the art for today is actually the massive quantity of koulourakia i made tonight. its the first time i've tried one of my grandma's recipes since she passed away and it was... vague to say the least! using juice glasses and bottlecaps as units of measurement and such. no bake time listed, operating on vibes alone. but I did it! and yes i know these are usually specifically easter cookies but they are tasty with tea or coffee all year round so I am making them for friendsgiving.

anyway here's grandma's recipe, edited by me for clarity lol

Recipe Makes: A buttload of cookies. Frankly you should probably half this. But if you are somebodys yiayia and you are making them for the whole fam don’t worry about it.

Ingredients & Supplies

7 eggs (6 for the dough, 1 for the egg wash)

1 cup vegetable oil (we use corn oil but any veg oil will work)

2 tsp vanilla extract

2 cups sugar

6 tsp baking powder

½ tsp salt

~6 cups flour

Sesame seeds (to preference)

1 Large mixing bowl (seriously you will need a Big Bowl if you aren’t halving the recipe)

1-3 baking sheets (depending on the size of the sheets/if you want to just reuse one and bake in multiple batches, etc)

Some open counter space to roll out your dough as you’re shaping it

Optionally a brush for your egg wash but if ya nasty like me, you can just use your fingers. You’re gonna have your hands all over these things anyway so as long as you’re washing them it’s fine.

Directions:

Preheat your oven to 350°F

Mix your wet ingredients together, then cream mixture together with the sugar, salt, and baking powder

Add your ~6 cups of flour gradually until you get a thick dough. The key is that you should be able to shape the dough with your hands and not have it stick to your fingers.

Sprinkle some flour on your staging area (wherever you’re gonna be rolling out your dough) and roll your dough out into small snakes. For the twist shapes, mine tend to end up about 10” long? But its just the sort of thing you’ll have to get a feel for. You can do as many twists in it as you want, go nuts! Or do other shapes! I’m an artist not a cop.

Once you have a full tray, beat your last egg in its own bowl, and coat the top of each cookie with a thin layer of the egg. This is the glue for your sesame seeds!

Sprinkle sesame seeds on your egg-coated cookies, as much or as little as you like. I’m a heavy sesame seed kinda guy myself. I just think it makes them look better.

Pop a tray onto the center rack of your oven for 15-20min, until the cookies are a light golden brown. Measure this with your heart.

Optional: Dunk those bad boys in your favorite Hot Drink. Get some tea or coffee or something. Actually I know I said this step was optional but I lied, you gotta do it.

Longan Dragon's palace was nothing like Dark Enchantress' castle. From the pure white cacao butter of the walls, the golden embellishments, and the tapestries depicting the long passed age of dragonkind, it was very different than he was used to. It was all so very bright compared to the bitter cacao and red velvet chocolate of Her castle.

It was all so baring. It made Licorice feel small and weak.

The shrill laughter around the corner made him feel smaller though, and he shrunk against the wall he hid behind. What a fool he had been.

"He just came willingly! Isn't that funny, Longan Dragon?" Lychee Dragon crowed, peaking laughter echoing through Longan Dragon's throne room.

The deep voice of Longan Dragon spoke. "Cookies are easy to manipulate, Lychee Dragon, often to a boring degree. I tire of hearing about it."

"Aw, c'mon," Lychee Dragon cooed, "even you have to find it funny just how desperate and pathetic they can be! This one is just hilarious!"

Licorice lifted a hand to his mouth, biting down on himself to prevent any ugly sound from escaping him. It wasn't as though Lychee Dragon was wrong. Like they had said, he went with them willingly, easily.

All they'd had to do was ask. All they'd had to do was tell him they wanted him, shower him in praises, and he'd dropped his allegiance to Dark Enchantress Cookie just like that. He let them do whatever they wanted to him, so long as it meant getting praises from them. He should've known it was too good to be sincere.

"All cookies are pathetic," Longan Dragon replied flatly. Their deep ancient voice resonated in his chest, a voice far too grand for a cookie form that was only just taller than he was. "Though I am glad you have found a source of entertainment for yourself. Anything to keep you occupied."

"Aw, you don't mean that Longan," Lychee Dragon pouted softly, giving a giggle a moment later. "You love me too much to send me away!"

The dragons continued their conversation, but Licorice could barely think enough to remember his own name, much less register the words being spoken. He bit down on his hand a little harder, silenced sobs wracking his chest with tight-knit pain.

A hand rested softly on his shoulder, and he startled upwards. Snake Fruit stood there, something akin to pity in its slit eyes. Gently, the servant of Longan Dragon led him away, away from the shrill voice that mocked him and the deep ancient voice that thought him unworthy of being anything but someone else's toy.

"Ssit," the snake instructed, closing the doors to their grand chambers within Longan Dragon's palace. Snake Fruit's rooms were darker than the rest of the palace. The brown scaled grooves in the walls were a welcome sight compared to the white and gold, and Licorice found himself sitting on the edge of a bed.

He clutched himself, hunching over and letting himself breathe and hiccup through silent sobs. He missed Bat-Cat. He missed Schwarzwälder. He missed Poison Mushroom, and in some twisted way he even missed Pomegranate, and if that didn't show how low he'd sunk, what did?

That gentle hand tilted his chin up, and Snake Fruit cupped his face, wiping his tears away with its hands. "I know," the servant murmured, vitriol in its tone that Licorice could somehow tell wasn't directed at him. "I know how thiss feelss."

"Do you?" Licorice asked, defensive and angry, his voice was raspy with tears. Snake Fruit looked down at him, standing before him, wiping the tears off his face, and nodded.

"To be sso full of potential and have it be ssquandered by a being who knowss sso little of what you could be?" Snake Fruit chuckled, but there was no humor in it. "I know that feeling all too well, necromancer. You are not the only one who dreamss of proving themsself to thiss world as ssomeone to be resspected."

Licorice stared. He'd been taken in by Dark Enchantress because he'd thought she'd recognized his greatness, but she never once turned an eye his way. He'd been taken in by Lychee Dragon because they gave him all the affection and attention he desperately craved, only to find out that it too was fake. Between the two of them and their honeyed words, now Snake Fruit stood before him, saying something so similar and yet so completely different. Dare he trust a third time?

He closed his eyes and let Snake Fruit comfort him. This was different. This wasn't someone powerful reaching out to pluck him up. This was someone who knew exactly what he felt.

This was someone just like him.

Linc, normally less of a rule breaker, suggests they ditch detention because he cares more about Taylor than any school rules/punishments. They leave and get an uber but its a rough ride. They end the ride early and the stress/pain makes Taylor pretty frustrated/bit of a meltdown. Linc calms him down though and then they talk about how wild/rude the driver was. It cheers them both up a bit and Linc offers to give him a piggyback ride the rest of the way home.

So idea I had was that its post s2, Link and Taylor both get detention again for various reasons. Anyways, the substitute teacher is pretty lax that day so they get to keep their phones. The catch though is that they still need to be quiet and complete some little worksheet thing. The two grabbed seats together near the window and probably moved them to face each other. Texting each other and (supposedly) working on the worksheet. Anyways, the detention is for a few hours and Linc notices Taylor is getting less energetic and more kinda short with their texting (no more emojis/gifs etc). Linc asks if he's okay and Taylor insists that he's all good, just tired from staying up Lincoln's still concerned but not pushing. The two actually start working on the sheet, texting convo dying down. He gets to some question on the sheet that confuses him so he looks up to ask Taylor if he might understand it But Taylor has his head down completely now, eyes shut tight and resting on crossed arms. Linc whispers, asking what's wrong and all his friends says it a pained "mhmn dizzy" its a migraine probably, and linc's like 'do you want me to go with you to the nurse?' Taylor shakes his head and takes a few minutes to remind him that the nurse already went home since this an afterschool detention period (sometimes their during class or before in the morning). Linc has a very deep frown to that and Taylor squeezes one of his hands and says "it could be worse. I'll...hmnm...I can wait it out." Surprising them both, Lincoln suggests they sneak out of detention instead then and head home early, worry about the details later. They both know Lincoln's been against ditching before--the world wasn't ending anymore, the normalcy might be good for them, however frustrating. Anyways, Linc assures Taylor that he doesn't like ditching thats true, but he cares more about Taylor and his comfort than anything else right now. "I'm okay with it if its for you" Probably end up doing some shenanigans to get out of there I guess and then they take an uber to the Swift home. The ride was supposed to be better than walking but it ends up being very bumpy due to the driver. Taylor very much ends up holding very tightly to Linc and curling into him. migraines still there and body sore, the bumps do not help. They end up abandoning the ride some blocks or so away from the destination. Taylor swears to leave a bad review as they get out. in pain, tired, and now grumpy he just glares at the car leaving while shaking his cane around in the air for a few minutes. mutters a little "this is stupid" while rubbing his eyes too, failing to fight off tears. Linc gently leads them both to somewhere to sit and calm down. The ride unnerved him too and it helps to complain about the driver a bit. After calming, Lincoln offers to give Taylor a much better ride on his back the rest of the way home. Probably end up napping together when they get home or Taylor rests and Linc rambles softly about his feelings on garfield: the anime that the anime-lover recommended him recently :]

green again!! this was very close to being third but didn't quite make the cut. fun fact this is the only show he has worn a different pair of shoes other than his white ones. like i'm almost convinced he just wanted to see if he could get away with having the least clothing packed for this leg of the tour tbh

ooo n about finding jeonghan's colour,,, u looked at his pictures to figure out what colour he is ?? that's super intriguing actually. bcs the thing is idk if i have this type of synesthesia,,, im afraid what im doing is just strongly associating colours with people ? like the aspects of their personality play a major role in determining their colour but similar to the process of getting to know someone, it's v hard for me to decide on their colour. for example, jihoon. it's like, , the more i see him the more i feel like i don't even know him yk? for hansol, even tho i don't know what his colour is, i can at least tell that his colour would most prolly be a cooler shade. but for jihoon n sometimes even mingyu i can't rly figure them out? it's like i have options but i don't know for sure. n i don't rly know if this is synesthesia ?? lmdoajdjska i think i should just take the test by synesthesia battery but im just scared lmao </3

i think assigning colours to vibes and personalities is very interesting though!! i don't think i could do that haha, personalities have always just been so complex and different for me that a colour just doesn't come to mind at all (i don't think my synaesthesia works in that way lmao) so that's really really fascinating! honestly tho,,, im also struggling w jihoon too and maybe that's bc i haven't spent several minutes just Staring at his face yet but i just have a gut feeling that he's gonna be one tough cookie
