Ok ok hear me out: it could end in tragedy,, AND have a happy ending. The attempt(s) on Machete’s life force him to flee, he doesn’t even have the chance to find Vasco. Cue gay longing for at least a few years while Machete despairs over the loss of his love, his life, his status. He and Vasco only reunite (again) in their later years. Their relationship is forever flavored with loss and loneliness, but that only means they savor every moment that much more
I also I would like to see them as old men. Vasco would be so droopy :)
You gave me such old dog brainworms.

You ever sit here and think that at one point-
The Trailblazer was entirely willing to annihilate all sense of his heroic repute upon the Xianzhou? When it came to the idea of Kafka being in peril (grand designs of Elio's Script aside), facing Yanqing within that moment would've been an abrupt act of high treason.
At some point I really want to explore how much personalized loyalties mean to him. When you leave that scale of impression, judging from the mysteries of their past shared with Kafka, it managed to jump beyond the void instance of his death. So here's where it gets interesting, and when you can tell it's more personalized between them and not the grand narrative.
Where did Kafka's involvement sweep in? Immediately working as a means to offer the perfect scapegoat, making use of their infamy and particularly ability as a lie. Whatever Caelus did from there wasn't underneath the 'impression' of Spirit Whisper, that was a devoted fight of just disarming Yanqing and ensuring that the Stellaron Hunters could safely escape that premises.
This was an act that would've devolved the original point of the Xianzhou visit (from a beneficial perspective) to cinders, and daring to have the nerve to work with the cinders from that point in.
That whole quest found itself being rich with characterization angles. In my head, a battle of his past, his present, but also that equivocal truth that people important to him will always bypass or override any brand of authority or bigger picture scenarios.
That's the way Caelus decides to live his life.

looking through convention schedules for 2023 and 2024 (most obvs aren't up for '24 yet) and i'm so surprised by how many like... aren't hybrid, or don't have any virtual options, especially in the USA and other parts of north america
like looking around at a lot of the brit and irish ones, most of them have hybrid options already, and between covid and travel stuff i guess it's just a surprise to me that con-runners wouldn't try to incorporate some options

also which pov would be a good one to start with?
personally i watched jaiden!!! however she stayed away from Most of the shenanigans, so if you want a full account of the bullshit that went on i think wilbur or foolish would be your best bet! wilbur had a much shorter stream, if that matters ^_^

anonymous said : So, Doctor Ratio, as currently the youngest Intelligentsia Guild bachelor, would you care to share your thoughts on marriage with the rest of the universe, both as a concept and as an institution?
⸻ ❝ marriage . . . ❞ his tone peters off , uncharacteristic of the prominent rigidity the scholar was known for.
fingers drift , nestling to pose in thought. this bond , or rather the topic in its entirety , is one veritas had paid a modicum of attention to. crossing it in passing , whether by the individuals he was surrounded by or the novels that entailed this union , was an inevitability. to talk about it , with the firmness he dished related to subjects where expertise was present , would require further readings , further observation and further . . . ah , well , the unsaid latter was yet to come to fruition.
❝ as a concept is a sacred promise between two individuals , often sealed by the exchange of vows. as an institution , it is a legally recognised union between these same individuals , celebrated before a gathering of kin and close ones alike. if deemed unnecessary or unfeasible , paperwork is adequate to proclaim the matrimony between new spouses. ❞ perhaps , these are textbook definitions , but how else does one express an opinion without the rational foundation that the sanctioned relationship is built upon.
and yet , even he — a staple of logic , is aware of the idiosyncrasies that navigate the poetic world.
he purses lips , ruminating over the gravity of deliberating a theme as fundamental as marriage. ❝ to bind yourself to someone , for the remainder of your life , is the greatest declaration. it is an indelible commitment , that will be tested by a myriad of trials and tribulations , to determine the strength of your bond. ❞
how odd. the one word behind this culmination , is absent.
❝ to overcome it together , is to overcome all. ❞

"What? You never get in the mood to go missile surfing? Those big ol' surfboards of destruction morons love to lob everywhere? Might as well take em as a free ride!"
Caelus, maybe you just don't recognize that's daredevil behavior.
