Evil Gaius but he doesn’t defect. He stays in the Union and convinces himself and others that he’s justified.

Evil Gaius that people look up to, to protect them. That still protects them because they’re just normal people who can do no harm to peace without the weapons the Union hoards for no one else.

Evil Gaius but he is a genuine threat because no one knows he’d kill his allies for peace. That he still cares about Hannah and her final wish, but has accidentally twisted it to the point it’s broken in two and now he’s juggling good glass cups that he’s filled with polluted water.

honestly i just. don’t think satoru views himself as a good person!! in canon or in this au. i don’t think he hates himself — his ego is obviously through the sky (for good reasons) — but the manga makes it pretty obvious that he doesn’t see himself as especially good. i honestly don’t think satoru sees himself as much of a person at all.

and even though that obviously wouldn’t be as prominent in a no curses au, bfb!gojo still doesn’t really view himself as that great of a guy. i think it’s less that he believes he’d treat you badly, and more that he just.. doesn’t believe he could really be in a relationship. and treat you as well as you deserve. not in the sense that he’s a player (<- i Hate this take more than anything <3) but just that he can’t really open up to anyone!! he doesn’t think reader could understand him, and he doesn’t trust himself to be the kind of person they’d deserve.
