Hi bonjour !
I've read Ephemeron for the...fourth time I think ? I did see your post from last year, and I'm not here to make you feel guilty. I want to say thank you. I actually started reading Starker fics after Tony's death, weirdly enough. Not as a way to keep holding to something but because this duo brings so much to the table. I have never read anyone's writing describe that better than yours. I always feel redundant with compliments, but it's there, and I had to leave a message, something. I don't know if you ever published the outline, I'd be curious but I have to say the melancholy that comes with unfinished great fics is a drug. Especially with a Starker fic. It's a cursed ship, happy endings wouldn't make sense for me and any other ending would break my heart anyway xD. You've put something special in this bleak world of ours, it inspires and compels me to do the same. Hope you're well, and take care.
Bisous 💚
Salut Anon! Thank you so much for sharing this message. Even if compliments feel redundant, it's never meaningless to hear that someone connected with your work, so I'm very grateful! Fanfiction is so unique and wonderful precisely because it's all for free and for fun; unfortunately that means some works get left unfinished, but it's rewarding to know even an unfinished piece can have an impact (I also count some abandoned WIPs on Ao3 as among my favorite fics I've ever read!). So thank you, reader. This is why I write: to share stories and emotions with other people. I'm really very glad you've enjoyed Ephemeron :)

hello hello!! I hope you are well and okay dear author! just wanted to ask if we will ever see the end of ephemeron? many ppl have suggested it to me like crazy and I want to read it too but I'll legit cry if it has stopped at a critical point in a wip. or do you have any plans for it? I'm sorry of this is annoying! it's 7am and I haven't slept yet and I'm just here yeah! thank you and I hope you have a good day!
Sorry for the delayed response, anon! Ephemeron will probably remain unfinished, I'm afraid. I've toyed with the idea of a continuation, but my energies are taken up elsewhere these days--other fandoms and original work--so it's unlikely to happen. I'm not sure if the stopping point is what you'd consider "critical." I never did quite get to the first time/affair I had planned, so the 'finally getting together' part is endlessly deferred. But as other readers have pointed out, the ending of the last chapter I posted is somewhat open to interpretation and you are of course free to imagine whatever developments you like from there. I'm sorry I can't give you a more hopeful answer! If you do read the story, I hope you are able to enjoy it even in its unfinished state.

hi! i've been on a rea nostalgic bent lately and went looking for old germancest fics. i remember you from back then and saw that you were still active, so i thought you could help. i'm trying to find a wedding fic. 1/2
fic anon, 2/2. the fic is from gil's pov as he prepares for his and ludwig's wedding. hungary - it's a human AU, but i forgot how the fic spelt her name - is best-man for gilbert. gilbert has something he needs to tell ludwig and gets nervous about ludwig not accepting him after knowing. hungary gives him a pep talk, gil tells ludwig whatever it was as the vows are exchanged, and the ceremony goes well. i know asking is a long shot, but if you do remember, let me know? thank you <3
Sorry anon, I don't know any fic by this description. Good luck!

Chapters: 1/? Fandom: Supernatural Rating: Not Rated Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply Relationships: Dean Winchester & Sam Winchester Characters: Sam Winchester, Dean Winchester, Bobby Singer, Jo Harvelle, Ellen Harvelle, Ash (Supernatural), Mary Winchester, John Winchester, Rufus Turner, Original Characters, Dean Winchester Jr. (Supernatural: Carry On) Additional Tags: Coda, Heaven, Post-Episode: s15e20 Carry On, Post-Canon, Fluff, Light Angst, waxing philosophical about the afterlife, Sharing a Bed, Immortality, gencest, Queerplatonic Relationships, Platonic Soulmates, Gen Work, POV Sam Winchester
Summary:
It doesn’t take Sam long to realize that Heaven doesn’t give you everything you want, but it does give you exactly what you need.
Sam and Dean in Heaven. They road trip. They go to the beach. They build a cabin. They grow a garden. They share a bed. They even slow dance. They think about their lives, their afterlives, what it all means, and what they mean to each other.
I decided what the heck, I’ll post my coda fic in installments. Otherwise who knows how many months it would take for me to get it posted? I don’t have the best track record with WIPs, I admit, but I will try my best with this one.

I don't know if any of my followers here are still interested in my Germancest fics, or Das Rote Dreieck or A Farm Tale in particular, but I wanted to share that I have added (additional) author's notes to those fics on AO3. They summarize where the stories were intended to go. I've also orphaned them, so you won't find them on my page, but they are still on the archive.

Sam welcomes the physical labor, happy to exercise his youthful muscles. He’s happier still to see Dean use his hands to make something rather than take it apart. To create rather than kill. He’s good at it, lining up mitered corners and beveling edges with sure, steady motions. Sam wishes he’d gotten to see his brother like this more often, before.
The leaves of the deciduous trees in the lower foothills have turned auburn, scarlet, and canary yellow by the time they’re finishing up the siding. Sam shrugs off his over shirt, warm from exertion despite the nip in the air. He wipes sweat from his brow with the flannel—an old favorite, ripped to shreds long ago by a werewolf, but which he’d found intact along with some other clothes in his old duffel in the trunk.
Dean is humming Metallica and hammering nails in time with the tune. He’s in his element, buzzing with energy and warmth, late autumn sun highlighting the broad planes of his shoulders. Sam is overcome.
He breathes deep, steps up behind his brother, and slips his arms around him. Dean stills, not alert or alarmed, but pliant. He lets Sam pull him into his chest and bury his nose in his shoulder. After a moment, Dean slips the hammer into a loop on his tool belt and rests his arms over Sam’s, finding his hands and lacing their fingers together.
Sam takes in a lungful of Dean and sighs. There’s so much he wants to say in that moment. What comes out is a mumbled, “You smell the same.” Steel and gun oil, smoke and pine. Dollar store shampoo, the simple cleanliness of unscented soap and detergent.
Dean’s chuckle reverberates in Sam’s chest. He rubs the back of his hand with his thumb. “What’s this mood about?”
“Not a mood.” Sam’s mouth is crushed into the fabric of Dean’s shirt, but he’s confident Dean can decipher his words.
Dean just grunts in assent, and relaxes further into the embrace. It feels like a long time before he says, “You smell the same, too.”
Sam smiles against his shoulder. “Yeah?”
“Yeah. Almond-y. Like that fancy shampoo you always used to hide from me.”
It’s Sam’s turn to chuckle. “You mean that you used to steal from me.”
Dean makes a noncommittal noise.
“Hey, Sammy?”
“Yeah?”
“Will you share your fancy shampoo with me in Heaven?”
Sam’s smile is so wide his cheeks ache. “Yeah, Dean.”

Sometimes they drive in contented silence for hours. Sometimes they lapse into conversation, picking up a thread they dropped who-knows-how-long back, as if they’d never stopped. Sometimes they reminisce. Sometimes Sam just looks at Dean, and sometimes he catches Dean looking. Sam has a developing theory that in Heaven, Dean can’t drive off the road.
Sometimes Sam forgets he’s dead. It’s not that he thinks he’s still alive, but there are moments, fleeting and far between, when he feels so intensely present that everything else falls away. Once, they round a bend and emerge in a valley painted gold with evening light. The stone faces of the surrounding mountains glint orange and copper, and sunbeams filter down from the clouds like showers of glitter. Never in all of Sam’s years driving across the continental U.S. has he seen something more beautiful. For a moment, he forgets where he is. He forgets that he’s in a moving vehicle, that he’s looking through a pane of glass. He might even forget his own name. He feels, oddly, that he is part of the landscape.

Current WIP: a Supernatural Gen coda (platonic soulmates Sam and Dean in heaven)
The road ends at a beach. It’s not a tropical shore, not like the Mexico vacation he always imagined taking with Dean, nor like the trips to the Keys he’d taken with Jr. In fact, it’s a little overcast, the sea restless and gray. The wind makes gooseflesh rise on his arms, but Sam doesn’t mind. He still feels warm inside, even if his skin is cold.
The shoreline stretches to the horizon in either direction. They pick one and begin walking, leaving their boots by the car. The sand is cold and soft as silk underfoot.
“So, this is the beach,” says Dean, contemplating a gnarled piece of sun-bleached driftwood at the water’s edge. “I always imagined more margaritas. Babes in bikinis.” He doesn’t sound disappointed, though. Sam watches him take it all in, breathe the salt fresh air.
He doesn’t know how far they’ve walked when Dean speaks again.
“It’s good, man. You getting to be a dad. A Dean Jr. out there in the world.” Dean’s mouth curls up at that, pleased, and Sam feels a rush of gratification. How many times did he wish he could tell his brother all about the son who shared his name? And now Dean knows. Sam can tell him everything.
“A Winchester,” Dean continues, “not being jerked around by God or demons or any of that crap. Living free.”
Sam nods, takes a lungful of cool sea air. “Yeah.” He’s thought the same thing, stunned sometimes by the magnitude of that victory. The impossibility of it. The end of the Winchester curse.

Hi there, so recently ive been in major book depression over this fanfic by LilienPasse called The Fall of Adam and I noticed you talking about them in your past posts and tried finding their ff.net account but it appears to be deleted? I hope I’m not prying too much or anything but I love their writing style and wanted to know where they went. Thanks:))
Hi Anon, I totally know the feeling! Fall of Adam /wrecked/ me. Lilienpasse is so talented. I don't know what happened to her, though, as we haven't been in touch in a long time. Thankfully, some of her fics are still available on AO3! I'm glad she didn't delete them all. They are gems.

Hi. I just discovered Ephemeron (its Chinese translation, actually). It's so beautifully written and it breaks my heart and it has EVERYTHING I love about Starker. Then I did some digging and found out that you probably won't finish it. I seem to do that a lot, stumble upon a masterpiece and forget to check its status before reading then find out it won't be finished. (tears.
Anyway, I still want to thank you for all your effort and time you put in this fic. Thank you so, so much. I just want to let you know that there still are new readers who appreciate this story.
Thank you so much for sending this kind message! I'm sorry it's taken me so long to respond, but I really do appreciate it. It's especially nice to hear that people still love the fic as is, even if I lost the passion and couldn't complete it for all my loyal readers. I'm so glad you got enjoyment from reading what I wrote. At some point I do hope to post some sort of conclusion-summary of what I had planned originally, so stay tuned.

Hello, dear prince_of_elsinore! I hope you are healthy and safe with all of the crazyness lately! I keep getting questions about the remaining plot of the Ephemeton. Readers are absolutely adore your story and really want to know at least the final of this perfect starker slowburn. So I want to redirect their hoopla and ask you: When do you plan to reveal the final plot of the Ephemeton to readers?
Hello, and my apologies for the late response! Things have been a little stressful, as they have been for everyone, but I am safe and fortunate to be doing okay. Hope you are too.
I'm so glad Russian readers have been able to enjoy the story through your translation! Sorry, though, if you've been getting pestered about things you have no control over :/ So, to answer your question, my semester is ending soon and I would really like to tie this fic up over my break. So, if I'm able to follow through on that plan, within the next month is likely!
Thank you for your patience, and of course, for all you hard work translating my story. It's a great honor.

Every year, Sam manages to forget how much El Sol tastes like the cheap beer it is. His face screws up in a moue of distaste for a second and he sets the bottle back down on the bartop.
He hardly ever drinks anymore, at any rate. A glass of wine at holiday dinners, a craft beer or two that he nurses to be polite when he’s at some neighbor’s Superbowl party. He went on more than his fair share of benders after… well, after. Bottle after bottle trying to drown the memory of a funeral pyre, coming up with a dozen different deals and plans, discarding them all because he promised.
Hard liquor turns his stomach now, sends him spiraling back to when the days and nights would blur with grief. They still do sometimes—especially on days like today—but each passing year anesthetizes the wound a bit more with the promise of new grey hairs or fine lines.

Wow I read one of your fics (Die Träumer) and then I went down a rabbit hole like "omg this is the person who wrote Obsession???" and then I ended up reading some others like "Something Like Gravity". Basically I just wanted to say you're one of my favorite ~Germancest~ authors! Thank you for writing beautiful and amazing fics 😍.
Aww thank you so much! I'm happy to hear that people still enjoy my old fic after all these years. Those German brothers will always have a special place in my heart <3 Thank you for your kind message, anon!

Last chapter finally (FINALLY) posted! Another fic for the "complete" column.
“Their parents’ impending divorce forces Ludwig to spend Christmas alone with his brother Gilbert, who has moved from Brooklyn to rural New England to keep chickens and write. Ludwig doesn’t understand his brother’s choices and feels they’ve drifted apart; but maybe they have more in common than he thought.”
The continuation of my Secret Santa fic is now on AO3 and FF. One more chapter to come!

Thank you so much for posting your revisions of Obsession/Submission! I have been following it for years, and even though I'm upset that it won't be completed, I understand that things change and life happens. I'm just glad you decided to leave the story up. I think your writing is incredible. Now I'm off to reread the series again!
Thank you for still caring, anon! It's really rewarding just to know that folks still care about a story I wrote so long ago and that it's stuck with them. I am hoping to post some sort of epilogue/wrap-up after I finish the edits. Nothing like the continuation I originally planned, but something to give whatever readers are still out there a little closure. And to give myself closure on it, too, tbh. I thought long and hard about what I wanted the future of the story to be and its existence online, and messages like this confirm I made the right choice. So thank you <3
