as we all know i LOVE rite of passage (detective comics #618-#621) and to the father i never knew (batman #480). i have analyzed them so much & i will continue to analyze them so much more in the future. they are so, so dear to me. i look at them with heart eyes.

at the same time, i blame them for fanon drakes.

because listen--the concepts that fanon drakes largely came out of are from these particular potrayals of them & particular panels from them--rite of passage is famous for the postcard letter, which fandom warped to mean they don't call tim (along with the drakes as selfish ceos) and the way thay they're portrayed as ostentatiously wealthy with the million dollar jet (leading to tim & the idea that he grew up ostentatiously weathly in the vein of bruce wayne wealth with his empty mansion and completely unaware what a banana costs or what normal people are like). the idea that they had tim as a business baby does have roots in jack saying that tim is going to take over the company one day (and tim not wanting to take over the company one day) in the father i never knew. now fanon has warped & exaggerated these traits immersely, but the initial concepts honestly stem mainly from alan grant's work on them (because it's the only time we see them *so* ostentatiously wealthy, on everyone else/the vast majority of the time they drakes are upper class but also jack and dana make tim do chores and he has normal sized rooms and boarding schools).

and i just wanna talk a little bit about how and why those traits came to be under him & why they ended up working in interesting ways in canon but end up falling flat in fanon. because those traits were put there for very specific reasons & when you lose or alter the context of them, it takes away what's interesting about them existing to begin with.

because let's give the main context for them: the drakes were this way under alan grant. and when alan grant is writing, alan grant is gonna put his agenda in there. and i say that in an entirely neutral way. and in the 80s, alan grant was an anarchist--notably creating the character of lonnie machin aka anarky. which brings us to our second main context: though he was never even a contender for it, alan grant had created lonnie with the thought that he could maybe make lonnie the third robin (unbeknownst to grant, wolfman and o'neil had already decided on and were creating tim drake specifically for the role--there were no other real contenders at the time).

so when you read through grant's issues on batman and on how he wrote the drakes you do have to take into consideration the following: that grant had a statement to make & thay he had a clear interest in foiling the robin that was created with that of the one he tried to. he wanted to explore a story of capitalistic greed and exploitation and its negatives. so when he writes the drakes as greedy, as ostentatious, as bitter people who argue over a beleaguered secretary's head in rite of passage it's because he has to *set the stage for how this greed will lead to their downfall*. and it does! it gets them kidnapped, it gets their secretary killed. it is a *lesson*, cautioning against greed--does he not have them also lament while they were kidnapped thay had they known what life had coming, they would have chosen to not waste any of the good things (their son)-- the things that *really* matter, not their greed or that which came of it. it is why that as they're reaping the consequences of their greed, tim is simultaneously in his own battle with anarky--so that he can be foiled against him, and making tim's parents stand for everything anarky fights against is *part of tim's foiling against lonnie*, part of his ideological fight with him--as tim is winning, his parents are losing. as tim walks away from lonnie, proud to be able to tell bruce that he tracked him down all by himself, proud to have won, tim is about to receive the worst news--that bruce was unable to save his mom and his dad is comatose, who paid the ultimate price for their greed. the exaggerated awful traits of the drakes work here *because* it fits into the bigger story as a whole--they need to be that awful to make a statement on how capitalism and greed kills and ruins you. and even then grant is not without sympathy for this--tim, as the person who loses so much as a result of everything, is treated very sympathetically despite being a foil for lonnie. tim may have won the battle against lonnie, but he lost so much more. even jack and janet are allowed their moment of realization that they made the wrong decisions before being punished for them. it works to service the inherent political statements embedded within. the exaggerated awful traits work as social commentary.

even in to the father i never knew, the themes of greed & what greed will cost are there (though there are also lots of other delicious themes as well). in here, tim and his lack of greed is played against the greed of his father and phil marin--his father wants him to take over the company, but tim wants to take care of the city--and meanwhile jack's company is being embezzled from by a man he trusts who *tim* ultimately stops. jack's greed and refusal to know his son almost loses him everything and he is unaware of it all. tim knows everything but can't tell him anything. again, jack's exaggerated awful traits work here as *social commentary*.

and when you take away this social commentary aspect of their traits when you exaggerate them and just make them awful to tim, you do start to lose what made these traits *work* in the comics. because then you just get awful for the sake of being awful. irredeemable with no remorse. a rich kid needing to be saved by a rich man. you lose the meat of what their exaggerated negative traits wete supposed to stand for when you lose the interplay of class and social commentary.

SO many thoughts about how grant wrote the drakes in comparison to literally everyone else #and him making them snootier and more ostentatious worked in the greater context of the story #regarding how greed will lose you everything #which is why (and this is important) they regretted their choices #and that's what the fanon of just making them awful tends to miss--the commentary of Why they were like that #and how their own greed led to their undoing not anything they did to tim

If anyone was wondering why there were no musical updates for so long; aside from life stuff yadda yadda, main reason is that weibo had a bullshit update that blocks access to browsing user profiles if you don't have weibo account.

It has a roundabout but it's mundane and annoying (zooming out the website view, so you don't need to scroll to click newly posted pictures, then quickly opening the hq photo in another tab, before the login popup blocks you off) 💀 It's still working normally on mobile, but for sake of efficiency (translating captions and file management) I prefer desktop.

And making a weibo account isn't really an option since you need a chinese phone number to register and sometimes it requires you to send them ID. So yeah, no 🙃

I feel like Gojo becoming a vessel, and especially a vessel for Yuta is shitty writing. Listen I completely get the perspective of Yuta, and I don't blame him for this action. He is Gojo's unofficial successor and he knows they have to push the limits in order to win against Sukuna because Sukuna is incredibly powerful and he is the current biggest problem they are all facing. But this is wrong on sooooooo many levels.

First of all, why give Yuuji that fuck ass montage of him switching bodies with people if he was not going to fucking swap with Gojo, I would have honestly let it go because Yuuji is the main character and was literally born with the ability to do so. Now WHY TF WOULD IT BE YUTA TAKING KENJAKU'S TECHNIQUE TO GO INTO GOJO'S BODY?!!!!

I think his skin fucking crawled at the thought of his body being used after his death. I think he saw what happened to Geto and for the first time in his life Gojo was truly afraid of death and what it would mean for him to actually die.I think he wanted to die for sure, like he wanted to be at rest with the people he cared about, but I think that after witnessing what happened to Geto first hand, that he would not have agreed to be used after his death unless he deemed it absolutely necessary. He literally was crippled with guilt for not disposing of geto's body properly and indirectly causing his possession and now you're telling me that he is a-okay with being a weapon even after his death????

i'm so mad at the missed potential of the yabusame post chapter 3, they do nothing!! i sometimes forgot that reko was even there and that is a waste, actually like 80% of the cast became npc this chapter which makes me terribly mad but i think alice and reko are the worst case (yes worst than shin even though he became just a regular npc in logic route which is the worst waste ever, but he compared to the yabusames will have his story developed you know, since nankidai completely gave up on the yabusames, especially reko). The entire reason for that is because nankidai had planed to kill them in logic route so he pretty much forgot that they didn't die in emotion route and kinda forgot which is a recurring pattern in emotion route. Which i loathe because favoritism isn't good and all the emotion route haters will use this as a point. Nankidai clearly has is more interested in some characters than others and doesnt know the fuck to do with them. i am still baffled that alice had this little screen time considering that he is THE GUY THAT """""KILLED"""" midori, ESPECIALLY IN EMOTION ROUTE. he just say random line from time to time to remind you he exist which is a crime because alice is best boy and i love him. At least reko gets some good scenes with ranmaru and like talking about nao (once tho), and like the little singing where kanna did death metal head shakes. But alice gets nothing, NOTHING. and that is all caused because in logic route nankidai planned him to die either way so both reko and alice get nothing. Why i'm mader at this that the zero screen time shin or gin have is because i know they are gonna get stuff later on, shin because he is kinda in the center of the story and gin because he is close to sara, but i don't think we are gonna get that much with the yabusames honestly and that makes me mad. The lack of screen time for the main cast is mainly caused by the terrible pacing of chapter 3-1 but with the yabusames its just no real work because nankidai didn't consider it useful since he planned to kill them either way. And the worse is that so much could have been done really god dammit. Alice lost his little sister and kanna lost her older brother, they are shown to have hanged out together, make them build a connection build on their grief, which would lead to kanna having actual positive interaction with anybody in this cast and alice to be less of a loner. For reko focus on the grief of like in a single day pretty much lose her brother, losing nao unfairly, and finding the man who ruined her life and her brother's too. I know we already have some scenes that way but make them more impactful like in chapter 2. Make her be more protective after losing so much in like a day. MAKE HER HAVE A RELATIONSHIP WITH ANZU PLEASE. EVERY CHARACTER DUMMIES PAIR MAKE SENSE AND ARE LOGICAL EXCEPT THE YABUSAMES AND ANZU. Oh also i think of sara finding out alone that that nao wasn't supposed to die and was brought here for no reason except raising mishima survival rate should be something that the whole cast should know actually, in general can THE WHOLE CAST be involved, this is the closest they have ever been and yet they are so distant. its a waste and i don't think it will be better because considering new characters and everything i don't think the yabusames will be relevant until the ending which sucks.

A little while ago, I wrote a fic that I'm dying to share, but I know I'll never work up the courage to post- and I don't fully know why, because it's not even that filthy. It's just a one-shot (heh) about Wyll at the Elfsong, quietly jerking off one night to the soft noises of Astarion and my Tav making love in secret.

His cheeks are burning, he's conflicted because it's been like this every night for the past tenday, and he knows he should let them know that he can hear them, but he can't bring himself to do it: he tells himself that it's because they deserve this time, this happiness, and to enjoy each other and their mutual love as much as they can, but it's no use. He knows that's bullshit, and while he swears he really does believe it, he also knows that in reality, the main reason he can't say anything is that if he were to say something, they might stop.

He isn't even sure if he wants her, him, both of them, or just to watch two beautiful people who are clearly in love pleasure each other (while putting on a bit of a show for him), but each night he wakes to a sweet moan and the bed's telltale creaks, he can't help but stroke himself in time with them under the covers, biting his hand to keep quiet, and then sucking his own release off his fingers in shame to "hide the evidence".

Do I have a voyeurism kink? Not typically, no. But do I eroticize shame, and get hopelessly turned on by the thought of a good, sweet, morally upstanding guy having a self-indulgent and utterly shameful wank to something he knows he shouldn't wank to? Whoo, boy. Whooooo boy.

The David Jacobs Costume Analysis. Or, if you don't like the 1992 costumes you are wrong and here is why (with pictures!)

We all know and love the change in David's costume in the 1992 movie Newsies. But this gradual change is more than just a loss of layers or a loosening of buttons. It offers a visual representation of David's character arc from the beginning of the movie to the end.

And historical dress/fashion plays a significant part in this achievement.

Let's begin at the beginning...

This is David when we meet him, and already without any historical context viewers can see a stark contrast between him and the newsies. His shirt is buttoned all the way to the top and fits him nicely, he's got a watch chain in his buttonhole, and this distinguished gentleman is even wearing a tie! But wait! Look to history! There's more!

Take a look at the vest David is wearing, specifically at the lapel shape. You may have noticed it before, because David's lapels (as far as I'm aware) are the only ones that have this particular shape among our main cast. This lapel type is called a peaked lapel (aka a pointed or step roll collar), and they just so happen to be the most popular or the most fashionable lapel style for men in 1899. They also have a reputation for being the most formal lapel cut. Additionally, if you take a closer look, the vest David is wearing when we meet him has a pattern that suggests that this vest is made from flannel. A very fashionable fabric for men's vests and trousers in the late 18th century. But why are these details of David's vest significant? Well, let me ask you this: did you know David wears two different vests? The right hand picture above is the last time we see David wearing his fancy, peaked lapel, flannel vest: during Seize the Day. For the rest of the movie when we see David in a vest, it's this one:

You'll notice that this vest has no lapel at all. This style is usually worn under a jacket as David does during the rally. It appears to be made from wool broadcloth or felt, a fabric generally seen worn by the upper class during this time period. Still, it is definitely less formal when worn without the accompanying jacket. But maybe I'm getting ahead of myself. The main take away from David's costume at the beginning of the movie from both a visual and a historical perspective, is that literally none of the newsboys we meet are better dressed than David Jacobs. Why is that? I would argue that David is dressed the way he is because he's trying to convey a collected, and perhaps even a mature front. He cares about how people perceive him, and wants to be taken seriously. But then, as the movie progresses, we see this carefully dressed boy disappear. By the time we get to David's apartment and meet his family, his vest has already been unbuttoned. And, gosh golly, what is this? He's loosened his tie!

As we get to know David better, as he becomes better acquainted and comfortable with Jack and the newsies, he literally begins to loosen up, shedding formalities and layers one by one. By Seize the Day Reprise, he's even lost his vest! Which is more significant than you may think.

Vests were very important in the 18th century. Even laborers and working men wore vests over their shirts. It was actually considered improper or inappropriate for a man to appear only in his shirt. But David doesn't seem to care. Maybe he reasons that his shirt being buttoned all the way to the top makes up for the scandalous lack of a vest. You'll notice that even without his vest, David stands out among the other newsies who have all unbuttoned their collars and/or the top buttoned of their undershirts. (Mush has even shed his shirt entirely.) Or maybe he doesn't care anymore? This is also the first time we can see David's shirt unobstructed, and therefore the first time another detail stands out. It's just an ordinary button up shirt right? Nope. It's actually a popover shirt. This type of shirt is buttoned only halfway down so that it is pulled over the head instead of slipped into from the sleeves. This was how any old shirt was constructed until 1871 when the modern button up (or 'coat shirt' as it was first called), was patented in London. By 1895, button ups were seen as standard. And while the button up gained popularity the popover become something closer to a t-shirt. It was less formal and less fitted.

So, underneath his fancy dandy vast, David is wearing a much more casual shirt. Even if he does still insist on top buttons for a little while longer, he is getting much more comfortable as time goes on. Literally and figuratively. David's second shirt is also a popover. Although it is possible that this one might simply be an old shirt of his father's, as it bears resemblance to earlier evening dress shirts of the 1860s.

By the end of the move, David has shed his tie, lost his vest, and has stopped caring about buttons and shirts. He no longer looks any different from Jack and the other newsies, he is no longer putting up a façade. Not because he's stopped wanting to be taken seriously, but because he doesn't need appearances anymore. The David on the above left is the David who wanted to be respected. The David on the above right is the David who used his voice to demand that respect. (And the David who handed Pulitzer his ass on a plate.)

One final comparison between the way David wears his newsboy hat at the beginning and then at the end of the movie. Because while it isn't particularly significant historically (there's no proper 1800s rule for how to wear a newsboy hat), it's clearly significant to David as a character. (His curls have been freed!)

In conclusion, with every item subtracted from David's wardrobe, we see him open up and loosen up. Newsies 1992 does an incredible job of using David's clothing and these little details to visually show his journey as a character. It's something hard to replicate in the stage musical, but something I think we can all appreciate in every iteration that cares enough to include it.

But of course, in my not so humble opinion, Newsies 1992 did it best.

“Look… I just don’t get why you wouldn’t want to go back to Potomac. From what I’ve read in your sophomore internship review, Dr. Rabin was genuinely impressed with you and said he’d be excited to have you back for the Senior internship. What happened? I – I would’ve understood anything, really. But Arkham? You really applied there?”

Professor Campbell’s office is a time capsule. A familiar, cozy environment that you’ve been inhabiting for a whole hour per week since the start of the last semester. Decorated with undemanding potted plants and cheesy motivational posters on the walls around you. The smell of paper and hibiscus hangs in the dry air, warmed up to an almost uncomfortable temperature by the ever-running radiator mounted to the wall. Usually, your presence in this room is accompanied by a sense of inner peace. One hour per week during which you’re allowed to fantasize about a glowing future as you sit in front of your academic mentor. But today, the tiny woman with the prominent smile lines is looking at you with thinly-veiled indignation. It’s an ugly expression on her, you decide. People like Campbell are better off smiling and laughing, like the human embodiment of a Golden Retriever.

You shift in your seat, resisting the urge to gesture with your hands to avoid seeming defensive. No, you keep your posture open and inviting on purpose. The body language of a genuine person.

“Potomac Psychiatric Hospital is just not what I want,” you start, speaking gently in an effort to make her emphasize with you. “I need a challenge. I don’t want to hang around rich people with mild cases of burnout all the time.”

Professor Campbell’s face scrunches up with mild displeasure, and you feel the need to quickly correct yourself.

“No offense, of course. But my main interest does lie in… the tough cases. And there are tough cases at Potomac. Jeremiah Arkham himself called his asylum the ‘Ivy League of insanity’. And Dr. Crane used to be a professor here. You knew him, right?”

Campbell flinches, and you could swear you were able to see an expression of genuine fear in her eyes for a fraction of a second. And for that fraction of a second, you were speaking to a prey animal instead of your favorite psychology professor.

“Well… Professor Crane – Doctor Crane was a… well-known member of the faculty. By which I mean everyone knew of him and the kind of seminars he held. Nobody really knew anything about the man aside from his special interest in fear-based disorders and most likely crippling caffeine addiction. Back when I knew him, he was… eccentric to say the least. But he knew what he was teaching about. Students fled his lecture hall as soon as he was done speaking, but he really was a brilliant mind. He was a professor for a reason, after all.”

You nod along to her words, unable to stop that little spark of personal curiosity from growing and festering within you. If everything goes well, you’d be able to witness firsthand how peculiar this man is for the entire summer. Much to her dismay, Campbell’s tales only serve to encourage your decision.

“So, if the two of you knew each other, there’s already a networking opportunity here,” you conclude, folding your hands in your lap.

“Yes but –“

“Also, Arkham is right here in Gotham. I don’t have to rent a new apartment anywhere else, I already know the city, and so on and so forth.” You feel a little bad for cutting her off, but it’s almost ridiculous how much she’s trying to dissuade you from your plans. Campbell doesn’t bother to hide her displeasure anymore, letting out a sigh as she taps a manicured nail against the porcelain of her teacup.

“Listen,” she starts, choosing her words carefully, “we’ve had many students apply to Arkham Asylum for an internship over the years. And those whose spirits didn’t get crushed during the interview were worn down by the work itself. Besides, the influx of applications is monumental. There’s no guarantee that you’ll even get invited to the interview. In my humble opinion, you should write Potomac an email and – “

“I already got invited.” Campbell’s eyes widen, and the silence prompts you to continue. It’s a little difficult to not seem smug as you speak, but you manage. “The interview is this Friday.”

“Friday…” Campbell reaches out for her cup of tea, trying to wash away the bitter taste on her tongue with a mouthful of hibiscus and apple. In that moment, you feel a little bad for the professor. She’s always tried to make time for you and dutifully offered help wherever she could. And in return, you’re acting childish, trying to incite a one-sided contest over an internship. You let out a sigh along with her, shifting in your seat; softening up.

“This is… something that’s really important to me,” you offer, trying to apologize without saying it. “Potomac was a huge help for getting into the swing of things. I… learned a lot about the basics. You nod, feeling in real time how your smile relaxes into something more genuine. Suddenly, the warmth in the room doesn’t feel oppressive anymore. As the mood switches to something more cheerful, the two of you talk some more about your final thesis before you decide to end the conversation on a good note. Campbell rises from her seat along with you, and you mirror her smile, relieved to finally be done with this interrogation. Your mentor heads to the door after you, gently patting your shoulder.

The plan I have in mind:

In my AU, I generally left the issues related to Heaven until later (season 2).

In my mind, the first season is about the members of the hotel forming bonds and starting to support each other.It included character development of characters like Angel and Husk. That's why the greatest showdemon arc happened at the beginning of the first season and the team was starting to work with each other and really get to know each other.As the season progresses,

the Overlord meeting

(Alastor knows who Misfortune is. In his past, Alastor tried to hunt Serenity like other overlords, but Serenity ended it with a conversation instead of a fight.They have no friendship. Serenity revealed her identity after arriving at the hotel in the 2nd season

(The reason for this was that Season 2 was generally related to the backgrounds of the characters, and since Serenity was directly connected to Alastor's background, I put her in that section)

Alastor's fight with Vox, Angel's confrontation with Val, Mentioning the past of Husk and Angel (This part takes place in the scene where Angel and Husk are discussing their problems before the song Loser Baby)

Constantine is also a character from Season 1. After the Greatest Showdemon arc (Not exactly after that arc, but I didn't know exactly which events to put. After the team members and the hotel have seriously improved) when the hotel makes serious progress, Charlie invites her brother to the hotel to show her progress. (Charlie and Lucifer's relationship is seriously bad in this AU, so Charlie doesn't try to reach her father,she thinks "he won't listen to me anyway)

And Constantine, who saw sinners improving in a truly strange way He gets the proof he wants And after this thing, he personally goes to his Father and says these words to Lucifer after a serious conversation.

"I will not repeat myself again, father. Consider this as a warning from your son. Either you put your pride aside and go to your daughter and listen to her ideas and plans. or As a result of the decision you made, not only will you lose your daughter whom you love dearly, but you will also not have a son. Make your choice father, you don't have much time. Until then, I hope you have fun in your eternal loneliness."

After this conversation, Lucifer comes to the hotel and confronts Charlie. listens to her ideas.

I don't have a full timeline, but in general, all the events I write about happen before the heaven arc.I wanted Charlie to go to heaven with as much evidence as possible and to gain self-confidence and become more of a leader in the meantime.

If I were to write in summary form. (I don't write in the form of a timeline, just events)

Season 1

-Charlie's meeting with Adam

-Team bonding

-Greatest show demon arc (this is included in the team's bonding tool)

-Overlord meeting

-Vox and AI fight

-Angel getting rid of Val

-Constantinen's arrival at the hotel.

(There may be a lot different arcs in this season, I really don't know, most things are still WIP)

SEASON 1 in general A season where the Vees are the main enemies.

Season 2 (The main enemy in this season may be Roo, but I don't know)

-Serenity comes to the hotel

-Lucifer comes to the hotel

-Charlie goes to heaven alone.

-she meets all the true archangels one by one and finally tries to convince Azrael.

So yes, these are what I have in mind, but my thoughts are generally WIP.As I said, this is your story and I'm not a good writer, so it would probably be better if you decide the plot yourself! 🌟❤️

Eddie Diaz: 7x7, 7x9 and 7x10

Eddie Diaz is my favorite character but I still don't like the storyline they gave him for the end of the season.

(Full disclosure: I did a similar post about Bobby's storyline but before 7x9 airs, I decided to do one about Eddie too.)

It's been a couple of weeks since the plot or whatever TM (showrunner) is trying to do with Eddie's character was revealed (man is obsessed with his deceased wife's doppelgänger but he ignores the woman who's been by his side the entire time) and I still HATE it. Therefore, I'm not looking forward to whatever this raggedy "Vertigo" storyline is supposed to be for multiple reasons.

The main reason why I don't like it is because IMO, Eddie's storylines have always taken a backseat to those written for other main characters and the truth is he hasn't had a storyline all his own since he was involved in the illegal fight club in season 3. All of his other storylines were made to be about someone else or they weren't given adequate room to be developed, i.e., the shooting, his PTSD and his return to the 118 at the end of season 5. His breakdown was shoved into the last 5 minutes of 5x13 then he went to therapy once afterwards but the audience didn't see any more of his sessions.

Also, if his storyline didn't take a backseat, he was sidelined for the majority of a season (for most of season 6, he was treated like a side character with nothing to do for 13 out of the 18 episodes and the ones they gave him in 6x7, 6x14, 6x15, 6x17 and 6x18 were lackluster at best) and they were treated like "This will do" for his character while other mains got-well thought-out storylines that didn't make the audience dislike them.

Three things that have been magnified about Eddie since 7x5 aired is (1) people who already didn't like him (it's possible they're jealous of him because he's so beautiful and Buck's in love with him) despise him even more without a valid reason; (2) people who hate cheating storylines have already dismissed him and are now classifying him as irredeemable and for whatever reason they don't think he deserves redemption or to work through it even though others (Hen and Buck) have cheated too; and (3) those who shipped Buddie before, no longer believe Buck should wait around for Eddie since Buck's in a relationship with a discount dollar store version of Eddie. I mean let's be real here for a minute because the show literally wrote the character of T*mmy to be a cheap bargain basement version of Eddie Diaz.

Aside from him emotionally cheating with his dead wife's doppelgänger 🙄, it appears there was no real thought put into his season 7 arc and for those who've seen the movie "Vertigo", they might be interested but I am not. I get it, he's grieving the "relationship" he thought he could have had with Shannon but wouldn't it have made more sense to let him deal with his grief in therapy LAST SEASON WHEN THEY DIDN'T GIVE HIM ANYTHING ELSE TO DO?

YES! They could have used those 13 episodes to allow him to go to therapy so he could have already worked through this situation with his deceased wife instead of shoving it into the end of an already robust and limited season. Or was the F*X network against letting him move past it too? I think it was poor planning and lazy storytelling but that's just me. Also, why is Maris*l still around? Eddie's storyline could have worked without her so what's the real goal here? It's unclear if his storyline will end the way it did in season 5 with him sliding down the firefighter's pole and rejoining the team like everything had been fixed but hopefully that won't happen this time and he'll get the help he needs.

Finally, as a Buddie shipper, I WILL NOT SETTLE FOR A KNOCKOFF VERSION OF A RELATIONSHIP FOR EDDIE OR BUCK BECAUSE THEY BOTH DESERVE BETTER. Therefore, why should Eddie or Buck settle for something that doesn't compare to EVERYTHING THEY'VE BUILT TOGETHER FOR THE PAST SIX YEARS?

IMO, they shouldn't and it's time for the show to stop delaying their CANON love story. I for one don't want to sit through another season of LIs being thrown at them like javelins and hoping one will stick. This is EXHAUSTING just like season 5 was and I'll watch the episode after it airs so I can fast foward through the parts I don't want to see.

thinking about dream daddy again and god brian makes me so mad

#random thoughts #dream daddy #HIS ROUTE ISN'T EVEN ABOUT HIM #okay so the thing about the fleshed-out routes is you can tell a lot about a character depending on how many people are around #like with craig his first two dates involve at least one of his kids and a lot of social interaction because he's so overworked #so his final date where you just spend time with HIM one-on-one hits a lot harder #while with joseph he surrounds you with people but takes little periods of time to be alone with you to make a move #before instantly surrounding you with people again so you don't have enough time to question if he just made a pass at you #which is why his final date with you on the boat hits so hard: he purposefully isolated you in a place you could not easily leave #so he could make his move #and with brian... all his dates involve daisy in some way #which would imply he's trying to maintain some sort of distance? but he's not. he actively wants to befriend you #daisy and amanda keep tagging along... and for what? #they're eventually sidelined anyway! each date involves a moment where daisy and amanda are gone and you get a moment alone with brian #brian is the dad whose kid is the most present in his route and it says. literally nothing about him #make it so your character keeps inviting brian out and brian keeps making it a 'bring your kid and make it a playdate' thing or SOMETHING #maybe he's been raising daisy by himself for so long he's a bit rusty on how to interact with someone he's interested in? #on the second date daisy and amanda could have stayed home. it would change nothing #have daisy be sick and amanda be otherwise involved (maybe imply they're both faking to get out of fishing/get brian and mc to smooch) #like i don't think i'd mind daisy being around so much if she wasn't such a nothing burger of a character #give her some flaws! have amanda think she's weird or creepy! show us why she has no friends! #why is brian's route centered around our mc's daddy issues. we don't know his dad. we don't give a shit about his dad. #brian's route's main conflict ISN'T EVEN ABOUT HIM??? Too tired to write but also can't stop The Scenes™ from playing out in my mind.

#bits about Arvel's healing magic and also the man in the bar healing Kahn's broken bones #i mean it's not perfect and it's painful for both the man and Kahn for different reasons but it does work in the end #also just sort of trying to flesh out the healing magic in my head. for most people who have it (mostly loethan) it's close #range or on touch. depending on the person it might hurt or drain the caster too and they might have to be able to see #the specific injury or at least where it is (such as when the man in the bar has to cut into Kahn's leg and arm to see his bones) #it almost never works on nerve damage. never on organs except maybe internal bleeding or injuries so severe the organs are #exposed. (basically just trying to say it won't heal organ failure). so it's pretty much best for broken bones and cuts. works better the #more recent the injury was. technically has the ability to regrow limbs but that's most likely never shown. (torn between whether #or not veren gets his arm regrown or a prosthetic. probably prosthetic since he lost it years ago) #doesn't work on illnesses or poisoning or stuff like that. that's still the domain of alchemists. also since on the areas it shuts #does. I'm not retyping that. on the areas it does heal its just rapid cell regrowth which most of the time is fine. but then there's #Arvel. who can do it both on touch and at range and uses the whole rapid cell growth thing as a method of torture. add the whole #light minions thing and the fact that his abilities include a rapid healing factor on himself (and that unlike a lot of people #his abilities work rapidly on others and he can easily get over any drain it has on him) #and yeah it's understandable why Len loses the first fight and why a lot of people don't stand up to him much. even his wife who doesn't #have powers at all ends up progressively more afraid of him. like the only way to possibly wound him in a meaningful way is to get the #drop on him and find some way to inflict severe damage on a vital spot and keep whatever you used to do that inside of him long enough #for him to eventually not be able to heal around it anymore. i don't know just thinking about how he's such a twisting of typically 'good #guy' powers. like his main things are light and healing he should be the hero or like high up supporting cast but nope he's just #trying to subjugate everyone and rule the whole damn continent because of a might makes right ethos and the fact that he does #certainly have might on his side #maggot original
