physical intimacy
holding hands under the table
touching your lover's thigh under the table
hiding behind a wall, pulling your lover into a kiss as they walk by
''you need to stop doing that.'' ''do what?'' ''that little eye thing you do when i walk into the room.''
leaving notes in obscure places for your lover to find
pinned against the wall in the elevator
we kissed last night but we have to pretend like nothing happened
your hand is touching mine and i can't stop myself from taking it
making eye-contact with your lover from across the room, gesturing at them to follow you outside
tracing a finger across your lover’s scar
leaning in for a kiss but pulling away last second
whispering ''i love you'' in-between kisses
smiling in-between kisses
intertwining fingers
comparing hand sizes
straddling your lover’s thighs
tying your lover’s tie
falling asleep in your lover's arms
very obviously checking each other out while undressing, trying to deny it even though it's obvious
tending to your lover's wound
kissing your lover's forehead or knuckles
scooting closer to your lover in bed
good morning/good night texts
looking into your lover's eyes, then *gaze drops to lips*

Setting Prompts
// pianowritesstuff on Instagram
You can use these to practice descriptions and imagery, or even start a whole new story with these prompts!
A cabin in the middle of nowhere. The scent of rain and dirt mixed together wafts through the air. Tiny droplets fall off the leaves above you, landing right on your shoulder.
An abandoned shipwreck. You swim towards it, both intrigued and slightly terrified. The jagged wood creates an entrance for you to use.
A coffee shop in the neighbourhood. Soft jazz plays in the background as the bitterness of your drink hits. Its aroma is warm and fragrant.
A distant planet, where you are reduced to nothing but the size of a tiny beetle. You run to take cover under a giant leaf, as the footsteps of a gigantic creature approach, making thunderous noises against the ground.
A dark laboratory, full of vials and glasses containing mysterious liquids. You gulp, slowly tipping the end of a test tube into a bright purple solution in a different flask. If this works, years of your hard labour will pay off.
The city streets at night. Soft rain thumps against a bright pink umbrella in your hands. Neon signs illuminate shady-looking buildings, while the crescent moon shines brightly from above.
By the seaside. It’s a warm evening, the purple glows of the sun illuminate the sandy shore, an indicator of the approaching sunset. A vortex arises from the water, and a mystical creature emerges out of it.
The busyness of an airport. People running into each other’s arms, embracing, sobbing, laughing. You’re standing here, impatiently tapping your fingers against the metal bar in front of you while waiting for someone’s arrival.
The vastness of a desert. Sand dunes shifting with hot winds. After voyaging for days on end, the glimpse of what seems to be a civilization is only minutes within your reach.
A small town where gossip flourishes. A missing friend. A suspicious new neighbour. Crime plagues the typically peaceful community.

Cottagecore Writing Prompts
You fall asleep while watching the clouds and wake up in a strange land of rolling hills, pretty flowers, and honeyed sunshine.
The offerings you leave behind for the forest spirits usually go untouched. One day, you notice their disappearance, and a note left behind for you.
“Why is there a gnome sitting at the dinner table?”
The creatures of the forest invite you to the fairy queen’s harvest ball.
You wake up in the morning and see a cup of tea awaiting you. There’s a single red tulip in the cup: a symbol of true love.
“You there—yes you giant! You stepped on my mushroom house!”
A fairy ring is a naturally-occurring ring of mushrooms. They are said to spots for fairy dancing. It is believed that mortals entering fairy rings are made to dance to the point of death. You decide to step into one, just to check whether this tale is true.
A journey with your forest friends to find the perfect kind of berries for your pie.
While walking in the woods, you hear the gentle melody of a flute and sounds of laughter in the background. You decide to follow the music.
“You shouldn’t be here, mortal. Now you can never leave!”
You always let your animals wander off in the morning, and they come back themselves in the evening. One day, you decide to follow them, just to see where they go everyday.

Meet-Cute Scenarios
We bond over our favorite band after I wear their merch to school.
The teacher randomly picked you to answer a question, and I know you weren’t paying attention so I whispered the answer to you.
“That was my cookie. How dare you eat my cookie?!”
You asked me to pass your basketball to you, and my unathletic ass slammed it onto your face.
We’re both at this party where we know nobody and are forced to hang out together at the corner of the room.
I thought you were my friend and accidentally ran up and hugged you/smacked your back.
I walked into this room and you’re sitting on the floor, crying.
I ask you to draw me, after I see you sketching all by yourself.
We both reach out for the last copy of our favorite author’s newest release at the same time.
I don’t know how this machine works and you’re standing behind me in line to use it.
You’re really short and can’t reach the top shelf so I decide to help you out.
Our dogs really seem to hate each other.
You thought nobody was in the room and broke out in an over-the-top dance number. But the truth is, I was here the entire time.
You’re sitting next to me on this plane and have to deal with my fear of flying.
“This play sucks.” “I wrote it.”
You keep blasting heavy metal music when I’m just trying to practice my instrument.

how to emotionally destroy your readers - a series of prompts
Tumblr media
these prompts heavily focus on helplessness, heartache+break, and nostalgia, and other such related emotions as in my opinion and based on what i've seen - that's what hits the hardest. even if you don't use any of these prompts keep that in mind :)
Tumblr media
a character who's already had their happy ending slowly and helplessly watch it all end with age, wilting away health, relationships, and them sadly smiling through it all and living off nostalgia
watching a dearly loved one get with someone else they love, them having a happy life - and the character, happy for them yet always alone watching them from a distance
An ex-corrupted/redeemed villain character being sucked in and trapped back into a cycle of corruption with no say (+bonus if they keep coming out of it but always being clawed back in, and slowly giving up as the cycle continues)
the last one, but the character is watching this happen to someone they (platonically or romantically, doesn't matter) love
natural decay. all I'm saying, go wild
separation from family (especially parents). You can see them but never interact with them.
an orphan watching their biological parents raise a child/sibling and live a happy life while sadly watching them from a distance, doing nothing (+bonus they're young and helpless and the parents don't know the character is there)
a sacrifice for another, but the other never knows it happened
a character watching themselves harm others but being unable to do anything about it
dying while just out of reach of a life goal
struggling for love and a happy ending but it isn't satisfying and it doesn't work so slowly they fall out
watching the wrong people falling in love with each other and when they realize it's too late and they cant change
drowning, being suffocated, etc. just watching a character struggle and fight for air, only to slowly lose life and the ability to fight back, helplessly floating away (+bonus if there's a character reaching forward for a friend/loved one but it being too late)

Could I have a random Writing Tip? Thxxxxx
-Azzie
Hey! Ty for the ask, here ya go:
Tumblr media
make characters skilled in the art of war_.
Just a suggestion to bring something new to the table and develop character and conflict around war and combat!
This point applies to both antagonists and protagonists, but I prefer giving this skill and knowledge to the opponent. As the name suggests, it’s not of much use if there isn’t any war or physical fighting involved in your story so this bit won't be useful to your writing so just skip ahead if you want, but fun to know anyway! (This part might develop not only the antagonist, but plot conflict)
I've read Sun Tzu’s “The Art of War” and will definitely recommend that read for an in-depth understanding of what I'm going to explain (I’m just gonna loosely summarise the first three chapters because I'm lazy). Having the villain display this knowledge shows how intelligent and dangerous they are, especially if you have the typical underdog newbie protagonist - this leaves a lasting effect on the reader and other characters.
(Please don’t sue me for teaching you how to successfully wage war, thanks. For legal reasons this is for writing purposes only)
(Read the book for more detail, there are loads of great points I’m not including to stay concise)
Tumblr media
Laying plans:
Thoroughly studying the art of war could be the difference between death or survival. Keep the following 7 points in mind when developing a war plan. Consider not only about your own side but the enemy as well:
Which of the two sovereigns (or just which of the two sides, this works for missions too) is imbued with the moral law? (moral law: trust with their people, so they follow them even when their life is at stake)
Which of the two generals has most ability? (Which side’s leader is more skilled)
With whom lie the advantages of heaven (Season, weather, time) and earth (terrain)?
On which side is discipline most rigorously enforced? (This advocates for more compliance and therefore a higher success rate)
Which army is stronger?
On which side are officers and men more highly trained?
In which army is there greater constancy both in reward and punishment?
With this in mind you can forecast both victory or defeat.
Remember: “All warfare is based on deception”
Trick the opponent
When able to attack, seem unable
When using your forces, seem inactive
When near, make the enemy think you are far
When far, make the enemy think you are near
Tumblr media
Waging war:
Do not be hastily stupid and waste resources, strength, and manpower on unplanned urgency-based choices, but lack of decisive speed will give your opponents the upper hand. The following failures can be caused by that:
Hunger
Thirst
Attachment to accumulated loot
Outrage at injustice
Human lives and money are at stake when waging war, and recklessness will cause more harm than good. Make use of all the resources you have. Don’t kill who can help, don’t burn what can be used. Victory cannot be achieved without preparation or organisation. Understand your troops and resources so you do not have to rely on second provisions. Keep track of your troops strengths and states of mind.
Tumblr media
Attack stratagems:
“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”
Predict victory when:
If the leader knows as much about the opposition’s troops as he knows about himself and his troops. This knowledge will allow the leader to know when to advance and when to retreat.
If the leader knows the correct use of both small and large forces.
If the leader knows how to forge ranks unified in purpose.
If the leader knows how to be patient when the opposition might struggle to be patient.
If the leader knows that his sovereignty should never interfere with the decisions he is making.
This quote also aligns with the 7 points to consider from before (1. Laying plans).
Mass destructive and prolonged warfare benefits no one, the goal should be to subdue and subsume the enemy. Try to attack the enemy’s strategy or plans or separate the enemy from its allies - attacking the army when there is no alternative. It’s better to catch something whole than destroy it.
The following tips should be kept in mind:
Surround the enemy if your forces significantly outnumber the enemy’s forces.
If you have five times more troops than your enemy, you should attack them. If you have two times more, then you should divide the enemy and fight them that way.
If your enemy outnumbers you, then you should hide. Plus, if they significantly outnumber you, then you should escape.
You need a general who can make his own decisions without people above them interfering.
Tumblr media
Basing a characters personality around aspects that benefit them in violence and combat not only serves as an easy base for you to model your characters, this also helps you shape how battle and fight scenes can be carried out in your story

“Do you want me to slow down for you?”
“If it makes you feel better, I’ll let you get a hit in.”
“This is stupid. Goodnight.”
“Don’t worry, I’m sure you’ll be good enough to beat me one day.”
“Come and get it.”
“That actually hurt. Wow.”
“Compared to my usual crowd, you’re nothing.”
“Get out of my way.”
“Move.”
“Having fun?”
“Aw, you’re not hurt already, are you?”
“I was just playing. Surely you can take more.”
“Oh my, is that blood? Just from that?”
RESPONDING:
“You have to get through me!”
“Shut up!”
“I can keep going.”
“This— this is nothing.”
“I’ll make you regret saying that!”
“Then let me make this a little more challenging!”
“Of course it hurts, dipshit.”
“You should be scared.”
“Stop— stop taunting me!”
“Fun? Fun? Don’t insult me.”
“I’ll show you better!”
“I can’t stand you.”
“Get out of my way!”
“Over my dead body!”
“I won’t let you get to them.”
“I’ll make sure you can’t hurt anybody else.”
“Over my grave, you bastard.”
“I’ll take you down if it’s the last thing I do.”
“If I can’t take you down, I will never forgive myself.”
“Try and move me, I dare you!”
“You’re gonna regret that!”
“You want to see what I can do?”
“You’re nothing.”
“Keep taunting me and see what happens.”
“I’ll give you one chance, walk away.”
“Fine, I guess we’re doing this.”
“Y’know, talking during fighting isn’t very professional!”
“Dammit, all right, here we go!”
SCENARIOS:
You have a stupid smirk on your face, and I’m just trying to be serious. Why are you like this? Can we fight already?
Why are you taunting me? Stop— stop dancing. We’re in the middle of a fight.
When the cops/superhero/my friend told me what you were doing, I wanted to stay in bed. And now that I’m here, I’m thinking that maybe I should have.
Is that bomb fake or real. I can never tell with you.
I’m bleeding from your knife/kicks/punches, but I’m not gonna stop fighting until you’re finally taken down.
Every time you taunt me, I see red, and you know this. I should be stronger, but I’m not.
I won’t let you hurt the people I love. Not while I’m still breathing.
You notice that I’m breathing heavy, and you just keep smirking. I— I can keep going. I can.
We used to be friends, what happened to us? Why do we always have to fight?
If you’d just put that gun/remote/knife, we could go home, y’know? We don’t have to keep fighting.
You’re not fighting like you used to, what happened?
This is pathetic and a waste of my time, you’re in my way.
You’ve gotten weaker, I can’t help but let a smirk cross my lips, this is almost… funny.
You stumble against the wall with half-lidded eyes. It’d be so easy to just stroll by you, but for some reason, I can’t help but keep taunting you.
You hate me. I hate you. Yet, taunting you is one of my favorite things to do.

"Please don't leave me!" "I'm just going to the toilette." "Can I come with you?"
"My arm is floppy. I'm like a puppet."
"Can you be my girlfriend?" "I already am." "Oh, lucky me!"
"Let’s go play baseball!" "Your shoulder is dislocated, maybe not right now."
"You look almost as pretty as this moon." "That's a street lamp." "And you're almost as pretty."
"Have you ever thought about penguins? I think we should think more about penguins."
"You have a stupid face and it's my favourite one to stare at."
"I will definitely remember this tomorrow! How could I ever forget?" *doesn't remember anything in the morning*
"Oh, I think we haven't met before." "We have been in a relationship for five years now."
"You should go, otherwise I'm doing something stupid. Like kissing you or falling asleep on the bathroom floor."
"Let's get you home." "Oh, mine or yours?" "Ours." "Oh, wow!"
"I'm totally, absolutely, not at all drunk at all. Like... at all."
"Why are you all laughing? That is not very nice. I haven't even told my joke yet."
"How many drinks did you have?" "Yes, yes I am."
"You are too beautiful for me." *starts crying*
"Why are you undressing?" "Because it's hot! And I'm hot!"
*starts singing a remix of all their favourite songs*
*then starts crying, because their own voice is too beautiful*
