For as long as he could remember there had only been one drive inside Luke, and that was music. It’s the reason he skips school to write songs. It’s the reason he’d busk, even for empty streets. It’s the reason he works for his uncle Caleb, wiping down tables at the Orpheum while he dreams of the day he’ll be front and center under the spotlight instead of behind the concessions.

Luke felt as long as he had music, he never needed anything else. When he saw people his age hanging out on the beach, going to parties, dating; he never felt like he was missing out. That was until one foggy day in December, when Luke saw him.

His flustered rosy cheeks, slicked back hair and cool leather jacket. Luke is frozen, his heart palpitating. It had always been Luke and music, never feeling like he needed anyone else but when their gazes meet, Luke wonders if this boy could be someone who can understand him.

Luke’s confused, excited and maybe a little bit fixated. All he wants is to see him again. But Luke’s got to learn to be careful what he wishes for.

OR five times Luke tries to find the place he belongs in the world and the one time he figures, this must be the place.

“Duh. Like and adventure but better, ‘cause there’s an x in there it’s basically extreme,” Luke said and Reggie laughed a little harder than he’d ever admit, “c’mon, we’re on a hunt”. Hunts were yet another one of their rituals for whenever one of them needed to scape their minds for a while.

A hunt was about coming up with a very obscure thing, like a duck-shaped cup or a lamp decorated with snails, and trying to find it.

Reggie groaned with a smile on his face, “what’re we hunting, cap’n’?”.

“A café with yellow walls,” Luke answered promptly as if he’d thought about it beforehand.

Reggie, tired of the constant fighting in his house, escapes to the beach. Luke makes a suprise appearance. A hunt for a café with yellow walls starts and two dorks find each other in the way.

Or, my escapist dream in which peace can be found, with some dudes being bros being gays as a bonus.

He’s mumbling the same words over and over, and a deduction finally makes its way out of Alex’s hormone-addled brain.

“Uhhh,” Alex starts intelligently, and Luke rounds on him with that feral gleam in his eye.

Or: Luke is inspired at the worst of times, and he almost sends Reggie and Alex into cardiac arrest more than once. To complicate matters more, the two of them are also developing feelings for each other. Bobby pushes just enough to help out.
