A bit of an AOT request, specifically for our handsome Captain Levi. This is hella angst. So warning there. Y/N was some how able to get into the scouts and make her way up towards Levi's squad. And from there, their relationship blossomed. However, Y/N carries a secret. She is terminally ill. She begged the doctor doing the physical to let her in the scouts. If she was going to die anyways, she may as well die fighting for humanity. She kept this hidden from Levi.

Until one day she finally decides to confess to him. After confessing Levi starts noticing things how she get's out of breath a little more easily than the rest of the squad. Or that she sleeps quite often. Just small things like that. In the end he see's her slowly deteriorate and inevitably she passes away in bed in his arms. Yet again, he loses somebody else that was close to his heart.

the scout regiment is known for its' bravery and dedication to protect the people of paradis. you managed to join the organization after training as part of the cadet corps for days on end. despite the shortage of its members, the legion held its expectations for volunteers as fatality rates remain high. today is your first day of formal training and your seniors have just returned from an expedition, heads held high as they made another victory with minor injuries. you watched from as distance as people began to crowd around them, rejoicing and offering them some sort of gratitude. a while later, erwin can finally be seen from your perspective and next to him was the man you've always looked up to.

levi ackerman.

his and erwin's name were spoken like prayers and songs, from every corner of the island. you've seen him many times before and hoped he'd spare you at least 3 seconds worth of eye contact or some sort of acknowledgment. little did you know that keith shadis had already mentioned your name and how the rest of the trainees admire you. you enjoyed your time around the division you first became a part of, every single one of them looked up to you. the captain entrusted you to lead the troop and you did so with great pride. older members of the regiment warmed up to you rather quickly, commending your hard work at this early stage.

little by little, you noticed that fatigue took over your system more often. at first you brushed it off thinking that it's just your body adjusting to the rough expeditions and using the ODM gear for longer periods of what you were accustomed to. after more convincing from petra, you decided to consult a doctor just to see if you should be concerned about it. your fingers gripped unto the sleeves of your shirt as you waited for the results, you specifically pleaded for petra to keep this between the both of you. she had been kind enough to accompany you the entire time and managed to convince everyone that it's just that time of the month.

the doctor ran you through everything and all of a sudden you felt depressed. you've worked hard to become part of the scout regiment and everything suddenly feels out of reach. petra was called for a mission that day and they wouldn't be back for about three more. an officer said that levi will lead your squad for this expedition due to your sick leave. now you feel even more guilty for giving him more responsibility than he already has. you went to the field and trained to pass time while the others slaughtered titans, this is the fifth time you nearly blacked out today so you decided to head back to the quarters.

imagine your surprise when levi called for you in his office at 5am the next day. his squad was wiped out and petra who came to your aid unfortunately got caught in the mess. a few of your subordinates survived with lethal injuries. levi handpicked you to become part of his new squad and said nothing much after. his eyes remain unfazed with a glint of regret. your shoulders slumped as you walked back into your quarters, shutting the door behind as tears rolled down your cheeks. helpess. with the uncertainty of survival you had already expected this but if you were there, maybe it was you who could have died. maybe you could have saved more people.

the following day, everything fell back into place. you're training with levi's new squad and were relocated to guard an abandoned village west from wall sina after hearing about suspicious activity and to protect eren from pesky military police. it felt nice, the kids were enjoying each other's company but the emptiness at the end of the day was unsettling. today was one of those sleepless nights, your mind wandering off to the inevitable fate of yours. death from this stupid terminal illness.

" have trouble sleeping? " levi spoke, his back facing you as he sips tea inf ront of the fire pit. your cheeks flared as you sat down next to him, " yeah, have been for these past few nights captain. " he scoffs slightly at that, " it's not good to have no sleep at all, how can you keep up with these kids? and please. drop the formalities. " you nodded with a bashful smile and hugged your knees closer to your chest. this feels nice, you thought to yourself before sipping your own cup of tea.

the succeeding days were the same; you wake up, work out, dine, formulate plans, and converse among yourselves. from sunrise 'til sundown, you spent time with the kids and got to know them one by one. you realized that everyone thought the same, that they missed being carefree kids but they wouldn't have it any other way. these kids are putting their lives on the line so that future generations wouldn't have to go through the same experiences. you listened to them and somehow, you found hope once again. after supper and cleaning the dishes, you're left alone with levi seating by the fire pit.

most of the time you'd sit with him in silence but tonight was different.

you want to make the first move and get to know a little bit more about him. you were about to speak but he beat you to it. " these rascals... they remind me of who i used to be. burning with rage and desire. the only difference was my uncertainty. sure, i was fighting for the sake of survival and people in poverty like myself. i kept fighting but at the end of the day, i still wasn't satisfied. i'm proud of who they'd come out to be. i'm certain their goals are clearer than ours, don't you think? " it's the first time levi said something with so much depth and emotion clearly visible in the way his eyes softened.

you found yourself smiling at this, " hmm, the kids have been determined at such a young age. i think you're quite similar to them, captain. more than you think you do. i guess you just have to find where your heart is taking you. with the limited time we have, i cannot assure whether or not you'll find your purpose. but what's life without the thrill? " you looked back at him only to find him wearing a fond smile. " captain? " he waves you off before standing up and dusting his bottoms off.

" get some sleep, we'll survey the area tomorrow. if you ask for five more minutes, i'll have the kids flood your room. "

levi's facade remained the same, especially around the kids. but you saw the fond look in his eyes when he watches from a distance. when your eyes met his, he'd immediately turn away and pretend to be interested at the clouds above. the kids are outside, doing the laundry as usual, leaving you and levi alone at the dining area. " captain~ you seem to be smiling more these days. " you teased, washing the potatoes diligently since braus asked for them. how can you resist their desperate faces for some mashed roasted herbed potatoes? levi rolls his eyes and hit your foot with the mop in his hand.

" if you speak too much i'll get teased to death by kirstein and springer. you nag at me for holding such a grim face and now that i'm smiling at you, you still do. " the way he said that with such a serious face made it difficult for you to hold your laughter. the kids rushed back only to see you clutching your stomach from laughing too hard. " i-is everything okay? " sasha stutters from behind the rest. " oh dear, haha -- it's just tha --- " all of a sudden you started coughing from laughter but their faces fell as soon as blood dripped unto your handkerchief.

" alright, you kids finish up for lunch, we'll sort this out. " you shook your free hand in front of levi whose eyebrows were tightly knit from confusion, " i'm fine, i'll just wash these and i'll help out. don't worry about me. " you then excused yourself from them before heading outside to wash your handkerchief and mouth. you stared at your own reflection from the pail and saw that your face had slightly lost weight, eye bags darker from probably both your illness and lack of sleep. " bullshit! i think i've known you long enough to notice that you're straight up lying to me. " levi spoke as he knelt down next to you, using his handkerchief to wipe a spot you missed. " i'm not pressuring you to talk right now, but i'm worried and i'm sure the kids are too. i just hope you'd tell me before it's too late. " he says before heading back, leaving his handkerchief on the bench.

you sigh softly, a sad smile forming on your lips as realization hits you. you have been enjoying life with the team, too much that it felt so real. unfortunately for you, happiness is not a guaranteed prestige of yours. from that day onwards, the kids noticed how fatigued you look and took on your chores for you. mikasa had been such a sweetheart to look after you and they visited you in bed every now and then. you thanked heavens that titans haven't been interrupting your serenity. but levi.... he sat on a chair next to your bed every evening. brushing your hair and keeping you warm with his presence alone. it hurt.

the way your heart pounded when he held your hand to check if they were cold or when his thumb caresses the flesh on your cheeks to call your attention during the times you've spaced out. and that's what he did at this moment. his fond eyes searching yours for answers.

" levi...? can you repeat what you told me last night? " you spoke weakly, smiling despite the hot tears dripping down your cheeks.

you felt levi's hand hold unto your waist and the other guiding your head to his chest. the sound of his heartbeat soothing the melancholy flooding your own.

" we'll meet again someday... i'm not sure when and i'm not sure how. but i swear that my heart and yours will find each other. you're the only one i have ever loved and the only one i will. you've got me wrapped around your finger, my love. and i always will be. " you smiled with quivering lips, staring back into his eyes as you memorize his face. the last thing you felt were his warm lips pressed against the back of your cold hands and his hot tears that fell along with your very last.

- he followed that corner and it eventually led to a well hidden room of sorts, only to find you in your blood-stained clothes yet none of those were yours. you murdered your kidnapper.

- after dealing with the people involved and thanking them for their cooperation, he held your smaller hand the entire time you guys headed home.

- you told him everything that happened without him asking, all they have left to discuss among themselves is whether you'll join them or not.

louis moriarty

- now this grown man is still very gentle and caring, he's opposed to the idea of you being part of their schemes despite your new abilities. his concern is genuine, not only for you but everyone in the team.

- you used to rely on him to take care of you like he does for both his brothers and he doesn't think any different from the way he used to.

- with your eyes holding a great desire for murder and its gratifying outcome once the country has been reformed, he thinks that maybe you'll be of great help to them. but once again, he would have to think of it on his own leaving the rest of you to wait for his response.

- one morning he went to gather tea leaves from the backyard only to find you practicing how to handle different firearms with moran, he watched from a distance and found himself in awe of how much you have improved in just a matter of months.

- later that day he asked for you in his study to discuss his requests once you join their exhibitions and that is to make your safety a priority.

- we all know this man couldn't help but worry his ass off during those months you were gone.

sherlock holmes

- you and sherlock go hand in hand with this stubbornness which makes it a headache for watson to deal with the both of you.

- as sherlock's assistant detective, it's normal for you to be out on missions with him and you both have to go through mycroft scolding you which... obviously neither of you taken seriously.

- however this one time that got you both in a very sticky situation ended up with you kidnapped. it's been very risky since watson was busy assessing some other location leaving you and sherlock alone.

- he tried to find you and catch the culprit but he left nothing but a handkerchief with left over chloroform.

- sherlock's insomnia got worse as time went by and the help of both the yard and other detectives got them nowhere. he broke his violin during one of those sleepless nights and he ran to the moriarty brothers' manor seeking for william's help.

- william gladly took the offer and helped sherlock look for you. 3 days later you were found in a hotel further west of london with no visible injuries.

- sherlock thanks william from the bottom of his heart and took care of you despite your protests.

- he slept on the floor next to your bed and you often told him how life was like being held captive. you told him about how you were taught to become a murderer good enough to be hired as an assassin.

- with this revelation of yours, sherlock grew more protective of you and told you that you aren't allowed to act on a whim.

- if kyo had a male twin

• appearance wise, i think he would have a darker shade of orange -- nearing brown hair and rounder eyes compared to kyo.

• as a cat he would be rounder and fluffier, eyes that practically tempt you into petting him.

• his twin would probably be such a tease, especially once he noticed the slight crimson on kyo's cheeks whenever tohru's around.

• he would be definitely on the bubblier side and it rubs off on the people around him.

• despite being the younger twin, i see him taking good care of kyo and his brother doesn't need to voice out his thoughts.

• he's probably not good at comforting others through words as well due to losing their mother and being rejected by their father.

• despite all that he holds no grudges towards people who had done them wrong because he believes that it will only cause him more pain.

• as much as he teases kyo and pokes fun at him, they deeply care about each other and would do anything for the other.

• she's the only person that encourages kyo --- in subtle ways on how to deal with his feelings and express them little by little. she's probably proud to call kyo her brother.

• i think that she'd learned how to cook from watching tv or their favorite ramen stall and kyo considers her cooking to be his comfort food; often packing their school lunch early in the morning.

• she wears an anklet similar to kyo's bracelet as some sort of proof that they share the same burdens together.

• over all kyo and her relationship would be wholesome all throughout.

• i think most, if not all of us, agree that armin looks like the type to get all flustered with PDA & shy away from his emotions --- HOWEVER.

• rather than being all over you, he finds himself most comfortable with holding your hand or having an arm wrapped around your shoulders.

• he wouldn't mind you being clingy though 👀

• would occasionally place a gentle peck on your forehead, cheeks & his personal favorite; the palm of your hands.

• you guys' dates would mostly end up being in a library, café & restaurants with a nice warm atmosphere.

• i bet he would be the kind of guy to take you to the beach whenever you're stressed out in hopes of calming you down.

• gets very defensive when his friends tease you, if a man could bark his friends away, it's armin arlert.

• this lad over here would establish a routine with you (with your consent & opinions ofc)

• mondays to friday mornings are centered on school, you guys do your own thing at school & walk you home while making sure to stop by a convenience store for snacks, assuming that you guys don't live together yet.

• both of you make it a point to check on one another to make sure you guys aren't wearing yourselves out.

• which leads me to the conclusion that your parents grew very fond of him & treats him more like their child

• when you guys are having a sleepover, this whole lowkey facade of his takes a 180 and the second you reach the bedroom he'll shower you with cuddles and kisses.

• you would watch movies (mostly rom-com just bc armin makes it work okay) tucked in a warm futon with popcorn and candies between you two.

• armin strikes me as a very studious guy and he does this to ensure you guys' future together ^-^

• all in all armin cares about you so much and he doesn't mind being vulnerable to you. he is your safe haven, and so are you to him.

colt grice

• okay can we talk about how this perfect man deserves some more attention

• colt, my man, gives me disney's prince florian vibes. the soft-spoken, kind-hearted, & just an absolute dream.

• he's the kind of guy to take you to the park, a greenhouse, & WORKSHOPS!!!

• given the idea that he is in fact a shy little baby, he is actually pretty active with you. every date you guys have is different. mans has a quest planned out for y'all.

• at school i think that you might be the one to initiate skinship. doesn't have to be kisses on the lips, it's more of gently trailing your index on the back of his hand or rubbing a hand on his forearm when he gets a little anxious.

• the type to peek through your classroom's door because bubba's too shy to ask someone to call for you 🤧

• colt, in my opinion, is very domestic in private, now don't get me wrong he may be a little too shy in public because he isn't used to it but i promise you he takes on the nurturing role of the relationship more than you are.

• he helps you with cleaning, folding your clothes, and god if you guys get periods, he's got a whole pouch in his locker just for you.

• he doesn't do it intentionally, he happens to know you so well that he notices the slight change in your moods & cravings.

• colt often reads a book while you guys cuddle during the afternoons once all the work is done, he'd make you tea or whatever you want. he hums a tune, probably from old disney movies that his brother falco used to enjoy as a kid.

• your parents are more invested in your marriage than you and colt combined.

• okay, now if you happen to have a baby or a toddler somewhere around the house, someone keep this man from turning into a putty.

• as much as colt acts prim and proper most of the time, he has his moments where he just wants to be an entire mess. perhaps sleeping past his usual waking time, indulging in more snacks than usual. you know, loosen up? yeah, that is a side of his that only YOU will ever be allowed to see.

• so yes you and colt would be labeled as the: put-together couple who needs a little bit of adventure every now and then.

eren jaeger

• i hope i don't ramble too long because i love him sm

• mr. loverboy over here is a simp for you, more than you are a simp for him! he is not afraid to show you off and shower you with flattery. now he does this because he feels so lucky to have you.

• he can be a little cliché (well maybe not as much as jean --- more on that later), like he'll randomly interrupt your vacant class with a gift box he put together, & a bouquet. yes. (carla helped him pick out flowers from her shop)

• he's the type to crash his lips with yours in the middle of campus when you achieve something or when he does, vice-versa. if he plays in one of your school's teams, there just HAS to be a bet that if he wins he gets a kiss... or more... or something else.

• dates with eren are usually random than planned. like it pops in his head and he'll inform you right away. he respects your vacancy too of course but if you aren't he might pout just a little bit.

• his ideal dates are prop shop dates, going to hotspots, amusement parks, antique shops! & maybe late night drinks at a quiet bar where you can both enjoy the solace of the atmosphere.

• on special occasions, he does plan ahead. usually it's something on the simpler side. candlelit dinners at home or somewhere you guys both enjoy dining.

• if eren's had a bad day, best believe that he will run to you for comfort. only you can help keep his aggressive response to anger at bay.

• if given the chance he would take you around the world, he's that passionate in making sure you live a little

• hear me out... you and eren would probably have the most philosophical conversations, just laying on your backs beneath his room's skylight? heavenly.

• eren can get a little poetic expressing himself & i believe that it's just wonderful. no one can describe their feelings as good as eren.

• his favorite look of yours is when your eyes beam with excitement, it usually happens when you spot something that you used to enjoy as a kid or when you're concentrating on one of your hobbies.

• he's a very touchy person too, his hands are usually on your stomach/waist, his kisses are random & they linger for awhile.

• when you're asleep next to him, it's his habit to solemnly watch you while his own drowsiness starts to take over.

• eren is passionate & sometimes people might take it the wrong way. one of the reasons eren loves you is because of the way you understand how he is. mutual growth for y'all ♡.

jean kirschtein

• jean is not afraid to pull a live performance for you, you see this man is at the top of the world when he's with you. from 80s hits to recent releases this man will blast his playlists catered for you.

• dates with jean are certainly spent on concerts, (him & eren bond over chase atlantic don't argue with me) music festivals, thrifting & late night drives!!!

• personally, i don't see jean as very gimmicky unless you guys are with his friends, he takes you very seriously and you are his top priority.

• at school i think he's definitely one of those flirtatious boyfriends. the kind who would not miss an opportunity to blow you a kiss or throw you a wink. he can be a bit of a dork, who wouldn't be? if he can get one of your rare smiles 🥺

• jean's the type to ask his pals for help when it comes to styling. not because he dresses badly but he's too focused on getting a flush on your cheeks. he's a hopeless romantic.

• if you guys happen to stay at home, he'll definitely serenade you with the amount of songs he had written recently just for you.

• since he bonds with sasha and connie, his jokes are either dad jokes or something that went viral on tiktok. he's the perfect balance of goofy and mature.

• if you aren't much of an active person he wouldn't mind being lazy with you and insist on a diy spa day at home.

• it's just netflix with a tub of ice cream and face masks on.

• since jean is quite the romantic, he would be into couple outfits or items that aren't cringey obv and probably doesn't mind using your perfume or vice-versa.

• jean probably asked you out during one of his gigs, offering you a single rose afterwards.

• he's the type to leave you random post-it notes if he visits your house. just random phrases or doodles. and boy does he pick you up every single day on his smexy motorcycle.

• he'll bring you coffee and breakfast to-go. this man's spoiling you baby.

• aside from that, i feel like jean would make you hand-made gifts with the help of his momma. he thinks it's sentimental when you make your presents because it's one of a kind.

• jean does all these things because he's 100% about you being a constant person in his life. he loves how he can be whoever he wants when he's around you, i'm certain you guys wouldn't have it any other way either.

porco galliard

• porco can be a dick if he wants to not to you though, this tough guy turns into putty just for you. he definitely loves being treated like a baby.

• at first he might come off as cold because he isn't used to the whole romance thing and he gets flustered with the slightest pecks so you might have to initiate at first.

• but once you guys get through the awkward phase this boy would straight up greet you with a passionate kiss and does not give a damn about everybody who witnessed it. he might even have a stupid smirk on his face.

• like eren, i feel like porco would be very passionate and intense. he doesn't say much but he definitely shows you just how much he adores you.

• speaking of friends (: reiner would tease him every second of the day. i bet he would team up with bertholdt to annoy this poor boy. annie and pieck's not much help either.

•whenever you're stressed, porco would run you a bath and give you massages very often. he'll sit on the edge of the tub while he runs his hand through your hair.

•his type of dates would be watching at a cinema or a drive-in, going to the mall just to look around,he's a simple guy.

•if you guys happen to have an argument, porco would distance himself for a few minutes to a few hours just to process the situation and avoid anything his aggression might cause.

•he knew that if he wanted you guys to work he needed to be better.

•he would come back though and hold you in his arms while you guys talk it out.

•i bet he's one of the aot characters who would be an athlete, so most days you'll end up watching him practice.

•overtime, porco would be more open to being intimate in public and post stories of you two just doing things most couples do.

•he's proud that you're his and he's all yours.

•porco is a great guy and he would do anything just to make you smile.
