Today's letter is SUPER FRUSTRATING (oh, maybe that's what it thinks about the letter F?). The more I tried to get anything out of the #ai #bot from the #dream app, it was like the more it wanted to kick me in the shins. Not the worst F on the planet, but geez, it was giving off the most ridiculous disasters on this go around. #36daysoftype #36dot #36daysoftype10 #36days_F — view on Instagram https://ift.tt/6Uc1zFr
Smith and 9th in Brooklyn, moody in the rain. I enjoy seeing trains come up out into the sunlight, but I’ve talked to a few people who’ve groaned with me about all the stairs it takes to get up and over the Gowanus. When I was drawing this one a friend told me that she was annoyed that I’d made something that made her like the F train.

Welcome to my #36DaysOfType project, Love Letters for the Subway. What’s this project about? I love working with type and I started making this set of hand-drawn, animated letters representing New York City's subway lines as a love letter to NYC. I've pulled the imagery from the neighborhoods that our trains move through, used common items in the subway as textures, and found shapes in the architecture and sights around us as we get where we're going. I've been drawing these on the trains, and other subway riders have peered over my shoulder as I work and started conversations with me about the lines they take to live, play and work and the communities we move through.
