Backstory;
**TW; SA, ABUSE AND DRINK ABUSE IS MENTIONED!** Her mother died during childbirth which then left Gemma and her siblings with their father. The death of her mother hit him badly then he turned to drinking as a way to cope with the drink but he then got aggressive and abusive. Unfortunately, this was only ever aimed at Gemma, her siblings were seen as the 'golden children'. The abuse started when Gemma was 3 years old and didn't end until she was 13. during this time she was abused and tortured by the hands of her father before him and the friends of her father each took turns to SA her.
At the age of 13, she had to do something that no child should have gone through at that age or should have needed to do. Her was about to SA again before she eventually killed him in order to get away and feel like she was free from all the pain and torture. After doing so, she then ran away from the family home, leaving her siblings behind and basically was on the run and living on the streets for most of her life since then. Her siblings were much younger than her so they never knew Gemma.
Gemma now lives with the nightmares and the haunting images and visions of what happened that night. She suffers with Depression and now trusts no one. She did seek medical help during this time but they wanted to admit her to a mental hospital and Gemma didn't want that and left without ever seeking it again.
There were many times she was sent to Foster homes but she ran away from them every time and didn't like them one bit. By the age of 24, she joined the SAS before she was then approached by Captain John Price and offered to join TF141.
Her relationship with Soap was purely FWB because she used to have one-night stands as a way of coping with her nightmares. Soap did catch feelings for her but Gemma dismissed it because they agreed no strings attached and purely FWB only. She tells him that she can't be loved or love anyone and has no heart. If he were to fall for her then he would get his heart broken. They argue over this which then leads to her having a one-night stand with Ghost. This then leads to her and Ghost questioning what their relationship actually is..

It’s not only a new uniform. It’s a new era. 🎖️
The Tower of London was part of history when HM King Charles' new cypher was revealed on the new Yeoman Warder uniforms.
The Yeomen Warders of His Majesty's Royal Palace and Fortress the Tower of London, and Members of the Sovereign's Body Guard of the Yeoman Guard Extraordinary, popularly known as the Beefeaters, are ceremonial guardians of the Tower of London.
In principle, they are responsible for looking after any prisoners in the Tower and safeguarding the British crown jewels.
They have also conducted guided tours of the Tower since the Victorian era.
All warders are retired from the British Armed Forces and must be former warrant officers with at least 22 years of service.
They must also hold the Long Service and Good Conduct Medal. The garrison consists of 32 (formerly 37) Yeomen Warders and one Chief Warder.
Although the Yeomen Warders are often referred to as Yeomen of the Guard, a distinct corps of Royal Bodyguards of the British monarch, the Yeomen Warders are in fact a separate entity.

- My oath on being commissioned as an army officer in Her Majesty’s Armed Forces
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers, swore allegiance to you, Your Majesty. Yet you gave much more and swore allegiance to us all. 🇬🇧
RIP Ma’am

Draft 1 - Her Eyes .
On a summer day in Birmingham, the entire alley was filled with the fragrance of blossoms, and laundry hung out to dry. People donned light summer attire, bakeries bustled with customers, and hair salons were crowded. Children played in the streets, and families joyfully welcomed their loved ones returning from the army. World War 1 loomed on the horizon, and there was an unsettling quiet before the impending storm. Recruitment advertisements for the army were scattered all around, compelling people to enlist.
Amidst the organized chaos, my friend V and I found ourselves unprepared for the sudden army recruitment. V was accepted into the army, while I failed to make the cut. Leaving our families behind, I was conscripted into the Tunnelers group, working tirelessly day and night to construct tunnels. Our mission was to tunnel to Somme, a process that took over 8 grueling months, all in preparation for placing mines.
As the war raged on and chaos engulfed the world, I received devastating news that V and his family, except for his 15-year-old daughter, had perished. The family had reportedly been on the run from the British Army for inadvertently sharing vital information with the enemy. I found myself responsible for V's daughter, K, the sole surviving family member.
Desperate to locate K, I scoured various locations without success. It was as if her existence had been erased, and my mind was filled with countless thoughts – "Had she been captured by the army?" "Did she relocate?" "Had something unfortunate befallen her?" Amidst the tumultuous events, the enemy relentlessly attacked, and my hope of finding her waned.
A year later, I rose to the rank of general in the British Army's Tunnel unit. With my newfound authority, I made every effort to locate the only family I had left, S. After several days, I received a lead suggesting that she had been sold to the Xing family, who operated a brothel. In the army, visiting such establishments was commonplace. I scoured these places, determined to find S, and after several months, I was certain that I had located her. Slowly gaining her trust by claiming to know her father and mother, I brought her to my home, where we embarked on a new life. I had regained my family, and in turn, she had found me.
Months later, as I sat reading in my room, S approached me in tears, her eyes conveying the sorrowful news of my impending demise.

Touching Army/ HMQ cross-over fact. Not really Captain related, except that it concerns two of his favourite things. 🙂
After WW1, cavalry officers were permitted to buy the war horse they’d ridden in the field of battle. The late Queen was told this and said “Yes, I know.” She had learned to ride as a child on an ex WW1 charger.
