April 27: Do you have any vocal stims or echolalia? Can you give any examples?
I don’t think I have any vocal stims, but I do have echolalia. Sometimes it’s delayed, but most of the time it’s me repeating something I was just told. For example, the other day one of my managers asked me to meet him in aisle 4 and I responded “aisle 4.” I’ll do this for any instructions I’m given. For my delayed echolalia, I’ll be sitting at home, and I’ll start quoting movie or tv lines that I heard a while ago. One of my most common ones is “Yes Alonzo. Is that what you’re doing out there?” It’s a quote from The Blacklist and I’ll say it for no reason. I’ll also make random sounds either right after I hear them or as a delayed response. Cat meows are my most common ones. I also like to sing.

30 Days Of Autism Acceptance 2019: April 23rd!
For day 23 of @autie-jake’s tag I’m going to talk about my stim toys!
The majority of stim toys I own are from @stimtastic and I love them! I bought two chew toys which are the shark and the pink pendant and I also bought a squishy putty ball.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I have a lot of sensory lights because I find them super stimmy and calming. One of these is a fibre optic lamp which is sensory heaven!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I also have a lot of fidget toys such as fidget cubes, fidget spinners, tangles and stress balls. I take these out with me a lot because they keep me distracted which helps with my anxiety.

30 Days of Autism Acceptance 2019: Day 1
April 1st: Introduce yourself. Talk about who you are as a person.
Hello! Let me introduce myself: my name is Jake, I'm 25 years old, and I'm autistic. I also have ADHD. I was diagnosed as autistic when I was a child. I started my blog about two and a half years ago in October 2016. At the time I just created the blog on a whim with the vague intention of talking about what it's like to be autistic. And I honestly believe that was one of the best decisions I've made in my life. When I created my blog a couple years ago, I discovered a wonderful and accepting community. For the first time in my life I had people who's experiences were similar to my own and I found people that I could connect with.
I have a deep love for animation, especially cartoons. My two current special interests are The Simpsons and Steven Universe. I love both these shows so very much. I also really love being able to use my blog to help people and educate others about autism.
I like to think of myself as a friendly person so I hope people feel like they can talk to me. Feel free to send me an ask or a message if you ever want to say something to me! :)

It’s april and it’s now the beginning of the autism acceptance month. As such, I’ll try to follow this post of @autie-jake as closely as possible : https://autie-jake.tumblr.com/post/183851563692/30-days-of-autism-acceptance-2019
So, day 1 :  Introduce yourself. Talk about who you are as a person.
So, I’m known as Ladyautie on this platform. I used to be Ladyaspie, but I changed to LadyAutie when I stopped using the Aspergers diagnosis to talk about myself and my autism.
My first name is Sophie. I’m french, but I’m closer to the english autism community than the french one, because they tend to be aspie supremacist and anti self-dx, which I am not.
I’ve been officially diagnosed as autistic last year, but I started to self-diagnose when I was 16. I always felt like I was different, without being able to really now why until I came across the english wiki page on autism and the autism community on tumblr.
I’m a librarian and I struggled a lot to get a job. I’ve been discriminated in the past and I sincerely hope it won’t happen again. I love being a librarian, working with books, DVDs and CDs and so on. One of my purposes as a librarian is to offer diverse content to our patrons and open their mind to new content.
I’m 25, 26 this year, but it’s hard for me to consider myself as a grown-up. I’m struggling with a lot of stuff and I’m hoping I’ll get better at managing myself in the future.
Happy autism acceptance month !

30 Days of Autism Acceptance 2019 - Day 18
Talk about your autistic headcanons.
First I automatically headcanon every character I relate to has being autistic either I have proof in the canon or not.
But with that said, for my absolute favorite autistic headcanon I have a lot of proof. :)
And my favorite autistic headcanon is KARA DANVERS !
Tumblr media
As I already talked about that I really think that being autistic in this neurotypical world is very similar to being an alien in a human world.
Kara experiences the world differently than humans.
She sees things most people can see and hear everything louder, which can be overwhelming a lot of times.
She also suffers from being hyper empathetic, which cause her to feel guilty over things she has no reason to feel guilty about.
She sometimes struggles with social cues.
She can have meltdowns and shutdowns and it's seems that only Alex can calm her down when it's happening.
She does a lot of stimmy stuffs.
Tumblr media
http://autistickryptonian.tumblr.com/post/154143318686/kara-danvers-is-autistic.  This post did a better job than me at pick-up her autistic traits so check it out.
Tumblr media
Whatever, KARA DANVERS IS AUTISTIC and no one can convince me otherwise.

Day 1
Hey. Hi. Y’all know me. I go by Luna.
I’m an actress. I’m a writer. I’m a singer. I’m a nerd. I’m a fangirl. I identify as a Ravenclaw. I’m a fucking mess sometimes. I love animals.
What else do you need to know?
IDK if I’ll keep up-to-date on this, but I’ll try.

Day 15: Free day! Write about whatever you want.
I’m using last year’s answer because I forgot to pre-write my response for today’s prompt yesterday 🙃 I’m going to write about how Disneyland is pretty good inclusive/accommodating to those with autism! They aren’t “autism friendly,” but compared to other theme parks, they ARE better than most. Here’s my personal experiences:
For those of you who have never been, Disneyland is nothing but people, crowds, loud sounds, bright lights, and different smells. It’s sensory hell for anyone who has SPD (such as me).
*I have to wear noise cancelling headphones because there is too much noise going on (between people talking, music blaring and attraction sounds), it’s too much for me to handle without the headphones on. I’d have a headache within a couple hours without them. While ALL lose items are to be stored while on most of the rides, I get to keep my headphones on on every single one of them...no questions asked or special pass needed. They don’t block 100% of the noise, but they DO cancel 95% it and I can still communicate with Cast Members.
* Character experiences. I have a touch aversion BUT I also have social anxiety which makes it extremely difficult for me to talk to people. I know I can let a Cast Member know I don’t want to be hugged or touched too much by the characters and the message will be relayed to the characters. It’s a lot harder with the non-verbal characters because they just kind of do their own thing and sometimes a Cast Member isn’t right there. There’s photos of me with Tigger and Pooh and the look on my face says it all. Major anxiety. With the people characters, it’s a lot easier to let someone know about my aversion to touch. When I approach, I’m slow in doing so and I’m gaurded. None of the princesses, Anna and Elsa or Tinkerbell hugged me or touched me. When I met Captain America and Captain Marvel, I let the Cast Members know I didn’t want my hand shaken or anything and the characters made sure not to touch me. My picture with Captain America is us standing backpack to back (instead of the typical arms linked pose he was doing with everyone else). It’s the simple things that matter.
* Their shirts are tag free! I can wear a shirt right away after buying it and not have to cut tags out.
* I have the option of getting DAS, which is a disability pass that gives me priority boarding for attractions. I decide not to get it when I go because because the process is time consuming (for me, anyway) and I am able to stand in line without issues.

30 Days Of Autism Acceptance 2019: April 4th!
For day 4 of @autie-jake’s tag I’m going to talk about things I wish people knew about autism!
1. Autistic people have emotions. We’re not emotionless robots like we’re portrayed as in the media and in fact a lot of autistic people experience hyper-empathy.
2. Low empathy doesn’t make someone a horrible person. Empathy is the ability to understand someone’s emotions and be able to “put yourself is someone else’s shoes”. Believe it or not it’s possible to care about people and show sympathy towards them without understanding exactly what they’re feeling.
3. Not all autistic people are geniuses and we don’t all have amazing abilities. This doesn’t make us any less valid or worthy and neurotypicals need to stop determining our worth by our abilities to function “well” in society.
4. The majority of autistic people enjoy being autistic and don’t want a cure. Autism is not a disease or illness and it doesn’t need to be cured.
5. Autism is a disability. Disabled is not a dirty word and if shouldn’t be seen as something horrible or scary. Being disabled is nothing to be ashamed of.
6. Functioning labels are harmful and inaccurate. “High functioning” is used to dismiss autistic people and “low functioning” is used to demean autistic people. We’re not fish that you can put into boxes and stick a label on, every autistic person experiences different things and the spectrum is not as simple a line with two ends.
7. Autistic children grow up and become autistic adults. Autism doesn’t magically disappear the day they turn 18.
8. Vaccines do not cause autism!!! And even if they did being autistic is better than being dead!!!
9. Autism is an integral part of what makes us who we are. Some people believe that by “removing” autism from us or “treating/curing” it we’d be better versions of ourselves when in reality we’d be completely different people.
10. “Therapies” used to treat autism are abuse and completely abhorrent. All they do is cause trauma, especially to autistic kids. And for the last time autism doesn’t need treating or curing!!!

30 Days of Autism Acceptance: Day 5
April 5th: Talk about how/when you were diagnosed.
So this is probably going to be a short one as I don't have a lot I can say on this. I was really young when I got diagnosed so I don't remember what it was like or the process. I was five years old when I got diagnosed as autistic. I don't really have any memories of the doctor's appointment.
Even though I had a diagnosis since childhood, for some reason it wasn't until I was a teenager that I started to learn more about what it means to be autistic. And it wasn't until at least five years ago that I began to accept myself as an autistic person.

30 Days of Autism Acceptance; Day 15
Free day! Write about any topic you want!
Free day??? Time to infodump about my special interests!!
Recently I started talking to this girl at school that loves Undertale and I'm just GSJSKSKE so happy because I have someone to infodump to that won't get annoyed or bored!! ó,wò
But ye, I'm probably gonna talk about how I headcanon Papyrus and Alphys as autistic :v
Papyrus
For many different reasons, I can see Papyrus being on the spectrum. He's eccentric and hyperverbal, and he (possibly) stims on occasion. He uses a large vocabulary and speaks in an old-fashioned manner (which can be related to autism).
He always wears the same outfit (although it's implied that he's stuck in it). I'd say his samefood is spaghetti but according to the game he's never actually eaten it. He has a distaste for other foods like Grillby's. (Does he even eat???)
His room is organized and his mailbox is always empty, compared to his brother's, whose is overflowing. He seems to value tidiness and often criticizes his brother for being lazy and messy.
(Also I want to mention that he has a very advanced book on puzzles, and right next to it is a children's book called "peek-a-boo with fluffy bunny." it's just relatable to me.)
When doing new things, such as being a host or dating, he always follows a rulebook. Now I'll list some special Interests and stims. Most are canonical, a few stims are not. :0)
Special Interests
Puzzles
- has a variety of puzzles for you to solve and excitedly explains the instructions to each
- has a preferred puzzle (junior jumble) and doesn't understand the preference of another (word search)
Mettaton
- refers to MTT's show as his favorite show
- tries to show you MTT's show, and when an error screen comes on, he says "this is just a bad episode! don't judge me!!"
- hates hotland but suddenly wants to live there to see MTT
- when dating Papyrus, he uses multiple MTT brand products mid-battle
Stims
stomps his foot when angry at his brother
echolalia; alliterates when describing himself such as "powerful! popular! prestigious! that's Papyrus!"
(not canon) happy flappy!
(not canon) enjoys spinning with arms out
Alphys
Alphys seems to struggle a lot with socializing. She can communicate, but does so awkwardly and with a mild stutter. However, if you get her to talk about the right thing, she could go on and on about it confidently.
She always wears a lab coat, save for the special polka-dotted dress she wears for dates. I'd say that her samefood would be ramen (which, same, in the past :p).
She spends a lot of time in her lab, researching or partaking in her interests.
Special Interests
Anime; specifically Mew Mew Kissy Cutie
- literally infodumps the entire plot to you after asking if you wanted to watch it
- posters and merch everywhere
Technology and Science
- built a robot to house a soul
- royal scientist
- experimented on amalgamates and had a crisis when it failed
(anime) Humans
- has a ton of mangas on "human history"
- stalks you through cameras when you arrive in snowdin
- obsessed with being a part of your journey
Stims
Taps feet when nervous
(not canon) chews claws and tail
(not canon) flaps hands
(not canon) thumps tail on ground
(not canon) spinning in roll-y chair
I need to sleep lmao

30 Days of Autism Acceptance 2019 - Day 17
Talk about your favorite canonical autistic character.
Tumblr media
For me, I think the best canonical autistic character is Billy Cranston from the 2017 movie "power ranger"
He is the first autistic superhero and for every autistic who are passionate about superhero that's a huge thing.
One of my favorite scenes of the movie is when he said to Jason that he is on the spectrum, and Jason response was so amazing, like, he doesn't care at all about that, he just accepts Billy as he is.
Tumblr media
One of the things I love is that autism is not portrayed as being a bad dramatic thing, it's the opposite actually, because being autistic is what makes Billy solve  problems no ones else can't solve.
The thing I love the most about the character and the movie in general is the fact that Billy doesn't have to change to fit amongst the others rangers. He is accepted for exactly who he is and that's so beautiful to see.
Tumblr media
Let's hope for more representation like Billy in the future, that's what we all deserve.
