The sim I chose is Purnima Kamini and here she is blowing a kiss to herself in the mirror 👍

Unusually for one of my sims she wasn't born as a randomly generated townie makeover she was purpose made as a partner for Sunisa when she moved to StrangerVille in 2021.

Before she lived in San Myshuno she shared a house with Sunisa in Oasis Springs where she called herself Robita and wore a robot costume the whole time and refused to explain why.

Her favourite food is pancakes.

She was dating an alien from Sixam, her alien girlfriend is currently on a lecture tour of her home planet after completing her field trip to PlanetSim and Purnima has forgot they ever met. I like to think they will rekindle their relationship one day though 😊

After she made the mistake of inviting him round one day Raj Rasoya has become her greatest enemy.

She has an irl face prototype, but I don’t remember exactly whose appearance I used for her as a ref. 😔

Her favourite colour is dark blue, duh.

Literally almost any makeup looks good on her. With many sims it’s a struggle to find a fitting eyeliner, eyeshadows and a lipstick, but she looks almost always gorgeous in anything.

The girl is kinda old for a sim. I’ve made her in 2018. She was also my attempt at making a sim with edgier, darker style. 🤘

f1wags Yn Gasly, youngest child of the Gasly family has been spotted in a cafe in London with a guy. Since her first reappearance into the F1 world at the Bahrain paddock in 2023, she has been linked with a few drivers such as the likes of Mclaren Formula 1 Driver; Lando Norris and Ferrari hotshot Charles Leclerc. What are your thoughts on who this mystery guy is ?

Who is Yn Gasly?

The 23 year old Gasly girl is the youngest of the 5 siblings. She is currently a student at The University of Buckingham studying Marketing and Media Communications. She transferred from Universita Iulm - Communications, Media and Advertising where she had been studying the past 2 years. Her transfer to England allowed her to accompany her brother at his new Formula 1 team.

The youngest Gasly grew up alongside Charles Leclerc, Esteban Ocon and Anthoine Hubert who was her best friend. Yn has always been an avid fan of racing. She used to kart with Pierre, Charles and Anthoine. Racing was not her passion however, she was always seen in the garages of Pierre, Anthoine and Charles, cheering them on at every race. Following the lost of her bestfriend, she left the racing scene and supported Pierre and Charles from the television screen. She made a return to the paddock this season sporting the Alpine colours of Pierre’s new team.

whether it be random projects you just started and dedicate most of your time to, or tasks for work/homework for school you still need to get done; heeseung is always right by your side to help you out with whatever you need. even when you don't really tell him that you're struggling with something, heeseung grabs a chair and sits down beside you anyway - without a word, like it's a given. regardless of the fact that he might have other things he'd like (or even has) to do; helping you with whatever you need to get done with has priority now. plus, especially when he knows you're stressed, he'll try his best to help you out even more - knowing full well he doesn't actually have to and he could just let you do it yourself, since he knows you'll get it done either way. but of course, you thank him every time for it. and you make sure to thank him especially when you know it's a task he doesn't quite enjoy doing; knowing he takes time out of his day for such things makes you happy.

whenever jay finds out about another one of your favourite meals, he promises himself that he's gonna try making it - despite the fact that sometimes, he's never even heard of some of them. but even then, he will try his best so he can surprise you with it even better. because, one; they're your favourite meals. and made by jay? he knows it'll make you happy. he loves nothing more than making you happy, with literally anything - and hey, if cooking for you does the job, then he'll even spoil you with all the food he cooks. and two; if they're your favourite meals, then he might want to try them himself; possibly wanting to see why you love them so much. and who knows, maybe he'll love them as much as you! so as soon as he knows, you can bet that he'll make your favourite meals more often from time to time, knowing how happy it makes you. plus, making them more often, means he'll get to polish his skills! since everyone knows how much of a perfectionist he can be. but what makes you the happiest about it, is that now you'll have your favourite meals with jay. and what makes jay the happiest about it, are your happy reactions each time and how you genuinely enjoy it.

giving you a massage whenever you're stressed

whenever you just fall into bed and sigh, jake knows something's up. and if you don't wanna talk about it or are simply too tired, jake just asks if you want a massage and chuckles when you nod in an instant. you simply relax like you've been waiting for this all day, sometimes even going as far as falling asleep the second he's got his hands on you. jake loves making you feel good, so it's not only something he does when you're stressed; oftentimes, he'll randomly ask when you're just sitting at home, and of course, you'll randomly say yes. if it were to go after him, he could have his hands on you all the time. and if it were to go after you, you'd let him. plus, to your luck, he gives good massages. like, really good, and therefore, you could never get enough of them. it's like his hands work magic on you, and suddenly you feel so much better. a very very good thing you were lucky enough to get used to after a while.

tying / braiding your hair for you

the fact that sunghoon knows how to braid hair isn't too surprising, all things considered; so it only seems natural. yet you still can't hold in a tiny chuckle every time he braids your hair - you think it's cute, especially considering how much he loves doing it. he'll do it at any given chance, never missing a single opportunity. it's something rather small, although daily, but it makes both of you happy in a silly way. even something small as simply tying your hair for you when you're almost falling asleep, and therefore too tired or lazy to do it yourself - you appreciate the fact that he pays attention to details like that. it feels like a tiny favour he can do every now and then (quite often actually). whenever he sees you wearing your hair in a braid, - which, needless to say, he braided - he can't help but smile. even more so when you wear it throughout the whole day - although it, obviously, looks rather tacky after a while compared to how it looked in the beginning. but it's more than okay, because guess what? he's already down to braid your hair again. and additionally, you also braid some short strands of his hair just for the fun of it sometimes. because of this, he's always got at least one hair tie on his wrist - and needless to say, none of them are ever really his.

taking care of you when you're sick

you could almost call sunoo your personal nurse whenever you get sick, or just don't feel good at all. he will make sure you stay in bed so you can rest; therefore bringing everything he makes to bed so you can relax extra much. it can go from meals, additionally specific soups to make you feel better, to tea and over to hot water bottles and more - he will most definitely make sure you got everything you want. but also everything you need, for that matter; for example, sunoo always makes sure you don't skip any meals, even when you're sick and barely feel like eating. and honestly speaking, you could never resist him, not when he's there to make those meals for you. but what you probably almost love most besides his five star service, is also him always making sure to ask if you're feeling better by now, and assuring that you will get better in no time. that he loves you, and how he asks if you need anything else - like he hasn't given you the world by now. it's something you appreciate beyond words, and you can never actually thank him enough for doing everything he can just so you'll get better.

always asks how / if he can help you

maybe most people would barely notice how this became an actual thing jungwon does every time he sees you doing something, literally anything. but you did notice, and it's kinda really adorable in a way. whatever you're doing, - cooking/baking something, cleaning, doing other chores such as laundry etc, homework and what not - he always asks how or if he can help you. and if he can, he's doing it in no time. like, you'll barely have finished telling him what exactly he can help with, and he's already doing it. you'd say he's dedicated within only a second, just to help you. like mentioned, it's something rather small, - really small, most would say - but jungwon always wants to help wherever he can, and with whatever there is. and you really, really do appreciate it; despite the fact that you might already be doing something quick and easy. he loves to do things with you, even if it's something such as chores. even chores you're almost done with, for that matter; if he sees a chance, he'll take it. and hey, if you get it done faster together than you would have by yourself, maybe jungwon can even spend more time with you for the rest of the day, just enjoying your company.

tying your shoes for you

sometimes riki will notice that your shoelaces are untied before you do; meaning he'll simply stop you from walking any further and basically drop to his knees to tie them. and well, sometimes you're quite taken aback as he does it without saying much. he loves doing it for some reason - whether you're already outside and they're suddenly untied, or you're just about to leave and you (well, initially you) need to tie them. the boy will literally drop to his knees in no time, leaving you barely time to react sometimes; no matter where you are. he won't even ask whether he should do it for you, he'll just do it. but it always gets a little giggle out of you regardless - you love when he does it, so you let him. although.. at times, you wouldn't put it past him to tie your shoelaces together just to mess with you - like the menace he is (more like the menace you're hopelessly in love with, though) - however, you couldn't say you'd be surprised. but needless to say, at the end of the day you'll always let him do it, because why wouldn't you?

Sorry this has been languishing in my inbox for so long but I was devoid of inspiration- but I finally have a (new) Sim I would like to answer this for! Her name is Hil (short for Hilary) Hawkins.

Hil's pronouns are she/ her

She is employed as a gardener by Connor's parents.

Gardening is Hil's lifelong passion and also her sanity.

Hil's hero is Vita Sackville-West and the garden she created at Sissinghurst (below)

Her favourite gardening hack is to burn incense sticks every full moon to placate Erra, ancient god of pestilence. If you do this you will never have to worry about hordes of locusts destroying your roses or rats eating the heads off your dahlias ever again! (it's also an effective deterrent against the bubonic plague, smallpox, cholera, and zombie apocalypses.)

Orientation: James often makes a point of distinguishing between romantic attraction and sexual attraction. That's not without reason. Random Fact: Originally, and by that I mean, at least six real life years ago, the plan was to have Leona be the "exception to the rule." James the casanova, who never fell in love, would finally meet the one girl who found her way into his heart. But it felt wrong. This wasn't his story. It annoyed me to no end and was actually part of the reason I went on a hiatus that ended up lasting five years. But then it was James who inspired me to come back to my Sims and my story after five years away. Suddenly his story seemed so clear to me I couldn't wait to bring it alive. However, it's also his fault all those plans have gone out of the window and been replaced by an entirely (or mostly) new storyline. His character is stronger than I am, haha.

Part 1: The Timeline of The Sims

Welcome to the first entry of The Sims Mysteries! I’ve been wanting to give my take of the story of The Sims for a while, and to start a conversation with other Simmers about what their theories are for the countless lore debates that are out there. First though, here’s some context:

There’s a Sims movie in production! Margot Robbie’s production company, LuckyChap, has started work on one, which we heard about last week. I’m super excited! However it turns out, I’ve always wanted to see a live action Sims movie, and I personally have high hopes for it. So far we know the movie is not going to be largely based on the game lore, but now’s as good a time as any to give my two cents on the various inconsistencies in The Sims canon.

As with Barbie, I can imagine the movie will deviate somewhat from what the fans consider canon and will not actually focus on lore at all, but on the simulation aspect of The Sims just as how Barbie focused on the dissonance between the real world and Barbieland. Today, I’m going to start with the topic I feel most strongly about: the timeline order of The Sims. If you take away one thing from this post, let it be that the story of The Sims does not take place in alternate universes or timelines. Take a look under the cut to read my explanation!

When The Sims 4 came out, the alternate universe theory was used as the main explanation for inconsistencies in the lore, specifically regarding sims’ ages. For some reason, this explanation was set in stone as canon without question. A lot of the confusion surrounding the timeline arose due to the assumption that The Sims 4 would take place after The Sims 2; at that point the latest established point on the timeline. Also, there seems to be a figure that’s cited often whenever simmers refer to the timeline; that there are two 25 year time jumps between The Sims 3, The Sims, and The Sims 2. I haven’t been able to find a source for this fact, though. If you know where it’s from, please send a link my way! I presume that it’s not as canonical as it’s considered to be, and in any case it’s a very rigid timescale which is incompatible with the stories of most if not all sims.

I want to recognize the fact that I think The Sims 4 has started taking its lore more seriously. The story of Robert Crumplebottom turned Roberto Crinkletop shown in a promotional video for Horse Ranch is exactly the kind of small scale but significant lore that I personally love! It truly gave me an impression that the developers care about the stories of our favourite sims. Just because The Sims 4 base game is not a neat addition to the canon we all know and love, that does not mean we should resort to the alternate universe explanation. Personally, I see alternate universe explanations of lore as lazy and messy world building, at least if a story doesn’t start out with a theme of alternate universes in the first place. It just seems like a sign that the developers or writers between different entries in a franchise were not in sync with each other or didn’t care enough about the story as long as the same characters were used. In any case, it’s more challenging, and in my opinion more interesting, to put together a unified story from a franchise that is on the brink of being explained away as a multiverse.

In a sentence, since the developers didn’t give us a clean slice of lore, it’s up to us simmers to put the story together. As you may know, this is the current most popular theory of the chronological order between the mainline Sims games based on lore:

The Sims 2

(The Sims 4 outside of the timeline, in an alternate universe)

Here is what I think the timeline should be:

The Sims 2

The Sims 5?

So yes, all Sims games (including all spin-offs) are in the same canon and timeline in my eyes. The confusion comes from multiple inconsistencies introduced in The Sims 4, but as I said the main factor is the age of sims.

Originally, the main reason I was going to give for the inconsistencies in age was the Elixir of Life. We know that the Elixir of Life is an item in The Sims 2 which has the ability to prolong a Sim’s life in their current life stage, thought to be invented by Mortimer Goth. When it comes to aging inconsistencies, I think this makes for a much more elegant resolution than branching off a whole alternate universe. Anti-aging potions might not seem like a good solution for realism-oriented simmers, but at the end of the day something like an Elixir of Life is exactly in tune with the unique magical realism of The Sims.

All that considered, though, when looking at some of the staple households which appear in multiple games, there actually isn’t any aging conflict. That is, in the chronological order of games that I propose, the age of said sims progresses linearly. The issue might arise when trying to define the exact number of years passing between The Sims games, however considering that there could be different lengths of time between different entries in the franchise, it should be relatively straightforward to figure out when comparing sims’ ages against each other.

To convince you that the multiverse explanation of The Sims canon is unnecessary, I’m going to address the main reasons given in the ‘Alternate universe’ article on The Sims Wiki. Thank you to the person or people who wrote it by the way! Insofar as explaining the alternate universe it makes sense but I’m just using it as a jumping off point to explain my perspective. In the below table, the first two columns contain the conflicts in quotation marks as they appear on The Sims Wiki, while the third leftmost column is the reasons I have for the differences in the lore:

My main wish for the lore of Project Rene, or the current development of The Sims 5, is for it to be set after The Sims 2. This way, we start a new entry in the franchise with a clean slate and no confusion about the timeline. A big mistake The Sims 4 made is being afraid to show how life has gone by for our favorite sims, which just made confusion in the storyline. In fact, SimGuru Sarah said herself that it was the most flexible way to keep the most recognizable sims in the newest game. However, this made the story of The Sims 4, at least in the base game, seem stagnant. Let some of our favorite senior sims die from old age! Let our younger sims grow up and start families! Let Bella Goth grow old!

At the end of the day, we don’t need to rehash Bella’s, or anyone else’s, young adult life with new places and people, and it would be much more interesting to see how she is as an older woman, while her family matures and grows. That is, if Bella is in The Sims 5 at all! Thank you for taking the time to read my thoughts! If you have any comments please message me or reply to this post—I’d love to start a discussion! The age old debate: what happened to our Bella after that fateful night in Pleasantview? How much do we really know?

Both moms to our favorite sisters, Dina and Nina, but who is the real deal? Are they both?

(5) Agnes and Mrs. Crumplebottom

You’d be forgiven for mistaking the two, so how do we know they’re different? Is there a larger lineage of prude Crumplebottoms?

(6) MySims or OurSims?

With some of our favorite adorable MySims bridging the gap to the mainline franchise, how can we abridge their stories? What problems came up in their move to The Sims?

The Setting of The Sims

Do The Sims games take place in SimNation, or across the world on an alternate Earth? How does this Earth differ from ours?

The Teleportation of Don Lothario

When the time came for Don to reap the consequences for his streak of heartbreak, what did the women he scorned decide to do with him? How did Don end up in Riverview?

Her middle name is Eloise, after Natasha's Grandma.

She has always been a fussy eater (thanks toddler quirks) which I guess makes sense now we know she's a vampire and has no hunger need. She does miss her parents' cakes and biscuits, though.

Although she works on a LOT of skills while not sleeping every night (Valentino 2.0 I swear), video gaming is her favourite hobby and she plays online with Bunty most evenings.

Her other love is building and designing! With Lego Buildems or in the Sims, I have yet to start her on Handiness but that's probably next. She'd love to be an architect when she grows up. But seeing as that was a TS2 career not TS4 we shall have to *pretend* and just go with whatever For Rent throws my way.

She doesn't plan on settling down and having a family for a looong time. Too much to do first! And of course this is Generation 10 so who needs Generation 11 anyway? 👀

hiiiii thanks for the ask! 💗 I answered this for the usual suspects the last time it was going around, so to keep the ball rolling here are some Dawson facts ✨

I got super into figuring out all my sims' star signs recently and have determined that Dawson is an Aquarius — I feel like it really matches up with his charismatic, offbeat sense of humor, his hyper-confidence and competitiveness, his adrenaline-seeking pre-apocalypse career in pro skiing, as well as his difficulty connecting to and expressing his emotions.

Eating bugs (and anything gross, really) was one of his special skills as "one of the boys" on the playground growing up, and transferred nicely to life in the post-apocalypse.

Dawson grew up in a big, religious conservative family in Chestnut Ridge. He was never particularly invested in the belief system drilled into him as a child, and that evolved into outright rebellion as a teenager. There were some rough patches but ultimately in adulthood he was able to get to a good place with his parents and (most of) his siblings despite vast differences in beliefs and values.

Pro skiing, even at a high level, is not particularly lucrative in and of itself. He supported himself and his family through a mix of endorsement deals and sponsored content on his Simstagram, event appearances, private instructing, and, of course, the occasional windfall of prize winnings.

I didn't anticipate Cherry and Dawson being such good friends (they were so suspicious of him and just got off on the wrong foot in general) but in retrospect with their senses of humor—and Tyler so focused on life with Octavia and all the big picture stuff—it was kind of inevitable, despite their many differences.

Nationality/Ethnicity - I do NOT claim that this is at all lore accurate BUT I think of Bella as having a mix of heritage from around the Mediterranean (Mother from Cyprus, Dad from Morocco). Cassandra looks more like this side of her family rather than the ye olde white of Mortimer's family tree. With leaving the stereotypical Goth family behind Cassandra has taken more interest in her coloured ancestory, and considers herself a coloured woman.

Thank you! I felt like answering for Caleb this time. Probably some long time followers will remember some of this but I haven't talked about him in a while sooo yeah, nothing too obscure today :D

Caleb very rarely raises his voice. He's always very quiet, it's just how his voice is. He often has to repeat what he said because people didn't understand him the first time, which he hates and he's very anxious about it, but at the same time, talking louder is just so hard.

In his brief teaching era, he was really nice to his students, maybe too nice sometimes. He found it difficult to engage them in some activities and he often let it slide. They rarely misbehaved in his classes but joked about him a lot behind his back. But then there was also a small number of people who actually really liked him and his classes and felt sorry for how people viewed him. (Shoutout to my favourite uni professor, you were the goat even if you seemed like you were scared of us, you didn't deserve half the things people said about you)

He literally didn't believe in aliens until he gave birth to one. Sure, he thought there is intelligent life out there somewhere, but not that they'd be the classic Earth depiction of an alien or that they'd even want to make contact with humans, let alone pollinate them (and in his case, also fix his infertility issues by that)

Speaking of that, in the old original legacy, he eventually had twins with Rachel, it took a while, but whatever the aliens did with him, years later it kicked in and well Caleb and Rachel found the hard way lol. I'm not sure how to go about it now. Do we keep the twins even in the new canon, what do you think? I feel like I should keep them but also, I just don't know. How about them adopting instead? Or they have one biological child and one adopted -- oh hold up yeah what if they decide to adopt and then surprise, you're actually expecting too, so they end up having two kids. Or is that cheesy. Idk. I mean it's the sims so it can be cheesy I guess. Thoughts?

He's got this aura of a smart mature soft person around him, people would actually be surprised how full of swearing his inner monologue is :D They're always shocked when it comes out and he's just like -- that's normal, stop freaking out? 🤨 And then it hits him that he normally doesn't speak like that out loud.

Dan and Phil Appreciation Week Part 2: Electric Boogaloo

aka i forgot to participate in DNPAW again but also now my arm is fucked up so im just gonna type my responses instead of drawing them YAYYY shout out as always to @dpgdaily for creating this lil week event :3

Day 1: Favourite baking video

honestly probably slime and sadness cinnamon rolls, but monster pops has such a special place in my heart for being the sorta the tipping point of dnp's descent into truly unfiltered horniness, conjoined baking and pumpkin carving if that counts are also great (i just like halloween lmao)

Day 7: Your overall favourite Dan and Phil Series

HMMMM. undertale is my go-to when im particularly sad, the sims s1 is always good to put on in the background, but i think dapwepinof... the pinof reaction mini-series they did in gamingmas is prob my top fav right now. it's everything i love, it's nostalgic, it has some behind the scenes reveals, openly gay dan and phil reacting to closet dan and phil being extremely gay, and REFLECTION!!!! and like, the fact that in the silliest lil annual video series in the world there ended up being a lot of thought and care put into it in wanting to keep it as a sacred tradition for ten whole years, it went from whimsical by nature to whimsical with Purpose and finally whimsical with Love and that means so much to me, as a proponent of queer joy above all else.

Thank you so much for asking! I'm gonna do this for Gemma because she's currently my favorite sim to play with so here are five facts about her:

She does not like anything modern. Modern interior? No thanks. Electronica? Absolutely not. Media production? Not her jam at all. And it's kind of understandable, why would you need electricity and modernity when you have ✨ m a g i c ✨

She is currently very much failing at finding a date and it's not even her fault. Somehow any potential partners are either not interested or they make her miserable 😩

Nebula is her main familiar but she also has a raven that, I believe, Nebula brought back home at some point. She definitely prefers Nebula's company but the raven, called Nevar (very clever I know), goes foraging for her sometimes.

Her broom is called Boombroom and her wand is called, once again very creatively, Wandelio.

Her inventory is entirely filled with frogs that she breeds on a regular basis and she has multiple around her home as well. Because witches and frogs go together like peas and carrots 🐸

Oooh, finally! Someone sends me something related to the ask game! And about one of my favourite girls, too!

2. Favorite canon thing about this character?

If I had to choose just one, it would be how explosive she can be. I love it so much when things don't go her way and she goes from being so doting to resorting to insults and almost throwing hands. This is not simply the rage of a young woman who shows her true colours when she doesn't have what she wants, she really, really seems to be convinced that things are going her way... And then reality hits her.

5. What's the first song that comes to mind when you think about them?

Oh, Katya Ivanovna, you would have loved Me and My Husband by Mitski. Somehow I imagine the lyrics being about her and Mitya at first, but as the song goes on she's actually talking about Ivan.

7. What's something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you like?

I don't feel like Katya is talked about much in general, and I can say so confidently after navigating as much TBK related content on the internet as I could. So I don't really know what to say. When she gets attention, I specially love it when her God/saviour/martyr complex is adressed and appreciated. She is a little weird.

8. What's something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you despise?

Tough question, since there is a lot I dislike about how female characters are treated by readers in general (as well as narratives). I'm going to try to be original and say something I haven't said before. I don't really like it when the girls are pitted against each other, like you have to choose one of them or think one is better than the other. I think a lot of the animosity between her and Grusha come from struggles with themselves and their fears and insecurities, and I feel sympathetic towards both of them, both young women who want to feel some control over their lives. So it breaks my heart a little when other people who prefer Grusha put down Katya and viceversa.

12. What's a headcanon you have for this character?

This is half headcanon half character reading, but knowing that she lost her mother at a young age and that there is a theme of absent mothers throughout the book, I like to think that the loss of her mother impacted how she turned out and why she seems to take on some motherlike, overbearing tendencies herself.

14. Assign a fashion aesthetic to this character.

Hmmm, I don't know how I'm supposed to answer to this, but I associate her with elegant, long clothing in green, blue and white, sometimes with gold accessories. Combined with the light brown hair of my design, it gives her a springlike kind of look.

In The Sims, I gave her a preppy, simple look with light colours. Here she is, I don't know why she's loooking at squids on her phone.

25. What was your first impression of this character? How about now?

Katya was a character who had to grow on me. On my first read, I didn't like her much, but I didn't dislike her either. She was, in fact, one of the harder characters to visualize. I had to make several sketches of her designs because all I could think of was "tall slender girl with dark eyes and a lot of hair". Only after processing what I had read for a longer time I started to pick apart everything she said and started to appreciate her more (and started to appreciate her relationship to Ivan as well). In retrospective, the buildup to her introduction was great. It's not as good as Nastasya's, but it's the work of a good writer. I love Katya, saviour complex and all.
