steve never said it in these exact words but he was pretty sure he’d be completely lost if it weren’t for robin. maybe she called him a dingus or told him he was being stupid and maybe there was some truth to that but robin kept him honest. he might be stuck at family video, feeling like a big old loser but it felt a lot less miserable with robin there with him. leaning over the counter, steve played with a worn old tape between his palms, the day dragging on as usual. “just saying that according to our not official but official schedule, it’s my turn to pick our movie and no matter what look you give me, I’m still playing The Karate Kid again.” he waved the tape in their face and turned to slide it into the player triumphantly, only turning when he heard the squeak of the door open for the first time in a good hour. “is it just me or is it painfully quiet in here?”

it's kinda comforting to me when my friends are a little annoying or longwinded or abrasive or tired and inarticulate, or they don't do the exact politest thing in every interaction, and stuff, because I know I'm sometimes annoying, or take up a more than my share of conversational space, or forget to ask them questions, etc etc, and... like, I'm always working to be nice to my friends and to get better and better at friend-ing, but it just makes me feel more human about it :}

anyway I love you friends plz know I'm not counting, in fact I feel great affection toward you even (especially) when conversations go less than Perfectly Ideal

nightwing being hurt in the field, and over comms he can’t get out what was wrong, nearly in shock, and jason puts on his best batman™️ voice and says “robin, report.”

and it snaps dick out of it enough to say concussion, possible broken ribs, and a gash in his side.

Honestly I think it’s so funny that in the Marvel universe, when someone’s really smart, they have like eight to twelve doctorates and they finished high school at age twelve.

And then over in the DC universe it’s like. This is Tim Drake. He’s a genius. He keeps cloning his loved ones. He dropped out of highschool. Over there is Barry Allen. He can reverse engineer a spaceship in less than a minute. He is such a good chemist he’s still going to be known as the best chemist in 4,000 years. He has a bachelor’s degree.
