We put too much focus on reverse Robins when true heroes would shoot for the stars. There are literally three founders with perfect counterparts right there.
I'd like to submit my evidence to the jury:
The OG:
Tumblr media
Bart came back earlier in the timeline than usual. Yes, he finds being older than Wally just as strange as you do.
Jon’s mother was a refugee on Krypton when she fell in love with a man of the house of El. She (not Kryptonian, just living there), under no illusion of pride in the planet, sent him off upon Krypton’s destruction in a last-ditch attempt to save her child. Much like Clark, Ma and Pa Kent take him in.
Cassie was a demigod’s daughter who, just like we all know, fucked around and found out. Considered an Amazon by everyone involved, including Themyscira. Proceeded to make it everyone else’s problem.
The protégés:
Tumblr media
Wally really just vibing. Bart raised him, along with a chaotic collection of uncles and aunts. He fucked around with the specific intention of finding out, and he did.
Kon is a clone of Jon and Lex, but Jon immediately and unconditionally adopted him as his brother and named him right then and there. Creativity is clearly not Jon's strong suit.
Donna was Diana’s protector, created from her image to guard her. Hippolyta had a vision of Diana going out into the world of man, and so Donna set out ahead to make the world of man safe for her charge. She entered man's world a literal teenager and already despairing about what her much younger charge is going to be able to get up to here. She's correct.
The babies:
Tumblr media
Barry is Wally’s poor baby nephew that was at the wrong place at the wrong time in Wally’s lab. Moment of silence for this boy's sleep schedule.
Clark is the result of another hero or villain fucking with the fabric of reality, creating a bunch of consequences, one of which is a Jon’s full Kryptonian infant father finding himself on Earth. Jon gives him to his own parents, Ma and Pa, to raise.
Diana predictably snuck off Themyscira at a young age. She's exactly the same amount of feral as she is in canon, there's just not enough hero worship to disguise it.

Sea creatures my OCs would like:
Or pov, you're on an aquarium date with them lmao
Finley: Orcas! They're deadly, smart and kinda cute. But he also likes seal because of how goofy they look.
Iris: Moray eel. They're freaky, and their mouths are cool in her head. She also likes anglerfish because the female is like 10 times bigger than the males and she sucks them in her skin lmao.
Odile: Sea slugs (her favorite are the sea bunny and Dirona Albolineata). Also sea angels! They look so peaceful...
The Patron: Jellyfish, his favorite has to be the sea nettle jellyfish. He also finds sea horses charming.
Ophelia: She likes beta fish the most. The colors, how wavy and gorgeous their tail is... also relatable because she's fighting anyone who gets in her personal space lmao.
"Alice": DUMBO OCTOPUS. They're so cute and dumb and she wants to squeeze them and bite them!!! She's pressing her face to the glass every time she sees one.
Arden: He finds penguins really cute and admires the strong paternal vibes of the dads. Would like to pet one.
Hippolyta: Nurse sharks. She really likes nurse sharks. Saves so many cute pictures and videos of sharks hanging around.
DogFace: Guppies, he owns some himself. Watching fish swim around is really relaxing for him. He really enjoys going to the aquarium and has some fish facts to share. Ideal date location for him tbh...

how do you keep names within a single culture sounding phonetically consistent? its something ive been struggling with a lot but you seem to be doing really well at it
I am?? That's a relief!
I guess the rule of thumb I use is considering which phonemes tend to show up in which languages/dialects and grouping similar ones into related names. Like if we take Greek heroes as an example, we could formulate a list of some good ones - Heracles, Perseus, Theseus, Achilles, Patroclus, Menelaus, Alexandros - and recognize some patterns. This space of characters features lots of three-syllable names where the final syllable sounds like "-eez" or "-us". There's also semi-frequent use of the "-kl-" phoneme in the middle of the names, and they tend to favor "-e-" and "-a-" vowel sounds outside of the final syllable. If we wanted to make names that sounded like they belonged in this space, we could start by drawing on these patterns.
Actually Greek is a good starting example, because it's responsible for a lot of English's reflexive assumptions about naming conventions. Female names like Clytemnestra, Atalanta, Sophia, Hippolyta, etc all end in "-a" because "-α" is a common feminine noun ender in Greek, in contrast to the masculine "-ος". Hebrew names like Sarah, Ariella, Ayla, Daniella, Devorah, etc do the same thing, some even being feminine versions of masculine names like David or Daniel, altered by adding an "-a" sound to the end. I don't know enough about linguistics to know if this is a coincidence or a common ancestry thing, but I think this is a large part of why we trend towards considering names that end in "-a" as more feminine.
Different languages have different common phonemes. The sound "-tsu-" is quite common in Japanese but is very rarely found in English or the romance languages. Slavic names often end in "-ov" or "-ovitz". Many Spanish surnames end with "-ez". Lots of cultures commonly feature family name components that mean "son of" like "fitz-", "mac-", "ben-" or (obviously) "-son".
And even within single groups, different phoneme patterns can be tied in with different things. A lot of Jewish family names started off as "ornamental surnames" adopted by families when the government demanded they stop with that inconvenient "son of-" or "daughter of-" tradition, and are thus constructed from simple German nouns of whatever was within line of sight at the time, like "Rosenbaum" (rose tree), "Goldstein" (gold rock), "Bloomenfeld" (flower field), "Hirsch" (deer), etc. Thus, the phoneme patterns of a lot of Jewish surnames draw on German origins and have very little in common with the phonemen patterns of Jewish first names like Sarah, Deborah, Noah, Elizabeth, Esther, Caleb, Nathaniel, Jacob, Gideon, etc.
If you're working entirely in a fantasy culture, rather than drawing on outside patterns you can just start your own. Most of my character names favor "-a-" and "-e-" vowel sounds, which helps them sound similar to one another. I also use "-l-" sounds more than other consonants, and as a result, Falst, Alinua and Kendal all kind of sounds like they belong in the same space. Erin and Tess, meanwhile, have the same short "-e-" sound in their names with none of that familiar "-a-" present, and Dainix - the most geographically and culturally far-flung - has two sounds not present in anyone else's names, an "-ay-" vowel sound and an "-ix" ender. What little we've seen of Ignan culture and naming conventions has other uses of the "-x-" consonant, mostly "ainox", which kind of helps make that seem like a unifying factor. To make sure things sound coherent when we deal with more Ignans, I might use those unique sounds more often, naming other ignans things like Rase or Lainn or Onix to produce a coherent *vibe*.
Personally as a strict no-conlanger I don't worldbuild the underlying logic behind these patterns, but frankly I don't think you need to. Just roll the sounds around in your head, pick out the patterns you want to explore, google them once to make sure you haven't accidentally recreated an obscure eastern european slur, and have a good time.

Cursed DP/DC ships you say? Ok, how about…
Ember/Koriand’r (Starfire)
Pariah Dark/Lord Death Man
Desiree/Victor Fries (Mr Freeze)
Undergrowth/The Joker (purely for the Hamill-ception (Mark Hamill voiced both roles))
Pandora/Queen Hippolyta
The Box Ghost/The Lunch Lady/Condiment King
I am taking these and rapidly shoving them into my gaping maw.
Didn’t know that Mark Hamill voiced Undergrowth but ig that tracks. He also voices Swamp Thing and those are two plant based beings with a similar vibe

I read Diana's 90s space arc, thoughts:
I thought it was pretty fun!
While I absolutely love the way Jill Thompson draws Diana, I did like the art style that this arc had as well. I thought it fit well, with the bold thick lines and colors. It fit the vibe.
My favorites parts of this arc were the first issue and the last issue.
Like everything else in between in between was fun, but oh!
I just really love the opening with Diana bonding with the Russian cosmonaut and they share greek as a language and she's keeping up hope as they drift in space
And this image here:
Tumblr media
(Wonder Woman #66) Natasha (the cosmonaut): <The oddest thing. We are voyaging almost naked into the cold maw of death... and yet a minute ago when I turned on the suite communicators... She was laughing...>
The actual plot itself felt a little heavy-handed on the whole 'battle of the sexes' thing with the all-male empire enslaving women on principle but like, it's comics
Wonder Woman rallies a rebellion and becomes a space pirate
I'm willing to let some of the details slide to watch her kick ass
And she looks sick while doing it!
Tumblr media
Anyway, what was I saying? Oh yes. Space plot. Fun. Tropey. Only goes on for like 6 issues as opposed to say, Knightquest.
The other standout issue: #71, Diana comes home. In which we learn she's been gone from earth an entire year! (A rare instance in which comics time moves faster than real time).
Anyway half or so of this issue is spent on Julia writing a letter saying goodbye to Diana as she accepts that she's probably dead. And then it ends with Diana showing up and they hug.
Look, I am soft for it.
I am now also having Vanessa feelings again. After everything. The loss of her father, all the worries and anxieties she had around Diana and Diana disappears for year. We only touch on her briefly, but the loss has to be hitting her hard as well.
I need to write Vanessa fic now. Her and Julia and Hippolyta in that long year where Diana's gone.

OK sorry this took an hour, I was on the phone but here’s my AU
So it’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream and the plot and characters are basically the same, but the aesthetic is WILDLY different, because… it’s set on the Fifth House!
The biggest thing is that Hermia is a necromancer and Helena is her cavalier. This takes their relationship from “a vague yet sisterly bond” to “the ultimate ideal of loyalty and sacrifice”
And the fact that Helena turns against her necromancer is not just the loss of a dear friendship, but the betrayal of that ultimate loyalty. In this essay I will
Anyway. The other big thing is that because it’s set on the Fifth, the fairies are no longer fairies… but millennia-old, barely-human, ultra-powerful, bloodthirsty ghosts. They were summoned, they were abandoned, and now they haunt the old spirit-talking labs they came from. They’ve grown angrier and more powerful with age.
Also, Theseus is scion of the Fifth and a necromancer, and Hippolyta was his bride from the Fourth. I know the Fourth is mostly kids but she’s a grownup and it’s a political marriage. It’s just vibes ok I need Fourth House Hippolyta rn
(And idk how this works, but the whole Oberon/Titania/Theseus/Hippolyta love square still exists. Bc ghosts are sexy)
The other, less big but still fun thing is that Bottom is a necromancer. However, being working-class, he’s never had access to the test that would confirm that, much less the training to hone his powers
And the reason I did this is because none of the other Mechanicals can see Titania bc none of them are necromancers. But since Bottom is, he’s more receptive to the ghost magic AND ghost illusions. Which is why Puck picks him to have an ass head
Oh yeah. It’s all coming together
Anyway that got long, but that’s all I have so far. Hermia Theseus and Bottom are the only necromancers so far but lmk what you think
THIS IS FANTASTIC SOPH I AM OBSESSED
It’s late and I don’t have any intelligent thoughts about what you’ve written but I love it all sm and if you ever think up more PLEASE tell me about it
I might text a friend and see if they can draw up some concept art for the ghost fairies because they sound sick as hell.

DnDCAU Character Updates
Still occasionally plugging away at my Justice League animated series/D&D thing as I do more research, figured I'd update any of y'all who are interested.
Just to refresh, my two rules for picking species & classes for this AU are:
Focus on what a character "is" (their history, personality, thematic archetype, vibes, etc) rather than what they "do" (their specific powers & abilities). There are plenty of actual DC-inspired builds out there which do try to replicate the characters' specific powers, and those are great (and take a lot more knowledge of D&D than I have), but I wanted to put my own spin on things and haven't seen anyone come at it from this specific angle before.
Because it would be boring if half of the cast in a D&D setting were humans, canonically human characters can be reimagined as any of the "common" species, with exotic and monstrous lineages reserved for canonically alien/otherwise inhuman characters.
As always, suggestions are welcome. This got kinda long, so if you just want to know the League's races & classes, scroll down to the bottom for the TL;DR. Otherwise...
SUPERMAN
Clark is still an aasimar Paladin, and hasn't changed much from the original post. At the risk of taking the name "Small"-ville a bit too literally, Clark grew up in a village mostly populated by halflings, Ma and Pa included. As such, he pretty much always knew he was adopted, but assumed he was a normal human until his aasimar abilities began manifesting when he was a teenager, at which point his parents showed him the various celestial artifacts they found with him when he was a baby. In D&D terms, he has the Folk Hero background. He'd start out as your classic Truth, Justice, & the American Way-style Devotion Paladin, but after the events of the episode "Legacy" (or in this AU, the finale of his previous D&D campaign), his subclass changed to Oath of Redemption. I guess Darkseid would be replaced with... Bane? Maybe? I still don't know a whole lot about the D&D pantheons tbh, but he's the god of evil and tyranny and he wants to take over all the planes, which sounds pretty Darkseid-y. I briefly considered making Justice Lord Superman an Oathbreaker, but they seem more the type to revel in their own villainy, whereas Lord Clark unquestionably still thinks he's the hero. He's just completely lost hope that criminals can be redeemed, so instead they must be ruthlessly controlled and, if necessary, exterminated. Ergo, Oath of Vengeance.
--
BATMAN
Bruce is now a half-elf (inspired by various attempts in the comics to retcon Martha Wayne's ethnicity), and although I considered multi-classing monk to get all of his ninja stuff, I decided to stick with a pure Inquisitive Rogue build--he is the world's greatest detective, after all, so we gotta go all-in on the detective subclass. Besides, there's enough overlap between rogues and monks that you can say that he learned stealth and swordsmanship by training at a temple, anyway. Other than that, his backstory is what you'd expect from D&D Batman. I've seen builds that give him the Noble background and yeah, that makes sense, but who is the Faceless background for if not Batman? Born to wealth and privilege as the son of a nobleman, during a mugging gone wrong, he witnessed the murder of both his parents and thereafter vowed to avenge his family by preventing anyone else from losing their loved ones to criminal violence. He traveled across Faerun as a wandering adventurer, learning the skills that would help him on his crusade, before returning home to don a masked identity: the Bat-Man of... whatever city on the Sword Coast is the equivalent of Gotham. Oh god there's still so much research to do.
--
DIANA
As evidenced by the original post, it was a struggle picking Diana's species but I settled on earth genasi as a nod to her being sculpted from clay. She wasn't completely turned into a human in this version because this way is more fun. Hippolyta and the other Amazons are preexisting figures from Greek mythology who could therefore easily fit into the D&D universe, so I've decided that Themyscira is located somewhere in Arborea, the same Outer Plane as Mt. Olympus. Souls of women and girls who died at the hands of men, if claimed by the goddesses of Olympus, are reborn on Themyscira as Amazon warriors. Diana is a War Domain cleric and her patron deity is Athena. I was very tempted to go with Hera & Strength Domain, but alas, some of that subclass's bonus spells don't really fit and Hera's domain is officially listed as Trickery, which definitely doesn't fit. Athena makes sense, anyway, considering there's a big statue of her overlooking the altar where Diana gets her armor. That could also lead to a character arc where Diana starts out really good at the War Domain side of being Athena's champion but initially struggles with her goddess's other domain, Knowledge, reflecting her early naivete and hotheadedness, which eventually matures into genuine wisdom--symbolically represented by Diana unlocking her lasso's ability to compel the truth from people, since Truth is an aspect of Knowledge.
--
GREEN LANTERN
I've more or less worked out what the Green Lanterns are in this AU--basically, I saw that Lantern Archons are a thing and ran with it. In this AU, at some point in history, the Archons began granting magical abilities to select mortals who would be entrusted to enforce Law & Good on behalf of the Seven Heavens without being affiliated with any specific god. They send Lantern Archons out across the planes to select worthy mortals, and to act as their assistants if they agree to the terms of the Archons' boon. To avoid drawing too much attention to themselves, these agents started hiding their Archon assistants within special cases which resembled lanterns made of opaque green glass--for which they came to be known as the Green Lantern Brotherhood. John specifically is a variant human Battlemaster Fighter/Celestial Warlock multiclass (maybe ~5/15 level split?). That keeps him from the higher level Warlock stuff, but John didn't use many advanced constructs in the show anyway, so that kinda fits. As someone still figuring out how D&D even works, I was reluctant to multiclass any of the characters at the risk of making things even more complicated for myself. However, there was really no other way to fully represent John as a character, given that he has two such distinct "modes" in combat (the man/marine vs the Green Lantern) and how often the show explored that dichotomy. I still can't decide on his Pact Boon, though. On the one hand, Blade would make better use of his Fighter levels. On the other hand, Pact of the Chain could give him a homebrew Lantern Archon familiar, and *gestures to above paragraph* they're kind of important to this AU's version of the Green Lanterns.
--
SHAYERA
...Oh lord. See, in the first version of this, I said that Shayera was an avariel (aka, winged elf). That wasn't actually my first choice, though. Because if you're going to put Hawkgirl in a D&D setting, what are you even doing if you don't make her a literal Hawk Girl? Obviously she has to be an aarakocra, right? However, her romance with John is THE big emotional centerpiece of season two of the Animated Series and quite a lot of Unlimited. And I say this with all love to the bird furries out there (featheries?) but I can't take their romance seriously if she's a bird. It's not even the sex, it's specifically because of how stupid birds look from the front.
Tumblr media
But again, hawk girl Hawkgirl! So I don't know. Maybe John's having a less tragic (but far more embarrassing) time romancing Wally instead, and John and Shayera are still best friends? Of course, none of this is even getting into how either the winged elves or aarakocra would end up in the role of the Thanagarians; neither of them are exactly world-conquering societies. Idk man, I'm losing my mind. Oh, she's a Berserker barbarian btw. I considered Ancestral Guardians, re-flavored as the Hawks' reincarnation thing--like her past lives are manifesting as spirit allies or something. Ultimately though, I stuck with your classic "screaming and hitting stuff" barb.
--
FLASH
I've changed Wally's species so many times, it's really getting out of hand. You ask me again tomorrow and I'll have probably changed it again. For now, though, he's a tiefling. I'd love to say it's because of some deep comic book lore (his dad was in a cult and got with a succubus!) or a clever reference to his first episode in the DCAU, "Speed Demons", or even just a stupid pun about him being a horny devil. Really, it's because I couldn't come up with a character design that was clearly recognizable as the Flash, so I just gave up and made him red with lightning-bolt shaped horns. Yep, I'm a hack. The one cool design element I came up with (by which I mean it's basically stolen from Karlach Baldursgate) is a glowing magical Lichtenberg figure scar on his chest, as a way to evoke his lightning-bolt symbol without being too obvious. Speaking of lightning, I originally had Wally as a Storm Sorcerer, but decided to save that subclass for characters like Static & Red Tornado. Instead, Wally is now a Wild Magic sorcerer, which suits him better as a comedic character while also reflecting the more dangerous side of the Speed Force and his fear of what his powers could do to himself/others. As for his backstory, this is breaking from DCAU canon (where he was given an origin more like Barry's), but Wally is a Celebrity Adventurer's Scion. He's a superhero nepo baby and I love him.

J'ONN
For a long time, I just kind of assumed J'onn should be a wizard. "But wait," you say, "Martians don't technically have superpowers. J'onn didn't learn how to shapeshift or fly or read minds by studying ancient tomes or whatever, that's just something innate to his species. You're focusing too much on what he can do, and not who he is! Doesn't that break one of the rules you established at the top of this very post?" Yes, yes it does. Also fuck you. They're my rules, I should be able to break them if I want. J'onn has to be a wizard! He was the one high INT character on the team! Who is going to solve the puzzles, now?! ...Alright, so J'onn isn't a wizard. What is he, then? I've got an idea, but let's figure out his species first and come back to it. My initial "vision" for the series had mind flayers standing in for the unnamed alien invaders from Secret Origins, with J'onn as an ancient gith from before they split into the githyanki and githzerai, who (through some kind of time magic or undying sleep or something) had survived to the present day. But that doesn't quite capture the vibe of the Martians or the tragedy of their genocide, so I came up with a real wildcard alternate option, depending on how willing I am to homebrew shit: J'onn is an original oortling, from before they were enslaved and genetically altered by the mind flayers. So rather than being completely wiped out, J'onn has to live with the knowledge that his people have been genetically altered into helpless livestock and fed upon by mind flayers for centuries. Like that's some fucking All Tomorrows type shit (and like All Tomorrows, it'd be clear by the end that there's still hope for the oortlings, not to return to what they once were but to become something new which still carries the spark of what came before). With all that in mind, Gloomstalker Ranger. Favored enemy: aberrations. The Martian Manhunter is now the Mind-Flayer Slayer.
TL;DR VERSION
Clark - aasimar Oath of Redemption Paladin
Bruce - half-elf Inquisitive Rogue
Diana - earth genasi War Domain Cleric of Athena
John - variant human Battlemaster Fighter/Celestial Warlock
Shayera - aarakocra(?) Berserker Barbarian
Wally - tiefling Wild Magic Sorcerer
J'onn - original oortling (homebrew race) Gloomstalker Ranger

I was going to say Hippolyta Wonder Girl's outfit would be based on Mycenaean Greek armor but looking it up. No. Throwing historical accuracy away again.
She has the orange and black of Greek pottery, along with a deep night sky blue dotted with stars.
Oooo nice! And yeah we don't need historical accuracy, this is DC we're talking about. It's aesthetics and vibes Only

What do you think of this arrangement: Diana is created by Hippolyta and Nubia created by Philippus, with the two girls growing up as friends. Eventually, Donna is adopted by Hippolyta. Hippolyta and Philippus marry, giving Diana both of her sisters.
I mean, I don't dislike it, but if we're bringing back Nubia being created on Paradise Island rather than coming there via the well of souls, I don't see why Hippolyta can't just do it? This just seems like several unnecessary steps to end up with a 'Diana and Nubia are sisters' scenario when we could just.... have Hippolyta create them both.
Also I kinda can't see Philippus creating a child for herself. Like, Philippus is clearly close to Diana, does well as her stepmom in the Young Diana stories, and in at least some continuities/comics was a mentor to her growing up, but frankly, I never got the vibe of her as someone who ached for motherhood the way Hippolyta did. I think Diana enriches Philippus' life in much the same way having a kid around enriched the whole island, but I can't really see her going out of her way to craft a child from clay and bring it to life on her own initiative. That's a desperate move Hippolyta only attempted because, well, she was desperate. Being such a minor character means Philippus' character isn't super well-defined so you can def disagree, but idk, I just don't get especially motherly vibes from Philippus. She seems relatively on par with the rest of the island. Especially if Diana was already around, or Philippus knew she'd be created, I can't see Philippus going 'I want my own, specifically, badly enough I'll do magic about it', you know?
Obviously Donna needs to go back to being adopted by Hippolyta though. No notes there.

💖Now that I have some followers who cannot escape my feed and are forced to listen to me, I will rank my top 5 ships from Black Bulter from Worst to Best and explain why I placed them there. BTW my opinion is 100% correct, AND no, I do not take criticism. Buckle up your seat belts because this will be a long ride, and no, we're not gonna stop; you should have gone to the bathroom before we left. Now sit back, relax and HAVE FUN, EVERYONE!!!! 💖
5. Vincent & Madam Red
Tumblr media
Aesthetically this couple is fantastic. Betrayal, drama, jealousy, and forbidden love. There's a reason why blue and red are often paired together. PRIME COLOURS, BABY. That's what the kids call colour theory 😎. ANWAY, this is the Angelica Schuyler (work, work) and Alexander Hamilton (lol, you defiantly threw away your shot) ship of the Black Butler community. Even the name Angelina looks and sounds similar to Angelica. They are a bisexual dream of "may I have a side of step on me" 👞👡. They would have been that couple. Yet, I gotta rate them at number five because even though they would be slaying it together (literally and figuratively *very clever jack the ripper and watchdog joke*🔪), it does reduce the intelligent and independent Madam Red into an "uwu notice me sempai" girl. She gets turned from girl boss (affectionate) into girl boss (unaffectionate). Like GURL, I know he is bad, but you are a Miranda in a world full of Nates. The Devil wears Prada because he has taste👠. He's not worth trying to stab an eye-patched child over.
7/10 - if I was Angelina, I would have poured red wine over Rachel's wedding dress because I'm petty like that👰🍷.
4. Mey-Rin & Ronald Knox
Tumblr media
I KNOW WHAT YOU ALL ARE THINKING🧠. That's right, I'm telepathic AF. Call me Anya 2.0. "Didn't they only interact once?" Yes, and your point? I could sense the chemistry and potential oozing like a warhead from that singular interaction. When Mey-Rin said that was the first time she ever got hit on, I was shocked and appalled because that girl is a hot warrior queen 👑like some Victorian Hippolyta. If I was shot by Mey-Rin, I would thank her because that meant she noticed little ol' me. Ronald (lol nerd) may *technically* be a dead sociopathic playboy, but underneath all that, he is also a clumsy idiot with some pretty snazzy fighting skills like a certain maid ;)). They both rock the sexy geeky🤓 look, AND Mey-Rin deserves to be swept away by a man who understands the struggle of trying to impress your superior (and failing horribly) while cleaning out blood stains🩸. They are number four because I vaguely get some The Mister by E.L James vibes, which makes me break out in a cold sweat 😷🤢if I think about it for too long. Plus, they did only interact once. God, imagine having Grell as a mother-in-law.
7.5/10 - Call me captain because Imma go down with the ship like the Campania that brought these virgins together⚓.
3. Ciel & Sieglinde
Tumblr media
Bubala, I want to get this out of the way before we proceed. I'm no Humbert Humbert. Miss me with that ❌Lolita❌ shit (although it's a fantastic book, shout out to my lad Nabokov). When I ship kids, it's in an "it would be cute in the future" way. I don't expect a thirteen-year-old and ten-year-old actually to date. Kapeesh? Anyway, this is also not a reflection of Elizabeth as a character. We can all agree that their relationship was doomed the minute Lizzy discovered that OCiel wasn't RCiel and proceeded to have one of the worst reactions possible™. She tried to kill Sebastian, ran away from home, and let a TEENAGER get arrested because she got Parent Trapped. Girl, you even knew he was innocent but go off sis🙄💅. You know, ✨everyday rich girl things✨. Sieglinde, our little green witch, adores Ciel for who is truly is, not the broken-down actor carrying around his brother's ghost. Our scientist saw OCeil at his lowest point and still came to respect him. She also was tricked by him but didn't try to get him arrested, so...🙄💅. I'm more of an On the grind 💪 appreciator than a girl boss, manipulate gaslight type. Gotta love a spider leg, girl.
Unlike Elizabeth, who has dealt with tragedy from a distance (and don't get me wrong, she hasn't had an easy ride. It's just more psychological/self-inflicted), Ciel and Sieglinde, these two pipsqueaks have been through hell and back but came out stronger. In short, they can relate to each other's pain more than others their age. Plus, she's super adorable and a genius who can keep up (and outsmart) Ciel and is unafraid to be herself. They might not win in a leg race, but they will destroy you on a chessboard♟️. The best girl in town deserves the worst boy in London 😈.
8/10- Don't witches 🧙‍♀️ love the devil or whatever? Hocus Pocus girl and contract boy can fangirl over the same demon together. Fandom goals
2. Diedrich & Vincent
Tumblr media
Ah, Hello again, Vincent. You have shown up on this list more than the actual Manga. Anyway, WHEN I SAW THE PANEL, THE ONE WITH "THE DAYS SPENT WITH YOU ARE BURNED INTO A MEMORY," I WANTED TO CRY. OMFG. I LOVE IT SO MUCH 😭😭😭😭💖💖💖💖. They look so sweet together there🥺. I'm a bitch for dark English academia shit because I am basic AF. Like, don't come at me. I know dark academia has a somewhat problematic history, but Imma keep shoving it down my throat like how Diedrich shoves down those sandwiches😏. The relationship between Vincent and Diedrich is so angsty that I need some rain boots because it's pouring tears out here. Even years after Vincent dies, Diedrich remains loyal to him and tries to save his child (in his "I hate you but I serectly love you" way).
Now I can hear you exclaim, "well, Vincent basically enslaved German boy as his brother-servent thing," but let me tell you, if he wanted out, he could have just stayed in Germany, but that Guten Tag man kept visiting that fine British ass until the day that fine Britsh ass was burnt to a crisp. Vincent was hot until the day he died🔥. Diedrich even keeps a picture of their time together and thinks of it fondly, despite Vicent treating him like a lapdog. THIS MAN DIDN'T EVEN GET MARRIED!!!! WAS IT BECAUSE HE WAS TOO BUSY WITH VINCENT🤔🤔🤔???? Probably not, but for my sake, I will say yes. If Lana Del Ray's music was a couple, it would be this one. They are at number two because as much I love them, there is one ship I adore a bit more. Plus, Vincent has so many side pieces that I don't trust him to stay in a monogamous relationship.
8.5/10 - I wish I knew WHY Vincent chose Rachel over these icons. Like girl, we have no beef, but I need to understand how you collared Vincent🐕‍🦺.
1. Sebastian & Agni
Tumblr media
HAHAHA, YOU MUST OF ALL KNOWN MY (DE)MAN WOULD HAVE TO BE A PART OF MY NUMBER ONE PAIR!!!! Oooooh, the scene where Sebastian said that Agni was the first person to ever call him a friend👌👌👌. Sebastian's first friend. Think about that. The AMOUNT OF ADMIRATION they had for one another. This is Sebastian "lol, humans are bugs I like to burn with my magnifying glass" Michaelis, who respects nothing but himself (and cats). Yet, he believed Agni to be an "exemplary butler" who lived up to his ~asethics~ and Agni, the literal right hand of Kali, reached out (no pun instead) to a DEMON and saw something worth appreciating.
Sebastian even listened to his advice over Ciel's. His master and meal ticket. The guy he signed the bloody contract with. That's like if your lawyer turned to the opposition and said, "they make a fair point, and I agree my client is in the wrong." Like WHAT???? Seb values Agni's advice. A human. In Yana's own words, a species he views as nothing more than a cluster of pests. At best, they're amusing, like how a kid keeps an ant farm. Yet, Agni is different. Here the grasshopper has become the master🙇.
Their potential stepdad AUs were just up my ally. FOUND FAMILY ADMIRES UNITE! But I gotta admit, as much I love Soma, I would give him up for adoption if he was my kid. I can't deal with that level of extra. At the very least, he would go to theatre camp for the entire summer and boarding school, as is tradition for most rich British families. See, I'm not totally heartless😘! Talking about heartlessness, don't even get me started on Agni's death scene because I will ugly cry. When Sebastian dirtied himself with Agni's blood, even tho we all know that prissy bitch is more protective over his clothes than a runway model😔✊. That was the most upset we had ever seen him (outside of almost losing his son Ciel), and he seemed at least happy Agni died in peace. I doubt Sebastian can genuinely mourn, but now at least, he has double reason to hate Undertaker.
In Conclusion, I just think they are neat.
9.5/10- YASS KING, WHISPER YOUR DEMON SHIT WHILE HE PRAYS TO KALI!!! However, I can't give this a perfect score because one half is dead, and I do not support necrophilia💀. I hope we get Ciel and Sebastian explaining to Soma that they did not kill his daddy and, in fact, were planning a family vacay🏖️. I swear to god, if they have Soma work with RCiel, Imma flip my lid like a fucking kettle. Overall, they would have been couple goals💏.
