But she promised her pops she'd at least try to have some enjoyment out here. So it's when another stranger passes by, she waves them down. When there's some attention given, she gestures to the empty seat across from her, an othello board between the two. Would they indulge her in a game? Or would they too, write her off for looking foreign?

Only a glance, but it had been enough to catch someone’s attention. This time, Naoto’s clearly being stared at, being waved at. Her eyes dart to the board, then back at the other. She’d point to herself, ask Me? but she doesn’t need to look around to know how quiet the area is, how she’s the only person around save for the young woman.

So Naoto approaches, noting the empty seat. A game of Othello? A unique request, especially for a stranger, but this is different from fortune tellers setting up shop on the side of the road and beckoning curious onlookers to come closer.

Or, she thinks it is. Maybe.

She sits down, then stiffly straightens her back, debating on her next course of action. Set up the board, pick a color, make small talk.

“I... suppose you must be rather bored, to invite a stranger for a game of Othello.” She pauses, the buzzing cicadas filling in the gap. “I, err, understand. There isn’t much to do here.” Effortless socializing comes with practice, she reminds herself. Putting it into practice is the difficult part.

Has Red Alert ever had a chill day in his lifetime?

At some points in redalerts life, he had less anxious days, not entirely chill, but if you met him back then, he wouldn't come off as the insane bot he dose now, maybe a little anxious and superstitious, but other than that, he was pretty sane. But of course this was pre-war and pre-losing Inferno, pre-getting stranded on earth with no contact with Cybertron and pre-losing access to most of his static treatment.

Redalert struggles with a static condition; his system creates static, which can disrupt his processor and other systems around his frame, most often causing delusions, anxiety, hallucinations,emotional instability, twitching, involuntary movement, and other often debilitating effects. The horn-like structures on his head are actually modifications, added to help with his condition and dissipate static. For most bots suffering from this condition, the modifications would be enough, but Red has a more extreme variant. Though the static dissipators help prevent any permanent damage the static might cause Red, they do not help him much with the mental effects. Before the war, Redalert would consume specially processed energon that didn’t produce as much static in his system, which, combined with his modifications, allowed him to live a relatively normal life. Even getting a pretty decent job with his engineering skills, especially when it comes to designing and setting up security systems, and his strong work ethic, Red was pretty successful before the war, all things considered.

the increased stress of the current circumstances making many of his coping skills null, and having to consume normal energon since the stranded earth crew does not have access to the tools required to produce the specialty energon he'd consume on Cybertron. Redalert is not having a fun time, especially during the start of the plot.

I'm sorry. I've been trying to get a lot done, but I haven't been able to balance it as well as I usually would due to irl unforeseen circumstances.

Dedicating the time I do want to spend on Tentative Devotee and other personal projects is not part of the reasonable decisions I can make.

I do intend to pick up the pace by the end of March and the beginning of April. But I cannot promise anything concrete.

Hiii, I dunno if you can even share this with us but....will Jurassic World Chaos Theory perhaps have a more "mature" tone now that the characters have grown up? I mean I know the original series was already pretty brutal when it wanted it to be, but I'd always like to imagine this universe to tackle into more mature and violent tones like prominent characters actually dying and compelling villains with a personal history that screams more than just "nah I'm evil cuz I wanna butcher some dinos or make money outta them". i'm gonna be straight with you guys -- i haven't been open about it on here but my life this past year has been kind of fraught. a lot of my followers will remember that i was taking a break from fanfic in order to try my hand at original works, but even that got put on the shelf in response to some of the things that have been going down this year.

tbh i don't especially want to go into huge amounts of detail, but basically one of my family members got sick, and needed full-time care. they're doing better now, but still not where they were before. there's more to it than that, but that's the biggest thing.

it's actually become kind of a meme in my friend group that we're all waiting for 2023 to die inelegantly. i'm not even the one having the worst time lmao.

i will say i am rewatching kinnporsche currently with someone, though. (in return, i am watching jojo's bizarre adventure. i am not sure who got the better deal.) so, if everything goes well... then well. let's not jinx it.

Oh absolutely. Noise is like this is PRIME blackmail material fuckin watch this shit. And it never happens 😭 theres like a specific part of peppinos brain that is allocated to recognizing the noise in vivid detail like a needle in a haystack and it overrides literally anything that would otherwise hamper his ability to both recognize and suppress the urge to throw hands w this brat. So the very most the noise can get out of him is a very satisfied and contented hum, and a half hearted swipe in the noises general space.

His hand misses and slams against the bar counter and the entire thing shakes like a bull slammed into it and the noise is like u know what! Thats good enough for me!! Ill fucking take it!!

Bonus if it completely backfires bc peppino fucking grabs him and hes like oh my god hes fucking HUGGING ME get the fucking camera ill pay anything to get this shit RIGHT NOW GET A CAMERA but the ‘hug’ is peppino grabbing onto him like a ragdolled ferret and the noise very quickly is like ‘oh i cant breathe really’, and hes just stuck like that for an hour bc peppino does not fucking yield in the slightest.
