I don’t buy that the entire crew of Voyager would continue on in Starfleet after reaching earth, I think at least half of them quit.

#In my mind these people definitely stay: Janeway / Tom / Harry #I think B'Elanna / Seven / and Chakotay are toss ups but in my mind B'Elanna and Seven eventually do their own thing soon after #B'Elanna would be like 'Hey Seven guess who quit Starfleet again!' and Seven would be added as a party member #I truly do believe in the freelance engineer/explorer B'Elanna with very special guests lifestyle #but that's also bc I'm simply not a B'Elanna/Tom Paris shipper v_v in my canon they are just co-parents. And also Tom gets with Harry #but then Harry breaks up with him too and it's devastating for a while but Tom finds someone eventually and then Tom enters every room #with B&H in it like 'Oh look out babe - I think that's my ex!' (very loudly as a joke) and they're all pals #I don't know Chakotay well enough to determine what he'd do but I most often picture him like:#'No. Fuck that. I like Voyager's crew but Starfleet can kick rocks.' and as soon as he's pardoned for whatever crimes he just fucks off to #live a quiet life somewhere...just doing his own thing....which is totally not being a political rebel :) definitely not breaking laws :)#Tuvok semi-retires for a time to stay at home with his family and then teach but he has a long life to live and I think he'd probably #still be very connected to starfleet v_v #Tuvok says he's going to retire 'for a time' and Janeway's like 'you better not mean 60 years like the first time.'#I know EMH is doing shit but I can't help but imagine B'Elanna keeping him on her like one of those travel companion fairy characters...#not for any character-driven reason but bc it's funny #B'Elanna Seven and the EMH going on adventures...totally not helping Chakotay do anything against very dumb laws #Tom Paris & B'Elanna Torres co-parenting but not being together works well for me because of both their childhood issues #B'Elanna not being able to be with Tom as a romantic partner but NEVER abandoning their daughter & Tom being like a single father but also #a good dad to Miral which he never thought he'd get a chance to be - I just like it v_v #Oh also about the Harry breaking up wtih him thing - I think Harry definitely had a crush on Tom on Voyager but after returning to earth #they slowly realize they work better as friends and with more....options...sometimes you feel less romantically into someone #Harry: What can I say? (But really, thank you, this song is so good!)

It's WILD that B'Elanna just... realizes that what happened in “Scientific Method” was alien influence and just goes along with it!! WILD!! Like from a closeted B'Elanna perspective it's truly heartbreaking (remember that she said “I love you” to Tom believing it was her last dying breath). But even if she isn't closeted? Still crazy.

I realize all of these tropes—the alien sex pollen (in “Scientific Method” and “Blood Fever”), the love declaration at the brink of death, the sex dreams planted by aliens—are all designed to wear B'Elanna's defenses down because she's so closed off. But to me that these tropes are so prevalent in B'Elanna's storylines only highlights how messed up it is that Voyager assumes that extreme distress and/or lack of control over her own actions would somehow reveal B'Elanna's true (heterosexual) desires rather than make her act on misguided impulses to try and regain some control of the situation. I don't know, the more I think about it the more this pattern stands out to me.

So. @purlturtle tagged me in a thing and now we all get to suffer for it. ;3

RULES: post the names of the files in your WIP folder, regardless of how non-descriptive or ridiculous. let people send you an ask with the title that most intrigues them, and then post a little snippet or tell them something about it! Tag as many people as you have WIPs.

Okay, to start with: I do not have a WIP folder. My Google Docs is a conglomerate of utter disorganization that somehow manages to still function as a repository of writing. Sort of.

Many of these are just snippets that are more or less a ghost of an idea, or that probably deserve their rest in the quiet soil of the cemetery of fleeting ideas. Others are determined to haunt me until I give them some sort of manifestation, or finish shaping their forms. Who knows, maybe y'all will turn one into the other?

I tried to denote different docs that belong to the same general work/universe via asterisks, at first, but at some point its accuracy is questionable. :P

(Okay, there's more, but I have to come to some kind of stopping point. B'Elanna is a little thin on the ground in this episode, and since I was too lazy to make my own screencaps I didn't have much to work with (not to imply that I'm not grateful for the hard work & dedication of the Trekcore team!). Is is just me, or does Roxann Dawson look almost as uncomfortable in this Resort scene (and the bathing suit) as she did in that awful & sexist 'Babes of Sci-Fi' FHM? photoshoot back in the day? When she enters the scene, she's mostly hidden by Neelix then, when he moved, she protects her groin and belly with her snorkle & goggles. As soon as the camera moves in for a closeup, she covers her breast with her arm. Finally, she only smiled when her 'pool boy' covers her shoulders with a towel. And what's with that unnecessary little dip? Is she trying to sneak out of camera range? And kudos to the director for wedging in a shot of the Beach Babes.

Screw this bullshit. I like the pic of B'Elanna at the engineering station on the bridge better.

This episode could be argued to be a vehicle to show Kes coming into her own power & authority - sure wasisface takes over her mind & body, but she beats him back & wins back her autonomy. Compare that to the subplot of the Resort: wedged in because it was 'time' to show a new Holodeck programme and because B^2 couldn't resist the opportunity to show attractive women in skimpy clothing.

Pfffththth. This us why I was originally just going to slap up crappy collages and not comment on the episodes.

Summary: B’Elanna has told you how she loves banana pancakes. When you find out that she feels a little homesick so you decided to make her some.

You sighed in content as you turned around in B'Elanna’s arms. You had just woken up and normally you were the first one to wake up but not this time.

B’Elanna smiled before kissing your forehead. “Morning.”

“Morning.” You smiled and leaned forward, capturing her lips in a sweet kiss.

You knew something was going on, you knew her long enough to tell when something was bothering her. With anyone else she would act like nothing was wrong but with you she could be herself, she knew that with you she didn’t have to hide how she felt.

You sat up. “What’s wrong babe?” But you already had a feeling what was wrong. The look on her face you’ve seen it on the other members of the crew, you even had that look on your face a few times.

B’Elanna sat up as well, she looked away from you. “I just feel a little homesick, but I’ll be fine.”

“Sweetheart,” You wrap your arms around her, pulling her into you. “There’s nothing wrong with feeling a little homesick.”

She wraps her arms around you, snuggling into your embrace. “I know but my home now is with you.”

You kissed the top of her head. “And my home is with you too but it’s okay to miss being with your family, even if you didn’t always get along with them.”

A few minutes later the two of you began to get ready, before you both left the quarters you two shared you and B’Elanna shared a loving kiss. You watched as she left to go to engineering, as you watched her leave you were already coming up with a plan to help your girlfriend feel better.

You walked into the mess hall looking for Neelix. Once you saw him you quickly walked over to him. “Neelix can I ask you something?”

He looked up at you, he smiled. “Anything.” He brought you over to an empty table so you could sit down. “What’s on your mind?”

You cleared your throat. “I wanted to do something for B’Elanna and I have an idea but I was wondering if it would be okay if I used your kitchen.”

“Of course!” His smile widened. “When do you think you’ll need it?”

“Not until later tonight after dinner.” You smiled and stood up. “Thanks Neelix.” You gave him a quick hug before leaving the mess hall to get back to work.

Later that night you and B’Elanna were walking around Voyager, hand in hand. Once you got to the mess hall you brought your girlfriend inside.

She looked at you with a raised eyebrow. “(Y/N) why are we in the mess hall?”

You chuckled before bringing her over to a table, you pulled out a chair. “My lady.”

B’Elanna couldn’t help but chuckle as she sat down. You kissed her temple before quickly going into the kitchen. She watched what you were doing, trying to figure what you were planning.

As soon as you were done you smiled and looked up at her. “No peeking.”

You waited for her to turn around and for her eyes to be closed. Once her eyes were closed you walked over with two plates. You set one in front of B’Elanna before sitting across from her.

“Okay open your eyes.”

She opened her eyes and what she saw in front of her brought tears to her eyes. She looked up at you to find you smiling at her. “Baby...”

“I remember you telling me how much you loved banana pancakes when you were growing up.” You reached across the table to take her hand in yours. “I wanted to make you some, I wanted to try and cheer you up.” You bit your lip.

B’Elanna didn’t say anything, she just stood up and went over to you. She gently pulled you up and pulled you into a kiss. “You’re amazing.” She smiled.

You blushed. “Not as amazing as you.” You wrapped your arms around her neck. “We should eat these pancakes before they get cold.”

She gave you another kiss. “I love you.”

“I love you too baby.”

How I feel about this characterHe’s my husband actually. There’s one (1) man I’d go straight for but he’s also gay it’s FINE. He’s literally the biggest gifted kid mood ™ and has a great sense of humor and is a certified babe and puts up with so much shit and is still so reliable and genuine and kind-hearted. Is he a Taurus? Possibly.

All the people I ship romantically with this characterI mean he and Tom Paris are my ride or die OTP ngl, and the trio of harry/tom/b'elanna in any combination are rly good. I’ve read some good harry/seven fic and it’s #valid. I have trouble getting into anyone/seven because she’s not, like, ready to be dating adults, but I’m confident Harry of all people would do right by her.

My non-romantic OTP for this characterI mean he called Janeway “mom” once and she thinks of him as her own. Also, Harry and B'Elanna are so cute together, dare I say mlm/wlw solidarity

My unpopular opinion about this characterHarry is honestly the most ready to throw down of all the men on the main cast (third overall, after Torres and Janeway ofc). He’s not nearly the goody two shoes he’s made out to be; he’s kind and loving and lighthearted, but he’s also made of sterner stuff than a lot of people think. His innocence isn’t ignorance or naivete, but a conscious choice (motivated by Federation values mind you) to think the best of people, no matter what.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.All I want is for him to get a romance arc with another guy, even just for a single episode. Also obviously a promotion. His middle initials stand for “Should be a Lieutenant”

my favoritie male character: Vic Fontaine. I mean I know he wasn’t considered a main character but Vic to me is kind of the essence of DS9. How the show was about people and stories and life. Vic was part of the crew in my mind and I loved him. I’m also a Quark gal.

my favorite female character: Kira Nerys is my favorite character of all time of all iterations of Star Trek. I could go on and on about the 9 million ways I’m in love with her but I’ll stick with the fact that she was incredibly complex, very flawed and tainted by her past, racist even to begin with but forced to address those parts of herself. She grew so much from baby angry Nerys.

my otp: Kira and Odo were soulmates and you will never tell me otherwise. I will fight you. My bromance otp, even though you didn’t ask - is Miles/Julian.

my notp: Worf/Jadzia. I just don’t see it. First of all, why was Worf getting all the babes?

my other ships: Don’t judge me because it’s awful - Dukat/Kira. Like I hate it / it’s gross and he was horrible to her and he’s a horrible person and I hate him and ugh. But then also, he really was obsessed with Kira and I felt like she was the only one who could get through to him. It was a weird dynamic… I don’t want to talk about it.

my least favorite character: Worf. I know, I just didn’t like the character in any of the series. I don’t care for klingons really at all (except for they babe B'Elanna obvi)

my favorite season/episode: My favorite episode ever is Badda Bing Badda Bang because it was fucking epic. Like even if you don’t know the show or have no knowledge - see this episode as a standalone. Also adore Necessary Evil because like it was so amazing and it ended so perfectly.

who i would date off the show: Nerys again. Hands down, pants down as it very much were. I love her and find her incredibly attractive.
