It's my birthday! It's also roughly the two and a half year anniversary of me joining this Fandom, which feels like a milestone.

As of now, I've written 75 works for Julie and the Phantoms. 75! That's crazy. Sure, I'd say a lot of my strength lies in exploring small ideas, or in condensing a concept into something short, but... 75!

If you're reading this, I love you! There are so many amazing, talented people in this Fandom and to know you even tangentially is a blessing ❤️ I doubt I would've ever written so much if I wasn't surrounded by so many other passionate creatives.

Alas, that is not the case! (especially because this is a show about a band, and therefore music is involved in almost all the fics somehow)

@sanssssastark used Don’t Look Back in Anger by Oasis in her fic of the same name and now I can’t listen to Oasis without immediately thinking of Luke Patterson

I could go on and on 🙈 the majority of playlists saved in my Spotify are from juke/jatp fics and a large number of songs in my ‘Liked’ playlist are songs that I rotate the JatP characters to on a daily basis, but this answer has already gotten too long! Perhaps I will share more another day!

@pink-flame or ICanSpellConfusionWithAK on Ao3 is this Friday’s Featured Fic author. We Found Wonderland is basically required reading for every jatp fan but she has so many other wonderful stories too!

Today I’m recommending Watch Out For That Sugar Rush. It’s such a fun ride and much like so many older (2021) fics it hasn’t had any love since shortly after it was posted.

Sugar Rush, Julie's band with her best friends Flynn and Carrie just got what might be their big break. They're booked to open (ok, open for the opener before the opener) for one of their favorite bands at an outdoor music festival. Julie's pretty sure it's going to be a life changing day. Throw in an oddly determined guy named Luke and some very unfortunate weather and she just might be right...just not in the way she expected.
