Research Remarks #1

Hi, I'm starting to do this little post series as a way to sort of update on fanfics, maybe even get help for research, but overall, just talk because I am sitting in a room, needing to talk to somebody.

So, for today, I am researching psychopathic romanticism for an Edward Nygma/The Riddler oneshot that was requested. Odd thing though, I am starting to research French foods for this oneshot too because we all know that he's actually a pretty good cook. Although I must say that I am not a medical professional, please don't take the psychopathic romanticism details seriously; I'm just writing for fun. I think today I will also research something for my fanfiction on Wattpad, I haven't updated it in a month, so I'm trying to get Chapter Three posted before May 25th. Other than that, nothing else to research.

Hello! My name is Mari Delia. I have been writing stories recreationally for four years now. I have recently started posting my stories since this year's March. I recently made this tumblr so that I have a place to post one-shots, headcanons, mini-series, and more. Now, my full series is over on Wattpad. Currently, I am making slow updates to that story since I am sick. We don’t exactly know what I am sick with, but it’s been going on for three years, which is why I am slow at writing. It’s why I started to post my writings, because there isn’t much I can do anymore. This at least gives me a sense of productivity through it all. In this post, I will go over the rules I have for requesting stories. I must say that I am very strict about these rules. I will also be going over which fandoms I write for. I will only accept requests for one-shots and headcanons.

My Rules

Rule #1: Understand that I have my own private life. I have a family to care for, a job to do, and, as previously stated, I am sick as well. I need to care for myself too, which is why I am slow at writing stories.

 Rule #2: I will not write about real people. As lovely as I think Pedro Pascal and Tom Hiddleston are, I don’t want to be writing about them. They’re real people with real lives, and some of those people aren’t comfortable with fanfiction being written about them. I feel like I would be speculating about their lives, invading their privacy, and we don’t always know if they’re comfortable with that. A character is one thing; a real person is another.

 Rule #3: I don’t really feel comfortable writing smut one-shots. Well, it’s not that I'm personally uncomfortable with it; I just don’t like writing smut one-shots. If I do post one, it was on my own account.

 Rule #4: I am more than fine with writing any pairing, although I will not write a trans character as my main character. I myself am not a transgender person, so I will not be able to truly understand their struggles. I do not want to offend anybody with that, but a lot of the stories I have written have had transgender characters in them; they're just not main characters. I don’t want to portray their struggles incorrectly or write falsely about those absolutely lovely people.

 Rule #5: You can use my ask box to send in requests because I’m pretty sure that it’s open. Make sure to specify which character from the list I have, what idea you have, and whatever else you think I should know about it. Whether it’s a ship or a reader insert

 Rule #6: I am open to trying basically any character pairing as long as it does not involve incest, minor, or adult relationships and follows my rules.

 Rule #7: I refuse to write scenes about the topics of rape, suicide, eating disorders, self-harm, heart attacks, strokes, or CPR. I am willing to write about these topics.

About Me

Hello! My name is Mari, and I like writing as a hobby, so lately, since I’ve been sick, I've started writing fanfiction. I’ll be writing a lot of them now too, specifically on this account. I currently have one called "Rose Petals and Guitar Picks." It’s a Full House fanfiction where Jesse Katsopolis falls in love with Joey Gladstone’s half sister. I recently published the second chapter on Wattpad on April 13, 2023. I’ve been kind of proud of it lately; I'm finally writing a lot more than I used to. I’m writing as much as I did when I was a kid, for my own pleasure too. It’s even motivated me to write an original novel that will not be seeing the light of day anytime soon. I will copyright and publish it one day, just not yet. I will have a lot of copyrighting to go through before I publish it because I will never appreciate somebody stealing my work. Who ever does? Now, I do want to share some things about me with you, but I am still a private person.

Well, first of all, I’m from the United States of America. I was born and raised here, but I have aspirations to travel a lot and probably emigrate to a different country like Sweden or Italy. I’m actually fluent in Swedish too; I like learning languages as a hobby. I work in the music industry currently, or am trying to; I manage a few of my friends bands. You won’t be seeing any mention of them here to respect my own privacy. Anyway, I am currently a student too. My updates with writing will be a little slow. After all, I am currently sick. We aren’t sure yet, but hopefully we'll figure it out soon enough. I would be writing a lot more if I wasn’t sick, but even then, my life really revolves around work, school, and looking after my family. I’ve missed a lot of school lately because of whatever the hell is going on with me but to spark some joy, I write in my free time; I try my best to write well. I think that I’m a pretty okay writer, it’s definitely getting better. The main reasons why I love writing fanfiction is because there are so many small details in shows like Doctor Who, they have an entire franchise, I’ve loved everything about Doctor Who since I was a little girl. There are so many small things that I just want to expand on in some sort of way or maybe just write some fun love stories. Plus, I have noticed an incredibly small amount of Torchwood Fanfiction, I’ll probably end up writing something for that show. I really enjoy how thy delve into the darker aspects of studying aliens and having a life where aliens are actively a part of your daily life. They still have the same obscurity that Doctor Who has too, we learn more about Captain Jack Harkness, and the list goes on. Doctor Who is one of my favorite shows. All of the characters are so interest, I enjoy  Anyway, I believe that’s all I feel comfortable sharing so far. That’s all that's really coming to mind too.

I will be posting something soon that will announce that I am open for requests. I try not to write about real people; there are very few that I’ll probably write about. Anyway, there will be a list of fandoms and guidelines for requesting a one-shot. I don’t accept requests for miniseries yet. I believe that is all now. Have a good day, fellow humans.

So I’m re-watching all of the Doctor Who episodes currently. I finally reached the Christmas Special called “The Return of Doctor Mysterio” and I may have choked on my drink when I realized that JimmySteve from Shameless was in this episode. Did I overreact a little bit, probably but this is just really funny to me now.
