Tides and Tribulation🌊⚱ is the most recent of my Trickery AU, which is Faer's excuse for rewriting the entire Percy Jackson series, Except I Think Sally Should Take Over The World, Actually. I like this one the most since I give the characters the most autonomy. It doesn't quite beat out the baby Percy chapters in the first fic though.

Quiet! Respite! Quiet! Respite!🕷🦇 Spiderman (MCU) x DC! It's romance and it's mushy and it's tense and also so many people are dead! So many. Once I update it soon, we're about to have a little bonkers turnaround in the plot lol. Just a widdle one 🥺

The Firstborn Son. I wanted to write a traditionalish dp x dc fairy tale, and then I did. It's mostly from the POV of Batman, so if you don't know anything about Danny Phantom, great! More Woe Be Upon Ye. Features a baby Dick!Robin and a literal Baby!Damian.

Yes, Yes, Blister Pack💉👻, we've all heard of her. DCU x DP crossover. I will say that I get headaches trying to reread this though. If I reread key points I get up and walk around from how mad the plot makes me lol.

Listen. I love Drake Manor. But spot #5 goes to goo boy and the gang, and The Health and Wellbeing of Hybrid Entities👻🖤. All this boy's organs are falling out. He Needs Some Milk. He is Going Through it. Dp x Dc.

There are some other things I'm really proud of, like my Percy Jackson reworking of the Kids on Brooms tabletop roleplaying game, Kids on Pegasi, but that's technically not fic, so. I likewise couldn't find space for The Shrimp Fic. But I can only squeeze so much in one of these.

Hey there! Figured I'd finally make one of these in case anyone who stumbles on this blog wonders what it's all about.

As it says in my blog description, this is an online space where I can compile and organize imagery, info, and anything else that inspires me related to the novel I'm developing. At least that was the original motivation for making this, but I'm definitely wanting to post some original content surrounding the story and the characters in it soon! This imaginary world has been obsessing me for a few years now, and I'm honestly chomping at the bit to share it with others.

What the novel's about:

It's [going to be] a gothic/dark fantasy/folk horror/historical fiction novel set in regency Britain and centering around the concept of Halloween and its origins/meaning. Think Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell meets Over the Garden Wall. Kinda. Characters include a bratty aspiring sorcerer, a demonic changeling who wants to be human, a witch, a sin eater, and a handsome devil. Over the course of the plot the question of whether the spirit realm(s) and mortal world should be kept separate will be a source of conflict.

I've had some aspects of this story/characters in my head since I was 14, so it's super special to me!

About me:

I'm an artist, writer, and musician. This is my first time trying to write anything as involved as a novel. I'm having loads of fun with it, though. I love music and reading and history, particularly fashion history, and anything related to the supernatural. The title of my blog is a reference to a song by Echo & the Bunnymen (though I think it's actually an inaccurate lyric :P ).

remember how i used to be a phayurain blog -

@alittlebitofrainbyyourside inspired me, a few months ago, to write something about vampires and biting.

soo i'm thinking about sire phayu who's fangs are aching. it flares up occasionally because of his improper vampire development phase (long story short, phayu was neglected as a fledgling and thus has some "defective" vampire traits).

when phayu's fangs ache, they ache like a bitch, bc of Vampire Urges, he needs to sink his teeth into something. hard. preferably repeatedly. he'd use to teeth on wood, but it's not the most comfortable thing to chew, not to mention it doesn't taste great (phayu, having the rare vampire phenomenon of having functioning taste buds).

enter fledgling rain, who is eager to help his sire. a bit too eager. when rain's teeth ache, phayu offers him his thigh/neck to fang warm, so it's only right that rain returns the favour. he offers himself as a chew toy, baring his pale neck and blinking up at phayu innocently. waiting for phayu to use him and bite him.

phayu who might be a bit hesitant initially because he's afraid of overwhelming and hurting rain. he's extra careful with the pain control, making sure rain feels as little as possible, making sure his bite stings as less as he can make them. making careful little bites in the fat of his shoulder.

and then rain who, very rudely, grabs phayu by the hair, pulling him away from his neck. phayu who overlooks the insubordination and is just about to apologise when rain whines because phayu isn't biting hard enough!

phayu is a bit confused, but honestly, he should've seen it coming bc rain is a pain slut and he knows. i think he's just so used to being Too Much for his other partners that he treats rain the same way by default - like he's glass. (honestly phayus fault for corrupting rain tho ngl)

anyways. phayu who starts to play down the numbing effects of his bites. waiting for rain to have one of his mouthy little rants before phayu bites him down hard. rain letting out a wobbly yelp of surprise. phayu deciding he loves the way rain sounds when he cries, so pretty and wrecked. having to bite him again and again and again.

next time he won't use his aching fangs as an excuse. next time he'll bite so hard that it draws up blood, blood warm from rain's previous feed (basically, phayu's own "blood", lmao). no longer showing any inhibition when digging his fangs into rain. in fact, using his sire control to further disable rain's pain control, making the sensation of the bite feel further heightened.

(i think it'd make rain cum on the spot. phayu continuing regardless, praising rain for taking his bites so well, praising rain for being so pretty when he cries, his voice so beautiful when he screams from pain and over sensitivity.)

just! biting! biting biting biting! clearly i am missing the og vampire boys a little bit :,))

tbh,, it was thinking about vampkimchay that had me thinking back to vampphayurain (love bites au) and how i just completely stopped writing them because i couldn't get past the courting stage. the story needed to continue with phayu trying to court rain. i thought smut was the hard part to write but i didn't consider ✨feelings✨ would be the scarier thing. let's not get into how that reflects on me personally LOL but anyways!

𓆩ꨄ︎𓆪 They’re important, just like routines. She definitely enjoys the two of you having a daily routine together. Part of her day is exclusively scheduled to spend time with you.

The Basics

Hitman Halloween Party is a Trick or Treat Prompt Fest for the Hitman Fandom.

Prompt fills should have a minimum wordcount of 500 words.

What is a prompt fest?

A Prompt Fest is a challenge in which participants can submit one or more fanwork prompts that other participants can choose to fill.

Who can participate?

This event is open to everyone who wants to participate in good faith.

You need an AO3 account to participate. If you don't have one yet, request an invite as soon as possible.

Should your estimated invite day make it impossible for you to nominate characters, pairings or additional tags before nominations close, leave a comment and I'll add them for you.

Nominations

The first phase of Hitman Halloween Party is nominations, where you submit the characters, relationships and additional tags that you are interested in writing or receiving in this prompt fest to the tag set.

Each user can nominate ten character or relationship tags and 20 additional tags. The tag set is what participants can use for their prompts later in the process.

What fandoms are eligible?

Hitman (Video Games), Hitman (Comics), Hitman: Enemy Within, Hitman: Damnation

Nominations format

You can nominate characters, relationships, and additional tags.

Nominating characters

You may nominate named canon characters that don’t have a tag on the Archive yet. Please use the name order "Given Name Family Name" as usual for Western canons.

Nominating Relationships

You may nominate / or & relationships. "A/B" is a romantic or sexual relationship; "A & B" is a platonic or familial relationship.

Nominating mixed groups (A/B & C) is allowed.

Please alphabetise ships by family name.

Nominating Scenarios

You may nominate additional tags to add scenarios, situations and details to the tag set. These can be used as inspiration and to later craft the prompts. 

Prompts

How many prompts can I add?

You can add up to two prompts to the collection. If you add two prompts, one of them should be for a Trick and one should be for a Treat. If you only add one prompt, you can choose if you’d rather receive a Trick or a Treat.

Additional Tags

For each prompt you can include up to 20 additional tags from our 2023 tag set. If you’d like to suggest a specific scenario, add it to your prompt’s description.

Try to find the right balance between an interesting idea that gives authors something to work with and a too restrictive prompt.

Characters and Ships

Requests for individual characters can be gen or shippy. You may request a single character and mention in your optional details what scenarios or ships you would enjoy them in; however, a ship is not guaranteed.

If you absolutely want to see the character interacting with a specific other character, make sure to request ship tags — A/B for romantic or sexual interactions, A & B for platonic or familial interactions.

Trick or Treat

Please add the tags Trick or Treat: Trick or Trick or Treat: Treat to your prompt, to make sure you receive the kind of gift you were looking for.

A trick should be more angsty, nightmarish, or scary. A treat should be more sweet, sexy, or fluffy. These are a bit vague to give the writer room for how they interpret trick or treat.

Mature and Explicit Prompts

If you are under 18, please don't request prompts with mature or explicit scenarios. Please follow common internet safety rules and don't mention that you're a minor, but simply DNW mature or explicit fics in your sign-up.

DNW and Letters

You also have the option to add a link to a letter. These can be very useful to give your writer ideas for possible tricks and treats. It can also be invaluable for telling them what you do not want at all.

If you have anything you Do Not Want (DNW), it must be in the prompt directly to be enforceable. Authors should respect the Do Not Want list; however, the requester should not abuse it to try and force the author into a corner. Do Not Wants that appear only in an external letter will not be enforced.

If you are under 18, please DNW mature or explicit fics in your sign-up.

Am I guaranteed one (or two) gifts?

No. This is a prompt fest, not a gift exchange. Prompt fills are not guaranteed, but we can work together to make sure everyone gets a gift. 

Can I stay anonymous?

You can add your prompt(s) anonymously, but I’d recommend de-anoning before October 30th, to give your author the option to gift their work to you.

Prompt Fills

Minimum Requirements

To go with the Halloween theme of a quick treat (or trick), the minimum requirements are intentionally low: 500 words. If you want to write more, you can.

Prompt fills need to include the requested character(s) and character dynamics, as well as the scenario suggested in the prompt. They also need to be themed trick or treat according to their request. Works need to be newly published for this exchange and created by you in good faith. AI-generated works are not welcome.

Mature and Explicit Prompts

If you are under 18, please don't fill prompts with mature or explicit scenarios.

Posting

In order to post, go to your AO3 claims page and click the "fill" button on your claimed prompt. That will take you to a new-works form with the prompt already tickied. If the prompt you picked was not anonymous (or is not anonymous anymore by October 30th), please gift your work to the person whose prompt you picked. You might need to add the username yourself.

Deadline

There is no hard deadline, but since this is a Halloween themed prompt fest, you should aim for having your prompt fill ready before is October 31st.

Anonymity

Works are anonymous until creator reveals, the Monday after work reveals.

Extra Tricks and Treats

You may claim a prompt that has already been claimed by someone else. Since this is a prompt fest without assignments, please try to also claim a prompt that hasn't been claimed yet, to make sure everyone who participates receives at least one gift.

Be friendly!

Make sure that your prompts and your fanworks do not contain any hostile elements towards people you disagree with in any part of the fanwork (title, tags, summary, author's notes, body text). Refrain from adding DNI notes.

If you shame or harass other participants, or if there are signs that you have deliberately caused problems in multiple exchanges, the mod will delete your signup.

Holly’s eyebrows shoot up, mouth dropping open slightly, her pretty round face pinching in surprise. “That’s portal magick,” she hisses.

a potential prompt for you: jonathan (either already a vampire or still human depending on whichever strikes your fancy more) knowing that dracula won't kill him (permanently, at least) and using that fact to try and save the human(s) vlad brings into the castle for eating. the people are like "how do you know your way around and how have you survived this long" and he's like "Not Important don't worry about it we gotta leave before he finds you". bonus points if he's tried (and failed) before

When Dew was turned into a vampire, he had no choice but to run away from his old life. He couldn’t bear to let his friends see him this way, now that he’s bloodthirsty and wanted for murder. He wanders among an empty forest, a safe place to hide. But he has no idea of the scientist lurking in the shadows, who had been looking for a new test subject for a long time, and who has so many plans for the vampire who walked right into his trap.

🐹 Borrower Basil AU

Instead of a little talking mouse, Basil is a tiny, 4 inch tall borrower living in the walls home to a reclusive scientist. She gets caught, like all borrowers do, but instead of being put in a cage and experimented on like she thought, her and Anton actually become friends! Years later, Basil is working alongside Anton, as his little lab assistant helping with whatever strange and bizarre experiments he comes up with.

🛸 Alien Abduction AU

Dew and his best friend (and crush), Hayden, are walking alone one night and find themselves in the wrong place at the wrong time as they are beamed up into a curious alien’s spaceship. Anton (the alien) is fascinated by humanity and wants to learn as much as he can about his new test subjects in the only way he knows how: unethical experimentation! Hayden had always loved aliens, space, and the supernatural, and is adamant on somehow befriending the alien. Dew is scared out of his mind and wants nothing but to escape and go home to Earth, but can’t stand the idea of abandoning his best friend in the vast, infinite abyss of space.

🥼 Role Reversal AU

A role reversal AU created by @vidawhump where Dew is a scientist in an organization run by Sawyer and his goal, alongside his scientist friends, is to make all sorts of cool body modifications possible and safe. He needs a test subject for this of course, so he kidnaps Anton from his reclusive home in the middle of the woods and secretly tests out all of his unsafe body mods on him. Anton is extremely defiant and sassy here, wanting to get home to his animal friends, Basil and Sasha, while Dew has to keep all this a secret.

🌲 TLLR x UARAD crossover

A TLLR x UARAD crossover AU where Anton “rescues” Ruaridh after they were abandoned in the woods, and brought them to his lab to be a new test subject. Ruaridh and Dew become roommates, and they also become friends because they both are so incredibly lonely. Ru is also an unhinged creature who doesn’t have much of a memory. Hijinks ensue. (Ruaridh and Uilebheist A Rinn An Duine belong to @inkwell-and-dagger)

🦉 The Owl House AU

Basically a crack au that takes place in the universe and world of the owl house. Dew is basically Luz, and finds himself in the demon realm while wandering (or taken) through a strange portal door. Anton, basically Eda, is very fascinated with humans and decides to keep Dew and try to teach him magic until he can get the portal fixed. totally (he’s not letting him go). except everything gets a lot more complicated because Pierce is Belos and like, imagine something that makes absolutely 0 sense for a second: imagine if Hunter somehow escaped Belos and was on the run, and he figured out how to practice wild magic, and he was obsessed with humans and lived in the owl house (and Eda never existed). that’s basically Anton here. so he simultaneously plays the role of Hunter and Eda and im sure i sound absolutely insane right now but i don’t care. am i ever going to write anything with this? no

🌀 unnamed vampire!Anton au that has been rotating in my brain like a rotisserie chicken

An AU where Anton enthralls Dew. But he also enthralls Aspen! And me! And you! Might just write something for all four of those scenarios, I have no idea yet, but I desperately need a possessive gentle vampire Anton to hypnotize someone and suck their blood soooo bad. It would heal me. Putting it here to force me to write something eventually.

Has anyone ever asked what kind of brushes you use for Procreate? I’m very new to the program and still trying to learn my way around it 🦇

Hi! 🦇

I mostly use the default ones tbh, mixed with a downloaded watercolour pack. I might tweak the stroke path, stabilization and taper in the settings depending on the brush, but that's about it!

Last WIP - First time using the shale one for lineart, it's super smooth I love it, 10/10

Textured pencil lines are usually my go-to for lineart and rough unblended shading, with a preference for 6B (my beloved).

All of my blood textures are a blend of default organic brushes, mostly trial and error but they can provide some really cool results!

And the watercolour ones are from MaxPack, they're not cheap but very good! I use them all the time, even when I'm not trying to have a watercolour feel they have some great blending brushes for shading and good paper textures. (All the freckles I paint are from their splatter brushes, see above.)
