Description: Rooster was fine for the first twenty-four hours after he got home. He had a hot shower, he hugged Maverick, Phoenix told him he was the biggest dumbass and then kissed his forehead.

Then things... things got a little dark.

... Baby One More Time

Warnings: ^

Description: Phoenix’s sixth sense is knowing when something’s wrong with someone in her team. Or, Rooster goes down with a stomach bug and the rest of the team try to work with it, around it, and, when it all gets too hard, they call in back up.

The Ache

Description: Rooster hits his head on a jet whilst out at the hangar with Maverick and the crew. A headache isn’t the only thing that comes of it.

Description: Rooster is in a car accident in Chicago. The team at Chicago Med and Chicago PD try to solve the case. The Daggers rally, and Maverick tries to cope.

Description: The Daggers continue their usual chaotic ways, including insulting Hangman. When Rooster goes down with a cold, they take the piss out of him too. It proves to be more serious than they thought.

Description: When Rooster admits defeat and goes to the doctor to seek treatment, he is humiliated and eventually turns away. It only gets worse from there.

Description: Hangman has to show his vulnerable side when he gets the chicken pox and makes a late night phone call to Maverick.

Description: Rooster is honorably discharged from the Navy after an accident that leaves him with a broken back. The rest of the Daggers surround him, but he’s not ready yet.

Description: The Daggers love watching Criminal Minds despite the horrors they’ve seen in combat; Rooster has a chest infection.

Two people fall together, fall apart, and make their way back home.

Description: After reuniting with Maverick on the Dagger mission, Rooster struggles to come home. His wife makes sure he does.

2006

Description: We cut back to 2006. Dee kicks Bradley off the piano after he belts Great Balls of Fire. They find common ground.

2007

Description: Dee continues to try and get through Bradley’s walls; Bradley receives information about a man he once considered family. Between all of this, there’s a birthday party and a decision.

2008

Description: Bradley Bradshaw becomes Rooster, Dee makes headway in her career and with her family. The couple make a trip to Chicago.

Day 5 of the Advent Writing Challenge!

“I’m sorry, okay? Goodwin said the board added another three presentations on the hybrid OR. After I leave L.A. I’m headed to New Amsterdam in New York.” Connor’s voice echoed loudly through Sarah’s airpods and she cringed, jabbing her thumb down on the volume button on her phone. Shaking her head even though he couldn’t see her, she sighed heavily. “It’s not your fault.” 

He was just missing her birthday on Monday...But Sarah knew that wasn’t his fault. Her birthday had never been that big of a deal to her before her friendship with Connor or marriage with Connor anyway. It was just another day before and it would just be another day again. 

“You still sound upset.” Connor pointed out as she made her way across the parking lot to the blue Porsche. She was quiet as she opened the door to the car and chunked her bag to the passenger seat. Then she told him, “I’m tired. Beyond tired of fighting, not fighting about this.” Because their angry words weren’t directed at each other, but at the situation that couldn’t be helped. Sarah shrugged. “So I’ll get over it. But you should know I’m not angry with you. I’m angry with the situation. My husband is ‘not just the Dolan Rhodes heir. He’s also one of Chicago Med’s leading lights.’” 

 She parroted the quote that People Magazine used when the did a spread on the hybrid OR, and since it was Connor’s initial idea, he was the one that got do all the press and presentations for it. “Which you know I’m so proud of. But I’d like my husband back sometime before Christmas.” 

“I know that. But I still hate that you’re upset.” Now his voice filled the car as her phone synced to it, after it was started. “Which car do you have today?” 

“Your Porsche,” Sarah told him and he automatically corrected, “Our Porsche,”

Sarah rolled eyes, Connor was always doing that. But it was his Porsche. He bought it before they were friends, let alone married. 

"Last few days of summer. Figure might as well drive it before the whether gets bad,” Sarah told him as she checked behind her before backing out of her spot. An unfamiliar noise had her glancing down at the radio. “Was that your stomach?” 

“Yeah, I haven’t ate dinner yet. I was about to go grab some before you called. Speaking of, have you ate yet?” 

“I had a big and late lunch because of a back up in the ED. Not really hungry.” Sarah told her husband, who hummed. “Go get dinner. I’ll facetime you when I’m home.” 

“I’m going to call that fancy cupcake place you like. The one that puts the gelato inside of the cake and have it left with Lenny at the door. You can pick it up and we can watch one of those anime movies you’re so fond of while we eat.” 

“Love you, babe.” Sarah said with a smile because even with 2,016 miles between them, her husband was still fussing over her.

“Love you too. You have a preference on flavor or do you want me to surprise you?” 

“Surprise me,”

Oh my god… I didn’t know about the rumors of MED if that turns out to be true this season that’s so far have been so boring is going to because even worse 😩 I hope they don’t bring her back, that desastre of relationship needs to be far away from the series

If they somehow make Manstead canon again at the end of this season, I will simply never be heard from again. I hated it so much in s3-6, I will not change my opinion on it now. It's still just so... I hated it. I have many complaints that never, ever got addressed.

I will probably be dropping Med, regardless, after this season. Fire is the only show in the One Chicago 'verse that still brings me some semblance of joy. Maybe I'll just become a 911 blog full time over the hiatus...

My name is Heather. I'm in my 30's. I am currently on a first responders and police procedurals kick. Throw in zombie shows and you've got me down to a T. So here is a little bit about me.

I work overnights at a convenience store 10pm to 6am Thursday thru Sunday so activity will be low on the weekends because I'm usually dead tired and up to my eyeballs in things to do for myself and my family.

I tend to have bad bouts of depression that affects my activity online also.

I always give everyone a fair chance to write.

I don't like being spammed with messages. I can see the messages and replies. It gets a little annoying. I will answer when I can.
