Walking home from school, Adrian has pulled an extra hours grading papers. Even if they were not exactly human, they could still feel the soreness of sitting too long. They finally understood the complaints and the pain their colleagues often voiced and endured. Besides that, their brains literally melt when they read some of the most ridiculous answers submitted by their students. That they grimace as they grade each paper, wondering if their student is planning to make a passing grade, or just writing whatever nonsense to hit the word count. These concerns have made them slightly worried, as they wonder how humanity has been leading up to this point. Seeing that their intelligence has been declining generation after generation.

And after what they had endured, Adrian decided to get something stiff to drink as a reward. But their heels soon halted when they heard the sound of the blood-curdling scream. Unable to resist the call for help, they find their feet turning toward the source of the cries. Soon, reaching toward the source of distress, they are both stunned and taken aback to see one of their own students being cornered by the bizarre-looking turtles?!

Shaking their head, as they quickly pulled themselves together. They proceed to grab a metal rod from the nearest pile of trash. And they swung it around pathetically, making themselves look like a threat to the other. "Stay away from them!" Turning to speak to their student. "Alice! Stay behind me!" Only to realize the error they had just made.

Animated Outfits I Love

Since @thenamelessdoll started this new trend, and since I love fashion and animation, I was super excited to do this! I tried to vary my choices in terms of types of outfits and franchises, although be prepared for lots of pink, and they’re listed in no particular order.

1.) Aurora’s Pink Dress, Sleeping Beauty (1959)

This is my favorite Disney Princess dress and, while the blue version is also lovely, I’m biased toward the pink version. I love the silhouette and the off-the-shoulder sleeves, and the overall construction is so simple yet elegant.

2.) Spider-Woman/Spider-Gwen, Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse (2018)

Everything about Gwen’s outfit is just #aesthetic. The color pallate, the hood, the pointe shoes, the whole look comes together so well and makes for not only one of my favorite redesigns, but one of my favorite superhero costumes.

3.) Utena’s Rose Bride Costume, Revolutionary Girl Utena (1997)

While the context of Utena wearing this is icky, the dress and accessories themselves are still so lovely. I love the contrast between the pale pink/purple and seafoam green, the rose bride outfit itself is so iconic, and the dress + sword combination is too good.

4.) Kim’s Heart Crop Top and Pants, Kim Possible (2002)

While Kim’s main outfit is unquestionably iconic, this is a super cute casual look and closer to my actual style. I love the late 90’s/early 00’s energy, and we need to bring back the crop top and baggy pants look.

5.) Mulan’s Matchmaker Dress, Mulan (1997)

I was OBSESSED with this dress as a kid and, like many other things, six-year old me was completely right. The sleeves and overall drapery stand out compared to many other princess outfits, and the color palette is similarly unconventional but very appealing.

6.) Nia’s Die Gurren Outfit, Gurren Lagan (2007)

It was so hard to choose between Nia’s two pre-timeskip outfits, but I just couldn’t resist the jacket! I love the contrast between the soft pinks and reds, and it’s adorable and girly while still looking cool and spunky!

7.) Cybersix Main Outfit, Cybersix (1999)

This is just the ultimate dark and dramatic superhero look. The big hat, the super-long cape, the fingerless gloves and boots, it just makes me want to stand on top of a building and strike a pose.

8.) Usagi’s Hoodie and Dress, Sailor Moon SuperS: The Movie (1995)

90’s Sailor Moon has possibly my favorite outfit designs of any animated series, so it was extremely difficult, but I had to go with this one in the end. The hoodie (my favorite shade of pink) combined with the little black dress and they way it’s mirrored in the pink tights and Mary Janes, offers up the perfect balance between casual and dressy elements. It’s a great, simple outfit, with one of my favorite color combinations.

9.) Rapunzel’s Casual Outfit, Wreck-It Ralph 2: Ralph Breaks the Internet (2018)

While all the princesses have great casual outfits, the hoodie and leggings won me over. I’ve always loved Rapunzel and her color palette, and the patterns and accessories look like something I would actually wear.

10.) Padme’s Crescent Moon Senate Dress, Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008)

There had to be at least one Star Wars design and, since the senators have all the best looks, I had to go with one of my favorite Padme outfits. The dress and cloak convey a great sense of regality, while not going too over-the-top, and little details like the contrasting shade of purple and the embroidery really make this ensemble stand out.

I apologize if this is too complex/discourse-y (feel free to ignore if so), but I'd be interested in your thoughts on the main character's gender expressionism/identity and any headcanons you have about the show! personally i'm not quite versed enough (in the show & queer theory) to make definitive statements on possible gender fluidity or trans narratives or such, but I looooove looking at the different outfits cuz hot damn the looks are so GOOD! :D

ROUTE : Life After

Adrian Seidelman (a.k.a. Cyber 6) left their home, Meridiana, after their spouse, Lucas Amato, died of old age. They were shocked to discover that they had managed to outlive the claim of their late creator, Dr. Von Reichter, who constantly reminded them that they were a failed experiment, who were doomed to have short life spans compared to human ones.

With nothing holding them back, left with only the pain of losing the love of their life, they decided to leave Meridiana and venture around the world in search of a new start.

EXTRA INFORMATION

Adrian and Lucas did have a child together, named Luca. Due to their huge differences in biology, when their son was born as a hybrid, part human and part Cyber series. Luca began to rapidly grow into an adult in a matter of days and weeks after he was born. He died when he was in his mid-40s.

Adrian left Meridian with Data 7 (formerly known as Cyber 29, the brother to Cyber 6, who died prematurely. And his brain was put into the body of a black panther by Dr. Von Reichter) venturing around the world together.

When they discovered that Data 7 was beginning to lose his mind to the animal he embodies, they settled down in Africa for a few years, spending what little time they had together. Soon, both siblings parted ways when Data 7 joined a pride of Panthers.

Due to the loss of their loved ones, Adrian/Cyber 6 became emotionally cold. Living alone and secluded for several years. And it took them almost a decade to heal from their depression and recover their emotions. Upon returning to society, they returned to their old profession, teaching Literature in a college or university. But they remain guarded emotionally, as they fear their mind won't be able to cope and deal with any more emotional pain.

They now and continue to live a life as anonymous and forgettable as possible. And every few years, Adrian/Cyber 6 would move to another town or city to avoid suspicion, since they now cannot physically age.

They still have Lucas and their wedding band together, kept in a secure jewelry box. They once wore them often around their neck but losing one of them once, they decided to keep it safely at home.

They kept their family picture, one in their wallet and one at home.

So earlier this week I was introduced, via the Cinema Snob to a character named Darna.

Here’s thing about her. She’s not a Wonder Woman ripoff. In fact, she’s been running strong in the Philippines for like over half a century. (1950 to be exact.) She has more in common with Shazam than anyone. And honestly… Outside of her rather silly looking costume (Which the perv in me doesn’t mind), she seems like an actual decent character. Unfortunately, I can’t find a single translated comic of hers.

And this got me thinking about superheroes in other countries. I’m a white mostly cis Western male who’s live most of his life in English speaking countries. And most of my exposure to heroes from other counties have been exposures to characters created by OTHER white cis English speaking Western males. And almost always, you only know that they’re from another country because their costume has some motifs of their country on it… And it comes across as less genuine and more pandering to me. I think about Sunfire with his rising sun motif on his costume. 

Granted he looks less ridiculous NOW, but I bring him up because I remember in the 90s when they tried to give him a new costume and it looked like a samurai. It just seemed odd to me whenever a foreign hero would pop up, they were either always wearing some costume that screamed “FLAG!” to me or they spoke in some horrible stereotypical accent. Or both! Looking at a ton of the classic X-Men here, sadly. (Though these days, it’s REALLY gotten a lot better.)

I used to consider myself a decent comic book historian. But over the last several years, I can’t really do that anymore, because my exposure to the world of comics is pretty homogeneous. I’m really getting curious about superheroes that are CREATED by people in those countries and not just a white English speaking dude. I mean, take a Japanese superhero. When they should up in the Avengers or the Justice League… Shouldn’t they look more like Ultraman, Devilman or a Sailor Scout and less like say, Katana?

Look at Darna again. If you saw her and had to figure out what country she originated from, I would NOT have thought the Philippines. I honestly would have thought, with her helmet and costume, late Golden Age American, similar to the Phantom Lady.

Taking Cybersix here. I would have assumed Late 90s European, especially when you look at the every unique B&W style the comic series has.

Nope, early 90s from Argentina.

What about Gunturgen here? I would have assumed late 90s/early 00s, North American.

I was right about the date, but the location is Indonesia.

Diabla? Australia.

Karabasan? Turkey.

I guess what I’m trying to get at here, because I’m pretty sure I’m not getting it into proper words… I feel like an ignorant honky, like I should have been more aware of all these creations and the creators behind them. For all my pride I had in being well versed in comic book history, I’m VERY lacking in the subject when it comes to the entire world. And I’m looking forward to discovering more about them.

But don’t get me wrong though. I still love me some Captain Britain. :)

Canon: Set within any time period in Blood+ canon starting from the 1800's to 2007.

Alternate Dimensions

 Post-Canon: (Note: I usually make Saya wake up early from hibernation by killing off Hagi.) Settings may vary. The time ranges from the years, 2011-above. Saya lives with Kai and her nieces in Okinawa. She also pursues her dream of traveling the world with or without her Chevalier, Hagi.

Little Red Princess:  Settings range from old times to modern days. Her name may be Saya or Sara. Ages range from 3-10, 14. She can either be a Chiropteran or a human.

 A True Chiropteran Queen: In this verse, Sara and Diva are raised among their own kind. Their grandmother and great-aunt rule over Germany. Chiropterans may or may not rule the entire world.

The Blood Red Queen: In this dimension, Saya is a wicked Chiropteran Queen who freely feeds on the blood of humans.

Chef: Saya Otonashi inherited the Snow Rose restaurant from her grandmother, Yukiko Otonashi. Not only is she the owner of the restaurant, she is the head chef of Snow Rose. She aims to bring happiness with her cooking.
