Sorry for the long absence….the past few months have killed any creativity I had. It has been painful to witness the occupying entity’s ongoing colonization, occupation and destruction of Gaza. I heard of an initiative to draw fictional characters supporting Palestine and the only one I could think of was Gojo, who is the beloved character of Noury, a Palestinian JJK artist who is currently in Gaza. Noury lost her eye as a result of an Israeli tank firing on her and other refugees while she was sheltering in a school. She is set to get eye surgery in a few days. Besides a love of JJK, Noury and I share very similar names and interests. It could have easily been me in her place; it could have been any of us. I think of Noury and all of our other Palestinian siblings every day, and I dream for a free Palestine where she can draw Gojo as she pleases.

Gazans, on top of everything else, are having to use scraps of tents as menstrual pads due to the severe shortage of menstrual products in Gaza. This charity is helping them get what they need.

and most underrated characters award goes to…

i love cinna and by extension portia. i think they represent a lot of really important things, chief of which is the power of art to move and inspire people. i also loved his relationship with katniss :( while i really love lenny kravitz’s portrayal of cinna i always envisioned him as much younger when reading the books 😅 a sort of recently graduated design student type. where portia is concerned, i took a lot of inspiration from the movie actually!
