JK Day 2021

...and what a day it was. I know we’re a bit late with this when looking at KST but in our time zone it’s still September 1st so it counts, right? Besides I wanted to wait until the day was over for them so I could have everything the members would post for JK so I could put it in this post as memory for us to look back on in the future.

Furthermore, as extension for the celebrations, I want to finally sit down, write and post our post about JK and his bonds with the hyung line since it’s been so long since two anons asked us about that so what better time than the weekend after JK day, right?

Anyway, let’s get into it, shall we?

The day before JKs birthday he came onto Weverse and posted three different things, including a cute selca:

Everyone of course turned up their creativity to post something for JK and also wondered among themselves what he planned on using those lyric comments for, and if he would use them for anything at all.

Sometime later before the new RUN episode aired, Seokjin appeared on Weverse and, for whatever reason, commented birthday wishes for JK under the Weverse post about the upcoming RUN episode. Because of course he did.

More than an hour before midnight KST everyone got a notification from vlive that JK had gone live:

And truly, considering it was about to be his birthday, I love how it felt more like it was ours with the gift that kept on giving that this vlive turned out to be.

Remember those posts that JK made in the morning on Weverse? As many, including myself, had guessed, JK gathered some of the lyric comments he liked most, or thought would work best, and proceeded to turn them into an actual song right before our eyes. The instrumental was gorgeous with a acoustic guitar and ballad like melody and it was truly fascinating watching him figuring out how to sing the lines, record them, redo them whenever he felt he could do it better, add adlibs in some places, and slowly but surely a song was created with lyrics in both English and Korean.

This really was the content I’ve always craved and I’m so, so happy we got to watch JK do this instead of him just showing us the final thing. You could see him having fun, even when he got a little frustrated at times or he wasn’t quite sure how he wanted to continue or how he wanted the words to sound like, and that he really knows what he’s doing. So many claim that Bangtan have no idea about producing and recording songs, which truly is such a stupid argument to make considering Yoongi is literally Producer SUGA and we know that, if the members want to make mixtapes they have to do them themselves, which we know Namjoon, Yoongi and Hobi have done. So JK doing all of that in the vlive? Checkmate against those idiots. Especially since it also isn’t the first time we’ve seen members work on tracks, like the behind the scenes of rap line working on DDAENG or Hobi working on songs, or even JK with Stay, even if we didn’t know it’s Stay at the time.

Once the song was finished JK went on to show us several more instrumentals he could’ve worked with, each one with a different vibe, before switching to singing a song by Justin Bieber saying he really loves his songs a lot. And then it was nearing midnight so he unpacked the cake he got, white icing/fondant with purple lettering spelling out STILL WITH YOU JK, very cute.

Right as midnight hit someone started to bang on the door so JK got up to see who’d come and, surprise, it was a very excited Hobi wishing him a happy birthday including singing the birthday song for him upon JKs request while JK lit up his golden heart shaped candle.

Hobi again returned two minutes after he’d left (between when at 1:18h JK mentioned that, for the first time that night, he’d do one more song to finish off the vlive, ha) to give him an ice cream cake he’d prepared, but also to get his phone which he’d accidentally forgotten in the room JK was in.

Once Hobi really left and JK got a taste of his ice cream cake, as well as the white cake which turned out to be chocolate flavored, the vlive concert began and, at the time, none of us knew what we were in for since we all thought he’d really do one or two more songs and that would be it. And yet that very much is not what happened, at all, and I’m so grateful for it.

No wonder that, eventually, Seokjin decided to come onto Weverse to post wishes for JK a second time while also saying this (the picture is from their unit photoshoot for Winter Package):

The imagine of Seokjin just sitting in bed or whatever watching JKs vlive and hearing him say last song every like ten minutes and every time he just kept going...and going...and going while Seokjin is just waiting...and waiting...and waiting? Hilarious. But it’s also really cute how he’d wanted to wait until JK was done to not interrupt him or pull ARMYs attention away from the vlive. Truly I adore their bond, it’s adorable and chaotic and so wonderfully them.

Yoongi also posted his wishes for JK while the vlive was still going.

The one who waited until it was over was actually Namjoon who, with what he said in his tweet, actually revealed that he’d watched JKs vlive as well. In his vlive JK said that at the end of their concerts Namjoon used to always give his speech like a (school) principal, as in his long ending ment speeches, and that’s why Namjoon ‘signed’ his tweet with principal as well.

Truly I love how JK was just having fun singing their songs, taking requests from ARMY, rediscovering songs, like him wondering if they really have a song called Paradise (since the Korean title is different) and finally fulfilling ARMYs wish of hearing BTS sing it live, as well as being surprised and confused by requests for Heartbeat asking himself if them really have a song like that. But since ARMY kept asking for it, he finally looked it up and his reaction to realizing that, yes, it is a real song of theirs and also that that’s the song we were talking about which he’d completely forgotten about? Hilarious but also kind of heartbreaking for all the Heartbeat enthusiasts.

One thing that this vlive showed really well was just how amazing of a singer JK really is. It’s easy for people to dismiss his talent during concerts or performances, since they could always argue that him and the others get help due to the backing track etc., but here we had his raw voice singing along to their songs much the way any of us do. And he sounded stunning beginning to end. He’s such a talented singer and he’s worked so hard on his technique and voice and it’s really showing. Thinking back to what he said in his BE comeback Weverse interview about how he’d like to one day he brave enough to do a three hour concert on his own, I’d say this vlive shows that really shouldn’t be any kind of problem at all. If ARMY can listen to him essentially do karaoke for one and a half hours, then attending and enjoying a full on JK concert would be no issue whatsoever. It’d actually be amazing, I’m certain, and I’d totally be down to seeing that potentially become a reality one day in the future.

After two and a half hours, the vlive ultimately came to a close and JK said his goodbyes.

Hours later Hobi appeared on Weverse wondering what pictures of JK he could/should post for his traditional picture “spam” and everyone was immediately super excited. Hobi’s gallery holds some wonderful treasures so we all looked forward to what he would end up posting, though it would take a few hours until it would happen.

The funny thing is that he posted the first twt twice since the picture with Namjoon in it had Hobi’s iPhone in it which, as good Samsung representative, was a no, no, so he deleted the twt and posted it again with some stickers covering the phone. So cute. And his picture choices are wonderful. I particularly love that picture of JK in the white room dressed in black from back in 2019 when they performed Boy with Luv. And also their picture from a dinner the two of them went on together back in 2018.

In the meantime before Hobi posted his pictures, as requested in the picture that BH had posted for JKs birthday on the staff BTS account at midnight, one of the members posted his meal though it’s unclear which one of them it might’ve been. Looks super yummy though, wow.

And eventually the final member to come and wish JK a happy birthday was Jimin (and yes, I know Jimin’s twt came before Hobi’s but considering Hobi already wished him a happy birthday at midnight, that makes Jimin the last one):

Taehyung didn’t post anything but considering his track record of doing something for the members off social media for their birthday, like giving Namjoon a forehead kiss, sending birthday wish videos to Seokjin (including roping others into doing it as well), or wishing Jimin a happy birthday as part of the MOTS ON:E exhibition, I wasn’t all that surprised by this.

And with that JK day 2021 came to a close. It started with a surprise (as in both the song based on ARMY comments and also the concert afterward) and ended with one as well, as in the In The SOOP Season Two announcement.

I hope JK had a wonderful day, celebrated happily with his members, friends and family however much that’s possible in these times, as well as with their busy schedule, and that this new year will be a happy one for him full of success, personal but also career wise. I’m curious and excited to see what will happen.

List of times Steuben is mentioned in John Laurens’s letters

Wow, what’s this? An ACTUAL HISTORICAL POST?!?

So, when I was reading through John’s correspondence, I found all these mentions of Steuben, so I started adding them into a doc and that doc got very long so I am posting my “research” *aggressive air quotes* here.

Putting this under a read more because it’s roughly 1900 words and kinda long-

“the pleasure of Baron Steuben’s acquaintance. Nothing that depends on me shall be wanting to make his stay in camp agreeable, and if he enters into service, to make myself useful to him.”

-JL to HL, 17th February 1778

“I have since had several long conversations with the Baron Steuben, who appears to me a man profound in the science of war, and well disposed to render his best services to the United States. In an interview between him and the general, at which I assisted in quality of interpreter, he declared that he had purposely waved making any contract with Congress, previous to his having made some acquaintance with the Commander in chief, in order that he might avoid giving offence to the officers of the army, and that the general might decide, in what post he could he the most useful. If I have conceived rightly of his character and abilities, he would make us an excellent quarter master general, in the military part of the department; his office being confined to the choice of positions, regulation of marches, etc. But as the civil and military duties with us are blended, he can’t be disposed of in this way; his being a foreigner, unfitting him totally for the latter. I think he would be the properest man we could choose for the office of inspector general, and there are several good assist ants that might be given him. I have the highest opinion of the service he would render in this line, as he seems to be perfectly aware of the disadvantages under which our army has labored from short enlist ments and frequent changes; seems to understand what our soldiers are capable of, and is not so staunch a systematist as to be averse from adapting established forms to stubborn circumstances. He will not give us the perfect instructions, absolutely speaking, but the best which we are in a condition to receive.

We want some kind of general tutoring in this way so much, that as obnoxious as Conway is to most of the army, rather than take the field without the advantages that might be derived from a judicious exercise of his office, I would wish every motive of dissatisfaction respecting him for the present to be suppressed.

The baron proposes to take the rank of major general, with the pay, rations, etc. He does not wish for any actual command, as he is not acquainted with our language and the genius of our people.”

“The Baron Steuben has had the fortune to please uncommonly, for a stranger, at first sight.

All the general officers who have seen him, are prepossessed in his favor, and conceive highly of his abilities. I must tell you tho , by the bye, that Congress has mistaken his rank in Prussia. He was there lieutenant general quartier maitre, which in good English is deputy quarter master general. He had never any higher rank in the Prussian service, than that of colonel. But he was lieutenant general of the Margrave de Baden’s troops, after he had retired from the Prussian army in disgust, As far as my line can reach, I conceive the baron to be profound in the military science.

The General seems to have a very good opinion of him, and thinks he might be usefully employed in the office of inspector general, but I fancy is cautious of recommending it to Congress, as he might appear implacably to pursue a certain person to whom Congress gave that post. Now it is a doubt with me whether the gentleman in question was not virtually removed from the inspectorship by being ordered on the Canadian expedition. In that case, the difficulty would be obviated. The baron s own desire is to have for the present the rank and pay of major general; not to have any actual command, until he is better known, and shall be better qualified by a knowledge of our language, and the genius and manners of the people. Then, if any stroke is to be struck, his ambition prompts him to solicit a command.”

“The Baron Steuben has commenced the functions of inspector general. Several officers whose character and abilities give them influence, and are pledges of success, are to be nominated as sub-inspectors ; intelligent active men are appointed to each brigade to serve as brigade inspectors. The baron has given some elementary lessons in writing, preparatory to ulterior instructions ; and we hope by this institution that the important end of establishing uniformity of discipline and manoeuvres throughout the army will be accomplished.

This I communicate to yourself only, for I don’t know whether the general communicates this plan by this courier for ratification.

The baron discovers the greatest zeal, and an activity which is hardly to be expected at his years. The officers in general seem to entertain a high opinion of him, and he sets them an excellent example in descending to the functions of a drill- sergeant.

A French gentleman of the name of Ternant with whom I was slightly acquainted at the cape François, is arrived in camp, and offers himself as one of the sub-inspectors. His talents qualify him in a superior degree for the office. He has travelled so much as to have worn off the characteristic manners of his nation, and he speaks our language uncommonly well.

The baron is very desirous of having him as an assistant, and says he is persuaded he will be an acqui sition to the States. The only thing against him is, that he comes without recommendatory letters. The Congress have I think very wisely resolved against employing any more foreigners unless they are forced to it by the special contracts of their embassadors, or very pointed recommendations. On this account the General has, in order that the baron might not lose so good an assistant, put the matter upon this footing : that Mr. Ternant may exercise the office of sub-inspector without rank for the present ; and that when his practical abilities are as well known as his theoretical, Congress will determine a rank suitable to his merit. It is to be observed that he studied engineer ing particularly, and would have wished to join the corps here, but party differences were an invincible obstacle. He has not, however, confined his views to that branch of military science, but seems to be equally well instructed in every other.

If an exception to the generally established rule is ever to be made, I think it can never be with more propriety than in favour of a person who merits such qualifications.

The baron desires his friendly compliments to you. Apropos to him, his secretary, and a Monr de Pontieres have certificates signed by the president of Congress setting forth that they are to have the rank of captains.

I think they were not announced as such to the General. Baron Steuben s secretary is desirous of drawing his pay, and upon application to the General, who is not explicitly acquainted with the intentions of Congress in this matter, was required to draw on account. This has created some uneasiness in the Baron’s mind, and he wishes to know whether Mr. Duponceau is not entitled to the pay, as well as rank of captain.”

“Apropos to spurs, I think in the present deplorable scarcity of good horses, it would be a very acceptable present to the Baron Steuben on the part of Congress to give him an elegant saddle horse. He is exerting himself like a lieutenant anxious for promotion, and the good effects of his labour are visible.

The General I apprehend is restrained from writing to Congress on this head till he shall be acquainted with the sentiments of the brigadiers respecting the Baron’s rank (but this between ourselves), as far as I can learn in conversation with those gentlemen, every one is convinced of his zeal and abilities, and thinks him deserving of the grade which he asks for.”

The whole was managed by signal, and the plan, as formed by Baron de Steuben, succeeded in every particular, which is in a great measure attributed to his unwearied attention, and to the visible progress which the troops have already made, under his discipline.”

Hello there.

Today I want to make an Announcement.

I will be leaving the Luigi’s Mansion 3 Community.

Now, this might seem out of the blue, but Truth be told, I actually made this Decision a very long Time ago. As I am writing this, it is the 3rd October, however I planned to post this Message on the Beginning of November.

The Reason why I wanted to post it on that Date is mainly due to the 1st Anniversary of Luigi’s Mansion 3 (31st October) and due to some other personal Reasons as well.

Will somebody care at this Point that I’m leaving? Perhaps not, seeing how inactive this Fandom has gotten. Then why do I write this Message anyway? The Thing is, I wanted to have a proper Closure on this instead of not saying anything and let People slowly catch on that I’m leaving.

However, I’m going to answer some potential Questions that perhaps some of you might have?

Q: “Will I stop entirely creating LM3 Content?” A: Mainly yes, but there’s no 100% Guarantee on that. Maybe some long Time later, there might be for Example one or two Artworks of some Characters, all because I loved this Game and was in the Mood to draw something again. Maybe I will never draw something for LM3 again. Maybe some People request me to draw some Characters again. Who knows.

Q: “Will you leave your OCs behind or use them again.” A: I’m not sure exactly. Sarah will be definitely used in other Fandoms, seeing that she is basically me/an Self Insert. As for the others, I may or may not reuse them.

Q: “Was it somebody who caused you to leave?” A: No, not at all. Nobody caused me to leave. It’s just my Passion for this Fandom has died on it’s own rather than someone driving me out of it. So please, don’t start to say “It’s my Fault.” or anything like that if some of you thought that. It’s just a natural Thing that sadly happens over Time. Even though it has died a long Time ago, I always told myself “I’m going to stay until the 1st Anniversary to celebrate this awesome Game one last Time, then I’m finally ready to leave.”

Q: “What is your Opinion on the LM3 Fandom?” A: It was one of the best Fandom I was ever inside of and also the most active. It taught me so many Things and caused me to meet many amazing and kind People as well. I had a lot of Fun inside that Fandom and it brought me so many important Experiences. However, I won’t Lie, there were many negative Experiences, too. Experiences that were really personal to me. Back then, I was just someone who occasionally drew for some Fandoms and then eventually left, never having interacted with anybody inside those Fandoms. However, since I was much more involved with this particular Fandom this Time, this ment I wasn’t being ‘shielded’ anymore and the Experiences were much, much more personal this Time (and therefore caused much more Pain). Basically, that was the Time Reality really punched me in the Face hardly, as this Time I was confronted with much more heavy Stuff than I was used to. So, to put it simply, LM3 was one of the best Fandoms I was ever inside of in my Life, but also the Fandom that caused me the hugest Pain of all Time.

Q: “Will you leave the Discord Server now that you are leaving the Fandom?” A: At first Glance, the logical Answer would be yes, but in my Case, I would say probably not. I plan to stick around so that I can keep hanging out with my Friends, even though Things may or may not be different now.

Q: “Is there any Fandom you will be moving onto, like No Straight Roads for Example?” A: I’m not entirely sure. As for NSR, I occasionally draw something for it, but I wouldn’t consider myself being Part of that Fandom.

And for the last Question that I saved for myself for the very End for a particular Reason:

Q: “Will you stop being Friends with People inside the Fandom?” A: The Thing is, I once vaguely talked about this Topic a very long Time ago. If I ever at one Point or the other made the Promise to someone that I will always be their Friend, if I ever forgot about it, then I have to say

I’m truly sorry for that.

I’m going to talk about my own personal View. I don’t think I’m a good Friend. Don’t get me wrong, as far as I noticed, I’m not a terrible Friend who for Example keeps insulting the People close to me out of malicious Intent or that I abuse them or anything like that. I’m not also saying the very first Statement out of a Lack of Self-Esteem (hopefully) or in an Attempt to gain Sympathy/Pity for that or anything like that. The Reason why I make such Claim is due to my own Life Experiences. You see, I was never good at keeping Friends. The 5th Grade Boy I thought was my Best Friend in my old School? Currently, we both are inside the same School and only have Religion together, however even after such a long Time where we didn’t get to meet, we only have exchanged some Words with each other, but that’s basically it. It’s not like he wanted to talk to me that much anyway anymore, seeing how in my old School he avoided talking to me just after a few Grades, even outright shooing me away (in a more or less joking way I may ad). Just adding that he is not a terrible Person, though, before anybody of you thinks that. The 7th Girl that I was Best Friends with up until 10th Grade? Eventually stopped talking to me less and less after she got a Boyfriend in like 8th-9th Grade. We stopped talking entirely after I went to a new School. Only asked about me once when my Parents met her a few Months ago. My 3 bestest of Best Friends I had in since 1st Grade and I always invited them to my Birthday? 18th Birthday, I only celebrated with my Family, last Time I’ve seen them was on my 17th Birthday. After I left for my “new-old” School, we didn’t talk to each other for a long Time, and therefore I didn’t knew anything about them anymore. I tried to keep something together I knew I couldn’t and I eventually accepted that. Even my very 1st Childhood Best Friend who in a matter of Fact is also my Neighbour stopped talking to me Years ago.

No matter how many Friends I make, it always ended with either them or me leaving. The Reason for that?

I just don’t have the Energy nor the Dedication that is required to keep up Friendships a lot of Times. Eventually, either me or them stop talking, and then it is settled. That’s exactly why I think that I’m not a suitable Friend to anybody. Friendships require both People interacting with each other, it shouldn’t be one-sided.

Does that mean that we are not 100% Friends anymore? Probably not, if they would start talking to me again, I would still consider that very Person to be my Friend, no matter how many Years have passed.

With that being said, if I ever stop talking to anybody inside this Fandom, I want to let you know that you didn’t do anything wrong, that I don’t hate you, that you are not a terrible Friend.

It’s just how I am, and again, I’m sorry for that.

Since I don’t want to leave this Message on a sour Note, the last Thing I’m going to say is this:

Thank you for being my Friend, thank you for all the Experiences we had together, thank you for this amazing Game as well as Fandom and overall thank you for everything.

Hydroquinone is a byproduct of Alpha-Arbutin. Alpha-Arbutin is an 'anti-oxidant' found in certain fruit. That is why when you eat an abundance of fruit {especially those containinghigh amounts of Alpha-Arbutin} it lightens your skin. RE: STUDIES & SCIENTIFIC FINDINGS

The only so-called studiesthat are out there {where an actual scientific experiment was performed} is one where scientistFED hydroquinone powder to lab rats. After months of this, they claim the rats died of cancer. Seriously, we 're all intelligent adults here, does that at all make any sense? Lotions& shampoos are safe for skin & hair, but if I drank an entire bottle of either. Well first, thepoison control center would need to be called, and then I would would be rushed to the hospital to keep me from dying. Eating processed foods over the years will give you colon cancer. Tap water, where do I start:Chlorine,Fluoride,Lithium. All poisonous but in small doses won't kill you, but will kill most bacteria {not including spores} which is why it is used to clean municipal water. And Again, hydroquinone = byproduct of Alpha-Arbutin found in fruit & veggies. I have no idea why these so-called 'scientist' feel the need to blow smoke up everyone's ass.

HOW DID HYDROQUINONE GET THIS BAD REPUTATION?

Well, in certain parts of the world. Skin bleaching is an epidemic. Scam merchants saw a way to exploit and take advantage of individuals who so desperately want lightskin, or 'white skin'. So they use cheap poisonous chemicals that shouldn't be used on human skin, to formulate these 'black market' skin bleaching creams and label them as "hydroquinone cream". Because of this, governments in several countries {UK and West-Africa} have banned hydroquinone skin lighteners all together.The most popular illegal ingredient Mercury. Very poisonous, muchcheaper than hydroquinone powder, lightens skin VERY fast, causes skin ochronosis, and a mess of other health problems. Using mercury based skin bleach causes irreparable skin damage, and sometimes death. If the person doesn't STOP.The other popular illegal ingredient is, steroids as the active ingredient. Steroids are not ment to be used as a skin lightening agent, ever.I will discuss steroids further in the next segment, there is much to explain about steroids. These mercury & steroid creams ruin skin, but the truly sad part is......There are people who are well aware of the dangers, but still purchase these creams because they so desperately want white skin. This is not the way!.

TOPICAL STEROIDS

Topical: Something that is applied externally to the body - in this case, the skin. Topical steroids are never to be used as a skin lightening agent. Topical steroids will almost completely destroy skin skin when used this way. Skin getting lighter or going'pale' in color, is a side-effect of using topical steroids. The skin lightening is only temporary.

Please understand the word 'steroid' isn't a dirty word. Steroids are very important to the medical community. There are manytypes, many strengths, and many usesfor them all.No matter the reason for use,topical steroids thin the skin.Meaning, it literally makes your skin thinner. When this happens stretch marks appear, the skin is easily broken{cracks and bleeds easily}, pimples and weird bumps appear, and the skin starts to darken horribly in patches, and some times has ashiny taunt look. It is extremely difficult to heal skin that has been traumatized by steroid skin lighteners. The first route of therapy is using Tretinoin Gel, it actually thickens the skin and improves texture. Doctors prescribe topical steroids in severe cases, buteven then the patient is under their close supervision and the doctor is monitoring the condition of their skin. AND it isn't applied several times a day nor over large areas. Said topical steroid is usually and only appliedin cases of a flareup, of whatever the the skin condition is. Just like pain killers {oxycontin,codeine, morphine, etc.}, long term use of topical steroids are not advised because your skin willbecome addicted to them. With topical steroids, it is your skin that becomes addicted,like a dope-fiend tocrack. And when you suddenly stop using a topical steroid, your skin goes through 'withdrawal' just like a dope fiend goes through withdrawals. Any physician worth his salt knows, people need to be graduallywinged off those topical steroids to prevent massive discomfort.

The lady in the firstvideo used a topical steroids for hereczema, clobetasol ointment is a common corticosteroid prescribed for eczema.I deeply respect the medical community but these topical steroids are prescribed too often for skin issues. Eczema is a long term skin issue, whether it's temporary or for life. It doesn't just go way after a few weeks. So to prescribe something that shouldn't even be used for 6 months, is ridiculous. Again I deeply respect the medical community, but the truth is, medications of any sort do not heal disease, skin or otherwise. They only suppress symptoms. An Eczema sufferer needs herbal healing. Look at that woman's skin {1st video}, she's more inflamed now than before she started with the topical steroids. She should have been informed aboutGerman Chamomile {powerful herbal anti-inflammatory, very expensive but worth it}, Allantoin, Comfrey, organicpeppermint soap, goat milk & oatmeal baths, goat milk lotion, anti-inflammatory herbal baths, and light chemical peels. Anti-inflammatory foods, and to stay away from foods that cause inflammation exacerbating her eczema. These areonly few of the things that can heal inflammatory skin conditions eczema and psoriasis.

WHAT ARE STEROIDS USED FOR

A steroid is a very stronganti-inflammatory medication. Plain & simple.The word or term 'steroids' are sometimes used out of context, incorrectly, or interchangeably with other similar medical terms. The steroids you hearabout athletes getting in trouble for, are synthetic injectable Testosterone. {Testosteroneis important for muscle production ,energy, healthy libido, and sperm productionin men. Testosterone isnaturally producedin thetesticles}. It's not a bad thing to take testosterone, but it should only be in a case of the 'man' being low in testosterone and other male issues, prescribed at the doctors discretion {issues that usually stem from 'male-menopause'}. Maleshave more testosterone than women, and females have more estrogen than males}. Thiswill cause major issues: Hair loss, mood swings, reproduction issues, mutated reproductive organs{penis shrinking, impotence,ovaries shrinking, infertility,etc},acne, aggressive behavior {rage}, erratic emotional behavior {brought to tears easily}, abnormal hair growth, hairloss, cancer of the reproductive/sex organs, and all types of other physiological problems. Males can take estrogen, and females can take testosterone, safely. But taking the same hormone, is not good. This is why trans-genders can safely go through hormone therapy. Males taking female hormone will completely feminize, and females taking male hormones will become verymasculine. Wow @ how nature works.

“And I am fully certain that He has the ability to protect what I have placed in His care until that day.

Remember the words that you heard from me. Retain them as the model for healthy and sound teaching in the faith and love that are available in Jesus the Anointed. As for the precious thing entrusted to you, protect it with the help of the Holy Spirit who dwells within us.”

Today’s reading of the Scriptures from the New Testament is the 1st chapter of the Letter of 2nd Timothy:

Paul, an emissary of Jesus the Anointed commissioned by God’s will according to the promise of life found only in Jesus the Anointed, to you, my dear child Timothy.

May grace, mercy, and peace from God our Father and our Lord Jesus the Anointed be yours.

Timothy, you are constantly in my prayers. Day and night I remember you before God and give thanks to Him whom I serve with a clean conscience, as did my ancestors. I really want to see you, especially when I remember how you cried the last time we were together. Yes, I know it would make me joyful to see you again. What strikes me most is how natural and sincere your faith is. I am convinced that the same faith that dwelt in your grandmother, Lois, and your mother, Eunice, abides in you as well. This is why I write to remind you to stir up the gift of God that was conveyed to you when I laid my hands upon you. You see, God did not give us a cowardly spirit but a powerful, loving, and disciplined spirit.

So don’t be embarrassed to testify about our Lord or for me, His prisoner. Join us in suffering for the good news by the strength and power of God. You may know by now that all those in Asia have turned their backs on me, including Phygelus and Hermogenes. But Onesiphorus was not ashamed of my chains. So when he arrived in Rome, he searched for me and found me. May the Lord show mercy to his house because he has often stopped by to refresh my weary soul. And may the Lord shower him with divine mercy on the last day. You are well aware of all he did to serve me in Ephesus.

The Letter of 2nd Timothy, Chapter 1 (The Voice)

Today’s paired chapter of the Testaments is the 33rd chapter of the book of Jeremiah that points to the coming King of kings:

For a second time the message of the Eternal came to Jeremiah as he was being held in the court of the guard. The Eternal who made the earth, who formed and fashioned it, the One whose name is the Eternal, has this to say:

Eternal One: Call to Me, and I will answer you. I will tell you of great things, things beyond what you can imagine, things you could never have known. I, the Eternal God of Israel, tell you that all these public buildings and royal palaces have been dismantled in vain. You thought you could strengthen the city walls with the scraps of those buildings, but it is a useless defense against the siege ramps and swords of the Chaldeans. In this fight, the city will be filled with the dead whom I will destroy in My anger and wrath, for I have hidden My face from this city because of their wickedness. Nevertheless, keep watching! I will restore this city and heal the wounds of My people. I will lavish them with peace and stability. I will bring both Judah and Israel back from captivity, and I will rebuild their land to what it was before. I will cleanse them from all the sins they committed against Me and forgive all the wrongs they have done and all the ways they rebelled against Me. Jerusalem will have a sweet-sounding name once again. The good I do for her will bring Me joy, praise, and honor among all nations of the earth, for they will be in awe and tremble at the peace and prosperity I give to this city.

Listen to Me, Jeremiah. You say this place will become a desolate wasteland with no people and no animals, but it will not always be so. The towns of Judah and the streets of Jerusalem may indeed become lifeless, but I, the Eternal One, promise you the silence will be broken. Once again you will hear the sounds of laughter and joy, the sweet words of the bride and bridegroom at a wedding, and voices of those who bring thank offerings to the temple singing,

Give thanks to the Eternal, Commander of heavenly armies,

for He is good. His faithful love endures forever.

All of this will happen because I will restore the riches of this land to what they once were.

I, the Eternal, Commander of heavenly armies, promise: even this desolate place—with no people and no animals—and all of its ruined cities will once again have pastures where shepherds will rest their flocks. In the towns of the hill country, in the villages of the western hills, in the cities of the Negev, in the territory of Benjamin, in the vicinity around Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah, once again flocks will be cared for by a faithful shepherd who will count each and every one of his sheep.

Look! The days are coming when I will fulfill the promise I made to the people of Israel and Judah. In those days, when the time is right, I will cause a righteous Branch to sprout from the old stump of David’s lineage; He will do what is right and just in the land. In those days, Judah will be liberated, and Jerusalem will live in safety. And the city will be called by His name, The Eternal Is Our Righteousness. I tell you, the royal dynasty of David will not cease; the throne of Israel still belongs to his family. Remember this, even as other kings rule over you. Remember also that the line of Levitical priests will not cease; for all time they will stand before Me offering burnt offerings, grain offerings, and making sacrifices.

Again, the word of the Eternal came to Jeremiah.

Eternal One: If you can figure out a way to break My covenant with the day and with the night so they do not always arrive on schedule, the very rhythm of life on this earth, only then will My covenant with My servant David be broken and his son not rule from his throne. Only then will My covenant with the Levitical priests who minister before Me be null and void. I will make David’s descendants, along with the Levitical priests who minister before Me, so numerous they will seem like the stars of the skies that cannot be counted and the sands of the seashore that can never be measured.

The word of the Eternal came to Jeremiah again.

Eternal One: Have you noticed what some people are saying? “The Eternal chose these two families, Israel and Judah, but He has now rejected them.” They clearly despise My people—they don’t even consider them a nation any longer! But again, this is what the Eternal promises: “Just as I am not about to stop ruling the universe with fixed laws so that the day and the night become confused, I will likewise keep My promise to the descendants of Jacob and David, My servant; I will not reject them. I will not forget the covenant I made with David that one of his descendants will rule over the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. I will restore their fortunes and have mercy on them.

Most of our deepest anxieties come from the fear of death, whether we are conscious of this or not... Death represents fear of the unknown, fear of being abandoned, fear of being rejected, fear of being separated from others, and so on. I am so glad Yeshua gives us eternal life, which for me is not so much about immortality of the soul as it is being loved and accepted by God... That is what "at-one-ment" means, after all (John 17:22-23). Because God loves and accepts us, we trust Him to be present for us, even in the darkest of hours, on the other side of the veil, where he there “prepares a place for us” (John 14:2). As Yeshua said, "I tell you the solemn truth, the one who hears my message and believes the One who sent me has eternal life (חַיֵּי עוֹלָם) and will not be condemned, but has passed (i.e., μετά + βαίνω, lit., "crossed over" [עָבַר]) from death to life" (John 5:24). God's love “crosses over” from death to life and now forever sustains me.

The Torah (in parashat Acharei Mot) provides details about Yom Kippur, or the "Day of Atonement," a special service that gave ritual expression of God's love by making purification for our sins. As I’ve explained before, the word for love (i.e., ahavah: אהבה) equals the number thirteen (1+5+2+5=13), but when shared it is multiplied: 13 x 2 = 26, which is the same value for the Sacred Name (יהוה), i.e., (10+5+6+5=26). Likewise the Hebrew word for "life" is chayim (חַיִּים), is written in the plural to emphasize that life cannot be lived alone but must be shared. Notice that within the word chayim are embedded two consecutive Yods (יי), representing unity in plurality (Yod-Yod is an abbreviation for YHVH, also indicating the “deep Akedah” of Father and Son). God gave up His life so that we can be in relationship with Him, that is, so that we can be "at-one" with His heart for us. Whatever else it may mean, then, the Hebrew word for “atonement” (i.e., kapparah, “covering,” “protection,” “purification,” “cleansing,” “forgiveness,” and so on) is about accepting God’s heart for you - being unified in his love - and if you miss that, you’ve missed the point of the Torah's teaching.. Thank God we are "sealed" in the book of life by the love of Yeshua! [Hebrew for Christians]

Some people might feel a certain amount of ambivalence about the holiday of Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement) since it focuses on the purification for the sanctuary of the Temple, and this seems to have little to do with Yeshua and His sacrifice for our sins. After all, the Levitical system of worship is described in the New Covenant as “a shadow (σκιά) of the good things to come, instead of the true form (εἰκών) of these matters, and it can never, by the same sacrifices that are continually offered every year, make perfect those who draw near” (Heb. 10:1). Since the blood of bulls and goats cannot truly take away sins (Heb. 10:3), the sacrificial system was intended to foreshadow the coming work of Messiah, who was born to die, in accordance with God’s will, and to offer his own body as a sacrifice for sin “once for all” (Heb. 10:5-10). “For by a single offering (μιᾷ γὰρ προσφορᾷ τετελείωκεν) he has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified” (Heb. 10:14).

Now while it is indeed true that Yeshua served as our great High priest after the order of Malki-Tzedek by offering his blood upon the heavenly "kapporet" (cover of the Ark) in the holy of holies “made without hands,” there still is a prophetic component to this holiday that applies to ethnic Israel regarding the prophesied End of Days. After all, the realm of “shadows” still applies in the case of unbelieving Israel, who has yet to behold the unveiled glory that awaits her... Therefore the psalmist prophetically cries out, "Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of your Name; deliver us, and atone for our sins, for the sake of your Name” (Psalm 79:9), and this refers to the hour when Israel will call upon the LORD for salvation during the End of Days, otherwise called the great Day of the LORD. This event is prefigured in the blast of the “great shofar” which will be sounded to announce Yeshua as Israel’s true Redeemer and King. Indeed, our the Messiah will one day return to Israel, cleanse her Temple, restore her to Himself, and set up His glorious kingdom.

Since prophetically speaking Yom Kippur signifies ethnic Israel's atonement secured through Yeshua's sacrificial avodah as Israel's true High Priest and King, there is still a sense of longing and affliction connected to this holiday that will not be removed until finally "all Israel is saved" (Rom. 11:26). So, on the one hand we celebrate Yom Kippur because it acknowledges Yeshua as our High Priest of the New Covenant, but on the other hand, we "have great sorrow and unceasing anguish in our hearts" for the redemption of the Jewish people and the atonement of their sins (Rom. 9:1-5; 10:1-4; 11:1-2, 11-15, 25-27). In the meantime, we are in a period of "mysterious grace" wherein we have opportunity to offer the terms of the New Covenant to people of every nation, tribe and tongue. After the "fullness of the Gentiles" is come in, however, God will turn His full attention to fulfilling His promises given to ethnic Israel. May that great Day of the LORD come soon, chaverim... The Riches of His Grace

“In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace.” (Ephesians 1:7)

The attributes of God are characterized by the “riches of His grace.” This amazing grace led Him to shed His blood as the price of our redemption.

No wonder men have developed the familiar acrostic for GRACE—“God’s Riches at Christ’s Expense.” “For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich” (2 Corinthians 8:9).

Paul seems again and again to try to find descriptions for these riches. To the Romans he wrote of “the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering” (Romans 2:4) and of His plan to “make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of [his] mercy” (Romans 9:23). Speaking of God’s mercy, he exclaims, “O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God!” (Romans 11:33).

The inexhaustibility of these infinite depths of grace and mercy led Paul to call these attributes “the unsearchable riches of Christ” (Ephesians 3:8). Desiring that all believers might learn to appreciate the tremendous future they have in Christ, he prayed that “the eyes of your understanding being enlightened,” somehow we might come to appreciate even now “the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints” (Ephesians 1:18).

Yet, marvelously rich and full though His grace is now, there is much more to come. “God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ,...That in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus” (Ephesians 2:4-5, 7). BTS Helped a 30 year old fan through their depression

Title: To you who likes or hates Bangtan

I‘m a 30 years old, no I’m a woman who is turning 31 in a few months time now.

And until the beginning of this year, I had no idea that a singer called ‘BTS’ existed in the world. Ever since the 1st year in middle school, I have lived my life without paying attention to idols.

In high school, I called my friends who were cheering for DBSK ‘childish people' and looked at them with pitiful eyes. I was proud of myself as someone who had matured early and not influenced by the atmosphere.

When I listen to music sites (E.g MelOn] popular chart, I would skip the songs of all the singers who I see as Idols. It's obvious even If I don't listen to it. What musical abilities and singing skills will I expect from the kids who seemed like they came out of the factory after being copy-pasted. I'm appalled by young boys who wear makeups, wear colored lens and pretend to be deadly so I have never watched anything like music shows.

BTS's main fanbase age ranges from 10s to early 20s. And as expected, We passed that period.

I thought that the wandering and anxiety I felt when I was in my 10s would disappear naturally when I was in my twenties, but to me, my twenties gave me more wandering and anxiety. The only thing I knew about the phrase ‘It hurts because it's youth’ was that it's true, only to live that beautiful youth intensely, l burned in vain.

I thought there would be a big flame with how much have burned,, but when i entered the first door of my thirties, there was only ashes left in my hands. And at the same time, I had the saddest parting I‘ve ever experienced in my entire life. I did not want to live hard anymore. When I was a teenager, I could at least dream of a vague hope. I felt like I am no longer at the age to dream now.

No different from my high school times, the shabby image of me who have a tough life and failed love [life] was miserable. l have developed depression, and the days where I spent the entire day sitting in the cafe and blanking out increased. But one day, a song that was playing in cafe were stuck in my ears. Unknowingly, the song were stuck in my head, the feeling was weird. I still can not explain what was that feeling I felt at that time. I opened up an app to find the song on the spot, and I found out that the title of the song is ‘Spring Day'.

And that was when I first found out that there is a singer called ‘BTS'. The name of the singer was a bit ‘what.??' (OP did not literally write ‘what..?? but that’s what she meant) so I went to search for the name, it ended up being an idol [group] with 7 members.

And I also got to know that the song was written and composed by a member called Rap Monster. It was extremely unexpected. ‘BTS' and ‘Rap Monster’. Just by looking at the naming, isn‘t a song like ‘Spring Day' [and ‘BTS’l‘Rap Monster] very unbalanced? haha rather, my curiosity grew because of that.

‘Spring Day', it was like my heart got written into lyrics form, I listened to it on repeat and got to watch the Music Video, and even watched the performance videos. Me, who have disliked idols, somehow managed to feel the beautiful emotions in the videos, dance, lyrics and melody. For the feeling for [emotional] healing, l was listening to their music and video on repeat and desperately, as if taking a depression medicine to forget the reality.

In a way, I was pathetic. A 30 years old watching Idols instead of myself to escape reality. I have never went on an overseas holiday ever in my life, I have no hobbies. Me, who was busy with earning living expenses, lived desolately so it was an action I could never imagine myself doing. But unfortunately this was the only thing that comforts me at that time. I was so lonely, but the fact that I was comforted by them made me feel even more miserable in reverse so there were a lot of times where I was frustrated. And while I was trying to endure all the days, I came across the on Tweet below.

Thank you for being my fan and our fans. I am also your fan. I am the fan that silently supports you through your personal battles and loneliness in life. Whether I'm at the back stage or in the work room, I send you my fan letters written in long musical notes and through music. I wish you would read that sound of missing [you].' - RM The moment I read this tweet, I felt like I was hit in the head, and suddenly without knowing, I started crying. Afterwards, I think I was crying out loud. Up until then, while I’m receiving cure from their music, I thought this was just a view from a consumer who is consuming a well-made product. Lovely visuals, spectacular performances to trendy music and emotions in the lyrics. With all this thoroughly merchandised, I got comforted for a while, In return, these young children and the agency will collect huge amounts of money that I can't even dream of. But after seeing the tweet above, ‘So it wasn't that. I was being comforted by a person’ this thought came into my mind so my tears started falling. And after a while, I realized that this tweet was written by Rap Monster himself. After this, I started liking BTS more passionately. I even download an app called VAPP, watched all the contents there and got to know that they’re very pure, have a healthy mind, how much they care and love each other, and how true their love is towards their fans.

Various stages and mixtapes, when Iwatch concert live videos, I realizes how musically mature and talented they are. If the main character of the song ‘Spring Day' was an idol who only has visually without skills, I think would not have fallen [for them] this much. And as I prove that my thinking is not wrong, their popularity overseas started increasing like a lie, they have took the seat of a world star in a blink of eyes. It's been almost a year now, although I'm still living a shabby live, the boys are running step by step towards the summit. The gap is sad, but it does not hurt like before. Through the healing they gave me, I’ve got a lot brighter, even though my reality is a bit bitter, l wanted to give a sincere applause to their success. And... I watched BTS's concert videos on twitter yesterday, at the venue, Rap Monster said something like the [photo] below.

“We didn't know.” What I want to say is that, we were once fidgeting too, we were once like that too. If it's everyone who have acknowledged us...(You’ll be able to do it). Our existence that is in everyone’s dream and life, our music, photos, videos, even if it's a little, when your hurting is at 100, if we are able to make it 99, 98, it means that our value is enough. When I heard this ment, I didn't cry like when l first read Rap Monster's tweet. Instead, My heart became warm and I smiled unknowingly.

l was surprised and grateful that I could hear this kind of caring and compassionate comfort from a boy who is only 24 years old. My past twenties and their current twenties were different, but I do not feel miserable to live in my current thirties because of this kid‘s heartfelt words.

Not long ago on PANN, I saw a post regarding Rap Monster's misogynist lyrics. After that, he read books about feminism, got advice from professors of women‘s studies, the story of his reflection and effort to change the lyrics at the concert is already well documented, so I will not mention it separately.

I wrote this long story with my honest personal past, I wanted to say that you can not judge the whole child with a few words in the song lyrics.

After Debut, in the song he composed ‘Born Singer', the lyrics “What's your dream, I'm gonna become a rap star", after 5 years he changed the lyrics and sang "What's your dream, I'm gonna become myself",

Until the boy in his 10s who had dreamt of becoming a rapper changes into the young man in his 20s who wants to become himself, the child had grown and matured faster than his peers. In the process, he also gave a present to people who are like me, the comfort and healing that we have never imagined.

Once, there was a song which I’ve got addicted to and kept replaying, SURAN's ‘If I get drunk today', I found out that it's a song SUGA produced because of MelOn Music Award not long ago, I got so surprised.

And this time’s concert, SUGA had something he wanted to say but couldn't because he was feeling very bewildered so he delivered it late.

“If you put aside prejudice and tinted glasses, you will definitely see great musics.”

l was also someone who looked at their music with prejudice, a the same time, as a person who was healed by their music, I want to let people know how true that story SUGA said is.

this has been a major issue with many people he has known and he even acknowledges this but has not stopped in the slightest. his guilt tripping often involves his negative/suicidal thoughts.

my friend had been extremely vocal about being uncomfortable with the people who id as their ccs on both discord and tumblr, where fish could see as this included a group chat he was in with all of us. the particular character this about was and is a hyperfixation of my friends atm. however, the day after this, fish went and made a post saying ‘i wonder what (my friend) would do if i started to id as (friend’s current cc)’ and even when being aware this friend has stated that they know said cc because they were friends prior to gaining the cc. seeing this, my friend replied to fish’s post saying, ‘i would literally have unfollow you’, and so did a mutual friend of everyone who KNEW like everybody else the original friend would be uncomfortable. fish then rbed this just saying ‘thanks guys’ and then deleted the post afterwards, and then made the above post on the sideblog.

fish has made several comparisons between himself and wander (as seen below) which should automatically be a red flag for anyone who knows what happened with wander (jollywander/kingwander, etc)

fish, who is white has called himself a weeb/aboo many times like below as an example.

the term 'weeb/aboo' has racist connotations for it is associated w cultural appropriation, racism, fetishization, yellowface and many more. in short, he's calling himself a term he can't reclaim which is also associated with racist people who fetishize asian people and their culture.

he also has used words such as ‘engrish’ which are words that make fun of non native english speakers’ (usually asian people) pronounciation of the ‘l’ sound as seen below

keep in mind that there were three asian people in the gc and fish KNEW they both were.

and so in the meantime we have the inspiration of the Spirit here with us to illuminate through the Body of the Lord, the Church, the Bride (A great mystery unveiled)

and we have the Scriptures to guide, to reveal the sacred Heart of our heavenly Father and of the Son.

Paul has written of this in his letters, continuing with Today’s reading from the New Testament in the Letter of 1st Timothy:

If any of you aspires to be an overseer in the church; you have set your heart toward a noble ambition, for the word is true! Yet an elder needs to be one who is without blame before others.

He should be one whose heart is for his wife alone and not another woman. He should be recognized as one who is sensible, and well-behaved, and living a disciplined life. He should be a “spiritual shepherd” who has the gift of teaching, and is known for his hospitality.

He cannot be a drunkard, or someone who lashes out at others, or argumentative, or someone who simply craves more money, but instead, recognized by his gentleness.

His heart should be set on guiding his household with wisdom and dignity; bringing up his children to worship with devotion and purity. For if he’s unable to properly lead his own household well, how could he properly lead God’s household?

He should not be a new disciple who would be vulnerable to living in the clouds of conceit and fall into pride, making him easy prey for Satan. He should be respected by those who are unbelievers, having a beautiful testimony among them so that he will not fall into the traps of Satan and be disgraced.

And in the same way the deacons must be those who are pure and true to their word, not addicted to wine, or with greedy eyes on the contributions. Instead, they must faithfully embrace the mysteries of faith while keeping a clean conscience. And each of them must be found trustworthy according to these standards before they are given the responsibility to minister as servant-leaders without blame.

And the women also who serve the church should be dignified, faithful in all things, having their thoughts set on truth, and not known as those who gossip.

A deacon’s heart must be toward his wife alone, leading his children and household with excellence. For those who serve in this way will obtain an honorable reputation for themselves and a greater right to speak boldly in the faith that comes from Jesus Christ!

I’m writing all this with the expectation of seeing you soon. But if I’m delayed in coming, you’ll already have these instructions on how to conduct the affairs of the church of the living God, his very household and the supporting pillar and firm foundation of the truth.

The Letter of 1st Timothy, Chapter 3 (The Passion Translation)

Today’s paired chapter of the Testaments is the 29th chapter of the book of Jeremiah that shares a letter he wrote that both instructs the people and warns against the spread of lies:

The prophet Jeremiah wrote a letter from Jerusalem to the elders, priests, prophets, and all the rest who had been taken to Babylon by Nebuchadnezzar. (This was after King Jeconiah of Judah and his mother had been taken into exile, along with servants of the court, officials of Judah and Jerusalem, and many of the craftsmen and artisans.) The letter was hand-carried by Elasah (son of Shaphan) and Gemariah (son of Hilkiah), whom Zedekiah king of Judah dispatched to Babylon on a diplomatic mission to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon.

Jeremiah’s Letter: This is what the Eternal, Commander of heavenly armies and God of Israel, says to those He exiled from Jerusalem to Babylon: “Build houses—make homes for your families because you are not coming back to Judah anytime soon. Plant gardens, and eat the food you grow there. Marry and have children; find wives for your sons, and give your daughters in marriage, so that they can have children. During these years of captivity, let your families grow and not die out. Pursue the peace and welfare of the city where I sent you into exile. Pray to Me, the Eternal, for Babylon because if it has peace, you will live in peace.”

This is what the Eternal, Commander of heavenly armies and God of Israel, says to you: “Do not be fooled by the false prophets and fortune-tellers among you. Do not listen to dreamers or their interpretations of dreams, for I did not send them to you. They are prophesying lies in My name!” So says the Eternal. If you want the truth, this is what the Eternal has to say: “You will remain in Babylon for 70 years. When that time is over, I will come to you, and I will keep My promise of bringing you back home. For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Eternal, “plans for peace, not evil, to give you a future and hope—never forget that. At that time, you will call out for Me, and I will hear. You will pray, and I will listen. You will look for Me intently, and you will find Me. Yes, I will be found by you,” says the Eternal, “and I will restore your fortunes and gather you from all the nations where you’ve been scattered—all the places where I have driven you. I will bring you back to the land that is your rightful home.”

Now you might say, “The Eternal has raised up prophets here in Babylon who tell us other things.” This is what the Eternal, Commander of heavenly armies, has to say about the king who currently sits on David’s throne and all those who remain in Jerusalem and were not taken into exile: “Watch, for I will send war, famine, and disease on them. I will make them like figs so rotten they cannot be eaten. I will pursue them with war, famine, and disease. I will make them a horror to the watching world, an object of cursing and terror, of scorn and blame wherever I scatter them because they have not listened to Me,” says the Eternal. “They ignored the warnings I sent to them again and again through My servants, the prophets. And you who are in exile are no better, for you have not listened either.” Therefore, hear now the word of the Eternal, all you who have been exiled from Jerusalem to Babylon. This is what the Eternal, Commander of heavenly armies and God of Israel, says about your so-called prophets, Ahab (son of Kolaiah) and Zedekiah (son of Maaseiah), who are telling lies in My name: “Watch, for I will hand them over to King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon, and he will execute them right in front of you. They have committed adultery with their neighbors’ wives and told lies in My name, prophesying when I never gave them a message. I know this because I am a witness to all they have done,” so says the Eternal.

Say this to Shemaiah the Nehelamite:

Jeremiah’s Letter: This is what the Eternal, Commander of heavenly armies and God of Israel, says about you: “I know that you sent letters on your own authority to the people in Jerusalem, to the priests, and specifically to the priest Zephaniah (son of Maaseiah). In that letter to Zephaniah, you said, ‘The Eternal has appointed you as the priest in charge of the temple to replace Jehoiada. When a madman tries to speak like a prophet, you must take action by putting him in shackles and in the stocks. So why haven’t you put a stop to Jeremiah of Anathoth who poses among you as a prophet of God? He sent a letter to those of us in Babylon predicting that our exile will be a long one. He actually said we should settle in this place—building homes and planting gardens of food that we can enjoy for many years.’”

When Zephaniah the priest received this letter, he read it to Jeremiah the prophet. It was then that a message came to Jeremiah from the Eternal concerning all of this.

Eternal One: Write back to all the exiles and tell them, “This is what the Eternal says about Shemaiah the Nehelamite: ‘Because Shemaiah has acted like a prophet when I did not send him, and because he has misled you with lies, watch! I will now punish him and his descendants. None of his family will live here long enough to see the good I will do for My people in the coming years because his words stirred rebellion against Me,’ so says the Eternal.”

The ten days from Rosh Hashanah through Yom Kippur are known as Aseret Yemei Teshuvah (עֲשֶׂרֶת יְמֵי תְּשׁוּבָה), "the Ten Days of repentance," otherwise called the "Days of Awe" (yamim nora’im) in Jewish tradition. Since man was created for the sake of teshuvah, Yom Kippur, or the Day of “at-one-ment,” is considered the holiest day of the year, called “Yom ha-kadosh” (יוֹם הַקָּדוֹשׁ). It is the climax of the 40 day “Season of Teshuvah.”

As I’ve mentioned before, the "Day of Atonement," or Yom Kippur, is actually written in the plural, that is, as Yom Ha-Kippurim (יוֹם הַכִּפֻּרִים), perhaps because the purification process cleansed from a multitude of transgressions, iniquities, and sins. However, the name also alludes to the two great atonements given by the LORD God of Israel - the first for those among all of the nations who turn to Yeshua for cleansing and forgiveness, and the second for the purification of ethnic Israel during Yom Adonai, the great Day of the LORD (יוֹם־יְהוָה הַגָּדוֹל) at the end of days. There is a connection with the holiday of Purim, too, since Kippurim can be read as Yom Ke-Purim, a "day like Purim." Thus the day on which Yeshua sacrificed Himself on the cross is the greatest Purim of all, since through His loving intervention we are eternally delivered from the hands of our enemies...

The Torah refers to Yom Kippur as “shabbat shabbaton” (שַׁבַּת שַׁבָּתוֹן), a time when all profane work is set aside so the soul could focus on the holiness of the LORD. The first occurrence of this phrase is found in Exodus 16:23, regarding the restriction of collecting manna in the desert during the seventh day. This restriction was later incorporated into the law code for the Sabbath day (Exod. 31:15; 35:2). The phrase also occurs regarding Rosh Hashanah (Lev. 23:24), Yom Kippur (Lev. 16:31; 23:32), two days of Sukkot (Lev. 23:39; Num. 25:35), two days of Passover (Lev. 23:7-8), and the day of Shavuot (Num. 28:26).

If you add up these days, you will find there are seven prescribed days of “complete rest” before the LORD, and the sages identified Yom Kippur as the Sabbath of these other special Sabbath days, that is, “Yom ha-kadosh” (יוֹם הַקָּדוֹשׁ), which occurs on the tenth day of the seventh month of the Torah’s holiday calendar. Indeed, the Talmud notes that "seven days before Yom Kippur, we separate the High Priest," corresponding to the seven-day seclusion of Aaron and his sons before the inauguration of the Tabernacle (Lev. 8:33).

All of the Jewish holidays find their origin in the events of the Exodus, which were later commemorated as rituals at the Tabernacle. On the first of Nisan, two weeks before the Exodus, the LORD showed Moses the new moon and commenced the divine lunar calendar. This is called Rosh Chodashim. Two weeks later, God was ready to deliver the Israelites from their bondage in Egypt. Earlier that evening the Israelites kept the Passover Seder and sprinkled the blood of the lamb on their doorposts. At the stroke of midnight of Nisan 15 the LORD sent the last of the ten plagues on the Egyptians, killing all their firstborn. On the 6th of Sivan, exactly seven weeks after the Exodus (49 days), Moses first ascended Sinai to receive the Torah (Shavuot). Just forty days later, on the 17th of Tammuz, the tablets were broken. Moses then interceded for Israel for another forty days until he was called back up to Sinai on Elul 1 and received the revelation of Name YHVH (Exod. 34:4-8). After this, he was given the Second Tablets and returned to the camp on Tishri 10, which later was called Yom Kippur. Moses' face was shining with radiance in wonder of the coming New Covenant which was prefigured in the rituals of the Day of Atonement (Exod. 34:10).

Recall that there were two revelations of the Name YHVH, first as "I AM WHO I AM" (a play on the Hebrew verb hayah [הָיָה] given to Moses in Exodus 3:14-15 which was later "incarnated" during the intervention of the Exodus (Exod. 6:1-8)), and the later revelation of YHVH’s mercy disclosed after the sin of the Golden Calf (Exod. 34:6-7). It is the later revelation that foretold God's Name of the new covenant, just as the second tablets took the place of the former tablets that were shattered. Ultimately Yeshua is the "wonder" of the covenant of the LORD (Exod. 34:10), the manifestation of the attributes of God's mercy (middot rachamim). Evil Men

“Fret not thyself because of evil men, neither be thou envious at the wicked; For there shall be no reward to the evil man; the candle of the wicked shall be put out.” (Proverbs 24:19-20)

Many of us remember the horror of September 11, 2001. The United States had not been attacked on its continental soil since the Civil War, and the whole country stood glued to their TV sets in stunned agony at the evil atrocity of the terrorists’ hostility.

Loud and often have been the vows of retribution since then, but “wars and rumours of wars” continue unabated (Mark 13:7). Nothing (according to the Scriptures) will stop the hatred of evil men against that which represents the name and lifestyle of the Lord Jesus (John 15:18), but the vengeance belongs to God alone (Hebrews 10:30).

The challenge for most of us is that we forget that the Enemy is not merely this or that terrorist group (there have been countless such groups over the millennia), but “the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour” (1 Peter 5:8). If we are constantly in turmoil over the latest iteration of evil displayed in living color every day on our evening news, our souls will never gain peace.

It is the “joy of the LORD” that brings us strength (Nehemiah 8:10). It is the delight of being “rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate” (1 Timothy 6:18) that allows us to sense something of the unilateral love of the Lord Jesus. Seeking “the kingdom of God, and his righteousness” first (Matthew 6:33) is what brings our heavenly Father’s steadfast supply of all that we may need (Philippians 4:19).

Perhaps when evil days creep into our lives or our memory, we would do well to focus our “affection on things above, not on things on the earth” (Colossians 3:2). HMM III
