HP Rec Fest - Day 16

Fest - @hprecfest Theme - A fic that made you laugh

Snarry is complicated/messy/angsty. But also funny! Lots of Snarry fics are really funny deconstructions of some super popular tropes during the eras they got written. Today I got ten Snarry fics that made me laugh. Nobody asked me for a list but I made one anyway because Snarry!!!

D for Defender by Amand_r. Bat Snape forever <3

There's a man stalking the Wizarding world. Or a bat. Maybe a Man-Bat. Severus is probably having an affair, Harry's tired all the time, oh, and those drunks out in East Anglia are complaining about the green lights. Again.

The GL, Oder Der Giftige Lautsprecher, nicht wahr? by Rakina. Snape is a dick shaped plant. Literally.

This looked something like a round gourd, bulbous and flushed red. As Harry stared at it he realised the gourd's shape was alarmingly testicular, and the dusting of dark bristles over its surface did nothing to lessen the resemblance.

Better Homes and Dungeons by abstractconcept. Relationship problems because Snape and Harry of course are awful at communication.

“He’s bored with me,” Snape said despondently. “Naturally,” Draco replied, draining his gin and tonic. “You don’t throttle him nearly enough.” He poured himself another glass. “Learn to keep your relationship more exciting. Break out the whips more often.”

Sheer Dumb Luck by rexluscus. Of course the best solution to win the war is screwing Snape. Literally. Also in other ways.

For once, Harry and Voldemort want the same thing, and they want it from Snape.

Fall into Charybdis by Nimori. Dirtybadhotwrong. Also funny!

"Of course." Harry waited until the floo whooshed, then rounded on Snape. "What are you playing at, you greasy prick?" "I think you should call me Dad," Snape said, examining his nails.

Protosnape by suitesamba. Snarry authors also write non dirtybadhotwrong. Sorry if my recs gave you the wrong impression at any point. This one is wholesome and funny!

When WWW decides to add Headmaster Snape to their Wizarding Heroes Action Figure line, Harry begins a correspondence with Snape’s cousin to iron out the details of the prototype. Albert Prince Jr. has some very specific ideas, and Harry soon finds himself counting buttons and measuring cauldron bottoms in a bid to get the action figure to market, and to find out a bit more about this mysterious cousin.

Great Liars, Great Magicians by LoupGarou. BACK TO THE DIRTYBADHOTWRONG.

Dumbledore forces Harry to bond with Snape, who demands an heir, but when Harry announces his pregnancy, Snape doesn't believe him. The road to hell may be paved with good intentions, but the path to love is strewn with sex, lies, and manipulations.

A Tolerable End to an Unfortunate Situation by who_la_hoop. Of course Snape doesn't stay dead. Of course he is a problem.

When a dead, naked Snape enters the Great Hall – resurrected from the dead and out for Harry Potter's blood – it's the start of a whole new set of problems for the reluctant hero of the wizarding world.

Pink Slip by Cluegirl. Voldemort wins and ofc Harry is tortured. Really tortured :D

It is a long-held tradition for the children of one's enemies to be fostered in one's own household in order to enforce both sides' adherence to a treaty of peace. Harry doesn't find much comfort in the peace that has been bought with his freedom, but he's just a Fosterling in the house of Malfoy -- his only avenue of complaint lay with his Welfare Overseer, one Severus Snape.

Unexpected by Seeker. Snape gets deaged and everybody exploits that. Really exploits him :D

Thirty years as a Death Eater cum double agent and it came down to this.

Snarry-a-Thon 2010 Recs

Snarry-a-Thon is an annual fest of Snarry goodness that always brings so much creativity and joy in the Snarry community. I am forever blown away by how much talent and passion Snarry-lovers have. With that in mind, I wanted to create some special recs for a fest near and dear to my heart.

With that, here are my Top 5 picks for the 2010 fest! But first...

Disclaimer: my rec lists are created based on my personal experiences and preferences. There are plenty of other stories and authors who are quite good and deserve just as much love. This is not meant to be an objective “best of the best” list, but the subjective opinion of a longtime reader and fangirl.

Snape discovers Harry has an unusual fetish and sets out to indulge it. How far will he go to keep his man satisfied? Pretty damned far, as it turns out.

Ladyhawke

by crimson_vipera. Rated: E. Words: 30,000+.

Prompt: #24. Ladyhawke Snarry: Voldemort rules the Wizarding world. After finding out about his second in command's betrayal and love for his enemy, he cursed the lovers. Harry becomes a hawk during the daytime while Snape becomes a wolf during the night. They are eternally apart and only see each other for the briefest of moments during sunset and sunrise, and even then they do not have time to touch. When they come in contact with a third person (Teddy?) they have finally the chance to talk through an intermediary and form a plan to destroy Voldemort

Unnatural Desires

by IvvyMoon. Rated: E. Words: 12,385. Mildly dubious consent. Bottom Severus. Parseltongue kink. Magical accidents.

Written for the prompt: Harry has some kind of accident and can only speak in Parseltongue, which drives Snape mad with desire. Can be taken seriously or as crack, with Snape jumping Harry every time he says something.

1. A post-canon fic

The Discreet Gentleman's Connection by pluto (gayrights420) [Drarry, E, 80.4k] 🌼🔥 I had the absolute pleasure of beta-ing for this fic, so when I say it is amazing, it truly is just that. Fast burn on the smut via Floo sex, slow burn on the in-person falling in love. Satisfying in all the best possible ways.

2. A fic that made me laugh

AITA for being "obsessed" with my childhood nemesis? by @rainstormradish [Drarry, M, 4.3k] 🌼📲 Draco on a reddit forum is hilarious just on its own, but the banter and formatting really bring this fic to life. Amazingly creative, had me in stitches!

3. A comfort fic

The Eighth Tale by @letteredlettered [Drarry, E, 12.0k] 💔⏳ An oldie but a goodie. I constantly find myself coming back to this fic and having my mind blown every single time. Time travel timey-wimey angst.

4. A fic with art

Dating Draco - A Visual Game by @itsphantasmagoria [Drarry, M, Video Game] 🌼🎮 This is a fic in video game form!! Amazing art and lovely story where YOU get to make the choices for Drarry's happily ever after.

5. A favorite series

The Journal of Dreadful Things by @lilbeanz [Drarry, G, 112k, WIP] 🌼📖 Hilarious, witty, AND COMES WITH ART!! Lilbeanz draws and writes a wonderfully delightful series starting from Draco's First Year. His characterization had me in hysterics. Book 4 is starting soon!

Moonstruck by @prettyremus [Wolfstar, E, 3.8k] 🔥🐺 Found this gem while scrolling through the werewolf smut tag (don't judge me). I love the switch in dynamic with Sirius taming Remus's wolf through, ahem, rough sex.

7. An unreliable narrator fic

Sea of White by @dividawrites [Harrymort, E, 8.6k] 🔥🤍 Deliciously hot, creepy, and strangely sweet. Love their dynamic here, the unrestrained lust. Harrymort "die" and lose their memories, so, of course, then they bang.

8. A fic that made me cry

Far Apart, Far Away by @unmistakablyoatmeal [Hinny, minor Drarry, T, 1.6k] 💔💍 Infidelity angst has never been this good. I love the layers of emotion in this fic. Quick punchy sections that really pulled me in.

9. A Muggle(?) AU fic

Pleasant Hope by @ac1d6urn, @sinick [Snarry, E, 41.6k] 💔⛪️ Pastor Severus!! The angst, pining, and self-discovery in this fic is superb! I love the interwoven magic and detailed world-building of this little town.

The Last Trial of Peter Pettigrew by @sleepstxtic [Prongstail, M, 20.8k] 💔 🐀 Holy moly, this fic!!!! Is this my new favorite fic?? Possibly. The concept is brilliant, so creative and nuanced. The Peter character study using outsider perspectives is genius. Seamlessly balances canon and new scenes.

11. A pre-canon fic

Careless by @tax-onomic [Luther, E, 1.5k] 🔥🪞 Lucius/Arthur my beloved rare pair!! I am captain of the Luther ship, and Tax's fic hits all the right spots. The pining, the sniping, the prickly personalities with emotional vulnerability underneath! And all in the middle of a hot smut scene. Perfect.

12. A canon-compliant fic

Scottish by thepadfoots [Chedric, G, 749] 💔🌟 Lovely Cho character study focused around her Asian identity and the boy she loved.

13. A fic rated G (more like T though)

Lion-Hearted Girl by MinnieQuill (odainath) [Minmione, G, 4.5k] 💔🦁 I know the large age gap might scare some, but their relationship feels very organic in this fic. The setting is grim, but there is always hope in the darkness!

14. A fic rated T

You're So Vane by @patriceavril [Romelina, T, 6.8k] 🌼💄Romilda is so delightfully characterized, I was smiling through the entire fic. Angelina is the perfect foil (and love interest) to Romilda's attentions.

15. A rare pair fic (less than 2000 fics on AO3)

Snakeskin by @cntrl15 [Bellastoria, E, 3.7k] 🔥👠 Talk about a rare pair! Astoria/Bellatrix only has 2 tagged fics on AO3: this fic and the drabble I wrote based on it. But read this fic, and you'll see why I felt the need to write more in this universe.

Master of None by @nanneramma [Snormac, G, 5.5k] 🌼🧘 Severus is so wonderfully cranky, and Cormac is fine AF. The surprise pairing of 2023 that I never knew I needed and now I'm obsessed with!

17. An under-rated fic

Sun, Shadow, Shade by @naomijameston [Snuna, G, 700] 🌼☀️ Post-war fluff. Sunshine Luna is the perfect match for sullen Snape. A short and sweet fic for this underrated ship.

18. A canon-divergent fic

but somebody's gotta do it by nocturn [Pangulus, T, 920] 😄🧟‍♂️ This fic will make you say WTF but also huh, okay that totally works. The concept is WILD but Lyra executes it wonderfully. Pansy drags Regulus out of the inferi lake and they flirt a little while he gets de-corpsified lol.

19. A dark fic

In his embrace by @loneamaryllis [Snarrymort, het!Snarry, E, 48k] ⚡️👀 Dark and dirty but so so good. A Voldemort Wins AU where fem!Harry is taken as prisoner. Snape's mindset as he tries to save her (and is forced to rape her) is so twisted and mesmerizing. Mind the tags!

20. A thought-provoking fic

Icarus by @thistlecatfics [Millvansy, M, 20.0k] 💔🍾 War trauma, addiction, codependency! This fic is messy with emotions but has a strong, beating heart underneath. I am in love with Parvati as she deals with Pansy's addiction and Millicent's denial — three beautiful, imperfect girls.

21. A holiday fic

A Time, Dark and Divine by @moonflower-rose [Dronarry, E, 17.0k] 🔥⛱ HOLY FREAKING FUCK!! The sexual tension in this fic is off the freaking charts. Drarry seducing Ron while on vacation in Portugal. Sign me the fuck up!

Through the Middlegame by @sandervansunshine [Astoria & Peter, T, 6.6k] 💔♜ Devastating, heart-wrenching, tragic. 10000% would recommend. Kylee has already heard me screaming in the servers about this fic. If I could get a fic tattooed straight onto my brain, this would be it.

12. A WIP you’re following : Pacify by @chickenpets (Snarry, E, ongoing)

Pacify: 1. To allay the anger or agitation of 2. To reduce to a submissive state He would do his duty. He would save Draco, if he could. He would protect the students, if and when the school fell to the Deatheaters. And Potter. As far as he was concerned, Potter could have whatever he wanted, now. What was the point of trying to tell him no if he was going to be sacrificed on the pyre of the greater good? If Potter wanted to learn, Severus would be his teacher. If he wanted a master, then Severus would make him submit. And if he wanted a lover... well. Severus would love him. And that was it. Anything else was a waste of time. And there was so little of that.

Draco is a high-end prostitute who hides his identity. Harry unknowingly hires him. And then there is porn, questions about identity, domestic bliss, more porn, and truth as seen through a web of lies. (And then more porn. Love...hate...Harry and Severus definitely hate each other (if only because they love each other so much.)

Harry had a life after Voldemort. He had a family. He had a career. And then one day it was all ripped away when he woke up at Number 4 Privet Drive. Or: Where Harry doesn’t exactly get that chance to do it over again. And things are Not Okay.

16. A fic that made you laughed: Harry Potter and the Problem with Potions (Harry & Snape, T, 184k)

Once upon a time, Harry Potter hid for two hours from Dudley in a chemistry classroom, while a nice graduate student explained about the scientific method and interesting facts about acids. A pebble thrown into the water causes ripples. Contains, in no particular order: magic candymaking, Harry falling in love with a house, evil kitten Draco Malfoy, and Hermione attempting to apply logic to the wizarding world.

A series of works surrounding death, imperfect relationships, flawed coping, and humanity.

Harry, Snape, and the grim old house that keeps its secrets.

Severus didn’t even want to contemplate how quickly he’d crumbled, or how incredibly satisfying it felt to have Potter immobilized and powerless that way. Because the boy he had under his fist right then was not the same one that had barged into his lab demanding attention and slinging insults. This boy was… different. He was silent, and wide-eyed. To avoid the machinations of the Ministry, Harry must marry a reluctant Severus Snape. But marriage to Snape is only the beginning of Harry's problems. Voldemort has returned, and before too long Harry's marriage may determine the world's fate.

23. A soulmate fic : The Left Words (Harrymort, M, 234k)

Harry has some weird words on his left wrist. That must be one of those strange things that Aunt Petunia hates so much. But it's okay! He likes them. Then, it all turns even weirder. Hogwarts, magic, a Headmaster and a Dark Lord await Harry - he would prefer if they all just left him alone, thank you very much. But when has it ever mattered what Harry wants?

24. A holiday fic: All I Want for Christmas (is for You to Stop Talking) by @femmequixotic and noeon (Drarry, E, 162k)

The Niffler's Garden is the most prestigious wizarding nursery school in England and has been for the last century or more. Harry Potter's boys are both enrolled as pupils at the Garden. When he volunteers to assist with the Yule pageant, he has no idea that he'll be working closely with another parent, Draco Malfoy. Although they haven't seen each other much since their own school days, Harry faults Malfoy for not being a hands-on dad to little Scorpius. Will the intense weeks of preparation fan the fires of enmity or something else entirely?

Tom Riddle has a problem. He has so many plans, so many things to learn and accomplish during his time at Hogwarts, but one professor—one charming, talented, maddeningly handsome professor—is determined to get in his way. How does Professor Potter seem to anticipate Tom's every move? How does he always manage to stay several steps ahead, knowing secrets about Tom he has no right knowing? It’s simply unacceptable, and Tom needs to do something about it before everything is ruined.

A Gothic Snarry version of ‘Beauty and the Beast’, inspired by the dark and sensual tale from the Czech film version, ‘Panna a Netvor’. I follow some of the plot, but then diverge and do my own thing. Got to make it even weirder, right? An eerie, erotic, brooding, bloody, batty, haunting fairytale. ‘Underneath my skin there’s a human. Buried deep within there’s a human. Despite everything, I’m still human.’ - ‘Human’ by Daughter

27. A Muggle-AU fic : with great outbursts and lightnings by @liladiurne (Snarry, E, 148k)

They stand there for a moment, just looking at each other. Harry has developed smoking to an art form that fascinates Severus. Everyone smokes in Paris, but he’s never taken up the habit himself. Watching Harry smoke, however, is strangely erotic. It feels like watching something that ought to be done in private. He wants to say something, anything, but he’s speechless. He’s a bloody poet, and here he is, standing speechless in front of a nineteen-year-old boy. March, 2013. In which Severus is a semi-famous poet with writer's block who moves back to London after the death of his lover and meets Harry, a prodigy struggling with his own demons.

29. A post-canon fic : Soup-pocalypse and the Great Curry Cataclysm (Drarry, E, 104k)

Eleven years after the war, Draco Malfoy leads a quiet, boring, and perfectly respectable life, thanks very much. Or, at least he does, until a sudden and very unexpected veela awakening causes him to throw soup all over Harry Potter in the middle of the Ministry cafeteria.

After Voldemort's first defeat, Snape's grief and guilt are overwhelming, and he starts thinking about ending it all. But there's someone in the castle who's been watching Snape since he was a child, someone determined to put him back together again.

Today’s is hands down of my favourite prompt from @hprecfest, what a banger! I love being wowed by thought-provoking fics and it was a pleasure to reread these two all-time favourites for this post. I really hope more people will feel intrigued enough to check these out! On a side note, I won’t be posting any recs for tomorrow’s prompt (day 22: a fic that hasn't been updated in 10 years or author stated it was abandoned) as I haven’t read unfinished works in years and I completely lost track of the ones I’ve read in the pre-AO3 era. why yes, I’ll be screaming about BB and this particular fic until the end of times, thank you very much :))) this is easily the most thought-provoking fic I’ve read in the HP fandom and remains (frighteningly so) current and relevant despite having been written well over a decade ago. the world building is phenomenal, my jaw dropped as I was introduced to this fascinating post-war dystopia full of disturbing political allegories. it’s brilliant and depressing all at once. my heart belongs to this redeemed Draco who’s so capable and tough, trying to do the right thing for once; his chemistry with Harry is instant and deliciously uncomplicated, but a war romance is inherently angsty and this will tug at your heartstrings. so many feels! I loved seeing Draco’s side relationship with Ernie, the trust and camaraderie between them is sooo good. Draco’s character development is truly fascinating to watch and believe me when I say you are not prepared to face this thrilling yet devastating ending. it will make your heart race and blow your mind just like the rest of this witty, fierce and sophisticated commentary. an epic classic that definitely deserves more love and more obsessed readers to join me and @tackytigerfic 🤝

Help Wanted: God and Executioner by pir8fancier (Snarry, E, 20k)

The war is raging on and Harry learns that there are no right choices.

yet another grim and brilliant wartime fic, this one delves deeper into the brutal reality of war tragedy and loss. love the poignant dialogue, so very honest and in character, and the way the sexual tension builds urgent and insistent but still organically. there’s so much going on, so much hurt and grief all around, that seeing Harry and Snape disconnect and find comfort in stolen moments before (or more likely after) the storm hits is very cathartic. I loved getting immersed in their dynamics and conversations. the dialogue is so good but I must remind you that this is not a happy fic, although it has its tender moments. Harry’s loneliness and search for punishment are devastating but there’s also understanding, intimacy and worshipping sex (!) which is everything we want and need. if you’re a Snarry fan I highly recommend giving this a try and then checking all of pir8fancier’s catalogue bc they’re a fabulous author!

A short fic that's packed full of feels and awesomeness. Harriet gets sorted into Slytherin and that changes everything. I love the writing style of that fic!

Day 2: A comfort fic

Succor by pluperfectsunrise (Fem!Harry/Snape, E, 40k)

One of the first Fem!Harry/Snape fics I read, and I keep coming back to it. It's a soulmates fic that spans the entirety of canon. I love the way their relationship evolves over the years, and I especially like the say the author writes the intimacy between Harriet and Snape.

Day 4: A fic with art

The Curse of Anteros by @danpuff-ao3, illustrated by @mrviran (Harry/Snape, E, 53k)

This fic is such a whirlwind of tight, exquisitely crafted writing and all the Snarry feels one could want. Plus extra hot smut! And the art is incredible. Harry and Snape have to defeat a curse while also dealing with their attraction to each other... I don't want to say more, you should definitely go read the fic!

Day 6: An unreliable narrator fic

Forget-me-not by Elffaw (Harry/Snape, M, 1,5k)

The atmosphere in this fic is so ominous. When reading, you *know* something is wrong, and you keep wondering what until you reach the end... The author did such a good job at crafting the mystery!

Day 7: A canon-compliant fic

Year of the Thestral by @perverse-idyll (McGonagall/Snape and McGonagall/Hooch, E, 115k at the moment with two more chapters planned)

Let's say canon-compliant-ish? There's nothing in canon that says it couldn't have happened... This fic is a brilliant exploration of Snape's last year, with incredible writing and the best Snape descriptions I've ever had the pleasure to read. It's dark, it's harrowing, it's funny at times, and it will twist your soul into bits and leave you wanting more.

Day 8: A canon-divergence fic

Epitaph by sheswayout (Fem!Harry/Snape, M, 22k for now with more chapters planned)

Fem!Harry so obviously canon-divergent, and then Snape lives and Harriet starts visiting him in the hospital. It's a fic that looks at what happens in the wake of war, and how Snape and Harriet can go forward and perhaps do so together. It's soft and calm and self-reflective, and I love it.

Day 9: A rare pair fic (less than 2000 fics on AO3)

A Most Unexpected Turn of Events by @hirukochan (Fem!Harry/Snape/Voldemort, E, 62k with more chapters planned)

The perfect threesome. No, you can't change my mind. Hiruko is great at writing complex characters and hot smut, and this fic is a stellar example of both!

Day 10: A fest fic

Predetermined by brightened (Snape/Harry, E, 9k)

This fic features Snape as a smut writer, and just for that you should read it. It also has excerpts of the books Snape is writing, creating a narrative within the narrative, and it's so much fun to read!

Harry Potter Rec Fest Day 26 - an ending you can't stop thinking about

Thinking about a fic after you finish reading it is, I believe, one of the highest compliments an author can be paid. I read/listen to a lot of fic, but here are a few for @hprecfest Day 26 that stick out in my memory.

the dogfather by @nonasuch Pairing: none Word count: 47,681 Rating: T

Fix-its are, of course, always refreshing, but this one stuck out to me particularly. It's funny, and sweet, and moves quickly, but it perfectly captures how much harm could have been prevented if a few small things had changed. I don't want to spoil anything, but imagine if canon were less than 50K words ...

The Inconvenient Death(s) of Harry Potter by @nv-md Pairing: Draco x Harry Word count: 33,105 Rating: E

Harry and Draco have spent the decade since the War avoiding each other, even as they’re forced to work together at the Ministry and their friend groups begin to alarmingly overlap. But what happens when Harry meets a tragic end (in a manner of speaking) and Draco’s the only one who can save him? Or Harry won’t stop dying, Draco’s had too much coffee, and there’s more than enough time for them to make a mess of each other’s lives.

I'm partial to time loops because I love Prisoner of Azkaban and Doctor Who. I think it shows a certain kind of creativity to be able to imagine the same basic events in a variety of different ways and bring them to a satisfying conclusion. This story ups the ante by having Draco try to prevent Harry's death.

Connecting Lines, Connecting Crimes by @sleepstxtic Pairing: Draco x Harry Word count: 15,216 Rating: M

I already piled on @xanthippe74's rec of this fic here, but I simply can't stop gushing about this story. Suffice it to say, this work is so clever in the way it uses magic to demonstrate the power imbalance between so-called "developed" and "developing" nations, especially with regard to the environment. This fic was written and recorded for @etl-echo-audiobooks's Winter WonderFics Fest last year. It's a little dark and a lot wonderful. It has an excellent sexy mirror scene, and the plot is something I don't see often enough: Draco actually needing to save Hermione from something (herself and her quest for knowledge).

I was so pleased to participate in the @snarrybang 2023 with these creative people. It's creepy and Lovecraftian, but also funny and weird. It's based on the video game Dredge, which I haven't played and which seems too scary for me. But it's a great setting for this different kind of Snarry. Technically, it's not the ending that I can't stop thinking about, but the climax right before; I still get shivers.

Innocence, guilt, beauty, ugliness, imperfection, flaws, penetration lots and lots of symbolism in that <3

The imagery of the manacle is super on point for this fic which is dark, dubcon bittersweet with a happy ending :D

10. Death and the Open Mind by Loup Garou.

The final fic is super long at like 43000 words. I mean!!! That's like 150 pages!! 150 pages!! Danni is insane and brilliant. I really love the skull rose imagery which is perfect for the fic which is dark, dirtybadhotwrong and really really beautiful.

Going to bed with Severus — to actually sleep — is Harry's favorite part. It's a bit awkward because they haven't discussed it, but Severus doesn't dissuade Harry from following him. The bed is lumpy and creaky and small. Severus is too bony to be a comfortable bedmate. Harry latches onto him all the same.

So, today is my birthday (Woohoo! Jumps for joy then remembers I'm getting older and goes to mope in the corner), and instead of the usual way things go, I thought it would be fun to share a gift with you...

3. A Cold Spot in Hell by FeelsForBreakfast [Draco/Harry, 8.1k, E] 💔 🔥 The summary describes this story as "sexy arson," and I can't help but fervently agree. There's a whole lot of fire, a whole lot of angst, and you'll be wanting more the whole time.

4. My Boyfriend by @acnelli [Harry/Ron, 7.3k, E] 🌼 💔 This story will break your heart and put it back together again. If you weren't a Rarry shipper before reading this, you will be after because it is just that gorgeously written.

5. The Things We Do in the Daylight by chewysugar [Hermione/Harry/Ron, 1.5k, M] 🌼 🌤 A super sweet morning-after story. I just love how loving the Golden Trio are with each other, how awkward yet so right they are together.

6. And If I Had To Choose by flipflop_diva [Hermione/Pansy, 3.7k, M] 🌼 💞 A Pansmione soulmate fic from the very recent @femmefest 2022. This fic is so cute and the interactions between Pansy and Hermione are so in character. It was a delight from start to finish.

7. Shades of Dawn by @corvuscrowned [Lavender/Ginny, 2.6k, E] 💔 🔥 The day I stop rec'ing this fic is the day the world ends because I will NEVER stop sharing this beautiful, amazing, heart-wrenching fic. The conflict and the longing between Lavender and Ginny get me every time I read this. It is absolutely perfect.

8. Elemental by @solar-settings [Katie/Alicia, Katie/Leanne, Katie/Ginny, Katie/Cho, 1.7k, T] 💔 💫 Honestly, this is one of my favorite fics of all time. Katie is so beautifully written, and the way she experiences love at different points in her life is simply stunning.

9. keeping count (losing count) by @oliverwvvd [Marcus/Oliver, 1.2k, T] 🌼 💋 Flintwood has been gradually creeping up into my top ships, and this fic is one of the reasons why. Marcus's anxiety and Oliver's tenderness. Sides of these scared boys that we rarely get to see. So short, yet so memorable.

10. Mourning Myrtle by Contrarian_Hedgehog [Moaning Myrtle, 1.7k, T] 💔 💧 A haunting, dark comedy about Myrtle following her death. The prose is beautiful, and the story is even better. It was instantly one of my favorite gen fics as soon as I read it.

11. Brighten the Dark by @skeptiquewrites [Regulus/Harry, 3.3k, E] 💔 🔥 A young Regulus resurrected from the veil and post-war Harry stuck at Grimmauld Place together? Yes, please. The banter and back and forth between them is glorious. As is the dash of feels and underlying tension of why did Regulus come back but no one else?

12. Take Heed, Dear Heart by @danni-the-puff [Harry/Severus, 3.6k, M] 💔 👀 Genderswapped Snarry! It's dark, it's creepy, and yet, the absolute devotion they have for each other kept me glued to every word. The way every character is written and the story is woven through canon (but not quite canon) is masterful.

13. Height Difference by @thistlecatfics [Sirius/Remus, 437, G] 🌼 😂 This story is pure ridiculousness, and I am in love with it. Remus is tall, like very tall, like very very very tall. We all need a tall Remus in our life XD

14. Lit Match by @phantomato [Alecto/Lily, 1.9k, E] 💔 🔥 The first and only fic I've read with this pairing that instantly converted me. Lily's character is so rich and a little morally ambiguous. Canon compliant, and yes, I could see this as canon because it's so good.

15. turning point by @duplicitywrites [Tom/Voldemort, 8.7k, E] 🔥 👀 A self-cest PWP Tom Riddle fic that is... I don't even have words for how hot and intriguing this fic is. Because we all know that Tom Riddle could only love himself ;)

BONUS FIC (>10k): Miraculous by @liladiurne [Harry/Severus, 15.5k, E] 🌼 🔥 I'm a sucker for escort fics, and this one is fluffy while also being sooo hot. I love this Snape, insecure, cynical, rich. He has the perfect life but still doesn't have what he truly wants — Harry.

I did something similiar recently but I absolutely don’t mind doing it again and getting into some depth! 

Three ships

Snarry (Snape x Harry) - Obviously. Do I even have to mention it? It’s the literal air that I breathe. It’s my soul fuel. Getting into some depth, I wasn’t really aware this ship existed until 2019, when a friend casually mentioned it to me and rec some fics. My life has never been the same since. THE PLOT! THE ANGST! THEIR BURNING CHEMISTRY! THE AMAZING FLEXIBILITY OF THEIR DYNAMICS! THE ENEMIES TO LOVERS TROPE! THE ULTIMATE HARRY POTTER FIX-IT!! Snarry held me up when I was going through the most dreadful of times, made me meet some incredible people and have some really good times. It brought me comfort and joy and some pain too. It’s a mark in me that made me realize just how much I love HP. It made me grow as a person and as a reader and writer.

Remisa (Rem x Misa) -  I define myself by my obsessions, and Death Note was definetly a marking phase for me. I watched Death Note first in 2017 when I had just begun high school. I kind of made a name between my friends AND teachers for being so obsessed with this anime. And amongst it, there was my crippling addiction to the lesbian death godess and her unrequited love story with the goth bimbo. And the musical about it. I am a completely sucker for all that bittersweetness that's so underrated it's criminal. The DN plot literally couldn't exist without them.

Ranmasaki - (Kirino x Kariya) - Before I knew tropes were a thing and didn’t know much english, this was my first enemies to lovers. Inazuma Eleven GO is a very important part of my early life. Those two clicked together so perfectly I remember it being my first yaoi obsession after I got rid of internalized homophobia. A while later, I published my first fanfic ever. It’s so bad I can’t even read it nowadays and I was awfully young (11) to be posting mature content. I don’t think I even fully understood what sex was that time. But it was my first step into becoming a writer. They made my happiest memories while I was going through hell as a middle schooler and take great part in my history.

First ever ship

I mean I shipped a lot of Disney tragic couples as an infant, but when I actually understood shipping and yaoi and fandom stuff, my first ship was Gouenji x Fubuki from Inazuma Eleven. Again, IE is my childhood. And I realized I loved it when I first read a comic dub in youtube. That led to me getting into yaoi anime. And I was a homophobic kid by association at that time. You must imagine my shock when I figured I liked a gay couple. This ship made me a very confused 10 year old and some time later and got me out of church.

I was vacuuming the house to a Demi Lovato playlist. Last one was Warrior.

Haven’t watched anything after My Policeman.
