Ο κεραυνοβόλος έρωτας του Αχιλλέα για τη βασίλισσα των Αμαζόνων που πέθανε από το σπαθί του

Μετά την κηδεία του Έκτορα, ήλθε στην Τροία η όμορφη κόρη του Άρη Πενθεσίλεια βασίλισσα των Αμαζόνων, για να ενισχύσει τους Τρώες. Στις μάχες ήταν ιδιαίτερα δυναμική, σκότωσε και τον Αχαιό Μαχάονα. Οι Αμαζόνες ήταν μια πολεμόχαρη γυναικεία φυλή που κατοικούσαν, σύμφωνα με τον μύθο, στη νοτιοανατολική πλευρά του Ευξείνου Πόντου ή στην περιοχή του Καυκάσου. (more…)
