Asides from their self made music and past LOONA connection, an efficient way in which LOOPiN has managed to grab attention from the public and build a fanbase is through their variety content, vastly available on the group’s Youtube channel.
Among the occasional one or two video series that come and go, they currently have 7 fixed variety segments that are vastly popular: LOOPiN Camp Camp, Competitive Karaoke (COMPEKARA), LOOPiN’s Heart To Heart, Minhang’s Hobbie Haunting, Therapy Kitchen, LOOPiN Log and LOOPiN Log: While At The Studio (WATS).
Tumblr media
LOOPiN CAMP CAMP (2020 –) has the most improbable origin: born out of a joke scenario where fans asked what camping as a group would look like to Dylan, a former Boy Scout and J.J, self proclaimed ‘nature enjoyer’ – they quickly concluded that most of their bandmates would not survive, which prompted ongoing Vlives where they contested that conclusion and placed their own bets on how it would go. The joke went on for almost two weeks and was all that was talked about in fandom spaces at the time, until it eventually culminated on a viral poster edit made by a korean iNSYNC for the at the time hypothetical ‘LOOPiN Camp Camp’. New Wave Music quickly picked up on the hype and turned the idea into a reality show that ended up surpassing all of their expectations in chaos, entertainment and popularity. With three seasons of 11 episodes each, ‘LOOPiN Camp Camp’ has more than 50 Million views as a whole, always being an event with each new episode release.
COMPETITIVE KARAOKE / COMPEKARA (2023 –) is a brand new series endeavor, Gyujin’s very first concrete creative contribution to the team since joining LOOPiN in early 2023, but it’s proven itself to be an instant hit for the way it makes, as the name suggests, a team competition out of singing karaoke with very tight rules and disadvantages. In the game, the LOOPiN members get divided into 2 teams of 5, and each is given 10 songs with a similar theme (ex: rain, sky, one sided love, etc), but not similar genres; from ballads to trot songs to K-pop hits and flops from all eras, it's a playlist that has it all. The real challenge comes from how CompeKara operates: randomized into a lineup up to sing half a verse without further preparation or knowledge of the song, the team must get through it without messing up the lyrics and their timing. If they do, the song stops and they score nothing. There's two ways to win, 1) by being the team that concludes the most songs in their entirety or 2) by being the team standing after the opposition runs out of songs to sing.
LOOPiN’s HEART TO HEART (2019 –) often runs during the group’s promotion periods, filmed between practice breaks and at the back of music shows. In it the 10 members get randomly sorted into duos and given a prompt topic to discuss on camera by another member, often something they find unique or interesting about their dynamic that fans might not know about. Initially founded at LOOPiN’s official group debut back in 2019 as a way to better showcase their team unity, Heart To Heart can and often will turn into an awkward prank depending on who’s the target and who’s picking their team, which is always interesting to see. Still, the show isn’t far from getting emotional at times and fulfilling its initial premise.
MINHANG HOBBY HAUNTING (2023 –) is the most recent addition to the fixed roster of shows in LOOPiN’s channel, and certainly their most straight up comedic one. Shot as a mockumentary in which hobby specialist Hanjae is called to interfere in the workaholic ways of Minwoo and J.J, the show follows them on a mission to find something productive and unrelated to their careers to do. While the series seems to be coming to an end soon, fans are enthusiastic and certain that Hobby Haunting and its format can branch out to the other members and their lack of non-work related activities in the future, becoming another one of their recurrent projects.
THERAPY KITCHEN (2022 –) is undeniably a fan favorite series for its niche premise and all the surprisingly raw emotional moments it has captured between the LOOPiN members. Led by ‘host chefs’ Taesong and Dylan, each episode starts with them receiving an anonymous letter written by one of their bandmates depicting a current struggle, asking if they can cook something to help – they try, and present the result to whoever asked for it alongside a chat. ‘Episode 3: Lemon Pie Against Homesickness!’ with Haruki, ‘Episode 4: Honey Tea Of Instant Sleep!’ with Minwoo and the finale, in particular, perfectly showcases what makes Therapy Kitchen so special and made it a highly engaged series even after it was over. A second season with Gyujin joining Dylan and Taesong as a ‘host chef’ is already in the works, and it promises to use the input of fans in the making of the upcoming episodes.
LOOPiN LOG (2018 –) is the oldest running variety segment the group has, one that stayed with them since their pre-debut era, similar to LOONA TV, eventually becoming longer in length and adopting the classic Idol vlog format. As an individual series filmed by LOOPiN’s own personal recording cameras, it follows them throughout their day to day life and more recently, their individual schedules.
LOOPiN LOG: WHILE AT THE STUDIO (2019 –) started a little after the original LOOPiN Log, this time dedicated to their creative process. The videos on the WATS playlist are much shorter, with any barely passing the 9 minutes mark, and it’s part of the reason why it’s easier for the members. Historically, WATS has been at times problematic in the view of iNSYNCs: a lot of episodes have been privatized or deleted for raising concerns of the member’s work conditions and hours, with an assumed censorship being put on the show from 2020 and onwards. Currently, WATS mainly hosts recording behind the scenes, dance practices and the occasional Produce Line rushed update in their artistic breakthroughs.

Rema, The Prince Of Nigerian music
Tumblr media
Rema and Selena Gomez's "Calm Down" continues to shatter worldwide records as it advances its claim for 2023's Song Of The Summer, and indeed for every other season—it has in fact completed a year on the Billboard Top 100 chart, and even now continues to chart in the Top 20. And as its impact has been far reaching, so also have the accolades. The most recent of these came only a few days ago, when the song officially crossed 1 billion streams on Spotify, crowning it the first African song to reach this feat, and also one of the 500 most streamed music tracks of all time. Before this was the MTV Video Music Award ceremony, where a charismatic Rema received an award for the maiden 'Best Afrobeats Song' category. Before calling on his co-creator to say a few words of thanks, he paid homage to Nigerian music icons that paved his way to the world's biggest stages—names like Fela, pioneer of Afrobeat (no 's'); D'banj and 2Baba, prominent figures who ruled through the 00s; Don Jazzy and D'Prince, his mentors at Mavin and Jonzing, his record labels; and of course Nigerian music royalty Wizkid, Burna Boy and Davido.
It is fitting that he makes such acknowledgements at a time when he too is progressing towards a career of this status. Nigerian music's growth, like he succinctly put, has come slowly but surely off the back of these creators, so that now, "Calm Down"'s worldwide acceptance does not draw the surprise it deserves from the Nigerian audience; exploits of the last two years appear to have numbed its citizens to what is possible. Two years ago, Essence, the Wizkid-Tems sultry collaboration that got a Justin Beiber touch for its remix, was having its moment in the sun with each new step applauded by the country, and it is important for context that Rema’s song has already amassed five times as many Spotify streams as its predecessor.
For many, this moment was always going to arrive for Nigerian music, the day when we would no longer need tags like "For an African artist" to qualify a new win; we would compete with parity against music from anywhere in the world. And for a tiny subset of these believers, it was always going to be Rema at the forefront of the vanguard effecting this cultural revolution for Nigeria. For the artist, born Divine Ikubor, has always borne a mark of divinity.
After catching the eye of D’prince, CEO of Jonzing record label, via a cover of his song, "Gucci Gang" that he posted on Instagram, the Benin-based singer got an invite to come to Lagos for a proper audition, after which he was signed to Jonzing, a Mavin record affiliate. At the age of 19 he made his entry via a self-named EP, a Mavin tradition, that highlighted in only four songs what Rema was set to bring to the industry. His euphonious vocals were for many the biggest and most prognostic highlight, but they masked other crucial aspects of his artistry—the depth of emotion he channels on "Why", and his dexterity in balancing this beside the fast-spinning Afropop bangers, "Dumebi" and "Iron Man".
A few months later, he made his reprisal, but in a new apparel—Trap music. His Rema Freestyle EP projected speedy delivery, snappy trap beats and rhymes about money, as Rema displayed another aspect of his artistry. Most noticeable was his sparsity of romantic themes on the new project, the substance with which he propped up his earlier effort. His third project, Bad Commando, found the balance between these two extremes, placing confident statements of self-aggrandisation (Dem know say I be bad commando”, he sings on Bad Commando) side by side with affecting professions of infatuation (The moment I see you na up NEPA, he begins on “Lady”), while he switches between Trap and Pop on the production side of things.
Releasing this project meant it was a very busy debut year for the singer, and at the 13th edition of the Headies he was awarded the Next Rated award—earmarking him as the next big star. In January he picked up a similar plaque at the Soundcity MVP Awards, and together with his City People Award for Revelation Of The Year, these plaques underscored how outstanding his debut year was. In 2020, though, it was time for the next stage of music release strategy, and this time he worked by releasing singles, as he tried to establish his sound as a balance of his Afropop, Trap and Arabian music origins. His first effort of the year was the two single pack of "Rainbow" and "Beamer", and the latter was the significantly more successful song, featuring Jamaican producer Rvssian who incorporated traces of the Dancehall genre.
These songs, along with his June release, "Alien", were drawn chiefly from the Trap corner of his artistry, but to properly dominate a country like Nigerian, he would need to create for a dance-loving audience, and with his next two singles, the melodious, groovy "Ginger Me" and the explosive "Woman", he sought to do exactly that. With the latter, Rema’s material also took on a sultry turn—“I too like woman, me I no dey gboran”—that he reprised with his next single, the Don Jazzy–produced "Bounce". Already Rema’s profile was growing exponentially on a national level as he sought inroads into the global market.
2022, for Rema, was the time to crystallise this three-year dominance in Nigeria's industry into a recognisable global profile. He released "Calm Down" in February, melding Afropop, Arabian and Dancehall influences for a track that was still authentically Nigerian—"Girl you sweet like Fanta", he says, reworking a popular Nigerian children's rhyme into a missive of playful adulation—and yet lent itself to foreign acceptance. To advance its entry into foreign markets, a stroke of collaborative genius brought a Selena Gomez remix, pouring fuel into the fire of the song's momentum so that it sauntered into the next gear of its worldwide ascent. With this remix has come multiple broken records, a couple of awards (including one for Rema as Headies Best Male Artist), and certifications that continue to roll in by the day.
As Rema continues to break new grounds both historically and geographically,—as in his recently-completed Indian tour—the next sets of doubts will centre around whether he can extend this fame beyond "Calm Down", and insert himself properly in world stardom. But that should be no problem. A combination of his astute singing talent, evocative writing and undeniable star power should ensure Rema fulfils his promise as prince of Nigerian music.

im bored i’m just gonna make more jd lore posts - SCARLET’S PALACE
Tumblr media
ah scarlets palace in dancity (in danceverse eternyx, don’t question it)
the gays stay winning wtih just dance like really
so before we talk about any other performer at scarlet’s palace, first we must talk about the enby drag legend Scarlet Gold themself. (real name Samson Garnet.)
Their first appearance was in You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real).
Tumblr media
Now there is a quote from Just dance mag on the poster outside of scarlet’s palace, there isnt a full look at it but most of it is shown.
“...Scarlet’s show ever! ...is simply the best ...mer of our time.” i assume that means performer
and you make me feel definitely lives up to that imo best 2022 song idc
and yes Scarlet/Samson is the first coach to use they/them pronouns
icon
now that we’ve learned about the owner, lets talk abt some other performers at the palace.
and we’ll start out with the new and HOT performer (figuratively and literally) Luke Cypher
Tumblr media
now he probably has the MOST lore bc he’s the only one with a whole official tiktok to himself
so i’ll just put the whole transcript of that here
“Born from the fire goddess Derkes, he was made to set the Danceverses on fire with his hot moves. For a long time he was lost trying to find his place among the other deities in their Danceverse. That’s when he discovered the Danceverse Eternyx. He felt like he found his home among the other fiendish and friendly creatures. So,  he moved there with his relative Ann G. Lina to enjoy the endless crazy nights.”
also Derkes is actually P3 of Woman so Luke Cypher is actually the third child of another coach/other coaches in JD23
now you might be thinking
who tf is Ann G. Lina
everything
Tumblr media
now we don’t know much about her, apart that she’s relatives with Luke Cypher
the most lore we have besides that is the twitter community manager thinks her favorite food is mac n cheese so
now we must move on to
*the retro-actively at scarlets palace performers ig*
now scarlet’s palace only started existing in jd23, but quite a few songs and coaches have been shown to be at the palace
so here’s a rundown of them
Tumblr media
Hot Stuff takes place at Scarlet’s Palace, as shown in the name and description for the background in jd23
“Shake it at Scarlet's“
“This palace is full of queens.“
Tumblr media
the coach from I Will Survive is seen on a poster outside of Scarlet’s Palace in Disco Inferno, with the name Johnny Zomby.
Tumblr media
now Rita Pina is the first character at the palace that got a name, as she was called Rita during a Just Dance Class video where the performer of Drop the Mambo, Medhi Kerkouche, went through steps of performing the song
OH ALSO SPEAKING OF THAT, Drop the Mambo was originally planned to be performed by a female dancer, but the developers in charge of the routine made him the dancer instead because of the sheer energy he had while coaching
this makes Rita the first coach to be portrayed by a dancer of the opposite gender
OH ALSO she was in Sugar, dancing with the coach of Love Me Again
good for them
Tumblr media
lets hope it goes well bc Love Me Again actually has TEN exes but thats another story
ok this is getting too long, last one
Tumblr media
Finally we get to Boy, You Can Keep It, with the main coach Fuchsia Blue.
now fun little jd fact
Fuchsia Blue was meant to be in a music video for Todrick Hall’s Just Dance version of Nails, Hair, Hips, Heels. (thats where fuchsia got her name along with harlem, doremi, maybel, and probably some others im forgetting)
OK now i think we’re done until next lore drop or whatever
so that was all the lore in Scarlet’s Palace... i think
i might’ve missed something
anyways lets all bow down to Scarlet’s meet and greet and wish Rita and her boyfriend well (they need wishes)

middle art by @no-interest-rightnow. warnings for topics relating to drug abuse
basic info/pre-gorillaz.
• nicknamed puck. real name is unknown
• always seen wearing sunglasses of different sorts. doesn't matter what kind, just as long as their eyes are covered. no one's ever seen them
• no specifically stated gender, but it's implied that they are trans masculine. only ever referred to with gender nonspecific terms
• clothing style consists of a cross between layered t-shirts with ironic sayings on them (ex: world greatest grandparent) or baggy clothing with bright patterns. most are ratty & full of holes, but they never change their style
• not much is known about their background. a few documents accessible to the public lets you know puck was born in america before moving to the u.k when eighteen
• met 2D, then known as stuart pot, there through a job at uncle norman's organ emporium and a shared love of art. became good friends. didn't really care for paula cracker at the time, but mostly kept to themself anyways
• came to know murdoc almost a year later after the first infamous car incident. they didn't like him at first, in fact, they hated him, and only stuck around him to make sure he took proper care of 2D. actually broke the bassist's nose in a fight after he flung their friend out of a car, successfully blackening his second eye
• only reason they ever got roped into the gorillaz shtick was thanks to 2D, who refused to be a singer for murdoc unless puck was brought along. they couldn't sing, nor play any instruments, but they could write. and had a keen ear for music
• met russel and noodle through the band not long after, becoming much better mates with them than murdoc almost immediately
• has a drug problem. it's especially bad in their earlier years. dabbles in hardcore drugs & smokes way too much weed. they only ever try to hold out if noodle is around, attempting to be a semi-good role model for the kid. even get's on to 2D for being high when he's supposed to watch her
phase one — 'gorillaz' 24 years old, 2001
• not an official band member for the gorillaz. they don't play on tracks or anything. sort of just hangs around & gets their hands on lyrics or beats. no stage presence
• had their own space before the band. but after the debut album kicked off, they barely bothered to visit it. basically just lives wherever the band does at this point
• travels with them pretty much everywhere too. especially after the release of 'gorilla'. technically on payroll as a writer and as a roadie, but still sleeps in the same living space as the band. 2D has a little trouble getting shut eye in those first few months otherwise
• on the first album, puck is credited with writing lyrics for quite a few songs, but most noticeably 19-2000, clint eastwood, 5/4, as well as directing most of the music videos (skipped out on rock the house after hearing murdoc would be wearing a thing)
• fights with said bass player quite a lot during this time. normally over small things, but it's only ever amplified by him being drunk and puck high. russel usually steps in to physically separate the two in time
• puck doesn't care much for paparazzi. (that's an understatement. once they'd thrown a brick at a reporters camera to get them to back off), but they do participate in a few magazine/radio interviews as long as they've been planned ahead of time. because of this, puck's gone on public record stating their music inspiration comes mainly from the cure, pearl jam, de la soul, and other bands
• appears in a few self dubbed 'gorillaz-bitez' at the time; most noticeably 'game of death' in which they are seen happily betting against murdoc and winning
• not counting the few pictures still around and/or taken pre-gorillaz, this is when puck appears the most feminine or least masculine. as time progresses, subtle changes are added
phase two — 'demon days' 28 years old, 2005
• in between phase one and two after the band took a break, puck floats around the world doing odd jobs and buying way too many drugs (a downer when it comes to their addiction. doesn't care for stuff that's all high energy. prefers the mellow feeling weed & stuff like shrooms or xanax will bring)
• comes back to the band for a second album, but only after noodle reached out from an abandoned kong studios with the building blocks for a new album. puck automatically accepts her offer, and helps her refine some of the demon days songs before contacting anyone else
• most noticeably dedicates a lot of their time into el manana, o green world, white light, every planet we reach is dead, and dirty harry
• almost got fired by kong studios at one point for showing up to an anti-war protest where the public could see, but the entire band went to bat for them and ended up supporting the motivation behind dirty harry as a result
• this phase is when they form even closer with a young noodle. even manages to build an okay relationship with murdoc through demon days, to the point where puck wouldn't mind one bit if he needed to ask a favor of them—a huge step forward
• puck also got absolutely pumped when de la soul agreed to fly out and record their parts for feel good inc. just knew that noodles melody and their lyrics would make for an unforgettable song, and they were more than right
• is actually in the feel good inc. music video as an extra/cameo instead of just directing it, marking their first official onscreen debut as an unofficial member of gorillaz, even if they aren't in the band
• canonically slept with murdoc around phase two. neither of them were sober when it happened, and puck swears it was only to shut murdoc up. but everyone noticed the change in mood for the two of them the following weeks
• it does happen again, and this time the both of them are sober. puck will kill anyone if they ever attempt to bring that up
• during the mtv cribs episode done on gorillaz that murdoc helps the channel produce, puck can be seen passed out and drooling in a bedroom that clearly doesn't belong to any other band members, more or less confirming that they live full time with the band now
• their info card on screen reads, "nickname: puck. occupation: writer, director, friend of 2D's. fun fact: used to have a speech impediment," (which is how they got the name puck since fuck used to be their favorite word.) only wakes up to chase everyone out after murdoc leans to whisper something in their ear
• wasn't actually present during jimmy manson's audition and subsequential humiliation, so manson didn't really care about killing them as much in comparison to the rest of the band. however, right before the filming of the el manana music video, coincidentally right about the time manson works his way up in the music industry ranks, puck and him got into a huge fight over pulling/not pulling certain songs. they won in the end, and it angered him so much that he ended up plotting to kill them along with everyone else. but they're on the bottom of his list overall
• after el manana, puck copies the rest of the band and essentially drops off the face of the earth. with noodle presumed dead, it marks the beginning of a very dark time in their life
phase three — 'plastic beach' 33 years old, 2010
• puck draws in on themself a lot in the years between demon days and plastic beach. they end up going back to their hometown in america to lie low for a while, but it only launches them into the beginning of a long mental episode
• only makes one call during those long months in america, and it's just to let 2D know they went back to america in case he came looking for them. they hoped he wouldn't, and he didn't
• eventually the boogeyman finds and kidnapps them around the same time as 2D; both instances under murdoc's orders. the likes of which puck hadn't seem much less talked to since the bands last el manana recording
• he claims that he needs the both of them in order to make a new album
• plastic beach becomes puck's mental prison. unlike 2D, who is kept prisoner by a fear of both whales and now murdoc, they end up developing a crippling mentality that confines them only to the recording studio and their room
• puck's sunglasses reflect how they change as a person through each of the phases, and it really shows here. on the debut album, they had a simple knockoff pair. on demon days they were wore star shaped ones, but on plastic beach they have a singular pair held together with tape; the roughest they ever get. in later phases the quality of their sunglasses slowly become better until eventually puck's wearing a pair of shiny purple shades in song machine, signifying their official point of recovery
• they hate cyborg noodle. phase three will always be a little blurry to them, thanks to drugs & trauma responses, but they distinctly remember hating cyborg noodle and murdoc for creating her. it reminded puck too much of the real noodle; who at the time they assumed to be dead
• the climax of everything horrible happens two days before the anniversary of noodles 'death'. puck nearly died from an overdose. it was the lowest point in their life, and the only time 2D ever saw murdoc worried for someone other than himself during that phase
• they had really gotten into r.e.m then—so much so, that that's what was playing as they choked on their own vomit in a drug induced sleep—murdoc attempting to kick the door to their room down in the background as it happens
• gets all their drugs through snoop dog when he visits the island to record his bits for videos & songs. murdoc and cyborg noodle won't let them leave, so it's not like they can get their fix any other way
• actually wrote melancholy hill all by themself (with some post-editing from, 2D) during plastic beach. it's supposed to represent how alone they felt and how horrible their drug problems got on the island. it was the first song they ever wrote completely about themself or their experiences to get released under a lable
• also had a hand in stylo, empire ants, and super fast jellyfish, but between spending months curled up in their room pushing their body to the limit with drugs & trying to keep 2D from making the same mistakes, melancholy hill took up most of puck's time
• relies heavily on music and nothing else during this time; not even 2D, who they still feel bad about basically mentally abandoning during plastic beach
• the events of rhinestone eyes is a giant cacophony of mixed feelings for puck. seeing russel again and noodle alive while avoiding helicopters that are trying to kill them can really confused a mentally fucked guy. because that's what they were at that point. mentally fucked
• puck lost a lot during plastic beach. it will take them a long long time to ever forgive murdoc for this years spent at the pink island (specifically eight years later at the end of phase five when he finally gets out of jail), but they never forget
phase four — 'humanz' 40 years old, 2017
• this is officially the period in time where they finally attempt to get clean
• their drug habit was on and off during the seven year break in between plastic beach and humanz, but it was clear to anyone that knew them that they were trying their best to quit
• the long break between albums was the only reason puck came back for humanz. it gave them time to heal and pull themself out of the state they had been in. if they hadn't had that opportunity, puck isn't sure they would have returned to gorillaz at all
• they actually grow a little scruff around this phase as spotted by the tabloids, causing the public to start speculating about their gender again (something they've always had to deal with and hated)
• works on songs like busted and blue during this time. that actually was a scrapped song puck started on plastic beach, and only decided to bring it back and finish it for humanz. noodle helped them to refine it
• despite writing busted and blue, puck put the least amount of work and effort on the humanz album than any other. mostly because they were trying to get sober. still makes a guest appearance in the saturnz barz music video & collaborates with popcaan on his part of the song some
• starts going to rehab regularly! 2D even starts going with them in phase four as a show of support which really helps puck to pull through. 2D himself is still on painkillers, but noticeably less so than before
• the press and public attention makes recovery hard, but they manage to finally pull through by the end of humanz (sober six years as of 2024!)
• they do have an altercation with an obsessive old dealer of theirs once they get off drugs. the dealer liked being able to boast that she sold drugs to famous people, most of the time overcharging puck because she knew they could afford it, so she got really aggressive when her main means of funding dried up—to the point where she managed to track puck down and get ugly. if murdoc hadn't been there to help scare the ex-dealer off, puck was unsure what would have happened
• this was the beginning of the uptick in their relationship
phase five — 'the now now' 41 years old, 2018
• phase five is a huge change in pucks life for the better. it's the beginning of their happier years
• thinks it's because murdoc got sent to jail at first. but as time goes on and the pit in their chest continues to ache, they realize that's not it
• really puck's just happy because nothing fucking insane is going on with the band for once. no more missing eyes (than usual), no zombies or ghosts, and definitely no trash islands painted pink, stuff still gets strange of course, i.e a missing bassist and meetings with jack black and his saxophone, but that stuff is more to their liking
• has time to actually pick up old & new hobbies other than music and song writing. particularly gets really into reading and film analasis
• around this time is when the subject of murdoc becomes tricks for them, but for a different reason than usual
• puck thinks the '#freemurdoc' movement is pretty silly. doesn't really want him to stay there, but puck knows murdoc has been to jail enough to watch out for himself well enough
• none of that stops them from visiting the bass player in jail though. they find themself doing it once or twice instead of just calling, which was more than any of the other band members could say
• a long few years ago, puck used to (and sometimes still does) watch the powerpuff girls with noodle when she was younger, so the both of them were understandably psyched when ace accepted the offer to take murdoc's place in the next album. noodles a bit more excited, though, seeing as puck is still trying to come to terms with the fact that they liked and missed murdoc, so they were preoccupied by that
• ace makes a comment a few months in that he just naturally assumed that puck & his buddy were together, which naturally makes their face light up a bright red. gets to avoid eye contact thanks to their sunglasses
• that may have influenced how they wrote song lyrics with the now now; just like with 2D
• by the end of the now now, puck has gone from being behind the writing of a few background songs & main hits on albums to nearly every single song. they, along with some contributions and suggestions from the rest of the band, are the main reason lyrics are even added to the melodies at this point
• wrote tranz, which is their way of not-so-subtly writing about how it feels to be them in a bodily sense, which underlying tones of the rest of the bands influence on them as a person throughout the years
• can be seen stumbling around in the humility music video while attempting to roller skate with 2D, who had been attempting to teach them how to do so properly all week. eventually it just shows them giving up and laying down in the grass to watch the clouds go by
• after the album is released to the public, puck appears at their second ever award show, since all the way back in demon days in fact, when the album gets nominated for a category or two. even dresses up. at least by their definition, wearing a tie haphazardly over their normal clothes. it isn't even tied right—something russel laughs at
• that means they are there when the band is announced to have won the award. is very awkward on stage as noodle accepts the award, but thinks that murdoc's pre-recorded thank you message that is shown is really funny. fun fact, that exact moment at the award show where murdoc showed up on screen was when puck realized that they really did miss and like him—romantically
• even after he finally gets out of jail for real, puck spends the next five years refusing to let murdoc know about their feelings. much to everyone else's chagrin
phase six — 'song machine' 43 years old, 2020
• phase six was probably the first time in decades that puck ever truly felt happy
• working on the song machine was a way for them to finally leave plastic beach and all the memories associated with it behind. the lost chord was their was of saying good-bye, and 2D's way of finally forgiving murdoc for the same reasons
• song machine really was just puck having fun and not worrying about anything for the first time in a while. they're sober, have a good (bordering on romantic) relationship with murdoc, and are even making more public appearances with the band for the first time in a while. still hates the paparazzi, though they do apologize for the brick incident on record around this time
• is actually able to stop using nicotine gum & patches to curb their need for cigarettes here. (they quit smoking cigs along with everything else when they got clean in humanz. complete cold turkey)
• still keeps in contact with ace at this point even though he's gone and murdoc is back in the band
• is absolutely just chilling the entire time. is in all the music videos shown having the time of their life after his most recent years, only really stepping out of their little bubble of happiness to help with some minor incidents (the pink ghost dilemma, sinkhole problems, etc.)
• probably helps murdoc build his little anti-negative energy hide out, and definitely feels a little bad about leaving the man behind during the desole music video
• when they go into space with everyone else in the winnebago, their spacesuit is purple and has crude graffiti like drawings all over it—curtesy of the whole band
• not a lot happens lore wise to puck during this phase, and that's perfectly all right with them. they're finally completely sober and getting to hang out with the people they care about the most. what else could they want?
phase seven — 'cracker island' 46 years old, 2023
• isn't sure how to feel about packing up and moving to l.a with the band at first since a lot of people from their clouded past are more likely to pop up in america, but they do anyway
• phase seven marks the beginning of murdoc and puck's actual relationship. it took puck a long time to come around to the fact that they actually liked him, flaws and all, but they had begun to realize that they aren't as young as they used to be, and that it's better to be truthful to their feelings and themself instead of hiding away. they already made that mistake once
• the media really starts to become a part of their life more than ever here. it has to do with speculation about murdoc and puck dating sure, but also with the introduction of moonflower and her cult. (puck finds her quite charming and enchanting, which makes murdoc incredibly grumpy. they change their tune about her once 2D is brainwashed, though)
• credited with writing new gold, oil, tarantula, baby queen, and pretty much every other song there is on the album. helps 2D with cracker island some too, but that was mainly him
• baby queen is actually a little about watching noodle grow up into who she is today. puck's always had a good bond with noodle ever since demon days, so baby queen is a very emotional song to them
• thinks the whole thing about 'murdoc's essence' is absolutely hilarious. it gives them a good laugh anytime they think about it. also, they won't admit it, but they find murdoc a little attractive in his cult robes
• gets really pissed when they finally figure out what's been going on with moonflower's cult and 2D. that's puck's best friend and literally the only person that's stuck with them through everything, so they are gonna fight to get him back. even if it's against an immortal cult
• in the silent running music video, which including cracker island is less of a music video and more of a retelling of that night, puck's sunglasses come off for the first time. ever.
• only murdoc sees it as he happens to be standing right across from them when it happens. the sight of it nearly breaks his concentration, and puck doesn't even realize they've fallen off until 2D is back to safety. they were that upset
• it's a big deal to murdoc about the glasses considering that puck has never let anyone see his eyes uncovered. not 2D, not noodle, not russel, and not even him during literal sex. they always kept their shades on or their eyes closed
• puck gets arrested with everyone, but murdoc of course, and ends up in the cracker island music video trying to start a fight with the police while noodle attempts to de-escalate the situation and calm them down
• when murdoc finally shows up at the hospital, he shares a soft kiss with a relieved puck off screen, publicly announcing their relationship and grabbing everyone's attention momentarily. the kiss calms puck down and marks the end of another era, leaving the band to go back to the l.a house and finally bring 2D with them once again

It's been said that the demons have peculiar and sometimes even outlandish mating rituals, but even these had far exceeded anyone's notions of what those of the Devildom's nobility had in mind when it came to the new human exchange student, a highly eligible bachelorette. Eight particular demons had their sights set on her, and it was unprecedented with what they were going to come up with to win her favor.
It was the evening of the first spring ball, welcoming the equinox. A time of rebirth, fresh growth, and more importantly to the demons, it was their preferred time to look for a partner. One wouldn't necessarily call it a mating season, but it could be accurate in some regards.
And there was only one prize worth the demon lords' time and attention: Altaira.
For the past week, each of the eight demons had tried various means of demonstrating their interest in her. One brought her shining knick knacks. Another merely made his presence more known to her by playing video games in her room. A third offered to cook for her. One had done her homework for her. Her room was cleaned. Laundry done. Cosmetics and bath items replenished. New sheet music and vintage records procured for her. And lastly, a new handbag made with the rare hide of a black unicorn and 24k gold hardware, known to be worth at least half a million Grimm, was left on her bed wrapped in a black and gold bow.
But the first spring ball was the night all of them had planned to make their first official moves.
She was the embodiment of luxury and decadence that night, wearing a full ballgown in the most beautiful rose gold satin fabric and off-shoulder sleeves, shining like ripples of rose waters beneath the castle lights. She was adorned with fine jewelry and hair pieces, her makeup full-glam as always, and hair left down in beautiful retro Old Hollywood curls. Her charm left no survivors, as she had everyone wrapped around her finger that evening. Little did she know that the game was then afoot to see if she would take any suitors.
First came the second born.
"Hey!" Mammon blurted out next to her. Altaira turned and lit up at the demon. Her adoring expression made him lose his gumption, causing him to stumble over his next words. "Well, if you aren't, uh, busy..."
"Would you dance with me, Mammon?" She asked sweetly. He melted internally at how she said his name. She held her hand out, and finally, when his brain cell came back into orbit, he took it and led her to the dance floor.
"So, is anyone buggin' ya tonight? Just say the word, and I'll give em what for," he tried to say roughly, but the blush on his cheeks wasn't terribly convincing.
She chuckled. "No, I think everyone is behaving so far. You're very sweet, though," she replied.
His cheeks turned darker, and his wings perked up on end, trying to catch her attention. He kept his focus solely on her and brought himself only slightly closer. Her jasmine and vanilla scent made him even more desperate. Finally feeling his instincts taking over, he started to ramp up his dancing skills, drawing her in close and twirling her away, watching as she nearly floated with grace. Those twinkling eyes shone better than any topaz he'd seen. His wings stood up higher and out proudly, and his chest began to vibrate with a softened hum.
He lost track of time and anything else going on when he was with her like this. His focus wasn't always the best in all situations, but when she was in his grasp, there was nary a person who could break his attention away. And maybe if he didn't win her favor tonight, he wouldn't stop here either. He'd always try for the rest of her days to bring her home to him and him only.
Before he could even realize it, she was stepping back. "Thank you for the dance, Mammon," she murmured sweetly.
Unable to string together anything else, he watched her walk away. She found Barbatos and took a drink he offered to her. The second born retreated to where his younger brothers sat, only to be met with their berating comments.
"Well, looks like Mammon struck out, no surprise," Asmo mused, looking at his fresh manicure. "Who's next?"
"I'll go," Satan purred. "I at least have a chance."
"We'll see about that," Asmo chuckled.
"I didn't strike out," Mammon mumbled to himself, looking away.
Satan approached Altaira smoothly, gliding around the other guests and asserting himself at her side, interrupting a lower demon.
"Might I have a turn with the lovely lady?" He asked charmingly.
"Of course," she replied sweetly, taking his outstretched hand.
The fourth born took her to the floor and led her through a waltz. But the moment her shadow blue eyes caught his shining blue-green ones, he verbally froze. He could feel her heartbeat thrumming in her hand, her perfume overcasting his ability to think, and her youthful, kind face put a halt to his ideation of wooing her. His plan was to snake his tail around her waist and keep her close, showcasing his defensive demonic armor of the scales lacing his appendage, but that was long gone then as well.
"Is something the matter, Satan?" She asked softly, her eyes widening. The way she even said his name had him stammering for what to reply with.
"N-Nothing... I, uh, well... You look... nice," he finally spat out. She gave a soft smile, and he knew he could have been so much smoother than that.
"Thank you, so do you," she replied joyfully.
Satan didn't even stand a chance, because as soon as the song was over, he was too overtaken with his frustration, or, we could call, "flustration" as the next bachelor came up to shoot his shot.
"Hey, Altaira, I brought you a cupcake. Also, can we dance together for the next song?" Beel asked innocently, inadvertently overshadowing his older brother.
She looked overjoyed. "Oh Beel! Thank you, you're so sweet. Sure," she replied. Beel guided her away from the still frustrated fourth born who finally realized she was gone and now failed his mission.
Satan stomped back to where his other brothers were, and Asmo could only laugh at his older brother.
"Smooth, Satan, smooth," Asmo chortled, all too smug at the moment.
"Shut up!" Satan snapped. "I'd like to see any of you do better!"
"Is that right?" Lucifer murmured behind the fourth born. Satan rolled his eyes and turned slowly to face the eldest.
"Don't even start," Satan hissed.
The eldest looked back out to the dance floor and watched Beel and the human woman dancing away. Beel at least looked happy, but that look was also how he looked at desserts from Madame Devian's, which made Lucifer slightly concerned. Though a finer eye was required to see how Beel's wings were subtly vibrating down his back, a soft hum following the tune of the song to try and keep her attention on him. The sixth born's concept was to offer food and then showcase his listening skills, which was a noble effort, but all in vain, he came to find.
"I think you all know that she's only entertaining your foolishness to be nice. She has no intention of coming back with any of you," Lucifer quipped.
Levi bristled then. "And how would you know?"
"Because that's her nature– to be polite and put on a front. You can see it the moment she accepts your invitations to dance. That uncomfortable smile, the forced eye contact, and the rigid way she holds herself. It's all there," the eldest answered.
"Sounds like someone else we know," Belphie jabbed back.
Lucifer snapped his head back toward the youngest. "I will have you all behaving yourselves. I know at this time of year you're all on edge, but dash those hopes away now of any thoughts you had of satisfying those urges with her. I won't have it."
By then, Levi had left as Beel was returning, determined to get his chance with her, even if she turned him down for more than just a dance.
"Save it, Lucifer. We all know you're interested in her as well, and you're no better than us when it comes to this season," Belphie snapped back.
"Remember that disgusted look he had when that witch approached him this time last year?" Asmo reminded them with a chuckle. They all laughed at Lucifer's dismay but quit when he sent a fiery glare back at them.
Their attention returned to Altaira, and to their surprise, they saw her and the envious third born giggling as she whispered things in his ears. All six sat in utter loss at what he could have done to earn such a gesture, even more so when they noticed Levi's thumb vigorously running back and forth over where it touched her hand, his tail lightly caressing the fabric along the hem of her ballskirt. When that song was over and he was returning, his face went awash with disappointment.
"Well?" All six asked in unison.
"Well what? You know it didn't work!" Levi barked, sitting down in a huff. "Didn't even get to try and talk to her. That was my whole plan."
"One, you are terrible at conversing. You should have had another plan. Two, you guys were talking! And touching! What did you say?" Asmo asked.
"I didn't even get a chance to show her what I wanted to do to show I was interested! She started talking about a new game she downloaded on her phone, and I forgot all about tonight!" Levi said in exasperation.
"Good job," Mammon grunted, his arms folded and sitting slouched in his chair, watching her take the next candidate to the dance floor, Belphie.
The youngest immediately began talking to Altaira about the stars and some recent meteor showers he was able to watch in the observatory. She seemed eager enough to listen, so the rest of the brothers were interested to see how this ended.
"Well? What do you think?" Mammon poked the first born.
"Think? I know she's still uninterested. Altaira is kind to Belphie because they're both similar in a lot of ways, but she's not letting her guard down for him to try anything," Lucifer answered arrogantly, swirling a glass of Demonus.
The youngest demon brother twirled her around and showed his more charming side to her, and there was a moment of doubt in the eyes of his brothers when she laughed whole-heartedly, a sound they rarely heard. Belphie gave her his warmest smile and glided across the floor with such an elegance and repose that his brothers all wondered where this side came from when considering his laziness. One could suppose that such sloth could wait if there's an opportunity for such favor from someone to possibly join his bed.
But that was not meant to be as she excused herself just as the song ended. She quickly flitted away from the floor and left all the brothers wondering what she was doing.
Belphie returned quickly, finding his chair next to Beel. He looked up to see all six staring at him.
"What?"
"Did you run her off?" Asmo asked seriously, now seemingly jealous and miffed. "She acted like she couldn't get away from you fast enough."
"She was tired, Asmo," Belphie replied with an eye roll.
"We all know Lucifer's too good for this, so, Asmo, I guess it's your turn," Satan mused, finishing his glass of Demonus.
"Oh, no, I won't be participating. I'm going to an orgy tonight, and Altaira already said no," Asmo replied gleefully. Even Lucifer gave a raised brow to his younger brother, while the rest had looks of varying levels of dismay.
"No way! So you asked her before the ball even started?! How's that fair?!" Mammon griped at Asmo.
The other five began to join the fray as the eldest slipped away to find Altaira back in the far corner, clearly seeking refuge as she folded her arms and hung her head low.
"Tired already?" Lucifer asked with a cocked brow.
"Aren't you?" She asked, slowly bringing her head up. His heart softened at that look because he knew she was being genuine when she looked up at him with the smallest creases in her makeup under her eyes, her brows slightly pinched together, and lips in a thin line. But it was moments like these when he truly felt connected to her, to the soul that lay within.
"Would it be a huge ask to come dance with me?" He murmured quietly to her.
Her head tilted, and before she could respond verbally, her body was doing the rest automatically by offering her hand to him. His large, gloved hand accepted it and led her to the dance floor once more.
"I was hoping this would be a slower song, one a little less taxing than a waltz," he murmured again to her. He was correct, and she nodded slowly. She shuffled in closer and nearly had her head laid against his chest, much to his pride's delight.
All six brothers sat in wrathful consternation.
"Of all the pricks..." Satan said with an eye roll, huffing as he slouched back against his chair, yanking down a glass of Demonus from an unsuspecting waiter who happened to just walk by, and then the fourth born was growling to get them to leave.
"You had to know that was coming," Asmo said with a tipsy lilt to his voice.
"Still, it's annoying to see Lucifer get his way like that," Belphie added bitterly. All six quietly drank their Demonus.
"I wouldn't be so sure," Mammon said very quietly. He was closely dialed in on the pair as they gazed into each other's eyes, the flicker of hope in the demon's, and the charming haze in the human's.
"Why's that?" Levi asked, lazily circling his finger on the rim of the glass while holding his head in the other hand, looking despondent.
"Wait..." Satan sat up, watching the new scene unfold.
Near the end of the song, and getting closer to the end of the night, a looming, tall, muscular figure worked his way through the crowd, head well above most the lower demons. At the same time, Lucifer was working his charms, his wings upright, and feathers fluffed out. He hovered over her and whispered in her ear, and chuckled lowly at her soft replies. Occasionally, she took in his demonic form, to his pride, and appreciated his meticulous appearance. His feathers would flutter, wings slightly waving to let the light catch their blue sheen, but anyone else could just mistake that for him dancing across the floor. When her gaze would travel back to his, he made sure to catch it and hold it for as long as he could. Truly, just as his brothers mentioned, he wasn't safe from spring's seductive song either, his instincts telling him to work faster so that he could lure her into his proverbial trap.
Just as Lucifer was about to strike, almost drawing her in closer to murmur his request to her with his lips pressed against her ear in a voice so sultry and deep that he was certain it'd cause the most erotic reaction from her, the pair was interrupted. A hand appeared on her shoulder, a large, taupe hand adorned with black nails and gold wrist markings.
"Altaira," a bright tenor voice called to her. At that same moment, the song ended, and the pair broke their union as she turned to face the Demon Prince himself, the eighth and final contender for the evening.
"Diavolo," she replied with a sparkling tone of surprise.
"I hope you don't mind, but I'd like to take you to the floor before the night is over. I can't leave my people wanting as I have yet to dance with anyone this evening," Diavolo stated sincerely, a kind smile on his lips. Lucifer bowed his head only slightly in understanding and walking away, but not before taking Altaira's hand and raising it up to his face.
"Thank you. I hope I can catch you one more time before we depart for the evening," he murmured to her, his ruby orbs trained on her lips. She nodded, and he left them to return to his brothers.
The six brothers remained silent as their eldest brother passed by, going straight for another glass of Demonus. Lucifer snatched one up and sat himself down, crossing a leg and glaring down the prince.
"So..." Mammon started to say but stopped.
"Not. A. Word," Lucifer snapped.
Taking the hint, the rest all watched the newest scene unfold, wondering what the prince's grand plan was if he was able to upheave the Avatar of Pride.
"Why have you not danced with anyone else? I'm sure one of the greater witches would've liked to," Altaira commented warily, sizing up the Demon Lord.
"You're right, there are others who likely would've taken me up on the offer, but I don't get to spend nearly enough time with you," he replied smoothly with a soft grin on his lips. His head was tilted down to speak to her softly, and his body, so large and muscular, totally eclipsed her except the outer ranges of her ballskirt from view during certain turns in their waltz.
"That's kind of you. Shall we make the most of it then?" She asked sweetly in return.
"Absolutely," he murmured, his grin turning more wicked.
As the song picked up, so did he. Diavolo led her through the most complex steps, twisting and turning her about the floor as others began to disappear to let the two have their moment. He was correct, as his people truly enjoyed watching him and letting him have the spotlight. But, of course, his dance partner was something of a spectacle herself, as it was still a rare thing to see a human in their realm, and more so to watch her dance with their crowned ruler. Some watched in envy, of either of the two, really, and others watched in lust, as the spring's siren song was leaving no demon untouched by its melody.
"Altaira," he murmured as the song was starting to reach its crescendo, so that others wouldn't hear.
The gold details on his horns and wings would occasionally catch her attention, shining perfectly and causing small reflections to bounce off them. She finally looked up at him squarely in his golden gaze, watching how his face shone under the castle lights. The strings increased in volume, the piano playing underneath carrying the tune along, causing her skin to flush with a prickling sensation, her synesthesia peaking at that particular moment as she studied his expression.
"Oh, he's good," Asmo observed drunkenly. "I'm off, got an orgy to attend."
None of the brothers even reacted to the fifth born, as they were all captivated by watching her and her only. Diavolo dipped her down in a grand sweep, and the crowd clapped softly as he brought her back up and continued to taking her in another lap around the dance floor, letting everyone see how the two reacted to one another. Their chemistry, like potassium chlorate and sugar, the fuel and the oxidizer, with the mix of spring's fresh, lust-ladden air like sulfuric acid to catalyze the reaction, was unmistakable. Passion in every step began to ignite the night, electrifying the air around them.
And not once did his sights wander. He was wholly and only focused on this radiant soul staring back up at him through shadow blue eyes adorned with black liner and pink glitter. She sparkled like the violent reaction they emulated, and he only served to keep it going in perpetuity. Sending her outward in a twirl, only keeping his hand latched onto hers, she looked back at him over her shoulder with a smile, and there wasn't a demon around who didn't feel her radiance bathing the prince. Pulling her back in, he drew her in closer, one hand held beside them, upright, while the other sank lower on her corseted waist, now resting high on her hip. He could feel her fingertips pressing more into his bare skin then.
"There's none more beautiful than you," he murmured softly in her ear, his cologne and natural scent filling her senses. "I know everyone here is vying for your company tonight, and forgive me for adding to the fray, but if you've made no other commitments, I'd love for you to stay with me tonight in my room. Maybe we could spend even more time together?"
"I'd love to, Diavolo," she agreed in a purr, kissing his cheek.
"Dammit," all six said in unison.
The game was over. Everyone's hopes were finally snuffed out by that one action, knowing not a single other suitor that night had received more than just her platitudes and active conversations. And as the prince brought her closer, her chest pressed against his lower sternum, still whispering in her ear and causing her to smile wider and wider, everyone understood that they would have to let their ambitions for the evening shatter, because there was no changing her mind, nor swaying the prince into letting his prize go.
Tumblr media
Late the next morning, Altaira and Asmodeus walked through the front doors of the House of Lamentation, arm in arm and still giggling, holding a few shopping bags in their free hands. After saying their goodbyes, Altaira went to her room, and Asmo dropped by the common room to find all of his brothers glaring at him, nursing their hangovers and broken dreams.
"Well, it seems all of you have your feathers ruffled. I wonder why that could be?" He said smugly to them.
"Why are you the one bringing her home?" Satan growled, holding his head in one hand as he leaned against the arm of the sofa.
"I met her for breakfast to talk about last night, and then we went shopping," Asmo answered coolly, setting his bags down and folding his arms as he leaned against the frame of the entryway.
"Then why don't you tell us why none of our plans worked, but Diavolo's did?" Mammon demanded half-heartedly.
"Do you really want to know?" Asmo asked, a smirk playing on his lips.
"C'mon, just say it. What does Diavolo have that we don't?" Belphie griped.
"Is it money?"
"Power?"
"His looks?"
"A castle?"
"A butler?"
Asmo held his hand up to stop the berating questions before the eldest could snap at them all.
"You all do realize Altaira isn't that shallow, right?" The fifth born accused.
"Spill it, Asmo," Satan snapped.
"It's because he makes her feel wanted without pressuring her. You all are so obvious in the way you approach her. She knows exactly what you're up to the moment you start talking to her," Asmo answered honestly. "That handbag he sent her? She asked if she needed to return it the next day, and he said she was free to do what she wanted with it. He's been sending her gifts for ages now without the expectation of anything in return."
They all sat in silence, but Lucifer finally slapped his newspaper down and stared at Asmodeus.
"That's ridiculous. What else is it?" He asked accusingly.
Asmo sighed and picked up his bags, shrugging, "I mean, if you really must know..."
The other six brothers all watched him start to walk away.
Once he was out of sight but still within earshot, the Avatar of Lust said, "It's also because he's covered in gold, huge muscles, and has a big dick."
There was a stunned silence for a few moments before Mammon finally piped up, "I thought Asmo said she wasn't shallow?"
"He meant it's that, plus we put too much pressure on her," Beel replied.
The other five nodded and sighed, left to face another spring alone.
For now.

Peter Fox - Haus am See Official Music Video

I was born here and I walk the streets here
Know the faces, every house and every shop
I have to go, I know every pigeon here by name
Thumbs out, I'm waiting for a fancy woman with a fast car
The sun is blinding, everything flies by
And the world behind me is getting smaller
But the world in front of me was made for me, mh-mh
I know she's waiting and I'll pick her up
I've got the day on my side, I've got the wind at my back
A roadside women's choir singing for me
I lean back and look into the deep blue
Close your eyes and just walk straight ahead
And at the end of the street there is a house by the lake
Orange tree leaves lie on the path
I have 20 children, my wife is beautiful, mh
Everyone comes by, I never have to go outside (whoo)
(Seen in a dream, the house by the lake)
I'm looking for new land with unfamiliar roads
Strange faces and nobody knows my name
Win everything when playing with marked cards
Losing it all, God has a hard left hook
I dig up treasures in snow and sand (yikes)
And women drive me crazy
But at some point I'll be pursued by luck, mh-mh
And come back with both pockets full of gold
I invite the old birds and relatives (whoo)
And everyone starts crying with joy
We grill, the mums cook and we drink schnapps
And party every night for a week
And the moon shines bright on my lake house
Orange tree leaves lie on the path
I have 20 children, my wife is beautiful, mh
Everyone comes by, I never have to go outside (whoo)
(seen in a dream, the house by the lake, whou)
And at the end of the street there is a house by the lake
Orange tree leaves lie on the path
I have 20 children, my wife is beautiful, mh
Everyone comes by, I never have to go outside
I was born here, I will be buried here
I have deaf ears, a white beard and sit in the garden
My 100 grandchildren play cricket on the lawn
When I think about it, I can hardly wait

Happy 65th birthday to Derek William Dick, better known as Fish, frontman with the group Marillion.
Fish was born on April 25th 1958 in Dalkeith, first born son of Robert And Isabella Dick. His parents ran a garage and petrol station, where he worked as a pump attendant in his youth. He has a sister, Laura, 3 years his junior. He attended Kings Park Primary School and Dalkeith High School, in his childhood home town, just outside Edinburgh.. He left school; with grade A O-levels in History, Chemistry, English, Maths and Biology and grade B O-levels in German and English Literature.
In 1976 he started to work as Forester. In 1980 he quit and started a musical career. He joined a band called Blewitt and joined Marillion in 1981. After a year of intense gigging in the UK they got signed to EMI and released their debut album Script for a Jester’s Tear in 1983.
Their biggest hit singles were Kayleigh and Lavender in 1985 (from the number one album Misplaced Childhood and Incommunicado in 1987. Their other top 40 singles included Garden Party, Sugar Mice and Warm Wet Circles. In 1988, after touring their critically acclaimed fourth album Clutching at Straws he left the band to start a solo career
In 1987 he married Tamara, a model from Berlin who he had met during the recording of the album Misplaced Childhood and who appears in the music video of “Kayleigh”. Later she also appeared in the video of his solo single, A Gentlemen’s Excuse Me. They have a daughter, Tara Rowena Dick, born on January 1st, 1991. In 2001 Fish and Tamara separated.
Derek has also tried his hand at acting his first job was in Zorro, and he isn’t shy of having a bit of fun in his roles, playing “Derek Trout”, a record producer in the 1999 series A young person’s guide to becoming a rockstar.
The East Lothian-based singer has undergone spinal and shoulder surgery and suffered two bouts of potentially deadly sepsis.
In 2020 Derek released an album called Weltschmerz, and it gave Fish a surprise hit , but not a chart hit, his management say it would have been number two in the UK charts, well done big man! The album was entirely self-funded, marketed, created and distributed from his home in Scotland and because UK chart rules require distribution through official channels it was precluded from the official charts.
Fish also revealed in that 2020 he’s retiring from the music business — saying: “I don’t want to be 70 and singing Kayleigh on the chicken-in-a-basket circuit While I can’t see him doing the likes of Rewind, I would think he will still be releasing material given the success of Weltschmerz, it sold over 60, 000 copies.

BENIDORM FEST 2023 SONGS
Below I'll detail all 18 songs that'll compete to represent Spain in Eurovision 2023 next January at Benidorm. I'll also add some tidbits that they said in the presentation they did this morning, and they'll go in the order they used for said presentation as well cause it makes it easier for me.
Everything will be below the cut as I'll be linking the youtube videos to the songs (if there is one) and I don't want to take much unwanted space on your dashes. Here is the official spotify playlist btw, you'll be able to listen to all songs there if you prefer it.
I'll be completely impartial here, if you want more insight into my own reactions to each songs, you can search the tag 'benivivi23' in my blog <3
Finally, throughout these weeks I'll be posting the translated lyrics of the 18 songs here, in case you don't want to miss them I'll use that same tag 'benivivi23', to have everything organized (i'll also use the tags i'll use here tho so there shouldn't be any problems)
Anyways, let's start :)
AIRE BY SHARONNE
youtube
Sharonne (1976, Sabadell) is a drag queen known for winning the second season of Drag Race España. It's her second time entering the preselection for Eurovision, as she participated in the 2001 preselection within the group Trans-X. Right now she's one of the protagonists of the national tour of the drag show Gran Hotel de las Reinas.
Aire [Air] was composed by herself, Iván Torrent, and Alejandro Barroso. The song talks about liberating oneself, about taking a deep breath and continuing on. In the presentation, she said that the song was composed with the Benidorm Fest in mind, and that she was inspired by all the people that had reached out to her in social media talking about how seeing her and other drag queens thriving had helped them; it's her way of thanking them.
2. ARCADIA BY MEGARA
youtube
Megara (born in Madrid in 2015) is a self-proclaimed 'fuchsia rock' group with an aesthetic that combines dark undertones with cotton candy. They have a total of three albums and two other EPs.
Arcadia is a reference to the idea of Arcadia Felix, a Heaven on Earth. In the song, Megara makes Arcadia a virtual world where two girls fall in love and live their particular Arcadia. It was composed by Megara members Sara Jiménez Moral and Roberto La Lueta Ruiz, and their producer, Israel Dante Ramos. In the presentation, they talk about how their dream was getting into the Benidorm Fest so they've already achieved their dream, but they'll fight to go to Eurovision as well. They're also very honored to represent rock for the first time in Benidorm Fest.
3. DESDE QUE TÚ ESTÁS BY ALFRED GARCÍA
youtube
Alfred García (1997, El Prat de Llobregat) was first known as a contestant in Operación Triunfo 2017, where he ended up fourth [imo his best performance there was Maldita Dulzura]. Afterwards, he was selected to go to Eurovision 2018 with Amaia, where they sung Tu Canción. Since then, he has released 2 albums.
Desde Que Tú Estás [Since You Are Here] is a song dedicated to a person that made him rediscover and feel again things he hadn't felt in a while. The lyrics were composed by him and the music is by Raúl Gómez. In the presentation, he says that it is one of the best songs he has ever composed, and that he was inspired by love as something revolutionary.
4. EAEA BY BLANCA PALOMA
youtube
Blanca Paloma (1989, Elx) is the only returning artist to the Benidorm Fest, as she participated in the last edition with Secreto de Agua. Eaea is only her third single.
Eaea was composed by herself and José Pablo Polo, and it is a flamenco-sounding song made as a tribute to her roots and ancestors through lullabies, a sorrt of remembrance of where she came from to know where to go to. In the presentation, she said it is a tribute to her grandma, Carmen (the woman in the cover of the single).
5. FLAMENCO BY ARITZ AREN
youtube
Aritz Grau Sueira (1992, València), his stage name being Aritz Aren, is mainly known as a dancer, as his leap to fame was the dancing TV show Fama ¡A Bailar!, where he ended up as the runner up. Since then he has gained a large following on Tik Tok, and has worked in Madrid and Shanghai. In this last place, he coreographed the productions of Fame and World of Dance. Finally, he has taught dance classes at one of the best studios in Tokyo, Dance Studio.
Flamenco was composed by Carlos Marco, Frida Amundsen, Kaci Brown, Sam Gray, and Tonino Speciale. It is a song that fuses urban and latin sounds with autochtonous Spanish elements. In the presentation, he says that for him the song means the unrestraining oneself and letting yourself just feel at the beginning of a relationship. He is very happy singing it and he feels it matches quite well with him. He is also already working in the staging, and he told the interviewer that there'll be dancing in it.
6. INVIERNOS EN MARTE BY JOSÉ OTERO
youtube
José Otero (1990, Telde) became known after participating in The Voice México in 2019. Since then, he has published a number of singles and collaborations with artists like Karen Méndez.
Inviernos en Marte [Winters in Mars] is a power ballad composed by himself, Manu Chalud, Gabi Ore, Kenia Saiz, and Karen Méndez. It talks about impossible love and giving up once you realise you have lost someone you love. In the presentation he said it is a song composed to be sung live, and that the lyrics talk about vulnerability in oposition with lost. He was inspired by his father's death last year.
7. LA LOLA BY FAMOUS
youtube
Famous Oberogo (Amsterdam, 1999, raised in Bormujos) was first known as the winner of Operación Triunfo 2018 [I think we can all agree his best performance was Uptown Funk], where he participated in the preselection process for Eurovision 2019 and manifested his love for Eurovision and his wish to go someday, he even got to sing with Cesár Sampson. Since then, he has been preparing his first album with a few singles already out, and is currently playing Rafiki in the Spanish production of The Lion King, in Madrid.
La Lola [The Lola] was composed by Adrián Ghiardo, Andrés Sebastián Ramírez and Jorge de la Cruz, and talks about that feminine side everyone has, dubbed Lola in this song. In the presentation he says that Lola is fierce and fun, and that with this song he wants to start up a party and wants people to have a fun time and enjoy it. He also said that there's gonna be dancing in the staging as well as interesting 'vocal stuff'.
8. MI FAMILIA BY FUSA NOCTA
youtube
Miriam Nares Signes (1996, Gandia), best known as Fusa Nocta, rose to fame in 2019, when she was a viral contestant in the Spanish X Factor. She's been writing poetry since she was 15, and she only recently started doing music as well. She has participated in many festivals like Madcool, Puro Latino, or Arenal Sound.
Mi Familia [My Family] fuses different sounds to explore her own family, talking about both the prettiest and the darkest parts of it. She composed the song alongside Ignacio Moreno González and Carlos Padilla Linares. In the presentation she was overwhelmed as she didn't expect so many support after the song released, and revealed that the little girl who talks at the beginning and the end of the song is her baby cousin. She goes a bit more in depth about the song, saying it talks about the advice her grandmas have given her, and about how much family really means for her. She also wanted to include the crudest parts of family.
9. NOCHENTERA BY VICCO
youtube
Victoria Ribo (1996, Barcelona), best known as Vicco, has been playing the piano since she was 9, and shortly after she started writing her own music. She started her first band, Carpanta, with her own sisters, and when she was 19 she opened for Alejandro Sanz. She has since released an album, a few singles, and has composed for a multitude of artists, like Mireya Bravo, Flori, María Escarmiento, or Edurne.
Nochentera [a portmanteau of both 'noche entera' (full night, in the context it's more like 'all night'), and 'noche ochentera' (80's night)] talks about that moment when you like a person and want to do anything to see them, and so you throw up a party to be able to bump into them and dance together. It is a hymn to happiness and good vibes, it was made to feel like a party itself. In the presentation she said that a lot of stuff will be going on in stage, and that it will be lot's of fun. She also said that there's a lot of good songs in the preselection, so it's gonna be complicated to win.
10. NO NOS MOVERÁN BY MELER
youtube
Meler (formed in Madrid in 2020) is a band formed by Loren, Javi and Jonathan that started playing in the London underground and Madrid metro until the pandemic, when they were forced to look for alternate ways of doing music and created Meler. Now they have a couple singles out and have opened for Taburete.
No Nos Moverán [We Will Not Be Moved] is an energetic song made to dance, sing, and jump. It talks about that moment when you wish you could stop time to stay like that forever. It was composed by Jonathan Geraint Burt, Francisco Javier Pagalday González, Natalia Neva Martín, Oliver García Cerón, and José Héctor Portilla Rodríguez. In the presentation they said that they're working hard on the staging because it is very different to what they're used to do. They also said that the song was made with Eurovision and Europe in mind. Finally, they commented about how there's hints on how the staging will be in the music video.
(aparently you can only put ten videos per post so i'll link the rest of the videos in the titles of each song)
11. QUE ESCLATI TOT BY SIDERLAND
Siderland (formed in Barcelona in 2018) is a band formed by Uri Plana (voice and guitar), Albert Sort (bass), and Andreu Manyós (drums). They defined their sound as 'night pop', and since their debut they have played in multitude of venues in Barcelona.
Que Esclati Tot [Let Everything Explode, this might not be 100% accurate as I don't know Catalan] was composed by Siderland in collaboration with Roger Argemí. It has the typical sound of the band, and it tells the story of two lovers who react differently to a world that is collapsing; one accepts destiny and prepares themselves for whatever may happen, while the other refuses to do so and ends up alone. In the presentation they talked about how they tried to get into Benidorm Fest last year, and about how the staging is going to be explosive. This is the first song in Catalan in Benidorm Fest.
12. QUIERO ARDER BY AGONEY
Agoney Hernández (1995, Adeje) was first known as one of the contestants of Operación Triunfo 2017, ending up in 6th place [his best performance is undoubtably Eloise]. Since then he's released an album, and he's currently staring in the music contest Dúos Increíbles alongside legendary singer Ana Belén [they recently sang Eloise together!].
Quiero Arder [I Want to Burn] is an explosive song composed by Agoney himself where he gets to do complicated vocal work, as he's known for. In the presentation he threatened to burn Benidorm to the ground, and he said that he needed to made that song when he composed it, and that at first it wasn't gonna be the song he was going to present to the Benidorm Fest, but he got an impulse to do so and he went against the advice of the discography.
13. QUIERO Y DUELO BY KARMENTO
Carmen Toledo (Bogarra, Albacete), better known as Karmento, first started her musical career in 2012, when she moved to Malta. She made her first album there, and then came back to her homeland to release her second one. She self-defines herself as a 'singer-songwriter, sexologist, and lover of emotional communication', and her sound as 'neofolklore', combining the folklore of her land, La Mancha, with more modern sounds.
Quiero y Duelo [I Want and I Mourn] is a local expression of La Mancha that expresses the feeling of wanting something and battling with the pains and difficulties of trying to achieve it. She talks about her own quiero y duelo with music and also about all of those who had to abandon their roots in order to have a better life. In the presentation she said that last year watching Benidorm Fest she was impressed by the acts and wanted to send something to the contest this year because of it.
14. SAYONARA BY TWIN MELODY
Twin Melody is a group formed by the twin sisters Paula and Aitana Etxeberria (1999, Ordizia), known in all Spain thanks to their large following in Tik Tok (more than 18 million followers). They currently study Education in university and are regular guests in the late show El Hormiguero. This year they debuted in music with Ciao, a collab with Emma Muscat.
Sayonara was composed by Twin Melody, Jonathan Geraint Burt, and Natalia, and it is an empowering song about self love and leaving behind things that harm us or don't show our true selves. In the presentation they said that the song is in French, Spanish, English, and Basque, because those are the languages Twin Melody speak and they wanted to make the song as genuine as possible. They talked about how they are already preparing themselves for the staging and how they have filmed the music video. They want to combine song and dance.
15. TRACCIÓN BY RAKKY RIPPER
Raquel García Cabrerizo (1995, Granada), better known as Rakky Ripper, was one of the pioneers of Spanish hyperpop in 2019 alongside PUTOCHINOMARICÓN. Praised by artists such as Charli XCX or Dorian Electra, she was named one of the VOGUE Hot Talents 2021. She has published an EP and been in dozens of music festivals such as Sónar, ValleEléctrico, Covaleda, BIME, WarmUp, or SXSW.
Tracción [Traction] was composed by Rakky Ripper alongside Kickybombo, and it is a song with a sound that mixes hardcore, drum&bass, and techno. It talks about when you like someone but you are incapable of telling them so you just fantasize about them and the sexual tension and the fear of rejection just get entangled in all of that. In the presentation she says how Benidorm Fest is going to be a crucial point in her career, as well as a personal challenge cause he wants to give the best show ever.
16. TUKI BY SOFÍA MARTÍN
Sofía Martín (1996, Alicante) is a Hispano-German artist who uses her multicultural background to fuse different music styles and write in three languages. She has a few singles out of the dance and latin dance genres.
Tuki [aparently it's a Venezuelan word that means 'young punk', kinda like chavs in England or canis / chonis in Spain] was composed by Sofía, Freddy Rochow and Claudio Maselli, and it is a combination of Spanish and Latin rythms with European beats from dance and electronic music. It talks about being able to achieve your dreams no matter how or where you came from; tuki is that feeling when you finally achieve your goal after a long time working on it. In the presentation she says that she doesn't have any expectation in regards to Benidorm Fest, that she goes with the flow.
17. UFF! BY E'FEMME
E'FEMME (formed in 2019) is a girlband inspired by K-Pop groups and sounds, and formed by Sandy (1997, Pamplona), Melania (1998, Santa Cruz de Tenerife), BUBU (1999, Madrid), and Lottie (2000, Madrid). They want to combine all visual arts in their projects.
Uff! is a song composed by E'FEMME alongside Antonio Escobar and Barei. It is an empowering song about getting one's inside strength outside to stand your own ground. In the presentation they said that the song perfectly reflects their energy.
18. YO QUISIERA BY ALICE WONDER
Alicia Climent Barriuso (1998, Madrid), best known as Alice Wonder, is currently one of the most known artists in the Spanish indie scene. In 2017 she released her first EP, and has since released a full album and multiple collaborations with artists such as Javiera Mena.
Yo Quisiera [I Would Want] was composed by herself, and talks about the storm brewing inside someone who stops trying to understand the world and simply lives in it. Alice says that even if it seems like a pessimistic song, it is really positive, as it talks about having faith despite life's inconsistencies. In the presentation she talks about how the song was born from an improvisation in her mum's piano in a moment of shock. She also says that she really doesn't know why she's there, in the Benidorm Fest, and how all of it is really out of her comfort zone.

Ok so rant about Jane Seymour/Doe and why I love both of them to the depth of my soul
CLICK IF YOU WANT A HELLISHLY LONG POST
Jane S. and Jane D. are 2 very similar characters. (Besides the names at least) They are both very sad blondies named Jane who are featured in a single act musical about 6 dead people singing about their lives to win a competition. Wow thats specific
Well, as characters/people they are very similar. They are pushed aside and are considered "weird" in an already kinda out there group. Jane S is considered the only one her truly loved and as the one who didn't end on a bad note with Henrat VIII. Jane D is in Ocean's words; "AND SHE'S A FREAKY MONSTER!". Their also very emotionally driven without being directly moody and acting on impulse so to speak. Their temper and voice's are to be feared as kind as they can seem. Just look at the Queen's fight scene and the line in The Ballad of Jane Doe, "BECAUSE WHEN I GOT TO HOLD MY NEW-BORN SON, DIED!" and "And I'm asking, WHY LORD? Is this the way I DIE LORD?" are the examples that best show this. What makes them both so lovable in my opinion is that they are just so damn wholesome and tragic at the same time. Both of them can't BE in their groups. Doe isn't even allowed to know who she is! (More on that later). Jane S. is teased and mocked for what happened even more than the others! Their not allowed to just BE.
As for why I love them on their own as individual characters...
_____________________
JANE DOE/PENNY
Jane Doe is such a special character, she frustrated, she's stagnate. She's in the background. She isn't allowed to BE. Jane isn't in the opening and ending shot. Jane has to be introduced on her OWN. The Ballad of Jane Doe is what I personally like to call "emotion driven medium of beautiful madness". I classify any song that is just supposed to be just screaming, emotion, passion, and various flavors of sadness all thrown into an amazing song that drives the character depicted in the song to their edge as "emotion driven medium". Think "Meant To Be Yours". You just wanna scream these kind of songs out and act like a maniac. The Ballad Of Jane Doe is exactly that. She is so sad and mad and just so full of tired rage. "It's implied the high notes are her screams as the ride shuts down." Click on the official album video of the ballad and that's what the top comment says. "Now that everything is said and done, is there anyone to tell me who I am?". The am has a hint of desperation in it. Just please... just finally say who she is. Her catchphrase and absolute iconic line of "Time eats all his children in the end" is supposed to kind of hint (at least in my opinion) at what her parents were like, as they never showed up and probably just continued on without her. "Time eats all his children in the end" is as pointed out by many as a reference to Kronos, or the greek god of time. Of course my mythology and history nerd self can dump all my info on you, but I won't. To put it simply, Kronos ate all his children as in a prophecy one of his children will overthrow him. However he continued to have children like the lions and eventually it led to Zeus who freed his siblings from his stomach and overthrew him. As for why they reference Kronos, I think it's because in the myth he's this fallen god who's sickly and violent. He's the god of time, this never ending tail of life and death is never ending. The Ballad of Jane Doe is Jane's testimony. A testimony to her pain and impatience at this point, her frustration of staying eternally Jane Doe. A testimony that leads to her finally getting what she deserve. Friends/family. The New Birthday Song entirely captures what I mean. You have to remember, she's NOT Jane Doe. Jane Doe is a concept. Jane isn't Jane, she's PENNY! She's just so interesting is the sense of not knowing where to stand and never being allowed to BE. Oh and also her friendship with Constance and Ocean. (AAAAA THE SILLIES MAKE ME WANNA SQUEAL)
JANE SEYMOUR
"JANE SEYMOUR THE ONLY ONE HE TRULY LOVED!"
"RUDE-"
*ahem* sorry for that. Compared to Penny, Jane is sound. She is stable. She is stagnate, but she isn't trapped in a state of unmoving confusion. What she is a statue long crumpled and forgotten who by now is only known for being another pawn in the Henrat's game of life. (Yes that RTC reference was intended) However she's a stone carving that has "survived" over the years. Her song is about her love for the people around her, even if the feeling isn't mutual. She strives to make her mark. AND GOD DAMN SHE DOES CAUSE I BE SINGING NOTES I WILL NEVER HIT IN THE SHOWER! Her song is sort of a jab as like her cousins. DLYH is pretty obvi in it's joke, AYWD is a little more out there of a reference. Heart of Stone's little nit pick is that "Heart of Stone"'s double meaning, your either stone hearted and uncaring, or your love is set in stone and will always be there. Jane being the latter. She is the mom friend. Her love unbothered. She is an immovable object. And she will remain that way. You need to understand that she is someone dealing with her inner conflict of a love she was never loved by, and wanted to share love with others who only push her away farther. Her role in SIX is strange as like Cathy, she isn't striving for a win, but instead her victory is held elsewhere. She isn't against or with the competition. She just wants to BE. Just like Penny! She wants to hold her ground and shoot up for the stars from there. Jane is loving, caring, yet is filled with underlying sadness, tragedy, and a rage that can be ripped out and screamed. Jane Seymour is a figure to look up to. Alway seeing the positive without blocking out the ugly tears and train wreck. She compliments both Lina and Anne even after they roasted her. She doesn't care, she just wants to set herself down, stay, and tell her message. Her song has NOTHING to do with putting the others down in one way or another and simply directed towards her loved ones. Simply put that she is a mother figure who simply does not care, she is just here to bake cookies and share them with the others. Of course I'm not going to talk about her history with Anne as I don't find in relevant in this, but we can't forget that she can be very emotional in moments of "weakness" so to speak. She's flawed.
Their both flawed. Which makes them all the more human. Penny and Jane ARE human. Not some pawn, not some game, not some head without a body, not some concept. They are their own characters and deserve to be loved and hated. They are works of art in a medium I am eternally loving and appreciative of.

Whats happened since the funhouse break
~This is basically a what has happened since funhouses hiatus / breakup. if you clicked the COLORED parts its gifs to help explain or confirm the paragraph ~
Tumblr media
Fans claimed Adi's break from funhouse was inevitable. Especially for those who claimed to be paying more attention to there favorite pipsqueak.
Some fans say it started with the Positions music video. 'Shes being too exposed' / 'they are exploiting her' they tweeted and typed when the scandalous strip tease scene was seen in the music video. But others argued how could that be? Did they ever watch the buttons music video?
Others blame Edward. Her iconic yet intense relationship with English Born rapper Edward styles. It was an open secret that their relationship was passionate but destructive and fans were quick to blame him especially when things started to go sour.
But what all the fans did agree on was whatever started it - her excessive partying was what was truly harming her. Especially after the two broke up and she very publicly moved out of their shared LA home and purchasing a home in a gated community just off Beverly Hills.
The partying really got worse during the LALAPALOOZA tour funhouse was contracted to participate in. The tour was an insurance nightmare of drugs and booze where nearly everyone participated in in some form.
But Adi was a bit excessive with it. scaring fans when she went live, clearly drunk or his with half of her body out of the window of her hotel room. All while being spammed with comments to come inside and shut the window. She rolled her eyes but wound up dropping her phone 17 floors down and the live went black causing fans to call police to the hotel for a wellness check.
she was fine, drunkenly dancing in the middle of her kitchen. She got a lot of guff for scaring the fans but kept pretty quiet about it until she made a joke on a live about getting a new phone and sorry "she was being such a dumbs about it."
Soon after the tour ended she was caught having an argument with Shawn Mendes at Katya's house party. At the time the two were dating (not exclusively - he was messing with Camila and she was talking to. few other guys). However at the party she caught him with Camila in one of the bedrooms. After coming as Adi's guest to the party.
She got her revenge by making out with Korean/american musician Jay park in the pool where a fight between her and Shawn broke out when he called her a 'whore' for doing it.
A massive fight broke out and this is the instance Camila vs Adi really started, because after that day Shawn made it official with Camila to spite her.
But this is also where her and Jay really started talking and he started to make California his full-time home.
While they weren't officially dating they started recording together. Most notably... Crazy in love & Upgrade U.
While she was performing with Jay, her ex Edward came out with Superman, a song he claimed he wrote thinking about their relationship and it didn't help that both Superman and Crazy in love were nominated for Grammys that year. Or the fact that Jay couldn't attend the Grammys with her due to a family emergency and she took Kylie who was begging to go.
The Grammys was a hard time for her. For the first time, she didn't have a group to support her and of course Edward not only wins for Superman but also preforms it in a medley and brings a date that looks suspiciously like her.
Of course the camera keeps panning to her so she decides to pretend to enjoy the song and she puts up her middle finger to make sure they can't show her on live tv.
And despite her winning the grammy for Crazy in love, shes never been great at speeches plus she knew Edward was purposely being over affectionate with his new girl. She kept tripping over the words of her speech and eventually just holds up her award and says thank you. This becomes a meme.
She debated attending the afterparty hosted by Adele but goes and starts to have a good time, that is until she wanders deeper into the club and sees Edward heavily making out with the new girl. She knew he was doing it to be petty and in fact they make eye contact and its to much for her. With the combo of the embarrassing speech, edwards harsh words in his song and the fact hes openly making out with a random she downs about a bottle of vodka in about 10 minutes.
That night he was pulled over for reckless driving and was forced to preform a sobriety test in front of a group of fans. She surprised the cops when she passed perfectly but was forced to pay a $5000 fine for reckless driving.
Demi speaks out against Adi's drinking and Adi goes in on her during this time enough for her to take a break from instagram and instead throws herself into her relationship with Jay park in hope to distract herself from Edward.
With his help producing and occasionally rapping they make a few more hits. Me & U, SOS & Dangerous Woman she thought about writing one for Ed but to not even think about him she held off.
Her relationship with Jay was a good one, she was happy and they worked together amazingly but paper he ticked her boxes but there was just a lack of something there.
Besides, while he went with her to parties he often commented on her overdoing it given he really only drank. And while she experimented with drugs from time to time he wouldn't attend parties with her.
Continue to part 2

Tumblr media
Few rising rappers have made their mark on 2024 quite like rising star BossMan Dlow. Today, the Port Salerno, FL native announces his next mixtape, Mr Beat The Road, out this week. Spanning 17 tracks, the upcoming mixtape showcases the slippery flow and undeniable style that has him climbing charts, as he attacks Florida trap instrumentals with forceful finesse. The album is home to recent singles like the Billboard Hot 100-charting breakout hit "Get In With Me," and its trending follow-up "Mr Pot Scraper," plus recently-teased songs like "Muscle Up," performed last week on On The Radar. Featuring additional appearances from Rob49 and fellow Floridian Wizz Havinn, Mr Beat The Road arrives on March 15th via Alamo Records.
Mr Beat The Road continues a blazing hot streak for the South Florida rapper. After building a strong local fanbase in his region, Dlow broke through with "Get In With Me," the first viral rap smash of 2024 that sits at #53 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week. The song went viral after Dlow performed it on Jacksonville, Florida freestyle series "Kreepin Through The Streetz and continued to build grassroots momentum upon its official release, generating over 83k creates on TikTok, and trending on YouTube with a still image video. Weeks later, "Get In With Me" has grown from an internet hit to an IRL problem–it currently ranks in the top ten of Apple Music's All-Genre Chart, after peaking at #1 last month, and sits at #8 on Shazam's U.S. Top 200. During Super Bowl Weekend, players from the Kansas City Chiefs turned up to the song in the locker room after winning their second straight championship. The video for "Get In With Me" has more than 6.5 million views in just 2 weeks, and the song now averages over 10 million streams per week, with over 55 million all-platform streams to date.
BossMan Dlow followed "Get In With Me" with the equally fiery follow-up single "Mr Pot Scraper." First shared as a From The Block performance, "Mr Pot Scraper" went viral on socials, racking up over 2.5 million views in less than two weeks, and reaching the Top 5 of YouTube's Trending Chart for Music. "Mr Pot Scraper" racked up over 5 million streams in its first week of official release, and recently trended at #3 on YouTube with its official music video.
Born and raised in Port Salerno, a city on Florida's Atlantic coast north of West Palm Beach, Bossman Dlow emerged in late 2023 as one of the burgeoning Florida street scene's most exciting voices. Before "Get In With Me," the 25-year-old rapper finished 2023 on a high note with 2 Slippery, Dlow's first release for Alamo Records, which racked up over 2 million streams on Apple Music in its first week, reaching #15 on the platform's Hip-Hop Albums chart and #32 on the All-Genre Albums chart. The rising star has been generating over 20 million streams per week across his catalog.
With multiple hits on his hands and the world in his sights, Bossman Dlow is ready for stardom. Stay tuned for Mr Beat The Road, which is just the beginning.

Ships Have Sailed Team Up with Abby Posner for Rock Anthem ‘Get Loud’
Tumblr media
Los Angeles based alt-rock band, Ships Have Sailed teamed up with indie-folk artist, Abby Posner and released their foot-stomping single, ‘Get Loud’ this past fall. Ships Have Sailed is the brainchild of vocalist and guitarist Will Carpenter, generally configured as a duo with drummer, Art Andranikyan. The music they create together is uplifting and buoyant. The lyrics reveal a thoughtful and conscientious perspective. And over the years the sound has evolved into sincere indie rock with an unabashed pop structure. Carpenter describes the band’s moniker not as a pessimistic reference to the renowned idiom “that ship has sailed,” but instead a fresh, positive perspective on the unexpected outcomes of unforeseen circumstances. They’ve recorded and released a diverse collection of albums, EPs, and singles that consistently evoke an unrestrained cathartic desire to be heard and enjoyed. Either through crescendoing ballads or indie rock alacrity, their music always captures a uniform sense of sanguine sensibility. By combining an ardent work ethic with an impressive range, the band has maintained a well-earned buzz that has led to international tours, impressive industry showcases, and awards honoring their independence. During the height of the global pandemic, the band released their album ‘Ages’, most of which was co-produced by Dan Sadin (M, Joy Oladokun). It was a testament to the band’s progressive journey. As a follow up, the duo took matters into their own hands while patiently waiting for tours to start back up again when they decided to host a high-quality live virtual album concert for their close friends, fans and followers which resulted in a live album being born. Their single, ‘Silence’ was released in May of this year and had the honor of being featured on the Season 19 finale of Grey’s Anatomy. Longtime friend and fellow collaborator, Abby Posner has been twisting genres, and pushing the boundaries of folk, roots, electronic, and pop music since she can remember, making her “Genre Fluid”. As a CalArts music grad, Posner has composed and produced music for TV, film, and commercials including Hulu’s Maggie, The Fosters, This American Life, The Art of More, Last Tango in Halifax and more. Posner can be spotted in GLEE Season 4 playing banjo and guitar, and the Freeform show Famous In Love playing banjo. Posner has also scored music for multiple films including Across Land Across Sea, Through Their Eyes, Elizabeth Sees, and recently scored the award-winning documentary Lady Buds while playing and touring all over the US. Posner is an official Showcase Artist at Americana Fest 2023, and her music video “Quiet On Sunset” was recently featured on CMT. Ships Have Sailed partnered up with Posner to create a rock-heavy anthem that has captured the ears of many. On the surface, the track itself is a foot-stomping, slightly twangy, rootsey rock anthem that screams for attention and speaks to overcoming adversity and standing up for everything the band believes in. Beneath the obvious, however, there’s always a deeper story which all began when the U.S. Supreme Court made the controversial and unprecedented decision to overturn Roe vs. Wade. Carpenter gives us the gritty details on how the idea initially came to be, “My first instinct upon hearing of the decision was to be angry, so I sat with that for a moment, and then reflected on all the times throughout history when the powers that be attempt to strip away the rights of many to appease the few. A thought popped into my head: “ok, so it’s about to get loud”. I wanted to bring a different perspective into the writing process, so I immediately reached out to a dear friend of mine, Abby Posner, who is an incredibly talented artist and producer and who I felt would bring an important lens to the song. I explained the idea and where it came from and she jumped in immediately.” Posner chimes in on the track, “We wrote this song during a very raw and vulnerable time, and we were feeling angry, and frustrated. We wanted to write a song that embodied all of these complex emotions. A song that felt like a movement. When you take rights away from human beings…it gets loud, and I hope this song motivates people to get even louder.” Since the release of ‘Get Loud’, the duo has not only captured the attention of fans and followers across the globe, but to their joyous surprise, it also captured the ears of the USA Songwriting Competition. ‘Get Loud’ won the grand prize the world’s leading international songwriting competition. While the track continues to gain momentum, it has received support from major publications like Billboard Argentina, Wonderland Magazine, Grimy Goods and more.
