Fun Fact
BuzzFeed published a report claiming that Tumblr was utilized as a distribution channel for Russian agents to influence American voting habits during the 2016 presidential election in Feb 2018.
Making my own post bc I feel like it's sort of off topic but genuinely one of my own points for "B'Elanna/Tom could've been good if the writing was better" has always been the fact that they give Tom a hobby where he fiddles with vintage car engines on the holodeck and I'm like WHY is this something him and B'Elanna never bond over? She's literally an engineer. Let them bond over shared hobbies
Reposting this one in honor of this auspicious day!

“Being pregnant doesn't make me an invalid.”
“No, it doesn't. But there's a toxic atmosphere down there and you're breathing for two.”
“All right, you win. But if we have another baby, you carry it, and I'll go on the away missions.”
“It's a deal.”
You're taking prompts? Ooh, I'd absolutely love something with Tom & B'Elanna. “ why does it always have to be a fight with you? ” [I'm thinking during "Drive" but really any time is good]
I’m glad any time is good, @marymoss1971, because I’m not sure if this is what you had in mind, but …

Targ if by Sea
Miral’s toddler hands are like tiny starfish — grasping, reaching for the stuffed animal Tom holds.
B’Elanna grins.
“Why does she always choose mine?” Tom tries to keep the whine out of his voice, not wanting to act like a baby around their … baby. “It’s not a fair fight.”
There’s a chuckle from B’Elanna, the affectionate kind, the kind where she would have called him a flyboy back on Voyager. “Why does it always have to be a fight with you? Why not just admit she prefers yours to mine?”
And B’Elanna turns, places Toby the Targ on a high shelf — out of reach for tiny starfish — as Tom hands over Sally the Seahorse, proof of his latest loss after he and B’Elanna have each offered Miral one of their own childhood toys.
“It’s not always a fight.” Tom winces as Miral’s teeth meet Sally the Seahorse’s dorsal fin. “But next time I’m going to win.”

Summary: While planning for an important diplomatic summit, Janeway is struck with the Arethian flu and forced to go to Sickbay. She doesn't stay for long.
A/N: A Parks and Rec based sickfic! Inspired by the Doctor’s mention of a flu season aboard Voyager...
Tom: six years ago I was just a guy who had a crush on a girl. I had to do the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do, which is to…wait. Don’t get me wrong I flirted with her. B’elanna I can admit to all our friends and family that I do know how send flight plans to you via the padding system. Didn’t need your technical help that many times. And uh… remember when you taught me how to use a bat’leth?
B’elanna: yeah?
Tom: yeah I learn the bat’leth back in high school. For a really long time that’s all I had, little moments, with a girl who saw me as an acquaintance. And, a lot of people thought I was crazy to wait for this long for a date with a girl I worked with. But even then I knew that I was waiting for my wife.
“You can't tell me you're not interested in me.”
“You're right. I can't.”
“Then don't push me away.”
“Oh, believe me, I'd like to, but I know this isn't really you. You've made it clear that you're not interested, and I have to accept that's how you feel, even now.”
“No. No, it isn't. I was, I was just afraid to admit it. You see, I've wanted this for so long… Just let it happen.”
….
“I hope someday you'll say that to me and mean it.”
Drive is such a bad episode in execution but I think it could've worked much better if it both
a) Got rid of the part where Tom and B'Elanna get married at the end
b) Took place a season or 2 earlier
Like, I think Tom and B'Elanna's relationship would work much better if Drive took place as a mid-s5 episode. The first half of season 5 is pretty rough on Tom and B'Elanna for both their relationship and for them as individuals (Night, Extreme Risk, Nothing Human, the combined time being separated Tom experiences between Thirty Days and Gravity), so Drive can be this near breaking point for them, but they come away from this incident with a better understanding on communicating with and knowing how to treat each other.
And then their relationship can strengthen from there over the course of the rest of season 5 and all of season 6, and they can still get married in an unrelated plot in early season 7.
