pretty metal." Eddie shrugged his shoulders. He wanted to pretend they weren't right, wanted to fool himself that he didn't care about you that much at all and your disappearance didn't affect him. But it had. He hated the fact that they were right once again.
"Go to her, invite this girl to a good dinner, buy her flowers, do something that will make her smile." continued the old man.
"Uncle Wayne is right." Steve backed him up. After several months of sitting together and keeping watch at Eddie's hospital bed, the entire group adopted Wayne as their uncle. Dustin was the first to do so, when he came to Eddie one day and greeted him with the words "hi Uncle Wayne." From then on, everyone started addressing him that way. At first it was a bit of a shock to him, but the more time he spent with the kids and the rest of the group he got used to it and had to admit he loved it.
"I can't just go and ask her out!"
"Why not?"
"Someone drugged her in my bar? Maybe she doesn't want to see me at all now because of it? I pretty much took her semi-conscious to MY apartment, maybe she thinks that I wanted to use her too? Maybe she doesn't want to know me anymore?"
"Son, we all know you would never hurt her, she knows that too." Wayne sighed.
"Okay, I have an idea!" exclaimed Robin and clapped her hands. "Since you don't want to ask her out on an official date, you'll do it by tricking her."
"What?"
"Steve do you remember the last time a jazz band came here and told us that they would like to play at the Hideout one Thursday?" a mischievous grin appeared on her face.
"Yes."
"So, we all know that y/n loves jazz, after all, it brought her here to us. I think Eddie would love to handle auditioning a new band, but since unfortunately the poor guy doesn't know much about this kind of music, he'd be happy to accept help from someone who has a knowledge of the subject."
"Shit, Robin, this is good," said Steve.
"I know." she smiled triumphantly. "You'll sense the situation during the audition, in the meantime arrange something warm to eat, a romantic dinner for two, after a private jazz concert? The girl will lose her head for you if she hasn't already!"

Eddie wiped his sweaty palms on his jeans and took a deep breath. Stress was eating him alive however, after a few minutes of staring at the door of your house he got the courage to knock. Seeing the surprise on your face he felt like turning on his heel and running away, but your voice was quicker.
"Hi." you said quietly. The surprise quickly turned into a warm smile that made his knees soften.
"Hi." he replied. "I'm not disturbing?"
"No, come in." You said making a pass at the door for him. You were glad to see him, shyly you had to admit that you missed him a lot.
"If you are tired I can go." he said looking at you with a slight smile. In fact, his arrival woke you up from the little nap you had taken on the living room couch.
"Sorry, I wasn't expecting visitors." you suddenly remembered that you were wearing old stretched out sweatpants and an oversized T-shirt.
"You look very nice," he said seeing your embarrassment. "I just wanted to see how you were feeling, it's been a long time since you were at our place, I was worried. We were all worried." He said looking around the apartment. It was one room smaller than his. On a table set up in the living room was a large box of tapes that immediately caught his attention, so he moved toward it. On the windowsill was a player from which soft trumpet and piano sounds flowed.
"I thought you didn't want to see me after all that..." you confessed.
"What? Why?" he asked shocked. On the contrary, he wanted nothing more than to see you.
"I caused you some trouble...Especially Robin, she got it the most. Later you had to give up your plans for the evening to take care of me, for which I thank you very much and I am truly grateful."
"Nothing that happened that evening was your fault, Robin was fine, except that if it hadn't been for Steve she would have scratched that asshole's eyes out. Hopper said poor Harrington couldn't hold her." You laughed lightly imagining it. "As for later...I wanted to take care of you, after all, that's what sa friend is for, right?" he said grabbing one of the tapes in the carton. He focused on it to avoid seeing your reaction. Turning the small box in his hand, he noticed the inscription "Your smile is brighter than the sun" on it. Curious, he began to look through more. Each of the tapes had some kind of inscription on it. "For worse days" ,"Take it easy, baby" , "I'll always be there for you"
"They belonged to my grandmother." You said seeing his interest and sat down on the couch, taking the box in your lap. Eddie sat down next to you, close enough that your shoulders were touching. The warmth of his body made you feel comfortable enough to rest your head against his shoulder. You couldn't resist. "She met my grandfather at a bar. She worked as a waitress, and he and his friends sometimes played small concerts there."
"I bet they were famous for jazz?" he chuckled.
"Yes. Grandpa's best friend played the saxophone and infected him with a love of jazz, and since Grandpa was playing the piano from a young age it was a matter of time until they started playing together, and later other friends joined them."
"So this music flows through your veins?"
"You can say that." You replied giggling while digging through the tapes in the box. "Got it!" you exclaimed. "This is my favorite," you said holding up a box labeled "Always in my heart"
"Your grandfather must have been a huge romantic."
"Oh, yes, he definitely was. Once a week Grandma always got flowers from him. Sometimes he would buy them, and when we didn't have much money he would pluck one from someone's garden on the way home from work." you laughed. "But, hush, it's a secret."
"Your secrets are safe with me." You are, too. He almost slipped up.
"On Sundays when neither of them went to work they always played this tape and danced to it. I still remember that sight. One of the most beautiful memories I have."
"It sounds really beautiful," he said.
"When I was younger I always dreamed of such love, theirs seemed indestructible. Even after the worst argument they were somehow able to find a way to reconcile. My favorite song is the third on the cassette, it's called "Lost In Your Eyes" He always played it for Grandma when she had bad days. It always calmed her down."
"Did you manage to find it?"
"What?"
"That love" He didn't know why you were even being asked that question. Deep down, Eddie himself didn't know if he wanted to know the answer to that question. What if you answer that yes, that someone is waiting for you somewhere after all, or suddenly there is some secret fiancé you haven't had a chance to mention before? You quickly dispelled his worry.
"No, as you had a chance to see I don't have much luck with love, I'm a magnet for disasters." you said. "But that's not a conversation for the moment, because I think I'd burn with embarrassment."
"Okay, so maybe tell me more about your grandparents and jazz? Did you visit them often?"
"Oh, they raised me. My mother decided that motherhood was not her specialty so when I was two years old she ran away from home leaving me with my grandparents. And I don't know my father. It was always just the three of us. If I passed someone that my family on the street I wouldn't even know about it."
"Shit, when you said you didn't have anyone I thought it was just about Hawkins. I'm so sorry y/n."
"Don't be. It was very hard for me after they died, but I'm fine now. Moving here helped me. A change of environment, new people, a job I like. Although if I'm honest my favorite new thing is Hideout."
"I'm very pleased to hear that." he replied and winked at you.
"Especially on Thursdays, my grandfather would love jazz Thursdays, just like me." Why do you confide in him? You have no idea. Or maybe you do. Maybe it's because you feel wonderful in his company. That when he's close you feel safe and comfortable. Maybe it's because you're awfully thirsty for the closeness of another person, you're thirsty for the company of someone close in your life, and you terribly want Eddie to become your closest person. But won't that be crossing some boundaries? Does he want the same thing?
"I'm sure he always accompanies you during them. I hope he's not mad about some long-haired freak taking his place at your table." What he said melted your heart, touched every part of your body. After two weeks of isolation from the world and longing, you finally didn't feel so alone.
"Thank you Eddie." you said and you looked at him. His face very close to yours, beautiful big eyes gazed into yours and his lips formed in a small smile. You wondered what it would be like to kiss those lips. You were sure the feeling must be amazing.
"You don't have to thank me." he replied.
"I have. From the very beginning, I always waited for Thursday. Just to go to the Hideout. Even before we met, when I only knew Robin, Steve and Laura. It was a place where I never felt lonely, where I always felt welcome, and then you spilled a drink on my tests, and along with that spilled drink I found another person who makes living here easier and more enjoyable." emotions took over and words flew out of your mouth on their own, "I am so grateful for all of you and I miss it."
"We miss you too." He said and put his arm around you, you immediately accepted the gesture and after a while the embrace turned into a warm hug. "Your table looks so sad when it's empty. And my company is not enough for him." he said hugging you even tighter. You wanted time to stop and this moment to never end.
"I don't know if I can go back. I'm afraid to look Robin in the eye after that night."
"If we only let her, she would strangle that asshole with her bare hands for what he did to you. She misses you too, and she doesn't resent you, because nothing that happened that night is your fault, as I've said many times before."
"Do you really think so?"
"I know it." This time it was you who squeezed him tighter. Silence fell between the two of you. You were sitting on the couch snuggled into each other, jazz was quietly playing in the background, and Eddie was gently tracing shapes on your arm with his finger. You couldn't remember the last time you felt so good. The silence between you was not jarring. On the contrary, it gave a sense of peace. Eddie, on the other hand, could not control the thoughts running through his head at the speed of light. He had so many things to say to you, yet he didn't want to spoil the moment. He didn't want the bubble that had just surrounded you to burst and tear you apart.
"Would you like to stay for dinner?" you asked after a long moment.
"With pleasure, what are we cooking?"
"I have no idea. You can think about it and I'll change in the meantime." you replied and reluctantly left the area of his arms.
You decided that you would make spaghetti. While you waited for the pasta to boil you told him more about your life with your grandparents. You even pulled out a photo album. Eddie absorbed the information about you like a sponge, he wanted to know everything you wanted to tell him. And you no longer defended yourself against the feelings that grew in you when your hands accidentally met, or the way your knees weakened when he sent you a smile. You were happy to let him into your life, hoping that he would want to stay in it.
You ate in front of the TV, laughing and commenting on some comedy that was on. The time flew by pleasantly, but also mercilessly. After dinner Eddie wordlessly helped you clean up and announced that he had to get to work.
"Thank you for coming." you said.
"It's me who thanks you for your hospitality and delicious dinner m'lady."
"Wait, I'll put some in the box for you for later! We made such a huge portion I won't be able to eat it myself." you said and quickly ran to the kitchen leaving Eddie alone. His gaze fell on the box with "Always in my heart" written on it. He knew what he wanted to do. The idea immediately popped into his head, so before he had a chance to think, he quickly walked over to the tape, took it and put it in his jacket pocket. Moments later, you returned to him with a box full of spaghetti.
"I put in a little more because I thought you'd want to share with your uncle." You said, smiling.
"Thank you." he said a bit nervously, fearing that you would immediately notice that the cassette was missing and it would turn out that he had taken it. "I have one more question for you, actually a request." he said quickly wanting you to focus your attention on him.
"Yes?"
"What are you doing next week on Saturday?"
"I have no plans," you said.
" A jazz band that would like to try out on Thursdays has applied, and I need to audition them."
"I thought you didn't like jazz."
"Damn Robin and her unbridled tongue." he laughed nervously. "Actually, I admit that I was not fond of it, but that has changed. In fact, I'm starting to like jazz, even a lot. That's why I'm very eager to do an audition, but I thought I could use the help of a jazz expert."
"You mean me?" you asked surprised.
"Of course I do."
"I'd be very happy to help you."
"Great! But I hope to see you on Thursday? You don't want your table to crumble from nostalgia, do you?" his playful smile became infectious.
"You can tell my table that I also miss it and I'm already looking forward to sitting by it again on Thursday." You replied smiling widely.
When you were left alone in the air you could still smell the faint scent of his perfume. Feeling his presence still, the smile did not leave your face, making your cheeks start to ache after a while. The gray clouds from your sky slowly departed into the distance and the sun appeared again with small steps. Again you waited impatiently for Thursday.
Tumblr media
The week flew by quickly, the days passed by as you counted down to Thursday, and Thursday evening itself turned out to be wonderful. This time as soon as you crossed the doorstep of the Hideout you noticed that there was not only Eddie sitting at the table, but also Robin and Steve. You sat and caught up all evening laughing and enjoying each other's company. You felt happy.
For Eddie, the week was a bit busier. Stressed about Saturday and what he had planned for you, he kept wondering if he was doing the right thing. The cassette he took from your apartment was playing non-stop. Especially song number three. He spent every spare moment sitting at the piano and trying to learn it. On the night from Friday to Saturday, nerves and stress were eating him alive. He processed every possible scenario in his head as if tonight might turn out differently. Unable to sleep at five in the morning, he went downstairs to continue practicing. He could already play the song from memory, but the fear of getting something wrong was worse. Lost in a musical trance, he didn't hear when someone came inside.
"Eddie? What the hell are you doing here at this hour son?" A puzzled Wayne walked closer.
"Y'know, just practicing..."
"I didn't know you'd gone back to playing the piano."
"I never thought I'd go back to it either." He sighed, turning toward his uncle.
"You haven't played for a very long time, since..."
"Since mom died. I know." Eddie's love of music was inherited from his mother who taught him to play the piano. From a young age they spent hours at the instrument. Unfortunately, after her death it was too painful for him, but he was not able to live long without playing. That's why he started playing the guitar instead of the piano.
"What's going on boy?"
"Do you remember y/n?"
"Of course I do. What about her? Didn't your plan with the 'audition' succeed?"
"It succeeded and that's the problem. I wanted to do something special for her, something that made her feel special..."
"You wrote her a song?"
"Not really. The last time I visited her, she told me about her grandfather who played jazz. He recorded a lot of tapes and she showed me her favorite one, she even said which song from it she liked best, so I thought I'd learn and when we were left alone I'd play it for her, but the more I think about it the more it all scares me."
"Listen kid, feelings are not a simple thing. But you're one of the bravest people I know, so I'm sure you can handle it."
"What if I take it all wrong and she doesn't feel the same? What if she gets too upset that I stole her beloved souvenir of her grandparents and she doesn't want to listen to me?"
"You think too much. I understand that you have doubts, everyone has them, but you can't let them overshadow the purpose of it all. Even if she doesn't reciprocate your feelings, we can handle it. I'll be here for you."
"Thanks, Wayne." The younger Munson felt a weight fall from his heart to some extent and be replaced by a slight flame of hope. Conversations with his uncle always have that effect on him.
"Which doesn't change the fact that I'm ninety-nine percent sure she'll appreciate the gesture and won't even get too angry about the stolen tape. I have a good feeling about this girl, and you know your old man is rarely wrong." The man laughed and sat down in a chair. "Now play this song, I want to hear it."
Tumblr media
Saturday evening came sooner than Eddie would have expected. Normally the Hideout would now be filled to the brim but this time there was emptiness and silence. Silence that seemed too loud for him. The black shirt he had buttoned up to his neck seemed to choke him, so he unbuttoned the first two buttons. The stress still made him incredibly hot. Suddenly he heard a door opening in which you appeared. At the sight of you, his heart sped up twice as fast, he became more and more aware that tonight would bring many changes, but he still wasn't sure if they were good ones.
"I know I'm a little early, but I couldn't wait." you said smiling broadly.
"That's okay, you look beautiful." he replied.
"You equally. It suits you in that shirt." It was a fact. It was the first time you'd seen him in a more elegant version, and you'd have to be lying if you said it hadn't crossed your mind what would happen if he undid a few more buttons. "It's creepy here without a crowd of people." you commented, wanting to dismiss those thoughts and change the subject. You sat down at a table opposite the stage. "This place is always full of life," you said.
"It reminds me of our early days when practically every day was like this." He responded by sitting down across from you. "Fortunately, it has grown more vibrant over time."
"I'm glad. I can't imagine life in Hawkins without this place."
Eddie wanted to reply that he couldn't imagine Hawkins without you now, but bit his tongue. Not yet. Before he had time to say anything the door opened again letting in a band of 5 musicians. They were in their early twenties. Excitedly, they introduced themselves to you and began to spread out on stage. Ironically, the most stressed person in the room was still Munson. When they started playing you focused all your attention on the performers, Eddie, however, was unable to. You listened to the performance with a smile on your lips, enjoying every note they played. The songs varied, some fast and cheerful, others a bit sadder or calm and soothing. You were absorbed in each of them, the emotions conveyed in the music flowing through you while painting different facial expressions that Eddie could read like a book. From time to time he forced himself to look at the stage, but then quickly returned his gaze to you. He was unable to think about anything else but how beautiful you looked. He had already seen you in various states and no matter what, you were always beautiful to him. He felt like stopping the show and shouting right in your face all the emotions that were blowing up inside him. But he had to endure for a few more moments. He had to be patient to tell you in the right way that every time you are close to him he feels a pain in his ribs which is caused by his heart, which wants to escape from its cage straight to you.
"Will you stay here with them for a while? I have to go upstairs quickly, I promise I'll be right back." he said nervously, when the audition finished.
"Is something wrong?" you asked worriedly.
"No, just wait here for me, okay?"
"Sure."
In the meantime, while the band was packing up the instruments he rushed upstairs where hot food prepared by Wayne, who had already left for work, was waiting for him. The portions were packed in boxes, and on one of them was a note saying "Good luck son!". The metalhead took a deep breath and, together with the food, headed back downstairs.
When he returned the musicians were ready to leave, he thanked them and said he would call on Monday with an answer and possible details.
"I thought a little snack wouldn't hurt us." he said turning toward you and began to take out the containers. "I'm sorry that I didn't prepare the porcelain crockery," he said.
"Whatever it is it doesn't need porcelain crockery to smell delicious." you replied and helped him lay everything out.
The meal passed you in a very pleasant atmosphere. You joked and talked about the audition. In your opinion, they should definitely give them a chance, and Eddie had no choice but to agree because, first of all, he didn't pay a bit of attention to the music they were playing because he was too busy melting at the sight of you, and secondly, he would do anything you wanted. There was also the third, he knew you wouldn't do him any harm.
"So... do you feel like another little performance?" he asked when silence fell between you. Seeing your curious face he continued. "I'm saying in advance that I haven't done this in years." He walked toward the piano. When he sat down at it, nerves and stress took over completely causing momentary paralysis. He stuck his gaze into the keys and felt his palms flood with sweat and begin to shake. Come on, Eddie, you can do it. He repeated over and over in his mind, but it didn't help. He was so preoccupied with all this that he didn't notice when you got up from the table and slowly walked toward him, only to sit down next to him a moment later.
"I would love to hear you play Eddie." you said grabbing his hand. You didn't mind how wet with sweat it was. When you saw a smile creep onto his face along with that small gesture, you thought you'd like to hold it forever. When your touch eased his nerves and his fingers didn't shake so badly he began to play. At first his uncertainty made him barely touch the keys, but every time he glanced in your direction and saw your delight when you recognized the next moments of the song he became more and more confident. And with each successive note your heart grew.
"Lost In Your Eyes," you whispered when he finished.
"Yeah, so lost." he replied grabbing your hand. Now or never. He thought, Your faces were now very close together, Eddie rested his forehead against yours and took a deep breath. His eyes were big and dark. Beautiful. It was a beauty in which you could get lost and wander for the rest of your life. "I feel so lost right now that I don't even know how to say what has been going on in my head for a very long time," he said.
"Try it, I have a feeling that in our minds we think alike." you encouraged him.
"I've really liked jazz lately, y'know?" his voice was very quiet and low, but every word reached you with redoubled force.
"Well...I didn't think I'd ever become a metal fan, but recently I've found that metal can be very magnetic..."
"Do you think you could fall in love with metal? Because I think I've been falling in love with jazz for a while now."
You were just about to answer, when suddenly a loud bang came from the office. You both jumped up and looked away from each other, directing your gaze toward the source of the noise. Eddie slowly got up walking there, so you followed him. From a distance you heard muffled voices from behind the door, which became more and more clear the closer you got.
"I thought you were as stealthy as a nina, idiot. You weren't supposed to knock over a whole cabinet!" It was Robin.
"Oh I'm sorry I took away your role as a bull in a china shop!" Steve hissed back. "I don't hear anything, they are quiet, do you think they heard us?"
"Move your ass, dingus."
Eddie showed you to be quiet, but you had a hard time holding back the laughter that was gathering inside you. What the hell were they doing there? Suddenly Munson abruptly opened the door while yelling as loudly as he could. Surprised and somewhat frightened eavesdroppers fell to the floor.
"What the fuck dude?!" shouted Steve putting his hand over his heart. "Do you want me to have a heart attack?"
"Yeah Steve, what the fuck?" replied Eddie crossing his arms over his chest. "Can anyone know why you are spying on us? I thought you guys had enough spies, especially Russian ones."
"Oh come on! We were just curious how you were doing, you know very well how strongly we are rooting for you!" exclaimed Robin.
"And that was the reason for you to break in here through the window?" he asked amused, pointing to the open 'entrance'.
"Maybe it didn't work out so well, we just wanted to see how it was going and back out the same way." Steve tried to defend himself.
"Oh my God Steve, that sounds so much worse said out loud." sighed Robin and hid her face in her hands. "Come on creep, we should go now."
"Yes, you should, and this time PLEASE use the damn door."
"Yeah, we are sorry. Bye crab, bye y/n." said Robin, and on her way out she gestured that you should call her later.
"Bye stalkers!" you replied waving your hand.
When you were left alone again Eddie brought a tape recorder from the office. "I hope you won't hate me and forgive me, but last time I was at your place I borrowed something without asking." he said while putting the cassette inside.
"I connected the dots the moment you started playing the piano." You laughed lightly as you approached him. "I think I'm able to forgive you for stealing my favorite heirloom from my grandfather."
"That sounds awful, don't say it that way," he said.
"Then what way should I put it?"
"Maybe that I borrowed it without asking to impress you? And to ask you to dance now?" he pulled you to him putting his hands on your waist. You wrapped yours around his neck.
"Actually, it sounds better."
"Right?"
"Yeah..."
"So where were we before the two morons interrupted us?"
"You said you started falling in love with jazz..." you stepped closer to him, and his hands tightened around you. "And I was just about to answer you that metal and jazz is a very uncommon combination." A look of mild shock and sadness flashed across his face. He started to pull away when you pulled him as close to you as you could. Your chests touched and your lips were separated by millimeters. "But this very rare connection could turn out to be something really beautiful," you said.
"Do you really think so?" your proximity made it difficult for him to breathe evenly.
"That's what I hope for." you whispered and your lips lightly brushed his when you said it, and he put his hand on your cheek.
"I'd like to know what it's like to feel jazz all over me." he whispered while nudging yours with his nose.
"Nothing stands in the way." you replied and he finally brought your lips together in a passionate kiss. The music in the background enchanted the moment you were in and you felt that you would never have to feel lonely again. You had a feeling that with Eddie, Hawkins would become your home.

oh girl you know I wanna know everything you can share about your Eleven/Gareth fic 😜
lol I know 😝
Okay. Here's what I've got for the overall plot for this one.
This one is set post-season 4. Vecna was successfully defeated. Sullivan and his goons were made to disappear, and higher ups decided to leave El tf alone after Vecna. Eddie survives, and Steve uses family connections to get his name cleared and charges pinned on Jason. The Byers clan plus (obviously) El remain in Hawkins aside from Joyce, Hopper, Jonathan, and Argyle going back to see what can be salvaged from the California house.
Mike starts getting back on his bullshit as things start calming down, and El... with some gentle encouragement from Nancy and Robin, and less gentle very fucking blunt encouragement from Max and Erica... permadumps his ass which makes him go into 'sulky little bitch poor me' mode. Erica, Dustin, and Lucas introduce El and Will to the rest of Hellfire. Instant liking, Eddie immediately adopts El and Will whether they join Hellfire or not. Some sparkage with Gareth and El. Will is a little salty at first over how Dustin, Mike, and Lucas had so readily joined the club when they didn't want to play D&D with him at all the previous summer but joins up anyway... after apologies from Dustin and Lucas b/c Mike's a brat and wouldn't acknowledge his wrongdoing. El is more hesitant when she's invited to try it out too because Mike lied to her yet again at some point prior when she expressed interest and told her D&D was only for boys (which made no sense to her because 'boy' vs 'girl' toys/play etc were never a thing at the lab). When she learns of the lie, she decides to join in out of spite. Mike is predictably a little shit about it, but it's okay because Eddie banishes him from Hellfire as soon as he finds out about the lie, until Mike gets his head out of his ass and makes amends.
Gareth increasingly dislikes Mike the more he learns little by little about how he treated El during their relationship and is determined to woo her and show her how a guy ought to treat a girl, especially one he's romantically interested in. He'd take his time, not wanting to rush her into anything like Mike did, and wanting to develop a solid friendship before actively pursuing her romantically. And El wants to show Gareth she appreciates it all and is interested in him too and starts reciprocating little by little in her own way, with advice from Joyce, Eddie, and Nancy mainly, and a bit from Robin, Steve, and Dustin. [Because we know Max isn't the sappy type, and Erica's got zero interest in dating anyone that we know of.] Not sure yet exactly how Gareth will find out about El's superpowers, but when he does he'll think it's the coolest thing ever and never make her feel like even a little bit of a monster/freak/abnormal about them. Ofc he'd keep the secret too, because he'd want to help her stay safe as best he can.

Pride
Reader is a cheerleader and wants Eddie to go to one of her cheer games before the year ends but Eddie puts his own pride/ thoughts before her. And hellfire club is the same night as the game so they get into a huge argument and reader is telling Eddie all the cheerleaders boyfriends are there for them and cheering them on and giving them their jackets while she’s just there all alone. And after the argument reader is left sad while Eddie is just in his thoughts. Then the game/hellfire night comes up and Eddie just goes to the game and Eddie gives reader his jacket and they are all good at the end
Warnings; Angst with a happy ending.
I don't give anyone permission to copy my work.
If you enjoyed this story pls consider giving it a reblog, etc. It's very much appreciated 😘💞
💞💞
"Eddie please" yn begs her boyfriend who folds his arms and avoids looking at her.
"No, I can't make the game sweetheart. You know Hellfire is in a crucial stage for this campaign. I can't skip it. I'm the DM''
"Every game all the cheerleader's boyfriends are there, they cheer their girls on but I'm always alone because you and your stupid pride"
Eddie scowls.
"Sweetheart, I hate those assholes. They are bullying fucks and I refuse to be in the same room as them and the cheerleaders can be just as bad! "
"Eddie! This is the final game of the year. Is it so bad that I want you to be there for once? technically you should hate me too but you don't, you never have"
He softens.
"That's different. I never expected to fall in love with you or for you to fall in love with me. For you to be such an angel. Falling for you completely blind sighted me"
She moves closer to him
"Eddie all the cheerleader's boyfriends will be there, they give their girlfriends their jackets at the end of our performances and are with them to support them. This is a big game and the most ambitious routine that we've done as cheerleaders, it's important to me"
"I've been with you during some Hellfire meetings, remember the Vecna Campaign? This is the one time I've asked you to put me cheerleading over Hellfire, and now you won't even look at me"
"Because you're doing that look, you know the look I'm talking about. It's the look that's had me wrapped around your finger from day one and you know I can't say no to that look, baby this is the most massive D&D campaign Hellfire has done. I have to be there"
She sags and feels tears pool in her eyes and blinks them away furiously.
"Fine" she responds and Eddie finally looks up at her.
"I'm so sorry princess" she steels herself and shakes her head.
"I know" he looks so torn and he strokes her cheek.
Gareth comes in with Dustin looking excited and she moves away from Eddie.
"Come on man, we gotta set up" Gareth urges him and Eddie looks at her with those big brown eyes but she's too disappointed and sad to respond to him for a minute.
"I'll see you later Eddie, I hope your campaign goes well" he steps forward.
"Princess...
"It's fine Eddie, you can't miss the meeting. I know that. I don't want to guilt you into going to the game either, that's not fair. I'll see you later" she walks off trying to unsuccessfully fight off tears.
Just once she would like her cheerleading to be as important to Eddie as Hellfire was.
💖💖
Eddie felt sick. He and yn had a few arguments before but nothing this bad. She looked so disappointed, so sad and defeated, and his stomach was churning with guilt.
She had been there for him through Hellfire meetings, they spent nights where he would teach her all about it and she did it happily, excited to learn about what he loved.
He knew that she was the best thing that ever happened to him and he didn't want to lose her because of his stupid pride.
"Eddie... dude?" Dustin whines and he notices all the guys looking at him confused.
"Change of plans boys, I gotta go and support my girl tonight"
There is a small uproar and he glares viciously at them and they all fall silent.
"I had an argument with my princess because she asked me to come to this one game to support her, she told me that it makes her sad when I don't go to the games because all the other cheerleader's boyfriends are there and she's alone and as much as she tried to make it seem like she wasn't upset when I had to turn her down again! She was obviously fucking upset"
"Yn has been nothing but supportive of all of us for months now, she's learned about D&D because I love it and she wants to know all about what I love"
He takes a breath and then continues his rant.
"Yeah, no shit I have no clue about cheerleading but it's fucking awesome and it's something my girl loves and it's about damn time I support her because I love her and I want my girl to be happy"
With that being said he is met with shocked silence and then Dustin pipes up.
"If we hurry we can get good seats!"

After her argument with Eddie she was really sad but got on with preparing for the game. Chrissy was very supportive and cuddled her as she got her emotions under control.
It was time for her game face now then she could eat a shit ton of ice cream later and maybe have a cry then.
As she heads out she does a double take. Eddie is in the crowd with the rest of Hellfire.
He spots her and winks at her and she can't stop the beam that takes over her face and blows him a kiss.
He came!
That knowledge and the fact she's so excited to do the routine make her performance even better and she does her performance to perfection.
Eddie is cheering her on and shouting that hes so proud of his Princess and yn can barely keep the smile off her cheeks, she's beaming so much.
By the end of the halftime show and the game she is anxious to get to Eddie and the minute that he is on the pitch she rushes to him and kisses him, planting happy, tender kisses on his lips.
He's beaming and shrugs out of his jacket wrapping it around her.
"You were amazing princess" she cuddles into him.
"You came!" he nods and presses a gentle kiss to her forehead.
"You've always supported me through Hellfire, performing with Corroded Coffin, I wanted to support my amazing, beautiful girl and her cheerleading. I got too in my thoughts and worried about my pride more than you ans I am sorry for that sweetheart"
She accepts his apology and ignores the glares of the basketball team except for Lucas who is smiling at both of them.
"Come on princess, let's go back to mine and properly celebrate" he whispered in her ear and she agreed eagerly.

MASTERLIST
Pairing: Eddie Munson x Cunningham!Reader
Word Count: 3,874
Warnings: ED Mention, Hospitals, Mentions of Death, Coming out via music analogies(?)
Summary: Chrissy has been acting weird, and like a good big sister Y/N drives to Hawkins from Notre Dame to check in on her. Only to find out she has plans to meet up with Eddie Munson. Things take a turn for the worse and now Y/N gets wrapped in to the horrors of Hawkins. Hey, at least she has the company of the guitarist she was sweet on back in high school for comfort.
Author’s Note: The calm before the storm... the fluff before the angst fest... dun dun dun...
Track Eighteen
Y/N thought about the laundry list of felonies and misdemeanors she's been a part of in the past week. Breaking and entering, drug possession, assault, tampering with a police investigation, destruction of police property, and now some more breaking and entering. It was a welcome distraction from the shit show she had to explain to everyone earlier, everything about Vecna's plans for Hawkins. She wasn't as terrified as she was before, now she was just angry. It was buzzing inside of her, and she felt as if she could take on Vecna with her own bare hands. Drive a stake through his disgusting chest, right into the heart she wasn't entirely sure was there in the first place.
Eddie, Steve, and Robin were hesitant about attacking Vecna directly, and not without reason. Hawkins' very own personal superhero Eleven wasn't with them. They couldn't rely on her powers to defeat the big bad this time. They were on their own. It was a sobering realization for the group, and Y/N wondered what David must have felt like when he went against Goliath. Was he scared? Did he feel brave? Was he filled with bitter rage like she was? The inferno was blazing so hot she thought she would explode at any moment. She knew she should focus on coming up with a plan to kill Vecna, but right now all she could do was stare daggers at Steve Harrington's head.
Eddie was going to tell her something. Something very important. Y/N had an idea of what it was, and if she was right, she might actually punch Harrington in the face for interrupting them. She thought about confessing her feelings to Eddie right then and there, but he made her a promise, and she desperately wanted him to keep it.
"That all sounds good in theory, but there is no pattern to Vecna's killings. At least not one I can decipher. We don't know when's going to attack next. We don't even know who he's going to attack." Robin babbled, Y/N was half paying attention, content with glaring at Steve.
"Yeah, we do." Max interrupted. That got her attention. They all turned to look at the redhead standing in the corner of the room. She looked nervous, arms holding herself in protection. "I can still feel him. I'm still marked. Cursed. I mean, Y/N do you feel anything?"
"No. The second I woke up I felt... normal? I guess? Nothing different from what I felt before." Scared shitless, frustrated, upset, relief, all normal emotions she's felt since Chrissy died. She didn't feel haunted, possessed. No deep rooted feeling that someone was watching her.
Max nodded, before she continued on, "I ditch Kate Bush, I draw his focus back to me."
"Max. You can't. He'll kill you." Lucas sounded like he was begging for her to be wrong, like her name was a prayer of salvation rather than a death sentence. Y/N stood and walked over to where Max was standing, heart beating rapidly in her chest.
"Lucas is right Max, you can't. No, it's not happening." Y/N was frantic, in that moment she didn't see her, she saw Chrissy. She saw how she used to do her sister's hair in twin braids before bed. She saw how young she was, younger than Chrissy, who was already too young to go when she did.
"I survived before. I can survive again." Max sounded so sure of herself, so confident that she was right. Y/N didn't care, because the image of Chrissy's broken face was plastered onto hers. She didn't tell the group about who she saw get hurt, who would die. She already regretted telling Eddie, like it was a self fulfilling prophecy, but she needed for her to know. Max needed to know what she was walking into.
"I saw Eddie die! I saw you die!" Y/N shouted, the blaze of hellfire coursing out of her, "I saw him torn to shreds! I saw blood pouring from your eyes! I saw corpses broken, bent, and bloody! I saw it all! I saw it over and over and over again! You just need to fucking listen to me Chrissy when I tell you you're going kill yourself!"
Christmas was normally a time for love and celebration, Y/N spent it fighting with her sister. She found Chrissy in the bathroom in the middle of the night, three days before the holiday. She was puking up red. Y/N rushed her to the emergency room right then and there. Fortunately, it was just dye from the red velvet cupcake they split just before their mother called them down for dinner that evening. It scared her half to death, she thought her sister was coughing up blood. On the drive home, she yelled at Chrissy for letting herself get as bad as she was. Full knowing she was a fucking hypocrite. She yelled those same words then, as she did now, scared, angry, and exhausted.
"I'm not Chrissy, Y/N." So simple of a sentence, and yet it nearly shattered the ground she stood on. She looked at Y/N like she understood something beyond the Upside Down and all its monsters. Max knew what she was feeling, she lost her sibling less than a year before. Y/N didn't know much about her relationship with Billy, but she knew it was complicated. Most familial relationships are, but both girls didn't have the normal complexities others did. Their's was darker, painful, a perfect calling card for Vecna's curse.
"I know... I know you're not. I just, I-" Y/N started before Max interrupted.
"It's okay Y/N, you don't have to explain. I know." They had a mutual understanding of each other. Agony, grief, guilt, all of them. Max was asking her to trust her judgement, knowing what could happen, knowing what they both saw when Vecna took them. Y/N didn't want to, she wanted to fight, crawl, scratch her way into finding some other way to stop him. But they both knew it was a fool's errand, so Y/N sighed in defeat, and took her seat next to Eddie. He opened his palm up for her to hold, and she took it without a second thought, like instinct.
It turns out grand theft auto was the next thing on Y/N's laundry list. They were all heading to The War Zone for weapons, something Y/N begrudgingly agreed to. Then Eddie came up with the idea of stealing his neighbor's Winnebago. So now they were sneaking around Forrest Hills, Eddie in an old Michael Myers mask, preparing to make another misdemeanor.
Eddie has found a window opening, but before he was about to jump in Y/N stopped him.
"Let me in first." She whispered, tightly gripping his leather jacket.
"What? Why?" Y/N couldn't see his face behind the rubber skin, but she knew that he had on his I'm-about-to-argue-with-you look.
"If there's somebody in there, they'll call the cops on me and you guys can still get away. If you get in there, we're fucked. So help me up buttercup, we're wasting time." She stood in front of the open window, reaching for both sides of the ledge. Then she felt two large hands on her waist, gently lifting her up so she could slide through the window. Y/N moved through the window with trained muscle memory, bending her body the same way she did as a flyer for Notre Dame. And if she flipped her skirt over to give the man below her a bit of a view as she did, that was between her and God.
She gave the group the all clear, and soon Eddie was following in after her. He rushed to the front seat, tool bag in hand. Steve ran up beside him to investigate, and Eddie was hot wiring the Winnebago like it was second nature. Y/N could see from her spot at the window, keeping a look out to see if the owners' were aware of their presence.
"Where'd you learn how to do this?" Steve asked over Eddie's shoulders.
"Well, when the other dads were teaching their kids how to fish or play ball, my old man was teaching me how to hot-wire, before he kicked my ass to the curb that is..." Eddie began, "Now, I swore to myself I wouldn't wind up like he did, but now I'm wanted for murder, and soon, grand theft auto. I'm really living up to that Munson name."
Y/N hated hearing him speak badly of himself, like he was just as bad as his parents were, that he was predestined to be. Eddie may have made a promise to himself to be better, but she made herself a promise too. When all of this was over, she'd do everything in her power to prove him how amazing he was.
"Eddie, I'm not sure I love the idea of you driving." Robin chimed in behind Steve. Y/N could see how close they were all huddled together, and the little green monster started whispering all sorts of things in her ear once again.
"Oh, I'm just starting this sucker. Harrington's got her." Eddie smirked, "Don't ya, big boy?" Y/N's jaw dropped. Big boy? Eddie? Steve? BIG BOY? The little green monster was screaming at her now.
She whipped her head back to the window as the Winnebago roared to life. Eddie moved in the passenger seat as Steve hopped in. Everything was chaos, Robin and Nancy ran to the middle seats, Y/N moved to the back with Dustin and Max. The road was bumpy as Steve sped off, everyone was screaming, but Y/N remained quiet. She couldn't help but think about what Eddie had said to Steve. It sounded like he was flirting with him. She saw the look on his face, that wasn't just friendly banter. Had she been blind this entire time? Was Eddie gay?
She would be disappointed sure, but it wouldn't have bothered her if he was. It wouldn't have been the first time she had feelings for a guy who turned out to be gay. She never went passed the kissing stage with her first college boyfriend Elton, and when she wanted to move on to the next step in their relationship he told her that he couldn't do it. Y/N was shocked at first, but they ended up being good friends after the fact. She wondered if that was that what Eddie wanted to tell her when they were in bed together? Were all those little moments alone blown out of proportion in her head? She'd have to figure out a way to ask him, before she let hope ruin her.
Eddie had his feet on the dash as Steve drove the Winnebago. He was navigating the backroads of Hawkins, telling him where to go to avoid police hiding spots.
"You're gonna stay on this road for a bit, in a mile or so you're gonna take a right." Eddie explained, revealing some more sage knowledge he possessed through the years of interacting with the underbelly of Hawkins. Steve and him had been chit chatting about nothing of importance since they started the drive, he thought Y/N would have moved up to the front once they got on the road, but she was sitting next to Erica in the back of the Winnebago.
"Alright," Steve began, "Ya know, it's silly... but I... I've actually, I always had this dream that I'd have this really... really big family. I'm talking like, uh, a full brood of Harringtons. Like, fix or six, kids."
"That doesn't surprise me at all, man." Eddie chuckled. From what Dustin told him, Steve was always the guy who took care of the kids of the group.
"Yea, six little nuggets. Three girls, and three boys.... Have you ever thought about kids?" Steve asked, and if he were being honest, he hadn't, not until recently. Eddie thought that if he didn't end up like his Dad, rotting in some prison, he'd probably be so busy working some measly job he wouldn't have time for kids. But when he did dream of his ideal future, one image came to mind.
"It depends, when I fantasized about it... I always wanted to find the Sharon to my Ozzy." Steve looked over to Eddie, clearly confused about what he meant. "Remember the bat guy?"
"Yea, bit the head off stage. Very metal, yada yada." Steve replied.
"Yea well, he's married to this woman Sharon Osbourne. She manages his music and goes on tour with him, total rock star soulmates. They have three kids together." Eddie closed his eyes, letting the vision run wild behind his eyes, "Maybe some day Corroded Coffin will gain some steam, us all going on tour making music and performing live. I can see myself with her, cheering me on while I'm on stage, late nights in the tour bus, or in some fancy hotel in a new city every week. Maybe further down the road we pop out some rug rats, one or two. Definitely not a full brood of Munsons." He could hear Steve chuckling from the driver's seat.
"Yea, it's a long shot, but ya know... most dreams are. What about you? What does the future entail for Harrington's small army?" Eddie tried to steer the conversation off of him, thinking about the future made him ache. Now more than ever, especially since the only girl he would imagine sharing his life with was sitting 8 ft away from him.
"I'd like to think that every summer, all of us Harringtons, we would pack into something like this and... just see the country." Steve began, "You know, the Rockies, Grand Canyon, maybe Yellowstone. End up in some beach town in California. Spend a week parked in the sand... Learn how to surf or something. Who knows, we could all see you on tour with your little monsters, man." Eddie could picture it. Somewhere out in California, just finishing up with a show the previous night. Steve ringing up the hotel they were staying in saying he was in town with his family. Eddie would look to Y/N, ask her if she wanted to bring the kids along for an outing. The ocean, sand, and sunshine all around them.
"Yea, sounds bitchin' man. Still not sure about the whole six kids thing, seems like a lot." Eddie looked in the rearview mirror, seeing everyone all together in the Winnebago. He had an idea where that number came from.
"If only I had some practice." Steve said as he pointed to the back of the vehicle. Yea, he definitely had an idea, and when Eddie made brief eye contact with Y/N in the mirror, all he could think about was making that idea a reality.
Steve eventually made it to the War Zone, Eddie tucked himself behind the driver's seat to remain out of site. Steve, Robin, Nancy, Max, and Erica left to go buy supplies. That left Y/N, Eddie, Dustin, and Lucas inside the Winnebago patiently waiting for their return. She had asked Robin to get her something to change out of, not thrilled about the idea of charging into battle in her cheer uniform. Eddie had made a brief noise in protest at her request, but she ignored it.
Y/N thought about how she was going to ask Eddie if he was gay, she knew it was something that had to be handled delicately, but she desperately needed to know.
"Hey Eddie, can I talk to you about something?" She began, fiddling with the end of her skirt.
"Uh, sure, sweetheart. What's up?" See that was what made her so confused, how could he say things like that to her so sincerely, and yet blatantly flirt with Steve? She couldn't wrap her head around it.
"Um, well." She wasn't sure how to go about this, especially not with Dustin and Lucas sitting within earshot. Then, an idea popped in her head.
"Well, I always just assumed you liked... metal, just the one genre of music." She began, "But earlier, it made me question whether or not you do like that one genre of music." Eddie was looking at her like she had three heads, but she continued on.
"You see, I had this boyfriend in college. When we first started dating I thought he liked the opposite genre of music I did, but turns out we liked the same. I didn't find out until later that he preferred Elton John, Madonna, and Cher over Bruce Springsteen. We broke up, but we're still friends! It didn't make me think of him less because of what genre of music he loved. So I was wondering, do you like the same genre? Or the opposite genre?" Y/N could see the gears slowly turn in Eddie's mind, right before it clicked. His eyes went wide, he looked shocked, Y/N could see his Adam's apple bob up in down from a nervous gulp.
"Well, you see..." Eddie stammered, "For me, it's less about the genre, and more about how the music, uh, makes me feel, I guess? I like Joan Jett and Siouxsie Sioux... but I also like Vince Neil and Rob Halford..." Eddie was refusing to look at her, his hands on his knees as he bounced his legs, a nervous habit of his. Y/N gently placed her hand on top of his, but he didn't take it.
"If I'm understanding you correctly... you like both types of artists?" Y/N asked, and Eddie slowly nodded. "Well, that's perfectly fine by me." He finally looked at her then, a shy and honest look on his face.
"Really...?" Eddie asked softly, and she offered him a smile in return.
"Yea, I mean... You don't choose what music, uh, speaks to you. I think it's stupid to judge someone based on what they love to listen to. It doesn't change how I think about you..." Eddie grabbed her hand then, and squeezed it twice.
"What the hell are you guys talking about?" Dustin interrupted. Eddie froze momentarily, but Y/N was quick to respond.
"Just music Dustin, it's usually what we talk about." He seemed to accept her answer, and returned to his conversation with Lucas. Eddie visibly deflated, all the nervous energy released from him. Y/N squeezed his hand twice in turn.
They had to make a hasty getaway from the War Zone, their trip cut short because of Jason Carver and his merry band of assholes skulking around the premises. Steve drove off in a hurry, with Nancy in the passenger seat navigating them to place where they could prepare for the fight uninterrupted. After awhile, the party found themselves in the middle of this open field surrounded by trees. It was quiet and secluded, leaving little risk of exposure. Nancy divided up roles for everyone, each group assigned to a different weapon construction task. Robin and Steve were by the Winnebago conjuring up Molotov cocktails, Eddie and Dustin were making some type of spiked shield, Max, Lucas, and Erica were working on handheld weapons, which left Nancy and Y/N on gun duty.
Y/N didn't know Nancy Wheeler very well, she was a lowerclassman when she was still in high school. She was in the middle of sawing off a shotgun, another felony to add to the list. Y/N chuckled to herself at the thought, getting Nancy's attention.
"What is it?" She asked as soon as the end of the barrel fell off.
"Nothing, just thinking about all of the illegal stuff I've been a part of in the past week. My mother would be sent to an early grave if she found out." Y/N didn't say she wished it was her mother in the grave over her sister, but she thought it.
"I'd like to say you get used to it, but you really don't..." Nancy paused, "I'm sorry about your sister, and that you and Eddie got roped into all of this."
"Thank you... You're a big sister too, right?" Y/N asked as she watched Nancy load the shotgun full of bullets.
"Yea, his name is Mike. He's in Hellfire with Eddie, right now he's in California visiting Eleven and the Byers... I was supposed to go too." Nancy let out a single shot into the distance, testing her work on the shotgun.
"Oh? Why?" Y/N couldn't help but wonder what would have happened if she did go to California. Max would have been dead without her and Robin's intel from Victor Creel, she shivered at the thought.
"My boyfriend, Jonathan, is Will and Eleven's big brother. We talked about visiting each other over Spring Break... He said I should come there, I wanted him to come here... It's complicated." Nancy let out another shot, and Y/N couldn't help but be a bit impressed with how capable she was with a gun. She never would have guessed.
"Yea, I get that. Relationships are complicated." Y/N couldn't help but look over at Dustin and Eddie. Both boys were wrestling around with each other, laughing and smiling. He looked like he was having fun, and Y/N felt her lips pull up in a fond smile at the pair.
"Can I ask you something?" Nancy asked, interrupting her one sided staring contest.
"Sure, what is it?" Y/N replied.
"Why aren't you and Eddie together? I can see how close the both of you are, it seems like a no brainer." That certainly wasn't what she was expecting. Y/N could feel the heat rush to her face, was she that obvious with her feelings for Eddie?
"Like you said, complicated," Y/N began, "For years I denied my feelings for him. I wasn't... the most emotionally together person back then." Which was the understatement of the year. Nancy remained silent, waiting patiently for her to continue, shotgun still in hand.
"I knew Eddie was a great guy back then, still is. I used to tutor him, and not to sound like a total cliché, he wasn't like any of the other guys I hung out with." Y/N giggled to herself, "He has such a big heart and really listened to the things I had to say. Not about school, but other stuff. He's funny, charming, and has a way of making you feel like you belong... It also helps that he's like, stupid hot."
"So, what's the problem? Why don't you ask him out now?"
"In the middle of a war against some inter-dimensional asshat?" Y/N could imagine how well that would go. Hey, Eddie? I've been absolutely gone for you since high school, wanna go out? Freddie Krueger's bastard be damned? Like that would work out.
"That's fair," Nancy chuckled, "But what about when it's all over?"
Y/N thought about it a lot recently, what she was going to do when the battle was over. Would she go back to Notre Dame? Pretend like nothing happened? Would she stick to ignoring her parents? Would she completely change her life after it all? She didn't know the answers to any of those questions, but there was one thing she knew for sure.
"If I get my way, when everything is all over, I'm gonna jump Eddie's bones."
