Bluebells
Today I saw bluebells. “A sea of nearly 45,000 of the Spanish bluebells at the Brooklyn Botanical Garden. They have their own wooded area filled with birches, beech trees and oaks called the Bluebell Wood.
I went early enough after the rain for there not to be many people, and even with the occasional truck or siren in the distance, I could almost believe I was in a real woods.

Until we meet again . . . New York
I remember when we’d take our young sons to cities and I’d hold a tighter than tight grip on their hands, or maybe it was their wrists, as we walked along sidewalks thronging with people. Another WIP update! QITN Sansa Stark from my fic 'Winter's Child'. The next time I decide to draw an embroidered overlay based on frost patterns, somebody needs to bonk me over the head with the hubris mallet.
Anyways, still trying to decide what to do with her sleeves- I don't know if I like the pearl wolf design and it was kind of just an experimental scribble. The weirwood carvings on the armrests have to go, I think. I was curious how they'd look, but I think it's too busy with everything else (truly, an amazing realization for my maximalist ass). I like drawing trees, though, so not a waste of time at all. Still trying to nail down the throne design- i'm trying to see if i can manage the fur-to-weirwood-leaves transition and i think it's going well so far.

The Japanese Garden at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens included a couple of five-foot tall bronze cranes, seen here ca. 1925. They were later removed.

Guess what, I got back to the US and the daffodils are just starting here, when they were just fading out in the UK. Double daffodil season, the best spring of my life 🥰
