What's up, peeps?

So, I was once again playing Legend of Mushroom. After about a week of building up the courage to try and make conversation in the server chat (give or take a day or two), I finally did it! My heart was beating so hard that it actually moved my whole body with every beat, but I did it :]

I really thought everything was going well, I managed to kind of hold a conversation and even earned myself a friend request in the process, but then I made the mistake of mentioning that I'm queer.

Cue the transphobic jokes, slurs, people ganging up on me whenever I try to contribute to the conversation, telling me that I'm either a man or a woman, and telling me to "stop making everything about gender" when I had in fact only mentioned it a handful of times because people were asking me questions about it.

I quickly gave up on trying to make friends.

One very strong panic attack later, and I'm stuck wondering why people are so mean

I didn't say anything bad or mean, I was just trying to contribute to the conversation :[

One kind person sent me a private message asking if I was okay, this person is also the one who sent me the friend request :]

It really made me feel a lot better, I'm extremely grateful ^-^

I'm still shaking, and I will be for a while, but I would be crying right now if it weren't for them.

Moral of the story:

1. don't ever mention anything about being queer in an online game server chat, it is never a safe space, and it will discourage you from ever typing another chat message again.

2. Reach out to people when you think they might need it. It never, ever hurts to check in on someone just in case. Worst case scenario, they'll just brush it off and continue with their day. Best case scenario, you just saved someone's life. I really can't stress this enough, don't be afraid to spread kindness in a world where it's so incredibly needed.

PSA aside, I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day 🧡 this blog is a safe space for anyone who might need a friend, or just someone willing to lend an ear. My messages are open, don't hesitate to pay them a visit for whatever reason. I care about you, and you're not alone

New dynamic that I will be having brain rot over

I’m catching up on vignettes and was absolutely delighted to have Leona greet Epel in such a chill way. Like, they’re on a sports team together and we’ve already seen that Leona does care about the freshmen on the team, so it makes sense! It’s just a joy and a delight for me personally to see them interact. Like, he’s not PLEASED about the whole thing, but it’s less murder vibes and more baby teammate who runs so far outside of his awareness most of the time that it’s just regular irritation.

Now all I want is Epel accidentally running into every single upperclassman in the school and accidentally becoming a magnet for secret help and gossip….

my apologies that the first thing i post after being super quiet is this but .... i believe that we need to STOP normalising ( or making it normalised in the first place ) that you are somebodies ‘ friend ‘ , let alone , CLOSE FRIEND , after just a single FOLLOW . nobody is my FRIEND after just following me anywhere on my blogs . & acting like you are my friend just because you follow me is .... really unsettling & uncomfortable . there is MORE to being friends than being mutuals . 

yes , i give people the OPPORTUNITY to interact with me . & people are allowed to be FRIENDLY with one another . i am not saying that isn’t allowed . that is fine . at the MOST people are acquaintances to me if we are mutuals . but nobody is my FRIEND until they have  ACTIVELY reached out & asked about myself or my wellbeing OUTSIDE of RP . 

i am not anybody's disposable writing partner . i am not JUST a puppeteer for whatever character i write . i am a human being . & honestly , i am not here to always be friends with every single person i meet . but i do not want people to immediately ASSUME that we are friends unless they have my discord & / or , at the very least , care about my well being enough to check up on me .

It’s all so beautiful. I’d argue it’s one of the most creative ways one can express themselves. I also have a condition called Synesthesia, which changes the way I experience sound.

3. Spirituality.

I grew up in a very Christian home and have since moved away from strict religious practices. I love spirituality because it can be so broad and oftentimes, extremely accepting.

4. Lemonade.

This is so random and basic considering the ones above this are so deep lmfao but I’ve loved lemonade my whole life. My WHOLE life. You know those videos of babies trying lemons for the first time and it’s so cute when they scrunch their faces up and everyone laughs? Yeah, my parents did that for me, and I just ate the whole lemon. It was always meant to be.

5. Writing.

If this wasn’t already obvious lol, I love writing. Since my earliest memories, I’ve loved it. Reading was originally my first love and writing quickly came after. It’s always spoken to me, I don’t know what it is; something about being able to tell a story so uniquely and beautifully just makes me swoon.

i feel like a lot of the 'i hate kids' crowd would be more tolerant if they understood that due to a kid's limited experience of the world that 4 hour flight might just be the longest they've ever had to sit still for or that trapped finger might literally be the most pain they've ever felt in their short life or they might not have ever seen a person with pink hair ever so of course they want to touch it or nobody's told them yet that they can't run around the museum and they only just learned cheetahs are the fastest animals so of course they want to put that to the test. how were they supposed to know etc etc.
