🚃An Extremely annotated A Streetcar Named Desire🚃 🚃 Streetcar is actually one of the books I'm studying for my A Levels and today I've spent the day looking at Femininity and The Mexican Woman. 🚃 I've basically planned out my whole summer of revision so that's fun! 🚃 I do recommend reading Streetcar and doing analysis on any books in general. I genuinely find that when I do analysis on books, I slowly end up liking them more and more. 🚃 I also recommend watching the film for Streetcar with Marlon Brandoand Vivian Leigh. Before the pandemic I would buy most of my books from charity shops but now I shop on second hand online shops.

I do find that because I shop second hand, the books aren’t always in the most pristine condition with chipped sides and bad underlining but I do kind of like the used vibe since I do enjoy highlighting and annotating my books.

What can I say other than I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS BOOK!

I seriously love every single character; no one is boring or useless - even the nurses have a level of depth to them!

🌹

I love Mia and I love how music is her passion and I love that she plays the cello because I think it needs more hype.

🌹

I love Mia’s family and their love of music! And I love her mum - you don’t even understand how much I love her mum. The woman is the punk rock, cool mum everyone wants and needs in their life.

🌹

I love Mia and Kim. I love Mia and Adam. I love Kim and Adam’s plan to get into the ICU just so they could see Mia!

🌹

🎆 just can’t seem to be able to sleep tonight despite having school tomorrow…whoops 🎆

so tomorrow i’m back at school but obviously not back to normal school. i actually only have to go in like once a week so i’ll be going in tomorrow (which is technically today because i’m still awake) and then next week i’ll ve going in on the wednesday again.

although i am quite excited to see my friends for the first time in about 3 months, there’s also a part of me that’s a tad bit unbothered to turn up to a lesson-that’s-not-actually-going-to-be-a-lesson because funnily enough, i have been getting on well with the at home study.

obviously not to the point where i would prefer to homeschool forever! that would definitely be a nightmare! but more like i don’t really see the point if we’re not exactly going to be taught anything. more so, they’re just going to answer a few questions and tell us what’s up for exams in september which i think is something they could have easily done over email or microsoft teams.

however, i guess it is how it is????

I bought a couple of these penguin classics books from Waterstones, when I was doing some online book shopping, and I came across this book by Leo Tolstoy. 💕

One of my topics for A Level History is the Russian Revolution and Leo Tolstoy is one of the names that keeps popping up so this book instantly caught my eye. 💕

So I decided to give Tolstoy a try to see how good of a writer he is and I am glad to say that I’m impressed. 💕

In this penguin classics book there are two short stories which centre around the idea of greed and they are just so wholesome and makes you just feel all warm and bubbly on the inside. 💕

Particularly the second short story, What A Man Needs, which just put me in a good mood to start off my day! 💕

If anyone’s read How Much Land Does A Man Need? or any other Tolstoy book do leave recommendations and comments down below because I’d love to read more by him if I have the time! 🤓 💕

What’s the first task you do when you wake up in the morning?

I’ve been trying to get into the habit of reading my book before I start my school work so that’s what I’m going to do right after posting this!

Right now I’m reading two books: The Rule of Law by Thomas Bingham and How Much Land Does A Man Need? by Leo Tolstoy.

💕

I’m reading The Rule of Law mostly for my personal statement because I want to be a lawyer and I do find it very interesting but sometimes I do need to have a rest from reading so much non-fiction.

💕

This is where Tolstoy’s short story comes in. I’m reading a short story because right now I just haven’t had the time to read long books and everytime I start to read long books, school work gets in the way (which is also why my reading goal is only 50 books).

Hopefully, when I finish my A Levels, I’ll have so much more time to read all the books that I’ve been collecting!
