:) these are just artistic film photography :) and are not sexually explicit :) similar photos of similar subjects by photographers like Robert Mapplethorpe and Andy Warhol are easily available both online and in art museums, but i'm community labelling them anyway :) so don't erase the post staff :)

loml
The title of this song refers to both love of my life and loss of my life. Harry's only track 13 is Love of My Life. Like Harry's LOML, loml is a song about letting a long held love go. Both are regretful of love lost but neither over it. As a song about a long museship the references to both Taylor and Harry's work is dense, so this post is long. A shorter TLDNR is here. The nature of the relationship Taylor is describing is one that should have a lot of references, and it does. Each chorus refers to a different song where Harry professed love.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The initial Spotify Canvas was of Taylor in a sweater looking emotional. After Fortnight was released it was replaced with Taylor and Post inside the Style-head reading Story of Us on the road. Taylor played loml once as a surprise song on piano in Paris, with Paris in the first show after their release on 9 May 2024.
Lyrics
[Verse 1] Who’s gonna stop us from waltzing back into rekindled flames If we know the steps anyway? We embroidered the memories of the time I was away Stitching, “We were just kids, babe”
The first verse establishes that Taylor is singing to an old muse at the end of a breakup, or false start. She refers to them being together in their youth, of wistful memories and that the love is irreplaceable. It is full of references:
Waltzing back into rekindled flames, Taylor refers to dance as a kind of subconscious action in several songs, this reminds me most closely of 'Dancing around it' in High Infidelity and 'Dancing is a dangerous thing' in Cowboy Like Me - where the dance is also tempting a romantic relationship, they know the steps - as in they have fallen into this before.
Embroidering memories touches on the Haylor theme of stitches. 'Away is in a lot of Taylor's songs. 'Taylor' embroiders in EHC and LK posted about embroidery after TTPD
Tumblr media Tumblr media
'While I was away' reminds me of AYHTS "People like you always want back the love they gave away" and Midnight Ran's "the life I gave away" - a similar idea that she was absent.
Stitching 'We were just kids babe' is a reference to Patti Smith's Biography 'Just Kids' which is her memories about her time with fellow artist Robert Mapplethorpe who died of Aids. Taylor also refers to this time in Patti Smith's life in TTPD. Patti thanked Taylor for the callout with posting a photo of her reading Dylan Thomas' biography. This line establishes this muse is a fellow young artist who Taylor had an important relationship with when they were young. Taylor & Harry have likened themselves to famous couples
I said, “I don’t mind, it takes time” I thought I was better safe than starry-eyed I felt aglow like this Never before and never since
'I don't mind, it takes time', this idea is referred to in Peter also and other Haylor songs:
Run: Piece of paper where I wrote, “I’ll wait for you”
How You Get The Girl: I would wait forever and ever
“Slut!”: Everyone wants him, that was my crime, the wrong place at the right time
Say Don’t Go: The waiting is a sadness fading into madness
"I thought I was better safe than starry-eyed" - the prologue describes three muses, as does the Fortnight MV. One has celestial imagery that links to Satellite, such as stars, comets, orbit, planet and whole sky. Starry-eyed is in a few songs including:
CIWYW - Starry eyes sparking up my darkest night
Cowboy like me - Eyes full of stars
High Infidelity - Do I really have to chart the constellations in his eye
Better safe than starry eyed also reminds me of "How dare you think it's romantic / Leaving me safe and stranded" in Down Bad that refers to New Romantics "Please leave me stranded"
'Never felt aglow like this', 'never before and never since' is a glowing irreplaceable connection. Taylor described similar in:
This Love - This love is glowing in the dark
Question...? - Does it feel like everything's just like second best after that meteor strike?
[Chorus 1] If you know it in one glimpse, it’s legendary You and I go from one kiss to getting married Still alivе, killing time at the cemеtery Never quite buried
I knew from one glimpse, it was legendary, we go from one kiss to getting married is a reference to Holy Ground:
“Back to a first glance feeling on New York time/ Back when you fit my poems like a perfect rhyme/ Took off faster than a green light, go : Yeah, you skip the conversation when you already know”
A similar line is also in Glitch - "Five seconds later, I'm fastening myself to you with a stitch"
‘Still alive at the cemetery’ is similar to The 1: “In my defense, I have none / For digging up the grave another time” which in turn is a reference to the OOTW/LAWYMMD music video link where Taylor from the end of 1989 is Taylor at the start of the next video.
Tumblr media
In your suit and tie, in the nick of time
‘In your suit and tie’ is dressed for a wedding. Arriving ‘in nick of time’ is the muse interrupting a wedding saying “don’t do this there’s still time!” Which Taylor said of Harry, when describing the muse of Style and 1989 Taylor said she expected this. Here she is saying she was fooling herself.
You low-down boy, you stand-up guy You Holy Ghost, you told me I’m the love of your life You said I’m the love of your life About a million times
“Low down boy; you stand up guy” is a person who has been in Taylor’s life since they were a boy (with a dirty mouth) who has grown to be a stand up guy. They are now grown but not with her.
Taylor then refers to Harry’s music, Holy Ghost refers to Two Ghosts and refers to Love of My Life by name. In which Harry says it 5 times, he’s performed it 102 times to around 700k fans, so yeah, a lot. Note it's “said” not “told me”.
[Verse 2] Who’s gonna tell me the truth when you blew in with the winds of fate And told me I reformed you? When your impressionist paintings of heaven turned out to be fakes
Taylor refers to truth often, but usually her telling or seeing a truth, But in the Alcott the muse tells her the truth and she says she she has fallen back in love with the muse. I imagine in Taylors life many do not tell the truth, but this muse can and does. Here Taylor asks if they will still tell the truth if they are together.
The muse told Taylor she reformed them. Harry says this in Stockholm Syndrome, that he "used to sing about being free but now he has changed his mind". On 13 May 2023 Harry added Stockholm Syndrome to the HSLOT set for the last 18 shows. A song he he wrote for Taylor when they were dating and had not performed since 2018.
The impressionist paintings may refer to the Two Ghosts music video, which was or became tour screens. (Thank you @notoriousbeb) The reference to fakes is where an overture of love did not come through.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Well, you took me to hell too And all at once, the ink bleeds A con man sells a fool a get-love-quick scheme But I’ve felt a hole like this Never before and ever since
The second half of this verse links back to past writing to each other
'And all at once, the ink bleeds' I LOVE this line so much. It has a double meaning, the ink bleeds as Taylor writes music inspired by a museship that has featured in so much of her work. The ink bleeds like emotion bleeds as the bleeding love theme.
"A conman sells a fool a get love quick scheme" this line is dense:
In Why She Disappeared, the poem played before Getaway Car in the Reputation Stadium Tour included "Wary of phone calls and promises, Charmers, dandies and get-love-quick-schemes"
Harry and Taylor have referred to each other as robbers, thieves, cowboys and now a conman see thief theme
Harry and Taylor have both referred to themselves as a fool many times for being stuck on each other.
Never felt a hole like this before or since is crushing, it reminds me of Questions...?'s "Does it feel like everything's just like second-best after that Meteor strike?"
Tumblr media
[Chorus 2] If you know it in one glimpse, it’s legendary What we thought was for all time was momentary Still alive, killing time at the cemetery Never quite buried You cinephile in black and white All those plot twists and dynamite Mr. Steal Your Girl, then make her cry You said I’m the love of your life
In the second chorus Taylor again refers to songs by Harry, but changes which ones:
Mr Steal Your Girl refers to One Directions Steal My Girl.
B&W Cinephile may refer to when Harry kept his Instagram B&W for 2 years from when 1989 was released with the line 'the rest of the world was in screaming color' it may also refer to the Treat People With Kindness music video in B&W and widescreen. Harry is also a cinephile, both in being a fan of cinema and appearing in more recent films than her actor partner at the time.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
[Bridge] You shit-talked me under the table Talking rings and talking cradles I wish I could un-recall How we almost had it all Dancing phantoms on the terrace Are they second-hand embarrassed That I can’t get out of bed ‘Cause something counterfeit’s dead? It was legendary It was momentary It was unnecessary Should’ve let it stay buried
Taylor acts this lyric out in fortnight in the eras tour.
Shit-talking can mean either disparaging remarks or saying something untrue and going on about it. Talking, (or drinking) someone under the table is doing so in excess. So I take this first line 'shit-talked me under the table' to mean the muse went on saying untrue things for ages, in the context of the rest of the verse I think that is making statements of love they were not yet willing to follow through on.
Taylor sees they were so close, a similar line is in TTPD there is a similar line of 'litany of reasons we could have played for keeps this time' Taylors muse has professed love and that they are endgame but not followed through.
In the Only Angel Demo Harry sang "I must admit I married you a thousand times. Had to change my tune when I found out what it'd be like."
Counterfeit is also in Glitch "It must be counterfeit, I think there's been a glitch"
The shit-talk is rings and cradles, in a time that Taylor was disappointed a long term relationship ended another long term muse flirted with settling down but did not. Harry wore the Peace Ring and Haylor ring for years, they seemed as possible promise rings which these lines remind me of. As do songs of both which may refer to the other. The Haylor ring is featured in merchandise for TTPD and Taylor wears it in the Fortnight Music Video so it is likely this ring.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
[Final Chorus] Oh, what a valiant roar What a bland goodbye The coward claimed he was a lion I’m combing through the braids of lies “I’ll never leave,” “Never mind” Our field of dreams engulfed in fire Your arson’s match, your somber eyes And I’ll still see it until I die You’re the loss of my life
The final chorus reads as a bitter disappointment of Taylors muse has meekly said they will not be with her.
Stockholm Syndrome - which Harry readded to his setlist 13 March 2023 (gone since 2018) has the line "Baby, I'll never leave if you keep holding me this way, oh o-oh" Here Taylor has compared it to what looks like a goodbye statement from someone who doesn't want to talk about it.
It is the loss of Taylor's life, one she felt at the time of writing this song was not one she would get over.
Valiant Roar
The 'valiant roar' is likely a reference to Harry's Gucci Lion ring which he has worn since 2018 and briefly lost in April 2022 at Coachella. It attracted a lot of attention until it's return when it was learned it has an inscription of 'second time's the charm'. Taylor also wore a Gucci Lion ring at Electric Lady Studios on 12 April 2023 (before heading to Florida). At that time the 1975 were in Australia and Harry was in the US after a golf tournament in Augusta. This line also reminds me of this scene in DWD which OW described as a 'primal roar' to Rolling Stone in 2022.

Letter
I hesitated to write this post, i did say in another post that i decided to post it later (wow that’s a lot of “post” in the same sentence lol) so i can say that this has been sitting in my drafts since hours ago but i guess i’ll just post it anyways. As you can guess it’s about “Letter”
So as you may know, Jimin brought us a surprise which is a hidden track called “Letter” with JK doing background vocals (The Jikook subunit we never knew we’d get, well close enough i still see it as a subunit i don’t care sue me), thing is, i’ve seen some “theories” going around it about how “It’s a letter to us 🥺” or “It’s a Jikook song” and well.. I don’t agree with either one of those, why? i’ll tell you
Yes despite being a Jikooker i’m not a crazy cultist to come up with theories where i just stop seeing Jimin and JK as two individuals, we don’t do that in this house. So reason why i disagree is because this album is supposed to about Jimin all about himself, about facing himself, about growing out of a toxic past, leaving it behind and taking new fresh steps full of acceptance of who he truly is, he said it himself he didn’t want to have any collab because it wouldn’t make sense for someone else to sing about what HE feels.
Now “Letter” is supposed to come after “Like Crazy” English Version, well not really after it but it’s part of it, and i know that not everyone is smart enough to understand the message, many ignored the purpose of the album completely and the clear messages written ON THE ALBUM to interpret it but let me just rewrite it (i know damn well the homophobes will turn a blind eye to this) On Jimin’s album this is what’s written
Tumblr media
Key sentence : The reflection of myself in an unfamiliar appearance. Despite people freaking out about “OMG i thought they were going to kiss” “It’s a break up song and the girl is supposed to be his gf/ex-gf”
Tumblr media
(Okay i know i’m now talking about Like Crazy while the initial post said i was going to talk about Letter but trust the process)
While Jimin did say that Like Crazy was based on the movie, it also wasn’t LITERALLY based on it, there’s this general idea, a story each can relate to it their own way and that’s what Jimin did, In an interview this was his reply
Tumblr media
Key word : Ambiguous.
Jimin isn’t making an OST for the movie so why would anyone think he’s taking the literal story for his song? Going back to what he said about his reflection and the girl that made people go crazy without doing the minimum effort to understand, she basically represents Jimin himself, they walk towards each other but never collide because they are reflections
Tumblr media
And to give you more insight about this, this is basically coming from “The Four Carl Jung Archetypes”. Carl Jung identified four main archetypes: the persona, the shadow, the anima or animus and the self. These are a result of collective, shared ancestral memories that may persist in art, literature and religion but aren’t obvious to the eye. These recurring themes help us understand the Jungian archetypes. These Jungian archetypes represent a journey from an unconscious state to individuation: a merging of the conscious and the unconscious.
Tumblr media
What people also failed to notice is the very clear queer-code in the MV, from the colors, little details, clothings, etc.. As someone said on Twitter “This feels exactly like how my gay ass feels when i’m in a bar surrounded by straight people”. The outfit :
Tumblr media
Which has Robet Michael Mapplethorpe in it
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now this one is my very own interpretation so take it with a grain of salt but this
Tumblr media
Personally to me, him sitting between a woman and a man kissing says a lot to me. It’s the fact that he’s in the middle.. I’m not going to further explain those who get it get it, those who don’t don’t.  But that’s my own personal interpretation i’m just slipping it in here.
Now that this is out of the way let’s go back to “Letter” this whole talk about “Like Crazy” is mainly because to me Letter is related to it since very obviously both tracks are one technically speaking. So while people think it’s a letter to Army but i’m over here like “If it’s a letter to Army, why is it hidden? Why would they make it so that it’s only accessible to people who have the physical album? I thought the purpose of an Army dedicated song was for it to be OFFICIALLY out for all Army to listen to” because yes despite that being uploaded online by other Army but if we all decided to be petty and selfish af, this won’t see the light of the day on the internet and that defies the whole purpose of a song for Army.
As i said above this album is about himself, he’s talking about his own struggles so saying that this is an Army song as if Army are a struggle too is a bit.. And that also on his very first solo album where he’s supposed to focus on sharing a message about himself. When Hobi decided to dedicate a song to Army he didn’t put it in JITB it was a separate single, Joon didn’t have no Army dedicated song in Indigo either because again their solo Albums are about themselves, it’s a journey to share with us their individuality and their own colors. Jin didn’t have much of a choice he had to leave for MS there wasn’t enough time for an album or maybe he himself didn’t really feel the need to make an album and his main focus was to make a song for Army which he did and gifted us Astronaut. (GOD I MISS JIN)
The lyrics too, i as Army and as Jimin’s FAN, it didn’t feel directed to me. “Now I'll be the one to hold you, When you want to cry, So you won't trip and fall” or even “Because we don't know what days await us, Though it's scary, though we're afraid, Never forget that we're together” those feel like something related to himself as well, let’s also not forget that technically speaking it’s related to “Like Crazy” too which i explained above, why would anything Army related be scary? Why would we be afraid? What is there to be afraid of? Also how will Jimin hold us when we want to cry?
I also said that i disagree on the fact that it’s a “Jikook song” i don’t know how to explain precisely but some people seem to interpret it as THEIR song whereas even if Jimin is actually singing about his relationship with JK it’s still about his OWN feelings, his OWN promises, his OWN confession, despite JK doing the background vocals in which they harmonized so very beautifully kudos to them, i still think it’s all about Jimin, yes there might’ve been a reason why he chose JK himself for that or maybe they chose that together because really it could’ve been anyone and JK could’ve done the background vocal to any other song in the album yet it was on this one. He really did a lot of effort to open up to us so i really hope people see it as his pov on everything.
I made a post relating the song to There for You from GCFT and yes quite honestly to me it feels like a response to “I’ll be there for you but you gotta be there for me too” and yet again it still goes back to the same thing, it is Jimin’s OWN reply. I also noticed how Army songs didn’t have other members in them (well i mean Army songs in this solo era) so again why would this be an Army song if JK was in it? I don’t even know if all of this makes a lot of sense, can’t say i’m the best with words but i tried to convey how i see it.
Oh and let us be reminded that this was his reaction to knowing we found out about and and so cheesily saying that he won't tell us about it for now lol
Boy what are you all giggly and shy for?
Tumblr media
🧐
(Tagging this under Jikook because i don’t trust the rest of the fandom that much)

They are different y'all...
Keep scrolling if kinkiness makes you uncomfortable.
Tumblr media
While I've been watching JK's live (post coming soon) someone pointed out the rings JK is wearing in his Seven schedule poster... the ring with the ring on it...has connotations in the BDSM world... those who wear it are signaling their submissiveness. In that same line of thought, Jimin was wearing thumb rings on both hands in his Like Crazy MV... thumb rings in a homosexual context...
Tumblr media
and this could be an outdated thing, but a man is signaling he is open to certain types of sex... this is definitely outdated but at one time men wearing a single earring in the left ear signals he's straight, in the right ear he is gay. In the Like Crazy MV, Jimin had his single earring in the left ear but he looks into the mirror and it is in his right ear.
Tumblr media
The bisexual/bigender coding in the MV was off the charts.
And we already talked about Jimin's Like Crazy MV Mapplethorpe pants and how David Mapplethorpe was deep into the BDSM world.
Tumblr media
We've heard Jimin asking JK if he liked it when he was tied at the wrists and running through the woods... ahem... I've already talked about their lil kinky selves before... I can't find the posts but if you've been following me a while, you know what I've been saying...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They have a thing for strappy, tying things...
I've been saying... they are different y'all. Listen to me.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So what are Jimin and Jungkook trying to tell us? Why show us these things? Are these just stylists choices? I think not. There are too many instances for any of it to be coincidence or just a "stylists choice."
The members are too involved in how they express themselves individually during this solo era. Sexual kink is not really a big deal but why even go there? Personally, I love seeing them express ALL sides of themselves. The hints Jimin has given us are more and more explicit as time goes on. I don't buy the argument that "they don't know what that means." Of course they do. They are grown men. They are not virgins. They are living breathing red-blooded males in the prime of their lives.
The way they are presenting these concepts to us is still very conservative when compared to what I see from western artists. What Jimin and Jungkook have shown us, especially Jimin... is very tasteful, elegant, teasing and thought provoking, not raunchy and in-your-face. I want to say to some western artists: I would prefer not to have your twat in my face so please close your legs. But alas...
And now it is Jungkook's time to show us his colors. For some reason I don't mind his crotch in my face... I digress...
Anyway... JK live post coming soon. He's a hoot.
EDIT: Whoa someone got triggered (lmao). Yes, its a very cool ring. And its ok if its just a cool ring for some or most people. Cuz, wow, cool ring. What I said though was the ring "has connotations". I did not say this ring was designed specifically with this in mind. (Reading comprehension is appalling these days.)
But you know... the designer doesn't have to be associated with the lifestyle or even had any intention of associating their design with anything specific. But someone IN the lifestyle would recognize the design motif. This particular ring's attached ring is a "spring" clasp? Like what you use to clasp necklaces? So um... you could attach a chain easily to this ring? I see. Well. Cool ring bro.
And it's also ok if you don't want to see the message Jimin is expressing. I'm sure he's used to people turning a blind eye on what he's trying to say. It's also ok to say your opinion differs from mine and not try to make your opinion the correct one because honestly, no one knows anything and to think you do know, well... that would be next level dumb wouldn't it?

i'm not taking orders from you.
@coastercrushed || Mapplethorpe & Frank || prompted.
Frank cants his head, rapid breathing emanating from behind his mask and causing small bursts of fog to spill from the corners of his drawn-over smile. It was like cat and mouse with Mapplethorpe, Frank chasing him down and taking his sweet time killing the poor bastard. He preferred to make him afraid, keep his heart hammering in his chest until it felt like it was going to fucking burst. Frank's thumb traces slow circles across the handle of his knife as he contemplates where best to stick it.
Tumblr media
" You sure? " Frank questions, his tone amused as always, " Even if I promise, cross my heart, " He raises the blade of his knife and makes an X across his heart, " I'll let you go? Even if I promise I won't cut your tongue off and make you choke on it? " His voice is sickeningly sweet.
" Don't be such a bitch. All you gotta do is keep one of your friends from leaving that shack over there just long enough for me to grab them. Even a moron like you can do it. You don't even have to stick around! I'm not even making you watch! Do what I ask and they won't even remember what you did. Come on, that's a good deal, isn't it? You get to walk right out of here while I do the dirty work and no one gets hurt! "
Not for long, anyway.

Dear Mami, how are ya? I'm sorry, this is going to be a long message but it's for a good cause (some interesting info for you and your audience). A few days ago new photos of P in his dressing room (from the time he was starring a play on Broadway) came out and thanks to one of those photos you and your anons brought up the fact that P had not one but two photos of a straight couple having sex, right? so, in the same photo you guys saw that detail my wandering eyes zoomed on a shelf to see what kinds of things P had choose to put on his dressing room and two things caught up my attention:
One was a candle of James Baldwin, a writer whose work covered among other things, the queer life. And while I'm not versed on his work I know at least in one of his books the characters are bissexual. I don't remember the name of the book but the main character is in Paris waiting for his girlfriend to arrive and ends up having a affair with a guy who either also has a girlfriend or at least had one (or various). Also, besides the Jame's candle I also noticed two Robert Mapplethorpe's books. Robert was a photographer whose work had a heavy erotica element, some of his photos consisted of naked bodies of men and women and also straight up lewd acts like in this photo (which you might not be able to post 😅)
https://www.artnet.com/artists/robert-mapplethorpe/marty-and-veronica-pe7IqVSB5Z9epEi9Pq_UVA2
Remember an anon who said P liked a photo on instagram of a man with his face between a woman's legs? I have a strong feeling it was this exact one 🤔 anyway, Robert's work is quite "bissexual", if you want to see dicks you will be served, if you want to see tits (and pussy) you will be served too. Here's a nice page with a lot of his work:
https://www.artnet.com/artists/robert-mapplethorpe/83
Again, sorry for the huge message 😅 hope someone else beside me find this infos interesting.
James Baldwin is his favorite author, he often talks about him, but the Robert Mapplethorpe books are new! 👀👀👀 You are right, Pedro just full of erotic art featuring men and women in his dressing room, huh? 🤔🤔 As for the pic, you could be very much right too! I couldn’t find it posted on Instagram, but the description fits with the one you sent us. 🤭🤭🤭🫢

Thank you for sharing this gem with us! 🥰🥰🥰💝🫶🏻

Apologies if this is too personal, please ignore this ask if it is or you're otherwise not interested in responding. Broadly, I am wondering about how your experience with gender transition may feel connected to your kinks.
More specifically though, I am wondering how the experience of transition may feel connected to age regression kink for you.
The reason I am curious is because other trans femmes I know have described the feeling of going through transition as like being a kid or teenager again, either because they are relearning how to live their lives or because they've felt like as of a result of they're increased sense of self from undergoing transition that they're for the first time really living their lives.
Additionally, the broader narratives of HRT as a "second puberty" and more theoretically the idea of "queer time" can be connected to those experiences.
Anyway, to reiterate the question maybe more clearly, has gender transition ever felt like being a younger person again? And if so, was it from that feeling that your appreciation for age regression began to take form or does that feeling otherwise feel connected to your experiences with age regression?
Honestly I’m not into the sort of “playacting a stylized young childhood” sorts of age regression, it’s just too goofy in unsexy ways for me, but I do like the thought of being cared for (in an erotic queer context) by an older person who has their shit together much more than me or most of my friends
And it’s a pretty on-the-nose cocktail of psychological factors, I think - wanting to be courted and seduced as a Cute Girl, wanting to receive erotic affection (read: “be a pillow princess”) when I’m sometimes anxious about giving it, wanting parental figures I don’t feel I have to hold at arm’s length from the messy psychosexual parts of my identity
And I’d say transition absolutely feels like being a younger person at times, it can be jarring to handle adult responsibilities and physical limitations while rebooting puberty. I find that it’s easier to treat myself well if I conceptualize myself as the guardian of some younger, more vulnerable version of myself (who may also be a dog), and I like letting someone else take over that guardian role for a bit
About a year ago I found Act My Age, an album about the healing, redemptive power of ageplay. I highly recommend it as a good-ass piece of art across the board, but it was also useful for defining my desires both in agreement and contrast (along with The Flowers of Robert Mapplethorpe). These albums were also a key step in learning to appreciate art that takes very weird emotional palettes completely seriously, something I’ve tried cultivating more ever since.
In sum: while I have a weird and ambiguous relationship with age regression per se, I value having good diplomatic relations with the community and appreciate their artistic output, and sometimes all I want is a father figure to soothe me after a tiring day and then fuck me senseless

Is Liv’s gunshot wound one of those Jennifer Mapplethorpe Bullet Wounds (TM) that tears through flesh and bone but does not restrict movement in anyway and looks really cute when she’s naked?
It's even more magical than that - this guy who came in with some kind of gas in canisters that was blinding people, wearing a serious heavy duty gas mask, on his way to assassinate two cops for a $100k bounty, decided to bring a shotgun. So he didn't even put a bullet in her, just a bunch of pellets a surgeon had to dig out of her. But yeah still looks really cute when she's naked 🥺

Born on this day 84 years ago (November 18, 1939): model turned muse of Salvador Dali, turned cover girl for the album Roxy Music (For Your Pleasure (1973)) turned nightclub singer with the voice of Dietrich, turned host of TV, turned Playboy playmate, turned perennial gay icon and synonym for continental hedonism and glamor - Amanda Lear! Or was she? Some sources list her birth date as June 18. And Lear's birth year has been reported as 1941, 1946, and 1950. (Unsurprisingly, Lear herself prefers the latter). You see, Lear is a mysterious international woman whose precise origins, real name, and even sex at birth are shrouded in secrecy (she is widely seen as being transgender). Lear performed in a personal appearance at The Fridge nightclub in Brixton in the early nineties. She throatily sang a hi-NRG disco rendition of the standard “Lili Marlene” in her foghorn voice, flanked by baby-oiled bodybuilders in pose bags. Probably the most exaggerated thing ever seen, until Ann-Margret's nightly revue at The Stardust Casino in Las Vegas in 2005. Anyway, Lear (whose romantic partners include Brian Jones, David Bowie and Bryan Ferry), Lear was also allegedly the inspiration for the character Patsy Stone on the TV show Absolutely Fabulous, her elegant 1978 disco single “Follow Me” is the soundtrack to Chanel’s current perfume campaign. (The music still hits hard). In the photo: portrait of Lear from 1976, made by Robert Mapplethorpe.

I keep seeing people say “well Brian should have bud on the stuff if he wanted it so badly.” And by coincidence I’ve been rereading Just Kids by Patti Smith, and at the very end she mentions how she agonized over Mapplethorpe’s things going up for auction, and made herself sick over it, but “couldn’t bear to,” bid on them even though she could have. (Also important to note that some of the possessions had once belonged to both of them, so it just seems doubly relevant in this case.) I imagine Brian and Roger and other friends of Freddie’s feel similarly. There’s something ghoulish and haunting about the idea of competing with strangers for the personal photographs and and handwritten lyrics of your friend. Them bidding, while people kept saying “they can afford to, why not?” Never really crossed my mind. It’s just kind of weird and unbearable when you think of it imo.
Any Mary stan (and that's all who's saying it at this point) saying Brian and Roger should have just bid on the stuff anyway are missing that they should never have had to bid on pictures of themselves and items important to their band in the first place. That's first of all.
Secondly, yeah, as I said to a deliberately obtuse anon like last week who was like "DURRR how would Brian and Roger going to the auction be a spectacle?", it definitely would have made a scene if the only two members of the band left (John is alive but away from Queen) were struggling against strangers wanting to buy their dead best friend's things, and things that really belong to their band at that.

Sitting here with a cute aggression hewn rage over one of Doe’s little ‘isms in the TLB/Vampire AU. Cause like,
Doe is traditionally mute in every way conventionally human, Mapplethorpe ripped her entire throat out and she had to regrow it all from scratch, which in some cases were simple enough when the vamp blood could rebuild from the fragments, moulding to it like an artificial shell, but her larynx was *toast*
Doe has NO (human) vocal cords anymore, no larynx, nothing. She can try to speak but because the folds can’t vibrate in a controlled way, it’s nothing. Doe is silent, she can’t control or mould her breathing into words! There’s nothing to vibrate that can manipulated! And, unfortunately, given the circumstances, artificial larynxs or vocal chords are entirely unavailable.
HOWEVER, the Vamp blood, well it’s not an idle bystander just watching the operation of Doe and her body from the background. It’s active, it’s present and it has a couple of cards tucked away under its sleeve to keep her in tip-top order even in spite of her circumstances. See, it has a designed image it follows when rebuilding Doe into her fully vampiric state, and it’s design encompasses Doe’s WHOLE body, from her head to her toes and including her throat! The vamp blood, when she ‘goes vamp’ or so to speak, will activate, taking root in her empty throat and growing for her the vocal folds, larynx and membrane for BAT-LIKE communication. Not human, mind you, BAT.
So, needless to say, Doe isn’t getting back what she lost, this new voice doesn’t sound anything like her old voice, but it’s a worthy successor, especially once she gets the grasp of the Old Tongue it’s linked to. Most vampires never bother to learn it, I mean, why rely on bat sounds when you can just speak human? But that’s a different subject. Just know, Doe has a non-human voice in a non-human language that Carrie’s a different sound and volume than human-speech does!
WHICH LEADS ME TO THE ANGRY CUTE:
Doe and her grasp on the vampiric true-tongue is nothing like what the language was meant to be from conception or how it would manifest in truly ANCIENT vampires.
Ancient vampires have their own song. Their language and voice are meant to carry and chitter in the wind while flying and disarm people. It’s a bit bird-like in that fashion, but always with this hiss of danger. But Doe? She carries the language with such a human flavor and understanding, there are her pretty bird like moments singing into the night, but normally she doesn’t speak like that.
Doe carries her chitters with a beat like a war drum to make her words distinctive so the others can follow more clearly. She shapes certain words around the human pronunciation, even if it ruins the word in the old language in the technical sense, it makes bridging the gap between her and her friends easier!
Doe works hard to find anyway she can try English and Spanish into the Old Tongue, finding ways to push her vocal tools to the very limit into a kind of human communication. AND GOD, THE FACT THAT SHES TRYING SO HARD TO SAY THE NAMES OF HER FRIENDS EXACTLY AS SHE KNOWS THEM IN ENGLISH!!! RAAAAHHH!!!
Doe knowing her words, while EXCEPTIONAL at bouncing around and carrying, do get confusing when you can’t hear the intricacies up close, so for more complex statements, often jokes, she’s leaning up to whoever she’s talking to in order to whisper in their ear so they can make it out easier, even if it looks ridiculous and like a scene straight from some fantasy movie about an evil manipulating royal advisor sewing seeds of doubt into a weak-willed king.
Doe happy to repeat herself several times so she can be clearly understood and never taking it to heart and still happily conversing as best she can, acting as though everyone’s speaking the same language, even when she’s the odd-duck out.

I've seen several people get harassed over their opinions on what these songs are about and I agree I have some of my own theories about Like Crazy and all of them pertain to Yoonmin (if I ever said these aloud people would get up in arms about it except other YM shippers) they may not be straight up facts (it's all speculation and opinion at the end of the day) but like you said it's the fans interpretation of the art which is what it's all about.
I think it gets difficult because Jimin has spoken quite a bit about Face, so there are things we know, but there are still even more things that we don’t know and are left to the viewer/listener to interpret. Of course, there are reasonable interpretations and unreasonable ones. But, I don’t see it as “right and wrong” and I don’t think Jimin does either. I don’t think he’s wringing his hands because people noticed the portrait on his pants in LC or the way every concept in his photo-folio corresponds to a Robert Mapplethorpe work. If that was an accident or a mistake or had no meaning or he was offended by people making the connection, he’d just…say it. It would take 30 seconds to clarify.
But as an artist, he knew this would be something people would notice and discuss. And I believe he’s fine with that conversation happening. That says a lot about not only his world view but also the way he sees himself.
Same with the reflection/female lead in LC (mv and choreo). Same with the words written on his body in SMF 2 and the fact he titled the song in a way that connects to Yoongi’s song. Those things are meant to be discussed, even if the fandom can’t agree on an interpretation.
On the other hand, he’s stated pretty clearly that Face Off is about a group of friends. So, I will assume that’s the case, and I look at the song through that lens. The title of the hidden track is 편지 (Dear. ARMY), so I will assume there’s a reason for that and the song can reasonably be viewed through that lens rather than a romantic one. But hey, if someone else wants to interpret either of those things differently, that’s fine too. They just have a steeper hill to climb since they have to argue against the artist’s own statements about his work.
Anyway, my point is that we should absolutely be discussing the meaning of the guys’ work. Arguing over it though? Acting like it’s clear cut? No thank you!
The ambiguity and multi-layered nature of the work is what makes it art. It’s misguided to act like the answers are easy.

hello! id like the album thingy ☺️
Send me a 🎶 and I'll match you up with an album from my collection (or just ask me to do it I'm having so much fun)
Okay so there is no rule saying I can't repeat albums, and my gut said Janis Joplin. BUT that's not fun so I thought harder about it and it's a good thing I did bc this is so much better. Patti Smith's debut album Horses
Tumblr media
Patti Smith, punk poet laureate, I don't actually listen to a lot of Julien Baker outside of Boygenius's album but between that and your love for girl!gvf (which like is you supporting a friend but also clear genuine love) I just had to give you the vaguely queer punk love of my life. Not just because both are queer but because the grittiness of both I think calls for the grittiness of Patti
So there's a lot about this album that I ADORE I think its probably top 10 albums of all time for me. We'll start with the non-music. The cover photo was taken by Robert Mapplethorpe, who was a very good friend of Patti's and also her lover for a while. He eventually comes out as gay, they stay very good friends, and he becomes an incredibly influential American Photographer. I do not recommend looking him up unless you are willing to see explicit gay BDSM photography. But I have such a soft spot for him as a historian of gay male sexual subcultures, I dedicated my masters thesis to him (and others who were involved in kink and died of AIDS)
Okay so the music
The first song "Gloria: In Excelsis Deo" is one of my favorite songs of all time. Top 10 I think. Van Morrison originally wrote the song, The Doors do a version of it. But Patti re-works the Van Morrison song and it's SO FUCKING GOOD. "Jesus died for somebody's sins, but not mine" is the best fucking lyric EVER (See what i mean about Julian Baker?)
It's not quite punk, if by punk you're thinking like The Clash or The Ramones, it's very American punk. More similar to the Velvet Underground (I'm not sure if Patti ever met Lou Reed, but she must have. They were both running in similar circles, I think Robert Maplethorpe must have been in Andy Warhol's circle even if on the very edge) But even then it's not quite that either. it's SO poetry heavy? I don't know how to explain it. If you've never listened to his album I'm begging you to.
My favorite story about Patti Smith is that one day, Allen Ginsberg mistook her for a young boy and was trying to flirt with her and then realized she was infact not a boy, but bought her dinner anyways.
