a silly screenshot edit i made of one of my favorite moments :)

...because i organized my bank accounts and wanted to give one of my cards a special cover!!

a brief note about applying the sticker to the card: the directions said to line up the sticker to the opening for the chip, but it went better for me when i lined the sticker up to one of the long sides of the card. (but of course make sure the sticker would be in the right part for the chip)

bonus behind the scenes on my making the pic under the cut :)

i tend to make several lineart layers when doing REALLY CLEAN lineart so i can more easily erase overlapping lines. (the first screenshot has lines that "overshoot" because that gives nice sharp corners and line width variety, but i need to erase the extra parts of the lines)

(i like these screenshots because Lucifer looks extra clowny with the outlines' colorfulness)

i realized on this project, since the final lineart is just going to be black anyway, that i can use different colors for each layer and then LATER make the lineart black. (realized it after already making some lineart, so you see some black here) that way, i can easily know what layer everything's on, instead of going through a bunch of layers and clicking them off and on to find a specific part

SO, RIGHT. VERY EASY TO THEN GET BLACK OUTLINES: JUST SET BRIGHTNESS TO ZERO. i usually use a program called FireAlpaca, and the way you do that there is: Filter > Hue… > drag the Brightness cursor all the way to the left

in this screenshot, you can see some of the effects i added to Lucifer to give him the nice shadowed look that Hazbin Hotel has, as well as where i covered Charlie at the tip of Lucifer's hat lol

i included my layers on the right of the screenshot to show how i set up the outline layers in the final version: as you saw above, i named my outline layers with the color used for them, then, once i was done with the outline, i placed the "outline before color change" folder above the base black "outline" folder. that way, if i later notice a mistake, i can simply turn on the colored outline folder and i'll see what color that part of the outline is and jump to the necessary layer, rather than going on a quest turning off and on a bunch of layers each time

since i duplicated my outline folder before changing the outlines in one of them to black, the base outline folder already has the color names included in the layer names

NOT ALL DIGITAL ARTISTS USE AS MANY LAYERS AS I DO LOL. I GO WILD WITH THEM SOMETIMES. MANY OF MY PROJECTS HAVE WAY MORE THAN 80 OR EVEN 500 LAYERS. people just tend to figure out what works for them. i wouldn't be surprised if i end up using fewer layers in the future. or a lot more. or go either way depending on the project

so, yeah, this is a screenshot edit, so i traced the main part of Lucifer's body. for the background, i used two screenshots. had to cut together and cover some stuff. here's the two screenshots unedited followed by a scribbled version to make things work lol and then the scribbled version that includes some extra touch ups/covers

and some screenshots i took while working on this, when i unexpectedly got some cool-looking versions :3 first one reminded me of Day of the Dead looks (he DOES need to be more colorful to be more accurate) and the second is just rad

ANYWAY probably the most helpful thing to most people would be the colored outline thing talked about at the start lol, the stuff i bolded. that was IMMENSELY useful and i love black outlines more than ever XD

The very concept of a Luffy - Katakuri relationship (however you interpret it) is so funny because these two would drive everyone insane by having entire conversations with kenbunshoku only

Just imagine a lazy afternoon on the Sunny, everyone relaxing and enjoying the quiet... and suddenly Luffy screams, "NO I WILL NOT SHUT UP, FUCK YOU, MEAT IS BETTER THAN DONUTS!!" And even the sea kings 500 meters below jump out of their skin in shock because neither Luffy nor Katakuri have said anything in like an hour.

And then it would just be Luffy and Katakuri shooting snappy replies at each other, sentences that seem completely unrelated to each other or, you know, to anything at all because they only say the things that they just HAVE TO say out loud so everyone is so fucking confused? What the fuck does mochi have to do with rain? Or Big Mom's vivre card with Robin's flower garden?

And then Katakuri finally leaves but that's not the end to their suffering, oh no. Because after every time they see Katakuri, it takes Luffy a good half a day to un-learn future-talk. So Sanji would ask what Luffy wants for dinner, and Luffy would perk up, his eyes shining and drooling.... but it would take him a solid minute to realise that Sanji does not, in fact, know what Luffy was going to say

Needless to say, the Straw Hats fucking hate it whenever they see Katakuri

Melodies of Life from Final Fantasy IX - surprisingly not because I finally finished the game (FFIX is in backlog hell) but because the lyrics fit beautifully into my Final Fantasy XV headcanon/one day to be written fic maybe hopefully?

Who's Afraid of Little Old Me by Taylor Swift - my big obsession from the new album at least partially because uhm, this too fit way too good into the FFXV story in my head, oops

Valse di Fantastica by God Yoko Shimomura - speaking of FFXV :) I love this song and I am very excited that yesterday Distant Worlds announced they are premiering a new score of it at the Berlin concert I am going to in May!! (Last time I went to Distant Worlds they did a kinda shitty and very short performance of my beloved Apocalypsis Noctis as the FFXV rep which was incredibly disappointing so I am very glad about this redemption arc)

No Promises to Keep from Final Fantasy VII Rebirth by Nobuo Uematsu the other God and Loren Allred - This post is apparently brought to you by my Final Fantasy brainrot but at least this one isn't about XV I guess :) This song is so pretty omg. And from this one I actually do have the full emotional damage from having finished the game!

Away (Phoenix theme from Final Fantasy XVI) by Masayoshi Soken - I was gonna put some not Final Fantasy song here but this post is already derailed, might as well stick with the theme. I am once again asking Square Enix to release this ost on Spotify. Also yes, this has English lyrics which literally nobody realised until the offical lyrics were released. This song is so good I actually spend money on the FFXVI dlc for Theatrhytm.

Honorable mentions: Toward Mt. Nibel (FF7 Rebirth) like the entire fucking soundtrack for this game is insane (put it on streaming Square) but this is the opening credits while running through a very beutiful valley towards the mountain and it is such a beautiful epic start to the game! Also I am once again asking y'all to listen to Songs from Final Fantasy XV by Florence and the Machine.

Absolutely !!! Not exactly your prompt but consider this as an AU: c!George and c!Dream on boat after prison breakout. They’re exploring the SMP….and not talking about prison/XD…..and definitely not falling in love. Enjoy :D

“It’s nice out here,” Dream says, ocean spray spitting in his face, “quiet, too.”

George hasn’t stopped looking at him since they’d boarded two weeks ago. They’ve said remarkably little to each other since Dream woke up: remarkably little, considering they’re the only two on the ship. Other than orders to keep them afloat and the occasional awkward conversation, they’ve been quiet.

Honestly, this is a good thing. And a bad thing. It’s both. George misses Dream, his Dream, who still appears in his dreams tauntingly and is so different from this version of Dream he’d found injured outside the prison. But the idea of speaking is a strange one: what, he wonders, is he even supposed to say? What do you say to someone you’ve technically kidnapped?

“It is,” he agrees, a tad awkwardly, leaning over the ship to join Dream, “nice if you like… I don’t know. Unending ocean.”

“Who’s fault is that?” Dream asks wryly, but there’s no heat in his voice for the first time in a long time. George swallows back the usual sharp defensiveness, and tries not to gaze at Dream, whose body is relaxed and loose. “I mean— You did pick the ocean. I don’t know what you were expecting.”

George bristles. “Next time I find you collapsed and covered in blood,” he says, “I’ll walk on by. Don’t worry.”

As if by magic, Dream’s face closes off. “You won’t find me like that,” he tells him, voice quiet, “not again.”

God, when had they both grown so old and predictable? Slouching over the edge of the ship, George stares down into the churning ocean, tries not to think about Dream's presence, warm, electric, beside him. Let’s talk about what happened back when I found you, by the way, he doesn’t say, because he’s not dumb: Dream won’t talk to him about prison, just like he won’t talk about waking up holding onto various items from his dreams. Nothing to say. At the end of the day, they’re predictable, but in the way long-separated lovers are. Dream gives, George takes, and they do not talk about the past.

It’s Dream that moves away first. Movements strung-out, jerky, the man pulls back from the boat’s edge, a sigh pushing from his lips. George watches his shadow as it retreats, and resists the urge to follow.

“Where are you taking us, George?” He asks, quiet.

George is silent, for a moment.

“Away,” is all he can say, and it’s the truth; “from everyone.”

Somewhere he can pretend the past isn’t the past and the present isn’t the present. Somewhere he and Dream can build a future together without this horrible hanging weight between them.

Dream has nothing to say to his weak response. Instead, quiet footsteps fall on the deck, and when George works up the courage to look around, Dream is gone, and George is sick, all of a sudden, at being alone.

Somehow, he feels like he’s failed a test, and it needles at him all day.
