“Oh, Giada, thank the gods...” Auriel murmured as his older sister pulled him away from the horrible conversation about Vacuan trade disputes he’d been stuck in. Look, he loved the nitty gritty of international economics as much as the next guy, but that so-and-so from Vale was so dry! And boring! And old!

Auriel blinked.

“Wait, what’s this about a snack? Are you hungry? Do you want to go grab a bite to eat?”

Which was strange, because he thought that Giada lived for this sort of thing. Primping and preening and showing off. He didn’t get it himself. Events like this... well, they were more of father’s and Lorah’s purview. They enjoyed it. They liked showing off and gathering crowds of people to hand off of their every word.

He was not. Truthfully he’d much rather be in his office or at home with his cat. But Giada was in town and he knew she liked this kind of thing too. But... maybe she liked spending time with family even more? It tracked. It’d been a while since they’d seen each other and... wow.

He couldn’t believe what she was wearing! It was... okay, it was very her, but... woah.

“I don’t know what you’re hearing about a vending machine,” Auriel chuckled nervously, hoping desperately that she hadn’t spotted him looking, “but I won that fight, I swear.”

Does anyone think about how much the Last Dragonborn changes as their quest goes on?

Not like, character building or learning experiences.

I'm talking about having the ability to eat immortal souls and having to just live with that.

A mortal vessel given the gift (curse) of killing and consuming other immortal beings; personally made by Auriel Himself. What does that feel like to gain the knowledge of eons just shoved right into your brain, willing or not. To have experiences and understandings no one else will ever match with you.

Your only similar peers are your enemies. Destined to fight or dominate all of them as The Last Dragonborn.

What does it feel like to make room in yourself for other souls so much larger than your small, mortal, body?

What does it feel like to be a black hole that will infinitely take and take and take and add more and more to your being.

Are you yourself anymore? Do those dragon souls persist inside you?

Are you even mortal anymore?
