IT'S REMAKING TIME!!!
(8 June 2022 - 7 November 2022)
Characters:
- Mao Mao (Mao Mao Heroes of Pure Heart)
- Pixie (Pixie and Brutus)
- Oso (Special Agent Oso)
- Paddington (The Adventures of Paddington bear)
- Bunnicula (Bunnicula)
- Bugs Bunny (Looney Tunes)
REMAKE:
Tumblr media
Oh wait? Two visitors? It's Hissy from Puppy Dog Pals and Jax from The Amazing Digital Circus!
I add Hissy because everyone else is a show except Pixie who is in a webcomic
I also add Jax because drawing Bugs is hard for me LOLL (he try to push off Bugs out of the frame but Bugs already grab on the front layer of the frame so he won't fall off)
I try to make the art style accurate enough but I'm not sure so.. Oh well!
(don't even ask the old art style for Bunnicula, I was stupid back then..)

Here’s a one-shot for @themagicbrew ‘s RotTMNT AU where Doug, Hypno’s previous magical assistant, is very much alive! He is taken in by the Earth Protection Force (E.P.F). From there he’s trained in their ways and becomes an agent in training: Agent Deacon 💖 Please check it out, you can find it here!
Without further ado, enjoy!
Caínid: Hypno visits Doug’s grave, going down memory lane. Agent Deacon keeps an eye on things.
There was something in the way Hypno carried himself that let Warren know that day had come. The slumped shoulders, the slicked-back hair that seemed to frizz out at the ends, the eye bags. So the worm waved his partner goodbye at the door and wished him well, shoving aside plans for future crimes in favor of a grocery list for dinner. Something nice. Anything to lessen the blow of mourning a friend.
Hypno carefully made his way through midtown and to the subway, dodging and weaving between New Yorkers that barely seemed to mind him. There’d been weirder sights in the city, especially after that near end of the world incident that he totally didn’t have anything to do with. Totally. No, he was just a guy trying his best to make it to Brooklyn along with everyone else on the R train.
Twenty minutes and several uncomfortable stares later, the magician found himself standing at the entrance to Greenwood Cemetery. The massive iron wrought gates were pulled back, the entrance lined with poppy flowers that he discreetly nicked a handful of on his way in. And up the hill and past the guard, beyond the pond littered with lily pads and mallard ducks, and just below the road of mausoleums, was the marker of a small grave.
It was well-kept, visited often in Hypno’s free time. The same old photographs of his beloved assistant adorned the headstone, laminated to protect them from rain damage. He had tried to grow a watermelon patch around the area, something to spruce the place up even further and keep it hidden from sight, but had no such luck. So he settled for magical bouquets that never seemed to die and a memorial bench that could hold the weight of an adult hippo (complete with intricate carvings accurate in detail to his old friend on the arm rests). And upon said bench he sat as he looked down upon the headstone of the best magical assistant he ever could’ve wished for.
“Kia Ora… It’s been- I know what day it is…” The first words out always felt a little awkward, a clunkiness of syllables that tore up his tongue. But no one was around to listen to him stumble; made things easier.
“Been missing ya something fierce lately. What’s it been?” He raised his gloved hand up and began to count on his fingers. “Three, no, four years since I lost ya. Would’ve saved you if I could, Dougie-wougie. You know I would. And I tried, oh how I tried.”
The magician reached for his phone, pulling up articles of research that he’d done on long nights, especially after museum heists.
“Those turtles foiled plenty of my plans, but I still managed to get my hands on an amulet of necromancy.” He smiled slightly before he sighed, expression soured. “Just wish it worked. Stole a bloody dud.”
Hypno leaned back in his seat, eyes to the clouds and ears to the trees behind him. Only sunshine and silence. There’d be better times to be upset. No, no, it was time for healing, to celebrate the good.
“But enough about that.” He looked back down at the grave of his friend with a smile. “Got some brilliant news, you’re gonna love this. Wait for it, wait for it… finally got married! Was telling ya about my Warren last time, and well, he said yes!”
He grinned, thumbing over his wedding ring as the sterling silver band set with a bright red ruby glistened in the daylight. It was absolutely stolen, snatched from some antique store, not like he minded.
“You would’ve loved it. The wedding, I mean.” Hypno pulled out a handkerchief from a near-endless supply in his breast pocket, dabbing at his eyes.
“You always were the life of the party, my multi-talented companion. Warren would’ve loved you, too. Said he wanted to be here today but there was a…” The magician trailed off, trying to remember what his husband said. “Oh, yes, right. He had a scheduling conflict. Every time those pop up I come home to a nice dinner so…”
The sentence lingered in the air, unfinished as the monologue hung. Hypno shifted in his seat, not quite uncomfortable as much as he needed time to think. Oh, what to say…
“I still see you in everything. Drives me batty, e’ry now n’ then.” Another monumental sigh escaped his lips as the bench groaned underneath him.
“Sometimes I swear I can see ya just in the corners of my vision, off in the shadows of buildings or hiding behind street lamps. Warren must think I’m cracking up with all the times I stop and turn ‘round. He doesn’t say it but he thinks it, I know he does.”
Hypno’s ears flicked up as a rustle came from the tree-line behind him, turning in his seat to catch a glimpse of whatever could be out there. He scanned the area as he heard another crunch of leaves, not quite fussed enough to pull out his razor rings but keeping them at the ready just in case. A figure moved rapidly out of the shadows.
It was a mourning dove.
They were common in the area, especially abundant in late spring to early fall. The magician smiled slightly at his newfound feathered companion and tossed some bird seed its way.
“Maybe I’m just paranoid.” He turned back to Doug’s grave and pat the stone, slightly cold despite its placement in the sun. “Maybe I miss you too much for my own good.”
There was another shuffle among the trees that he opted to ignore, not wiling to jump at every bird or creature that bothered crossing his path. It seemed to be closer before stopping suddenly. He shook it off.
“I still remember the day I got ya. Some bloke had set up shop behind my show in South Africa during my first world tour. So he beckons me over, had a machete strapped to his side, and I was properly convinced that it’d spell me doom. Was gonna jet before I carked it, but then I saw you.”
A sad smile took residence on Hypno’s face, his eyes pointing ahead yet his gaze was far far away.
“You were so… small. Pretty sure they poached ya mum and took you when you were a wee thing out of pity.” Hypno began to fidget with his jacket buttons absentmindedly. “Said I could have ya for fifty bucks. And I said it was the deal of a lifetime.”
“I had just been in the market for a magical assistant, really. Rabbits and doves are classics, and I had plenty, but everybody needs a show stopper! And then you came into my life. Oh, Dougie, you lit up any room you entered.”
His mind wandered off to a better time, relaying events aloud as they passed through his thoughts. How Doug used to nibble on his suit in the early days, and then the days where the little hippo wouldn’t stop biting things, and Doug’s first on-stage performance when the tour made it to London. Then there was-
“I wanted to skip Australia. Aussies are terrifying, there’s spiders everywhere, and I’ve never been one for deserts. But you never would’ve seen it if we hadn’t gone.”
“There was a heatwave. Because of course God’s sandbox of forgotten nightmare creatures needed yet another thing to make it even more unpleasant.” Sarcasm dripped from his voice, a cutting edge to his words as they lacerated his tongue.
“First performance of the night was going well enough. You did an excellent job, by the way, my little biscuit.” Hypno pulled a poppy from his pocket and placed it beside Doug’s final resting spot; flowers for his star performer. “But things broke down as the show wore on. One moment it’s all fine and then…”
“You fainted. At least we all thought it was just that ‘til some lass checked your pulse. There… there weren’t any vets that could take you in Queensland. The closest was in New Zealand… Gisborne… home…” Hypno drummed his fingers on his lap, stuck in the moment.
“Doubt I’ll ever forget the wait. Fifteen hours you were in there, fighting for your life. Had a whole team on standby for ya. Got asked plen’y of questions. Really couldn’t answer ‘em all too well. Was wrecked with worry about ya. They said you had a valve replaced, that you needed medicine the insurance miraculously covered. Some real magic right here, I’ll tell ya what.”
He shook off the memory of Doug’s obscenely high medical bills that the vet had since forgiven. Even if he had to pay that amount in full it would’ve been worth it. Anything for his little pumpkin.
“Still remember the evening I brought you back from the emergency vet. Mum set up a pool in the backyard for you to swim in. Told her you were gonna be resting for a while and couldn’t get your stitches wet. She still insisted I sit with ya out back. And I did.”
Hypno smiled, a pained little thing, not quite going up all the way in the corners.
“You woke up around midnight. The sky was clear, lovely night really. A proper tapestry of diamonds up there.” The magician thought back on the moment, Doug’s head in his lap as he stroked the young hippo’s back. It felt as awe inspiring as it did peaceful. To observe the universe with such gingerness.
“And as gorgeous as the sky was, the stars were twice as beautiful reflected in your eyes.”
He wiped tears off his cheeks as his ears flicked up. There’d been more rustling behind him followed by the sound of something large sliding against tree bark.
“If I didn’t know any better I’d say you’re haunting me.” A dry laugh freed itself from his parted lips. “The only ghost I’d welcome, really.”
The tree-line had gone back to its usual quiet self, aside from the birds that lived atop the oaks and weeping willows. Hypno spent a moment waiting to hear any other shift of movement. Nothing.
“Wouldn’t be the only way you haunt me.”
Hypno paused a moment before continuing, a part of him still hoping for more ‘signs’. Anything to prove that he weren’t alone. Still nothing.
“There are days where I hated lookin’ in the mirror. Couldn’t really come to terms with,” he said, gesturing to his face, “this whole situation. But it’s not much of a curse now, innit? ‘Cause, in a way, it’s almost like I’ve still got you. An’ life’s better when I’m carrying you with me everywhere.”
Tears fell but Hypno didn’t move his hand to wipe them away, letting them fall to salt the earth below. He gave the grave before him a once over, the magical bouquet of flowers placed upon it wilting ever so slightly. He sighed.
“I hope you can hear me, Douglas. Wherever you happen to be. And I hope, god I hope, it’s better than here. Because you deserve it. You’ve always deserved better.”
Hypno brushed himself off as he got up from the bench, trying his hardest to ignore the ache in his chest that always came with these visits. There’d be comfort waiting for him at home, in the warm spring breeze, in the fact that life goes on.
And he took solace in it all as he walked off toward the subway, sliding by crowds of people that barely took notice of him, wiping his eyes on his handkerchief as he took a seat on the train back home. He could cry again next time. It was only a week away.  ***
Behind a mighty oak tree in Greenwood Cemetery sat a stunned hippo man, trying and failing to stop his emotions from getting the better of him. It was going less than well.
“Agent Deacon? Come in, Agent Deacon.”
Agent Doug Deacon scrambled for his communicator, mildly composing himself in time to answer his superior.
“Coming in, Agent Bishop.” His voice cracked slightly, he hoped Bishop wouldn’t pick up on that.
“You said you had eyes on the target. Where is he?”
Oh. Oh no.
Deacon peeked from his spot, his target long gone. The agony of the past being relayed in fine detail was tied with the pain of disappointing Bishop. He wasn’t gonna be allowed out of the Hidden City for a while for cocking this up…
“He has exited the cemetery, sir, but I am following him.”
“Good.”
And the communicator went silent.
Deacon shook his head and cursed under his breath as he ran, sticking from shadow to shadow. He wouldn’t mess this up. Couldn’t mess up. No, he’d prove himself worthy of his title of ‘agent’. He’d make Bishop proud.
Who else was there to be proud of him anymore anyway?

I got permission and love from @rarestdoge to show off this guy! Meet 'Overlord' Villain!Cameron Copperbottom. How he came to be, the idea of playing terraria together on master mode but as our villain characters. Realized Doge does not have a villain character and him wanting to play as his son and inspire by an abandoned construction site made this sad bastard. So Enjoy!
Ashley, Henry and Charles designs belong to @mai-mai-lim
Brutus belongs to @smoresthehalloweenqueen
The Incandescent Prince AU:
Cameron Takes over after private investigator and struggles hard with being in the leadership position. Ashley and Brutus trying to help him but they too are trying to figure out there new roles as his seconds. So hence the more angry and stressed out Cameron. Eventually they prepare the space station and have the toppat king ending style fight with the government and get out. Once in space Cameron determines that a next course of action is to recuse the remaining Toppats.
Charles and Seung-Jae are assigned any mission dealing with the Toppats because of their experience with them. This leads to the heist against the wall that Cameron prepares. Upon raiding the wall Charles and Seung-Jae are alerted to the situation and are sent in. This is where it goes revenged arc vibes. The rescue team ending up in the cafeteria and having the airship on stand by. Charles and Seung-Jae having land on the helicopter pad making their way down to the Toppats Location.
The Wall and Toppats are duking it out when they arrive and the main rescue team having gotten most of the Toppat on to the air craft. A few still behind, Right Hand Man is fighting with Cameron against Dimitri when Seung-Jae charges RHM and body checks him, causing him to lose balance and fall out the building. Cameron of course goes after him not really thinking. Which is the slight scene I drew where Honeymaple catches Cameron but was unable to save RHM. This leads to him being in critical condition. The mission was a success but at what cost.
This cause Cameron to spiral slightly. Reginald due to RHMs condition does not resume leadership and consoles Cameron as much as he can in his grief. Cameron continues being leader but with a bit more venom, he disliked the government before but now he hates the government. He hates Seung-Jae for Locking his dads up and being the cause that his dad might die. Seung-Jae is consumed with guilt and is not doing too good. Ashley and Brutus try to be there for Cameron but Cameron is isolating himself. He then imposes a new mission: to make the governments lives a living nightmare.
He sets a new rule to engage in combat with all government agents and to not show mercy. He begins these heist with high risk, high reward. He wants to government to surrender for one reason to get Henry Stickmin in the most humiliating way possible and then kill him in front of the whole clan for what he has done. Ashley and Brutus are of course horrified by the plan and start trying to reason with him. Which leads to ‘you’re either with me or against me’ argument.
Eventually His plan does work out and he gets Seung-Jae but also Charles as he not about to leave Henry alone to the Toppats. Cameron is pissed even more at the fact that Charles is here and he is associated with Henry but not even his brother can reason with him. At this point the Toppat doctors and Reginald managed to locate some scientists who can help save RHM, making him into Right Hand Man Reborn.
Cameron has prepared the stage for this judgment and execution. No body is happy with this but they are not about to stop their prince yet. The judgement has been made and the execution is to be delivered. Cameron facing down Seung-Jae as Charles and his seconds are trying to convince Cameron not to do this. Seung-Jae sacred by resigned to his fate. The Toppats unable to do anything without the risk of Cameron firing before they could stop him. Right Hand Man enters the Stage. Talking down Cameron and embracing him in a hug. Letting him know it’s alright. Cameron has a mental breakdown, his stress of being leader and everything that has happen, seeing his dad there and hugging him.
He cried.

Avenues of female political influence in late republican Rome:
Senior women frequently acted as advisors to their brothers, husbands, children, and occasionally even parents. Servilia is known to have had a strong influence over her brother Cato even in his adulthood, Fulvia was a key agent and confidante for each of her husbands, and even Tullia sometimes sent letters telling her father Cicero what she thought he should do.
Women had their own social networks in parallel to men. They visited each other for social engagements, religious observances, scoping out marital prospects for themselves or their children, and passed along letters and information. Aristocratic women like Servilia could often visit politicians' households more easily than their male relatives could, and female clients would often prefer to approach their patron's wife than the patron himself. Women could also be patrons with client networks in their own right.
Women could act as negotiators, spies, and go-betweens. Mark Antony's mother negotiated with Sextus Pompey on Antony's behalf; Servilia pulled strings to get Brutus and Cassius' provinces reassigned. Men often relied on their female relatives to tactfully sound out alliances, gauge public opinion, or collect intelligence while the man could maintain plausible deniability.
Women could canvass or intercede on behalf of relatives. Although being too publicly active was considered embarrassing, it was quite proper for a mother, wife, sister or daughter to talk to the family's allies, clients, and other politicians to get benefits for her kin. They could help male relatives get elected, taken off proscription lists, or get his legislation more support.
Women were probably consulted on most marriage alliances, and thus on political alliances via marriage. Mothers, grandmothers and aunts in particular were often involved, thanks to their extensive social networks and opportunity to assess potential spouses. Although brides usually didn't get much say in their first marriage, they usually had more choice in second and third marriages.
Women's social connections were especially important due to Rome's barebones civil infrastructure. Compared to modern states, republican Rome had very few magistrates or civil servants. There were also few "social services" in the modern sense. People relied on family connections and the patron-client system in order to meet their needs, respond to emergencies, and get things done. Having more friends in as many places as possible was necessary for political survival; you couldn't afford to sequester your women.
When men went overseas to govern provinces or serve in the legions, it was often their female relatives who managed estates in their absence, advocated for their interests in Rome, and kept them updated on political events. This was especially important in the late republic, when wives didn't normally follow their husbands to the provinces. A wife was expected to be a representative for her husband and point of contact for his allies. Mothers, sisters and aunts may do the same.
Property and power went hand in hand. Wealthier women had more social and political influence. Changes in marriage and inheritance law resulted in more women owning property in their own right during the late republic. Unless a will was written otherwise, by default sons and daughters inherited equal shares of an estate. Sine manu marriage enabled women to become legally independent at earlier ages, take back their dowries after divorce, and avoid being completely under their husbands' authority.
Although women couldn't vote or run for office, and were expected to use their influence in private homes instead of the public square, there's no doubt that aristocratic women like Servilia, Fulvia and Aurelia played major parts in building alliances, furthering their families' careers, defusing conflicts, and sometimes starting new ones. A particularly well-connected woman like Servilia could exert more weight in the Senate than most senators.
The system they lived in aligned their personal interests with those of their husbands, sons, and birth families, so most of our evidence shows women acting on behalf of men rather than pursuing personal agendas. These allegiances also ran along class lines: Servilia would have been far more interested in preserving her family's reputation, security and wealth than in the issues of poor or middle-class women.
In Roman politics, the personal was political. Parties and get-togethers were networking events. Weddings were for the families' joint prospects and goals as much as they were about the newlyweds. Friendships were expected to include reciprocal favors in business and politics. Your very house was both a symbol of yourself as a person, and your political hub, and your children would learn the system and make connections as much as home as in the forum.
This means that women, by necessity, were heavily involved in Roman politics. We have less documentation of their work than men's, since so much of it was unofficial and behind closed doors, but the republic depended on aristocratic women's skills, activities and relationships as much as on men's.
(Notes taken on Servilia and Her Family, by Susan Treggiari.)

I've seen it circulating that News Correspondent is the same character Alfred Singleton from Stoker's notes, and this is a bit of an exaggeration. The only mention of Alfred Singleton is on a single piece of paper labelled "Historiae Personae" (Rosenbach #1) and all that's written about him is "A Psychical Research Agent -- Alfred Singleton."
That being said, said piece of paper has some other great cut characters not in the finished Dracula that everyone should enjoy, including:
Jonathan Harker's sister (mentioned in another list--Rosenbach #35a--as being "shrewd and sceptical")
A detective named Cotford
Kate Reed, a "friend and former schoolfellow" of Mina's
A painter named Francis Aytown
Two mute servants (a man and a woman) in the service of the Count.
Rosenbach #1 also has listed a crossed out "An American Inventor from Texas" and "A Texan -- Brutus M. Marix" which many have taken to be proto-Quincey!

Ask the Double Agent scene redraw
Tumblr media
I maintained some aspects of the original image, while adding my own spice to it, such as Brutus' clothing and the CCC's SWU fatigues.
I have a bit of a tendency to give every character I draw a gun.
And I gave Allison an MP5.

Reading Antonio Conti's Marco Bruto (1744)!
Highlights from Act 1 Scene 1:
Brutus has a shrine to Cato in his house.
Servilia is the political mastermind behind Caesar's impending coronation. She plays senators as she pleases. This apparently includes Cicero, on whom she has influence through Publilia.
In 63 bce, Servilia's letter to Caesar that made Cato so mad was delivered in the senate by none else than Decimus Brutus.
Caesar wants to marry Brutus to Octavia; Brutus said fuck this.
Servilia is not happy about this refusal, about Porcia, about Cassius, and most of all about the ghost of Cato.
Albinus pretends to work with Servilia but really works with Cassius. Very sexy of him to always be a double agent.
Some more from subsequent scenes:
Cassius would have stabbed Caesar at the Lupercalia but Trebonius held him back saying they still need Brutus there for PR purposes.
Porcia is very persuasive.
Porcia and Cassius complain to each other about Brutus.
