As much as I adore Celine and Pedge, The Materialist just isn’t for me. Celine is really slow paced as a director and watching Chris and Dakota attempt to act is tough. I’d rather stare directly into the sun or watch paint dry. Talk about the most uncharismatic in existence. If filming for this goes through I will have to pirate it at home with a gallon of wine.

Again, I’m still not sure if I’m gonna watch it. Pretty sure it won’t be at the movies if I do.

Do I personally think that this F4 will beat the F4 curse?

No. Marvel has been on a downward spiral since Endgame in 2019 and they are just throwing things at the wall to see what sticks. I just hope Pedro got a nice check and residuals for his time.

Now The Materialist has some potential, but Celine desperately needs to drop CE & DJ. Those two cannot act and are terrible at any onscreen romance. If The Materialist gets better casting then I think it could work.

I saw Past Lives & Challengers and loved them both. They both had great casts though. Pedro can’t be the only one carrying that project.

Does anyone else relate to this? I am not at all excited for The Materialists or F4 and wish he wouldn’t had dropped out of the other projects he was attached to, or maybe chosen other work. For example, Ripley on Netflix… could see him killing a similar role like Andrew did. Agree with you that Past Lives was not all that. However, regardless of my personal feelings, what I genuinely want is for Pedro to be happy and have the career he desires. Even if I side-eye these two projects, I’m glad he’s getting work and hopefully doing what HE wants to do (you know cause he’s a people pleaser 😉).
