She heard the brush of clothes as he rearranged his limbs—probably in indignation—then, in a tone that screamed upturned-chin, said: "Fair enough. Go on then, love, tell us what you're wearing."

She snorted at that. "How do you even know how to ask that?"

"Darling, you underestimate me."

A hum. "That much is apparently true."

He was chuckling too but the resonant twang of his voice denoted the underlying motive. "But really, what’re you wearing?"

"James Potter, if you called just to get off on my voice, I’m hanging up." She very nearly did, pulling the handset away from her ear and going to slam it back on the receiver knowing he'd get an earful of plastic and have to pay to call again.

But he cried, voice all crackly through the distance, "Wait, wait!" and her ear was back against the receiver, turning red then white with the pressure as he gravelled: "I can be over in five minutes. Just promise you won't be wearing anything when I get there."

She was quick to warn him off—but her heart wasn't in it—with a lousy, somewhat nasal, "Petunia will be back soon."

She could practically hear his smirk through the phone. "I can be quick."

I feel u... I want to love the show so bad and I do think the kids are awesome in their roles but unfortunately the writing and execution are just not quite what they could be

yeahhh exactly :’( the writing is like, bafflingly mid especially when you have such good material to pull from??? there’s still moments of the same humor and fun atmosphere that the book had (like annabeth and grover splashing water on percy in the fountain and the scene where they first meet ares, those were cute hehe) but most of the time it’s just taking itself way too seriously and the vibes aren’t there

i understand needing to streamline to fit it into a tv show, and not wanting to make it exactly a 1 to 1 recreation, but none of the adaptational changes have felt like they fulfilled that purpose to me, they’re just Changes. they’re pointless at best and harmful at worst (occasionally just as good, like percy choosing to sacrifice himself on the arch, but i can’t think of any that i’d say were Better). like, why was percy not the one to see the three fates, when that’s like Really Important for him to see? why give him riptide right away? why have all of annabeth’s cute character moments that give her depth been flattened out, like being scared of spiders and desperate for a quest and embarrassed to go on the tunnel of love? why is grover basically useless?? and i could keep going like idk….. if you don’t compare it too hard to the original and just watch it as a kids fantasy show, it’s fine and enjoyable— like i’m not at all saying its BAD as a show and i’m really glad so many people like it— but it was hyped up for years as a faithful adaptation and i can’t help but be disappointed u__u

okay this is something i’ve only ever seen one other person discuss on here so i wanna know your opinion on this: so black suit matt wears the covering over the top half of his face and that is by no means see through, so why didn’t ANYONE suspect something was up with that?? like do you think people think this dudes just showing off or that maybe he can see through it? it’s a thought that has plagued my mind many a time and i would love your thoughts on it!

I've often wondered that myself. Like he shows up with his eyes literally covered, you'd think people would eventually begin to suspect the masked man is actually blind and somehow has some way of fighting really well without his eyesight even if they don't have a way to explain it. Not to mention, Matt's favorite move is literally turning off the lights. ALL. THE. TIME. I feel like it's not that farfetched to think he can't actually see but can still fight considering the literal Avengers are part of the timeline here. People in the city know about Thor, a literal God, and there was an alien invasion in the not too distant past. It's not so crazy to think the Devil of Hell's Kitchen is a blind man with some sort of unexplainable abilities, too.

Though it's possible people might assume he can see through it. I mean, we know people often tend to think he looks ridiculous in the black suit with that mask on. So they probably assume it's something see through and just there to hide his identity because he fights so well they don't question it. And I suppose in the moment while getting your ass beat you wouldn't be paying close enough attention to see just how thick the material might actually be. Though I've often wondered why someone like Fisk doesn't stop to think about that... He hears all these stories about the masked man from his goons, sees things in the news, you'd think he'd eventually start piecing things together sooner...

That's a really good question though! Definitely had me thinking about it more myself. I guess people just see what they want to, and it seems too farfetched for them to believe the ninja-like vigilante could actually be blind and that's why he can cover his face like that and still fight so well.

She melted into him like butter in the sun and he almost lost his head again before he tore his lips away, pressing his forehead to hers and urging, "Lily."

More of an offer than an order but she followed as such. She might have saluted. He might have rolled his eyes. As it turns out, he didn't have much of a plan beyond against the wall just beyond the door. The hallway was too exposed, penchant for house elves tottering about dusting, buffing, polishing, you get the gist. But seventeen years in a house apparently weren't enough when faced with the whimpers Lily Evans would make when James's calloused fingers found their way under her clothes, few though there were.

"Where can we...?" Her voice was an octave higher than usual and it set his brain on a slant. Set his world on a slant.

No matter how hard he tried to think he could only push her further into the wall which would send her fingernails digging into his scalp and coax a whine from her throat and set his blood alight. “Lily.” He was struck dumb. A scratched record stuck on a loop. Lily, Lily, Lily. Honestly, it didn’t sound too bad.

But it had her scoffing and pushing him from her and her from the wall. “Come on.”

The dread that had temporarily plunged him neck-deep in icy waters drained instantly away and he was grinning—a wanton lopsided thing—and hurrying after her. The door squeaked terribly. They winced. But the room—the drawing room, how had he not thought of that?—was empty and the moon through the high mullioned windows was bright and blue and she was smiling at him and backing away and had he less control over himself he would have chased her down and torn the clothes from her body. But he didn’t. He trotted dotingly, achingly, like a love-sick puppy, after her while she giggled and by the time he reached her, she was all but chortling and he had to quiet her with a press of lips and whisper: “Shh. There are people in the other room.”

She smacked his shoulder then wrapped her arms around his neck, elbow to elbow, and pulled him in and he didn’t get another word in for a good long while.
