in the Brazilian Dub, Vash is called "The Burst Of The Cattle" (estouro da boiada) instead of "The Stampede". I think that's super cool
is there any dub that changed vash's "artistic name"?
additional note: "estouro da boiada" it's a linguistic expression for collective panic, escape, scream to everyone and breaking laws

So, in Brazilian politics, Carlos Bolsonaro (one of the president's sons) has sued in the Supreme Federal Court (which he said could be shut down with a solider and low-ranking military officer) politician André Janones for calling him a 'militiaman'.
Tumblr media
So, y'know, don't call Carlos Bolsonaro a 'militiaman'. Don't mind the hints of connections between his family and paramilitary gangs. Carlos Bolsonaro doesn't quite enjoy you calling him a 'militiaman'. Or, also in Janones's offenses against him, 'shit' and 'vagabond'. So, be kind, will ya. Don't call him any of that. That's just mean.

it’s time for the JOblr census results 🧡🙌
before we start i want to thank everyone who took their time to answer this silly little project, gathering responses from 203 baby boos!! it’s my first time doing this so hopefully i can bring some excitement with the results <3
so buckle up and let’s get into it
general questions
Which continent are you from?
Tumblr media
Unsurprisingly, the majority is European with a total of 80.8% but it’s amazing to see that they’ve crossed the continent’s border and we also have 9.9% people from North America, 3.9% from Australia & Oceania, 3.4% from Asia and 2% from South America. No person chose the Africa option.
Which country are you from? (optional)
With this being an optional question, 162 respondents out of 203 opted to answer it. Let’s take a look at the top countries by number of people in JOblr (small note: I counted the few people who wrote England or Scotland as part of the UK answer)
Drumrolls 🥁…..
Finland - 29
UK & USA - 15
Germany - 11
Poland - 9
Italy - 8
Australia - 7
Sweden - 6
Austria, Spain, The Netherlands - 5
Croatia, Slovenia - 4
Czechia, France, Romania - 3
Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Hungary, Lithuania, Norway, Philippines, Portugal, Ukraine - 2
Bolivia, Brazil, China, Estonia, Greece, Iceland, India, Luxembourg, Malta, Mexico, Russia, Switzerland - 1
How old are you?
Tumblr media
45.8% of us are between 18-25, following by 23.6% between 26-30, 18.2% between 31-45, 10.8% under 18 and two people who are over 45 years old.
Are you part of the LGBTQ+ community?
Remember when they said Joker Out are for the girls and gays? 🏳️‍🌈
Tumblr media
Well that was absolutely not wrong since 77.3% baby boos answered that yes they are part of the community, while 11.8% are questioning and 10.8% have answered no
tumblr activity questions
How do you participate on JOblr?
Tumblr media
a majority of 98 people are mostly reblogging posts in the fandom but sometimes making posts of their own, 38 are only reblogging while 36 lurkers have stepped out of the shadow and made themselves known. The least amount of people (31) said to be active posters
Do you post any of the following?
Tumblr media
It’s already known this fandom is mad talented and entertaining!! It’s always a joy seeing everyone’s creations and posts no matter the type. And the people who are only enjoying and supporting the content are just as important 🫶
Do you also post about Käärijä?
Since these two fandoms are basically overlapping, sometimes even seen as one fandom, I was curious just how much
Tumblr media
50.7% also post about Käärijä outside of Joker Out, while 35% don’t post about him at all (or perhaps very rarely). 14.3% are mainly coming from Käärijä’s fandom
joker out questions
How did you find out about Joker Out?
Tumblr media
Another unsurprising result, with 89.7% of us finding out about them through Eurovision. But it was really cool to see that there are people who discovered them differently. Ten people found out about them through Tumblr or other social media, to four they were recommended by someone and one through a music platform. The “other” option was chosen as well and included:
finding out about JO through Käärijä
through a music blog review
on slovenian radio
Who from the current members is your favorite?
One of the hardest questions but it had to be done
Tumblr media
So Tumblr’s top favorite members areee:
Bojan - 69 votes
Jan - 42 votes
Kris - 40 votes
Nace - 35 votes
Jure - 17 votes
Have you been to a Joker Out concert?
Tumblr media
I did not expect this one to be so balanced but I am pleasantly surprised! 104 people have been to a JO concert, while 99 haven’t. It often feels like you’re the only person who hasn’t seen them live yet but it’s nice to see that you’re not alone, so if anyone feels the same don’t worry our time will come too 🥹
If you answered yes, have you seen them multiple times?
Tumblr media
Out of the 104 people who previously answered yes, there’s still a balance between those who have been to only one concert and those who have been to multiple
If you’re into RPF, which one of the most popular ships (according to AO3) is your favorite?
Another optional question where 181 out of 203 opted to respond to.
Oh boy, ooooh boy this was a tough battle. It felt like I was watching a horse race. I can tell you that all three ships have been at some point in the first place, or even equal. Are you ready to see the most interesting result yet?
Drumrolls again 🥁…….
Tumblr media
BoJere - 58 votes
BoKris - 57 votes
Jance - 56 votes
The “other” option was also chosen and the following ships were included:
BoMartin
Jan/Jure
Kris/Jure
Nace/Kris
Nace/Jere
poly!JO
aaaand that’s it, you made it to the end 🫶 hope you enjoyed and why not see you on the next census!!

What's interesting about the complaints about "no POC" in anime is that the vast majority of characters are not white. They just have different colored hair and eyes for the sake of easily differentiating characters from one another. I guess what they mean is "We want more Black and (Afro-) Latine characters in anime," which is fine, but it does speak to a kind of ethnocentrism that prioritizes the USian understanding/value of race and ethnicity without considering what diversity would look like within the context of Japan. Similarly, I think of lot of people forget that animanga is aimed first and foremost at Japanese people. Foreigners typically only learn of titles because they're already successful enough in Japan to warrant translating and selling overseas. I don't see much value in Japanese creators tailoring their stories for Americans/Westerners because they already have a lot of competition in their fields with works being cancelled constantly. It's just not a good investment.
Whenever I do see diversity within animanga, it is interesting because there are usually characters who are Ainu, Ryukyuan, Portuguese, Brazilian (not necessarily Afro-Brazilians, though some are), Chinese, Korean, and other groups from East and South East Asia. Given the history of Japan, these are depictions that are interesting and answer/address some questions of the presence of these groups in Japan. I would argue that this is actual representation within the context of animanga. The Ainu (and other non-Yamato Japanese people) are oppressed in Japan. There are still Koreans (and their descendants) living in Japan from WWII who are oppressed, as well. There are close sociocultural and historical connections between Japan and Brazil and Japan and Portugal. It makes sense that diversity in Japan would look different from diversity in the US (not addressing how a lot of USian "diversity" is just telling the same White stories with ESG-insentivized checkboxes, so not true diversity at all). The landscape of animanga is just what you get when there's media coming from a country that's over 98% homogenous. I'm a Black and Hispanic animanga fan (same anon from 718760234172170240 and 719551319937007616), so I get how disappointing it feels. But just because you like something, doesn't mean it's made for you or that you're the target audience. It's made for Japanese people first and foremost. They just decided to make money from overseas markets, too. Also, why should a nation of people who typically never encounter Black people regularly feel the responsibility to represent us? It's corny and tone deaf when non-Black people beg to be included in Black-centered stories. The reverse is true, as well. Support more indie creators who make it a point to include "more POC" in their comics and graphic novels, and support creators telling different kinds of stories, not just checkboxes. The world is much broader than American ethnocentrism regarding race and ethnicity.

Diaethria euclides phlogea, the 89/98 butterfly.
The genus Diaethria is confined to Central and South America - 3 species are found in Mexico while the remainder are widely distributed across the Amazon and Andes. The butterflies often frequent human dwellings, and are considered a sign of good luck by some communities.
The uppersides of all Diaethria species are black, marked on the forewings with a diagonal band of metallic blue or green. In some species this colour is repeated on the hindwings in the form of a submarginal band.
The 89 or 88 numerals which appear on the underside hindwings of clymena are present in all 12 of the Diaethria species but vary in colour, thickness and shape. In clymena the lines are quite thick, and the markings often form an '88' figure, while in others such as neglecta and euclides they are thin and form an '89'.
Diaethria clymena is quite variable in appearance - in some examples the black markings on the underside are thicker than those shown in the illustrations on this page. In several subspecies the black 89 markings are confluent with the innermost black submarginal line. The white ground colour of the hindwings often becomes dirty and brownish on older specimens, as illustrated below. There are 13 named subspecies distributed variously from Nicaragua to Brazil.

Day 2: GREED: SHŌYŌ HINATA
Tumblr media
You’ve been watching him for a while now. He is here every day, same time, same place. The local beach of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. And every time he is playing beach volleyball with the local residents of Rio, his smile is just as bright as the hot sun that shines almost each day. Watching him behind your sunglasses whenever he plays, you can't help but watch from a close spot as the sweat drips down on his shirtless hot body and it's not just his body that is smoking hot, it's his cheery and extroverted personality that has you weak for him. But just on another usual Saturday morning, you are tanning in the hazardous heat, when a shadow all of sudden takes away the light from your upper body. When you take your sunglasses down, you see a very familiar ginger head staring down at you with the biggest grin while his hands rest on his hips. He shamelessly ogles you up and down with his sunglasses, almost greedily, like he wants to eat you up like a delicious scoop of his favourite ice cream. ''Hey, my name is Hinata Shōyō, I know you have been watching me during my games. I must say, I haven't seen anyone as gorgeous as you around here before.'' When he leans his face down a little bit, you see a bright pearl mandarin orange shine brightly at you, along with sharp canines that make his smile dangerous. ''Want to play some beach volleyball with me and we can... get to know each other a little bit more? I can show you how to do a proper serve.''

The oldest place on planet earth is in Venezuela. It's called Mount Roraima.
Mount Roraima is located in the northern part of South America and on the triple border between Venezuela, Brazil, and Guyana.
Located in the Canaima National Park, it is the highest of the tepuis — a type of table-shaped mountain very characteristic of the Guiana Plateau — standing almost 3,000 metres above sea level.
Mount Roraima is composed of sandstone of the Proterozoic Eon formed about 1.7 to 2 billion years ago, therefore among the oldest rocks on Earth.
It contains a large amount of quartz deposits, 98% are silica particles, forming white or pinkish crystals several centimetres long.
