Some context: So part of being a part of the batfam comes with hiding emotions or masking reactions and feelings. (Cause like, you don't want someone like Joker to know you're scared or anxious).

what if the bat boys (Dick, Jason, and Tim) got hit with a spell or power on a mission that gave them animal ears and a tail. (You can decide the animals, no matter what a animals ears and tail are the biggest things that you look at to tell how the animal is feeling. Because of their movement not being a forced one, but happens naturally like breathing).

So, how would the batboys (separately) react to notice that their tails and ears aggressively give away that they have romantic feelings towards Male Reader?

Ex: Dick having German shepherd ears and tail, and every time Dick sees Reader. His tail is wagging and his ears are perked.

I feel like this would be so much chaos for them, to suddenly have something attached to them that gives away what their feeling. Cause they haven't trained to mask it yet.

Alright lemme know how I did with this kay? I think that-

Jason would have come home from a mission after being hit with a spell that gave him fox attributes. While Bruce asked Zatanna about a counter-spell Jason was stuck with the short end of the stick. It really only changed his physical form so it shouldn't be too damaging. When it comes to you I think Jason would be the type to try and ignore the fact that his feelings are so on display. When he hears your voice his ears perk up suddenly and his wagging tail swishes through the air, but he's gonna keep that same stoic look on his face. His arms are crossed and his eyebrows are furrowed and it just completely contradicts the way his tail is wagging so fast. If you comment on it he'll immediately shut you down by asking what the hell you're talking about. You tease him about it and it definitely annoys him that this is the way you recognize his feelings for you. Dick did not expect to be coming home from his previous mission with dog ears and tail but hey, life just be like that sometimes. He doesn't know what he expected to come from this spell but it definitely wasn't this. It was sort of difficult when you'd walked into the room and he'd gotten visibly excited even though he was trying to play it cool with a smirk on his face, his dumb ass tail wouldn't stop wagging. When you comment on it he gets super embarrassed especially when you hit him with the "happy to see me?" Yup he's done, he's hiding from you until Bruce can find some sort of counter-spell or something because he can't stand the thought of rejection from you. You find it cute though. Tim would seem pretty unfazed but deep down he's so embarrassed about the whole thing. He gets hit with one little spell and suddenly he has a cat's tail and even the ears to match. At least he's not meowing though. The whole thing becomes even more embarrassing when you show up and suddenly his tail won't stop swishing, though it's more from the nerves than anything. He's blushing a lot and when you comment on it and just sort of brushes it off but the whole thing really clicks for you after this entire event. He was always sort of stuttery around you but with the way his tail seemed to impulsively react to your presence pretty much confirmed your suspicions.

Barbara Gordon-is Oracle, she was shot and paralyzed from the waist down by joker. She is in a wheelchair. Was Batgirl for a little while in earlier parts of her super career (white, never Specified heritage)

Cassandra Cain- Orphan, she is pacific islander (from memory of the comics). Around 15-16 (little older than Damian, but still around the same age).

Stephanie Brown- Batgirl was Robin for a small bit. I mean, like 3 week issues, then scraped to be Batgirl instead, then become Spolier. Fun fact: she is ClueMaster's daughter.

The Robin's!

Dick Grayson- was a part of his family's act. As a trappies artist (arcobat), in a traveling circus. Both his parents and him are Romani. His parents were murdered, and he was adopted by Bruce Wayne. Became Robin to help bring his parents to justice, to heal apart of his anger. Robin was a nickname his mother gave him. Left at the age of 18 to move to Blüdhaven. Where he found gotham villains were moving there from gotham to stay away from batman. Then he became Nightwing.

Jason Todd- Grew up in the Ghetto of gotham (some say crime ally, but it is never actually Specified that that was where he grew up). He is hispanic. At age 9-10, he tried to steal the wheels off of the batmobile, and batman made him Robin. He was actually one of the sweetest Robin's, alot of people mistake his Robin years for Dick's (the most feral)and Tim's (feral but w/ some colour). His mom sold him out to Joker, cause she didn't want to get a drug charge. Joker tortured and killed Jason, he was thrown in the pit by talia al Ghoul. Then become Redhood and the crime lord of gotham. To control the crime cause he believed you can't get rid of crime.

Tim Drake- is the Wayne manors neighbour's, the Drakes being the 2nd riches family in gotham. He and his family is Russian American. His parents leave him for months on need to go trips around the world. While, Tim stayed at home where he gained the love of hacking and solving cold case flies. He discovered Dick Grayson's identify, then the rest of the family's. Seeing Batman spiraling after Jason's death, he tried to get Nightwing to be Robin again. Nightwing refused because he's still unpacking truama and he can't pick that mantle back up. So Tim became Robin, on his own, later being found by batman. Works with him, cause he feels he needs to keep an eye on the child. They bound. Only finding out Robin is Tim Drake, when the Drakes are murdered. Tim is offered to stay in the manor, he changes to Red Robin later.

Duke Thomas- was literally just beating people up on the street with no cotsume (like Barbara and Steffany was). However, it was normally just out of self-defense. He got powers (photokinetic is nature, but never really given a name) he can control light, but not really clear if it was at birth or later on. But his parents actually got hit with a shit ton of joker venom and are in containment, with Wanye Personnel trying to cure them back to normal. He visits them every now and then. Batman offered to take Duke under his wing, however it was only for training. Then became the Signal, chosen to protect gotham during the day. He still visits and works with the batfamily, however he is a member of the re-formed Outsiders team led by black lighting. He is black, but they never went into to much detail on Heritage. Within interviews, it was said it was done Intentionally to have his story have him discovering that was it progressed. However was cucked by DC Comics. Cause, Duke wasn't as popular as the others. And would be better if they didn't make his Heritage more Specific so more could connect to him.

Damian al Ghoul-wayne- Bruce Wayne and Talia al ghoul are his parents. But I'm not gonna sugar coat this, he's a rape baby. Talia spiked Bruce's drink and slept with him, so she could have power within Wayne assets. Talia raised Damian until he was 10-13, then threw him to Bruce's doorstep. Where Bruce basically had to fight tooth and nail, to uncondition Damian from his mother's beliefs. This why you see him acting as a "spoiled brat" early in his meeting of the rest of the family. But did get better while bounding with his oldest brother Dick. He is part Asian, with middle eastern and Chinese heritage on his mother's side.

Also Bruce actually has like 10 kids he has adopted legally or under his wing.

The boys:

Dick Grayson - first Robin, was in a circus (I think he was an acrobat), orphan. Now Nightwing.

Jason Todd - also an orphan, killed by Joker and resurrected via the Lazarus Pit. He has issues - like a lot of them. Now Red Hood.

Tim Drake - only Robin who grew up wealthy, also runs a different superhero team (Teen Titans? Justice Youth League?) Now Red Robin.

Duke Thomas - I have no clue. All I have for this guy is a name and the fact that he’s the only Robin who isn’t a dark-haired, blue-eyed white boy.

Damian Wayne - Bruce’s biological son, but he might also be a genetic experiment? I’m not sure. He was raised by the League of Assassins. Talks like someone who has only ever read books written a hundred years ago. Still Robin.

The girls:

(As I understand it, none of them were ever Robins)

(I’ll be honest my knowledge of the girls is as sketchy as my knowledge of Duke Thomas. Yes, I am very embarrassed by this.)

Barbara - I think she was Batgirl? Might also be Commissioner Gordon’s daughter.

Steffany - part of the superhero team with Tim.

Cassandra - Oracle? I’m mostly guessing based off the name. One of the girls was injured and is now in a wheelchair; it might be her.

I love the "came back wrong" trope but from the opposite side.

Imagine you are dead. And then you are RIPPED from the embrace of decay into the world of the living again. Your memories are hazy and you don't recognize any of these people, but they act like they're close to you? Like they love you? So you try to get your memories back, to act like you belong here, but everybody tries to forget you died. And you can't. It is omnipresent. And just trying to grapple with that fact pushes the people who "love" you away, and they're incapable of understanding, and they're so confused, what's wrong N̶̄̀O̶͛͗T̷̉́ ̷͋͝Y̴̎̌Ȍ̴̈U̸̓R NÄM̴̃͑E̵̾̇? And you just need them to understand, you aren't that person! You aren't! You don't know who that person is!
