OC Lorepost 1 - Molting

Molting is (unfortunately) a natural part of every Honeyhiver's childhood, where they shed old skin and new skin takes its place. It can last between a day and a week, and results in a sickly feeling paired with the skin paling and intense itching.

Super Mario Spikers - Artist's Notes Google Doc

Some may remember that when I initially started my tumblr account and posting my Spikers art, I wanted to go much farther in-depth with the art than I could on twitter, giving big in-depth artist's notes about my art, what inspired it, how I feel about it now, etc. This was fun to do, and one of the reasons I started a tumblr account in the first place, but over time I just kinda stopped doing it. I figured it would be much more efficient to put all of these big breakdowns into one google doc that everyone could see.

So I started slowly chipping away it it, and it was fun writing about my art! Buuuuuuuuuuuuuut I soon realized that doing Literally Everything At Once, especially when I'm still adding to Spikers semi-regularly, was just not feasible. So today I made a compromise: I made the doc of my artist's notes public for you all to read, and will be slowly adding to it game by game! Splitting it into chunks makes this feel way more manageable, and I'm honestly as excited to work on it as I am with the art itself.

Currently, the doc covers everything I've drawn from pre-NES: arcade Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr., Mario Bros., and Wrecking Crew. Not a whole lot, but I think this is a pretty good starting point. I'm gonna be updating it over time with each game in release order: so the next game is SMB1, the game after that is SMB2, etc.

Over the past few days I've been drawing my OCs in the artstyle of the Mario Mural by @thinginator. This was a really fun art experiment and I like how all of my girls came out. I took cues from the Super Show and movie designs I made for them too, so they fit in quite nicely!

Last night, I decided to write out long, extended biographies for my OCs! While I do have much simpler descriptions for them, I felt it was time to REALLY dig into these characters. I had a ton of fun writing all of this out, and I filled each one with some neat quirks and facts about them too.
