Der habituelle Geburtstagsfilm für Liza, Martin Scorseses unverständlicherweise vielignoriertes musikalisches Bebopsaxophonisten-und-Unterhaltungssängerinnen-passen-einfach-nicht-zueinander-(aber wahrscheinlich liegt es nur daran, daß er so unerträglich ist)-Liebesdrama funktioniert als Motivation, mein Bisher-ungesehene-Scorsese-Filme-Projekt noch etwas voranzutreiben wesentlich besser, als der bisher gesehene zuvor ungesehene.

ARKANSAS (2020) Grade: C

Had some cool scenes. The Vince Vaughan story line half was interesting. I didn't care for the Liam Hemsworth story line much. Ending was average. Got a little bumpy with the flashbacks.

Song Review(s): Bobby Weir & Wolf Bros featuring the Wolfpack - “Loose Lucy,” “When I Paint My Masterpiece,” “Only a River” and “Silvio” -> “Tequila” -> “Silvio” (Live, Dec. 12, 2023)

Whether purposeful or coincidental, Bob Weir provided cheapskates like Sound Bites with a primer on the full range Wolf Bros music with the sampler from the group’s Dec. 12 show in New York State.

From the solo-acoustic “Loose Lucy” to the segue of “Silvio” -> “Tequila” -> “Silvio,” performed by the Bros plus the Wolfpack strings and horns - 10 musicians in all - the giveaway was generous in both songs and substance.

“Lucy” was choppy; “Silvio” -> “Tequila” -> “Silvio” was smooth. The former seemed on-the-fly; the latter well-rehearsed, nearly perfect save for some mumbled words.

The audience was part of the band, too, handling “Loose Lucy”’s thank you …refrain and singing the one, titular, lyric in “Tequila.”

Weir, still on acoustic guitar, played with bassist Don Was and drummer Jay Lane on “When I Paint My Masterpiece,” joining “Silvio” as the teaser’s other Bob Dylan cover, while keyboardist Jeff Chimenti and pedal steeler Barry Sless added countrified color to “Only a River,” the lone Weir solo cut in the gratis chunk.

The take away? More is generally more where Bobby Weir & Wolf Bros featuring the Wolfpack are concerned.

what kinda music would the eds like?

you'll be shocked to learn that all their tastes are based on my own.

to me eddy is a big Music Enjoyer™ and i think he goes through phases, but his overall taste is expansive. he's is obviously into disco - abba, sylvester, bee gees, EWF, kool and the gang, barry white. i see him enjoying old funk/soul/r&b - bootsy collins, the gap band, chaka khan, curtis mayfield, patrice rushen. pop/country oldies - nancy sinatra, dusty springfield, patsy cline, brenda lee, peggy lee, loretta lynn. 40s, 50s & 60s girl groups cuz that's what his mom likes- andrews sisters, mcguire sisters, ronettes, marvelettes, etc. 80s dance - the egyptian lover, pretty tony, debbie deb, newcleus, loose ends, madonna. 90s house and dance - crystal waters, la bouche, lisa stansfield, robin s, real mccoy. other 90s pop - aaliyah, britney, sugar ray, backstreet boys, nsync, aqua, smash mouth ace of base, TLC, destiny's child. a touch of ska with sublime, 311. other random stuff - fatboy slim, louis prima, azalea banks, limp bikit, shaggy, dua lipa (gay), the prodigy. there's so much more honestly but basically anything i like is what eddy likes 😳 he's like the catch all haha.

edd also loves music but i tend to think of stuff that reminds me of him vs. what he would actually listen to. crystal castles to me is edd music because i'm gay and emo but i don't think he'd really listen to them outside of the gothedd au that exists only in my head lmao. things i do think he'd listen to include kraftwerk, aphex twin, boards of canada, daft punk, massive attack, agnes obel, avalanches, burial. most of which he discovers through eddy of course. some outliers might be tool, muse, enya, anita baker (don't ask ok). there's other stuff i'm sure but that's probably enough for now.

ed is harder for me to nail down cuz i see him as mostly a rock/metal fan and even though i grew up listening to it, i've never gone super deep into the genre tbh. his favorite bands are primus and death grips. others would be alice in chains, nirvana, SOAD, melvins, butthole surfers, smashing pumpkins, black sabbath, metallica, rob zombie/white zombie. he might be into other 80s metal, black metal, sludge metal. none of which are anything i listen to so i couldn't tell ya what artists.

Day six of Skystar week, I’m almost done! Yay! Today’s prompt is Take Off, the song is “Let Me Be Your Wings” by Barry Manilow (it’s in Don Bluth’s Thumbelina soundtrack).

Ficlit: Fly Me To The Moon

Skyfire took a running start and literally leaped into the sky, deciding to stay in his robot form for this pleasure flight. He had barely gained any altitude at all when he suddenly felt a considerable weight settle about his lower torso. Looking down, he was greeted by the comical sight of his Conjunx Endura playfully wrapping his arms and legs about him in a mid-air tackle, and smiling like an over ambitious Earth feline who had caught a particularly big canary.

“Hi love.” The Seeker chirped.

“Hi love yourself! Starscream what in the galaxy has gotten into you?” Skyfire had no trouble with his mate’s light frame, it was more the awkward way he was clinging to him. “Let go of me, you goof.”

“No.” The ex-Prince said primly “I want to go for a flight with you.”

Skyfire exvented in mild exasperation. “Of course you can come along, but use your own wings darn it. You’re too old for this nonsense.”

“Hmmm, nah. Carry me.” The former Air Commander wiggled mischievously, causing his husband to nearly drop them both from what was now a considerable height.

“Easy does it! You’ll make us fall, oh for Primus sake, I’m bonded to such a spoiled brat.” He smirked “Not even our nephew or daughter act like this.”

“Oh don’t worry,” Starscream snickered as he readjusted himself into a bridal carry, much easier to manage and far more comfortable for them both “Considering they’re being raised with me and my brothers involved, they’ll learn the art of conquest through sheer willpower in no time.”

“Is that what you call it? And here I thought you were just being obnoxious.” Skyfire did a loop-dee-loop to make his lover laugh.

“And this is why I bonded with a mech big enough to carry me.” Starscream wrapped his arms around Skyfire’s neck and rapid fire kissed him all over his faceplates.

Chuckling and then nuzzling his smaller mates helm, Skyfire hummed contentedly “Well who am I to complain?”

Happy Ending to this movie but, to my notion, everything else was a bunch of crap!! They put Sybil Danning in this movie in one little shot just showing her for about 2 seconds wearing a bikini.
