We don’t exactly live in a world built for humans, do we?  There’s no guidebook for happiness or success or a sense of place in the world, and the people claiming to have one are really just trying to sell you something.  We spend most of our little lives trying to make these feelings fade away, or find something to replace them. Opening your web-browser and seeing someone who seems to have it figured out – making you feel better and entertaining you, and seeming to attract an audience on this roulette wheel of a planet – that’s powerful.  There’s someone who seems to understand what they’re supposed to be doing.  And it’s working.  That’s all anyone really wants. Sure, in retrospect, a bunch of people wanting to be exactly like the [Angry Video Game Nerd] sounds silly, but he knew who he was: he was the angriest gamer you’ve ever heard.  We can laugh -  in fact, you’re supposed to – but that’s a human being with purpose.  There’s someone who’s not anxious about their place in the world anymore.    It’s very difficult not to want that completeness for yourself.  Not to just be like someone but to be them – to attain that sense of knowing.  In real life, James Rolfe is a human being, with all sorts of problems and fears, but that doesn’t stop people from wanting to be like the person he seems: someone who knows their place in the world. […] I do worry that there are people out there who will never get the chance to become who they are because they’re too busy trying to be like someone else – who at best has it figured out for themselves just a little bit. I feel like I know who I am, and how to live my life, and that makes me feel happy and somewhat complete.  And I don’t think I’d have ever found myself if I was trying to chase someone else’s sense of completeness.  Basically, no one knows how to live your life.  And you might not either.  But the only person who’s going to figure it out is you.  And you won’t find that by trying to be ‘the next That-Person’. You can only be the first of whoever it is that you are.

Lately @threewaysdivided 's OlderBrotherDanny!AU has been occupying the majority of my brain space so I've just had to draw a few somethings for it 🥰🥰

We've been volleying ideas and headcanons back and forth about this AU and we've come to a consensus about a few significant features:

With the exception of his eyes and nose, Danny is the spitting-image of John Grayson while Dick has mostly inherited Mary's facial features

Danny and John share the Grayson family tradition of Big Bushy Brows™️

Since 3WD and I are big fans of the Danny-Has-Very-Light-Blue-Eyes train, @threewaysdivided has come up with an awesome headcanon that Danny's unusual light eye color is a weird recessive trait that pops up every few generations in the Grayson family

The reason that Danny was adopted out at birth is that he was born premature and with congenital defects that would have made it unsafe for him to be part of the troupe, least of all a traveling circus

I have to say, drawing baby Danny with his little messy mohawk has given me a lot more joy than I expected it to, I can't stop looking at it 🥺 I love looking at Brother!AUs, they never fail to make me reach for the Kleenex.

Gegen Hass und Gewalt

Tag der Zivilcourage

Auch in diesem Jahr werden wir wieder mit einem Infostand auf dem Tag der Zivilcourage am Di., den 19.9.23 auf dem Leopoldplatz in Berlin Wedding dabei sein. Mit vielen informativen Flyern zu unsern Themen und der Möglichkeit sich selbst Buttons zu machen, wollen wir die Menschen ermuntern aktiv zu werden.

Das Bundesnetzwerk Zivilcourage (BNZC) ist Träger des Tags der Zivilcourage. Der Tag der Zivilcourage findet jährlich am 19. September statt und soll die Menschen ermutigen, sich in der Öffentlichkeit für den Schutz ihrer Mitmenschen gegen Beleidigung, Diskriminierung, Bedrohung, Rassismus, Kriminalität, Fremdenfeindlichkeit und Gewalt einzusetzen.

Gegen Hass und Gewalt - für ein gemeinsames Miteinander

Zivilcourage haben wir uns auf unsere Fahne geschrieben, weil wir

mit unserem Einsatz gegen Drohnen und Krieg für ein ziviles Miteinander kämpfen,

mit unserer Arbeit für Geflüchtete den Menschen direkt helfen wollen,

uns für eine gleichberechtigte Kommunikation auch im Digitalen einsetzen mit Open Source, privatsphäreschützenden Messengern und Freifunk

Darüber werden wir am nächsten Dienstag mit den Menschen vor Ort diskutieren oder schaut in unsere Flyer. Kommt vorbei!

I finally got around to finishing my Fanfiction Appreciation Day gift for @threewaysdivided​ for her lovely and super amazing DP x YJ crossover Young Justice: Deathly Weapons. Go and read their fic and send them lots of love and cookies ❤️🍪

The first one is the new one I just finished for Chapter 18: Black Gold. In the previous art pieces I did for this story, I realized I made a grave transgression: I didn’t do any images focusing on our favorite speedster! So here’s Wally, in all his imagined glory after sucker-running(?) two henchman against the wall. Let this serve as a reminder that whatever Wally may or may not do in future chapters (side-eyes 3WD), he is still the lovable and heroic speedster that we all know and love. Remind me to never draw anything using a wide-angle lens perspective ever again.

The second image is (sort of) a happy accident! I was rooting through my hard drive the other day, looking at all of my files from the past few years, when I came across this image that I originally drew as part of the first set of images I did for YJ:DW! I have no idea why I didn’t post it along with the others, or how I could have forgotten about it, but here’s an extra super-bonus image for Chapter 6!
