Of course, being shadowed by the princess also meant being shadowed by her very scary-looking security detail, who must've been snoozing behind their dark sunglasses—seriously, who wears sunglasses inside?—because none of them bothered to step in when their darling little princess put a staple through her immaculately manicured thumb. Because apparently stapling four pieces of paper was too hard.
Keep it in your pants, Matty had warned him. Now that he knew the princess, that wouldn't be a problem.
While she may be beautiful, as far as Bozer was concerned, the princess was an elitist and naive stick-in-the-mud.
In fewer words: he couldn't stand her.
In fact, he was halfway through concocting a plan to unload her on his coworker Riley when the princess' thumb finally stopped bleeding.
Bozer put a band-aid around the wound and dropped her hand with a mocking flourish. "Off you go, Princess," he said in a purposefully bad imitation of her snobby accent.
Princess Desiree crossed her arms. "I'm not an invalid, you know. My skillset being different than yours doesn't make me an idiot. And for the millionth time, please just call me Desi."
Bozer scoffed. What did a spoiled princess know about life that a burger flipper-turned-film school dropout-turned-journalist didn't?
