OSAMU MIYA
Osamu Miya as a father:
At the birth of his first daughter:
Osamu Miya was normally a rather aloof character, a composed person, someone who didn't really show that much emotion except the odd snarky comment. And, he may even look like that now, composed, well that's only on the outside. However, on the inside, he is completely freaking out. He couldn't keep his emotions under control no matter how much he tried to control them. He just tried to keep his breathing steady.
He was waiting until he had the okay to go back in and see his wife and his new baby. Both he and his wife had decided to let the gender of their child be a surprise for when they were born. 'Are you Osamu Miya? You can come in.' Then as soon as he walked in, his whole act dropped. His aloof, composed demeanour had disappeared completely.
There was his gorgeous wife, holding a child, his child. A girl, Osamu's own daughter. He couldn't help the tears that welled up in his eyes, he was really trying not to cry, but how could he not. His perfect daughter was right in front of him.
He reached out tenderly and softly touched his daughters face. He'd never in his whole life seen anything prettier than his own daughter, his child. Well except the mother of said child. They're both number one in Osamu's eyes.
In all honestly, Osamu was near melting for how cute she was. It was taking everything in him to force all his tears back every time he was around his daughter, but because of how much he cherishes her.
Osamu when his children are in school.
At this point in time, Osamu now has three children, his eldest daughter and a set of twins, how fitting! His eldest daughter was now 15, and the twins, both boys, (again very fitting for Osamu!) who were both 12, starting their days in middle school.
Now, Osamu is definitely an overprotective dad, like an almost borderline helicopter parent, especially with his daughter. Despite her being the oldest, the fact she's his only daughter really makes him worry about her in every way possible. He always has to know who her friends are, especially boys, who her teachers are, who the headmaster (principal) of the school is, is the school any good? Osamu must know all these things to make sure his daughter gets the best education.
With his sons, Osamu encouraged them to join a sport or some sort of extra-curricular activity. Osamu wouldn't force either to join if they really didn't want to do it. He also wouldn't force them to get into volleyball specifically, however, both of his sons totally join volleyball because they are practically a carbon copy of the original Miya twins.
Osamu's pretty smart and he did rather well in high school, grades wise, so he's always having to help his sons with their homework, but he doesn't mind, he loves spending father-son time with the twins.
General Osamu Miya as a dad hcs:
Osamu makes fresh bento boxes for all three of the kids every day, even until the last day of their third year in high school, the bento boxes would always consist of, fresh homemade Onigiri, which was mostly used as prototypes for his restaurant, cute hand-cut fruits, like grapes and strawberries, maybe some expensive watermelon too! He'd include the iconic octodogs, or octopus-shaped hotdog sausages and little toothpicks in them, with the kids favourite characters on. (These bento boxes were embarrassing for the boys especially in middle school but by the time they got to high school they were so appreciative of them.) He would even include the notes in them saying cheesy things like, 'You're the sun to my day, the moon to my night, enjoy the day sweetheart', especially in his daughter's lunch.
Osamu has a bunch of nicknames for his kids, and some of them the kids love, however, others, not so much. The nicknames include things like, Princess, Cutie, Baby Onigiri and such for his daughter, with nicknames like Little Princes and Baby Twins for the boys, however, he also refers to them collectively as, Mini Miya's or the Miya Trio.
Osamu makes dinner for the kids and his wife every day, he sometimes makes an array of traditional Japanese dishes, aside from sushi, he also breaches into international cuisine as well, mainly Chinese or Eastern European.
Osamu's love language is food, so whenever one of the kids are sad he makes them their favourite food, maybe some dessert, maybe the kids just want some cookies, well Osamu's gonna make the best cookies they've ever had. Honestly, Osamu really does spoil the kids with all the sweet treats he makes them.
Overall, Osamu is an incredibly loving father, he really cares about his children. He loves them immensely and he wouldn't trade them for the world. He may not be perfect, and a bit overprotective at times, but he is a good dad.
SHINSUKE KITA
Shinsuke Kita as a father:
At the birth of his son:
Shinsuke Kita was as composed as he could be. To be honest, Kita would barely ever lose his composer. The only notable time where Kita had cried was when he was named Captain of Inarizaki's Volleyball team. Oh, and his wedding day, but can he be blamed for that? He was as composed as he could be, he was an absolute mess. His wife had gone into labour, and he was freaking out.
Both he and his wife were in the ambulance, on the way to the closest hospital. He was honestly going crazy from how worried, excited he was, completely overwhelmed by his emotions.
Once Shinsuke and his wife had reached the hospital all was well and good. They already knew the gender of their son. But seeing him in the world, in front of his own eyes was a complete shock.
He instantly burst into tears as soon as his son was born. He was so overwhelmed and relieved that just the sight of his son made Shinsuke, the composed, never crying man, wail just like his son was at the present moment. But could anyone blame Shinsuke? It was his own son, Shinsuke Kita's very own son. His child. He was instantly in love with his son the moment he joined the world.
Father and son time together:
Shinsuke Kita never had another child, his son was enough for him. But that wasn't saying he would never have another child. Both he and his wife were content with the one child, and to be honest, Shinsuke wouldn't have it any other way.
Shinsuke works as a rice farmer, (as most of us know), and he totally gets his son to help him. They both have days in the field, farming, enjoying time together, messing around, and having fun!
Shinsuke plays volleyball on the weekends with his son too, they both go down to the local park, and sometimes they meet up with Osamu and his children, and they go and play some volleyball, whether it practising receives, passing, sometimes serves, whatever his son feels up to, Kita will do!
Shinsuke is sort of a classic dad in a sense, his favourite activity with his son is to take him camping, and his son absolutely loves it. Both of the boys love being at one with nature and they both love the idea of being out in the wilderness. They go camping together in all sorts of weather and locations, whether it be in the Kita families own rice fields or in cold regions of the northernmost prefecture of Hokkaido.
Not only would Shinsuke take his son camping he also would take his son hiking up the mountains of Japan, including, but not exclusive to Mount Fuji. Shinsuke Kita's favourite holiday destination. They'd all, as a family go there annually to see the sights and to stay on the mountain. And Shinsuke couldn't ask for anything better.
General Shinsuke Kita Dad Hcs:
Because of the fact, that Shinsuke is a rice farmer you'd expect him to be a somewhat decent cook. But that is not the case at all, and in fact, Shinsuke is such a bad cook that he burns the house down anytime he tries to make anything more ambitious than some rice, which was, of course, made with a rice cooker.
Shinsuke is also extremely logical thinking, and as a result, a blunt character, however, he is the complete opposite with his son. In all honesty, his son is kind of sensitive, so Kita had to adapt to being less blunt towards him and sugar-coat things a little bit as to not make his son burst into tears anytime Shinsuke tried to tell him literally anything.
Even though Shinsuke may still be a little bit blunt at times with his son, he knows exactly how to cheer him up, he knows all of his sons favourite sweets or chocolates, his favourite shows and animes, his favourite mangas or music, Kita is attentive, as attentive as anyone could ever be, therefore he knows almost every little detail of his son, no matter how insignificant it may seem.
Shinsuke Kita also knows how to make his son feel better when he's sick, Shinsuke has extremely logical thinking, and he always has, therefore he knows when to get his son medicine and what type is best for each occasion. Shinsuke has all sorts of passed-down family remedies to make his son feel better right away!
Kita also makes sure that his son knows how to be helpful and please other people well, he teaches his son how to clean and that even if no one is watching that good karma will reach him. He teaches him all the things his Grandma once taught him that he never believed, but still did anyway.
In conclusion, Shinsuke Kita may not be the best with words, or the best at making sure his poor sensitive son doesn't cry whenever he's just slightly too blunt with him, he is still an incredible father who cherishes and looks after his son better than anyone ever before in his life. Kita practically worships his son and despite the obvious differences in personality between him and his son he still loves him immensely and wouldn't change him for the world.
ATSUMU MIYA
Atsumu Miya as a father:
The mother of Atsumu's two children is out of the picture, she simply told Atsumu that she never wanted children and up and left one day. 'I'm sorry Atsumu, I never wanted this life, it was all a mistake, take the kids, I don't want them.' It honestly broke Atsumu's heart, broke it into pieces that he thought was beyond repair. However, as he raised his children, he realised that even though that woman had broken him, she had also gifted him the best thing in life.
Because of the fact that Atsumu is such a busy man, with his profession as a professional volleyball player, especially in the earlier years of his daughters' lives, the girls get passed along, to other people who Atsumu knows. Most of the time, Osamu volunteers to look after them, however Bokuto, Hinata and even Sakusa are all willing to look after the two girls, mainly for field trips or theme park visits in Bokuto and Hinata's case.
Atsumu learnt in time how to manage the fact he was a single father as well as the fact he had an athletic career to maintain. He made sure to practise during the girls' school hours, and he'd bring them to watch his games and practises if he had to. Despite how busy Atsumu maybe, he would never be an absent father, not after the girls' mother had left them without a second thought.
Atsumu and the girls' adventures!
Atsumu travels around Japan, and the rest of the world too, a lot as a result of his volleyball career. So obviously, as the girls get over they get invested in their dad's work. 'Dad~ why won't you let us come with you to Tokyo? I want to go shopping there please let us come!' Because the girls are so similar to Atsumu, he knows that they'd never stop whining until he finally caved and let them come with him to Tokyo, so he did.
He took the girls around Tokyo, the first time they went, they were only young, the eldest being 12 and the youngest being 10. He took them around the city, with their main objective being to spend all of their dad's money! And that they did, most of it in the Harajuku area.
Atsumu also took the girls to other countries, if they had a game against different nations, which they did every once in a while, they'd frequently go to countries where Volleyball was popular, like Russia and Germany, sometimes even to Argentina or Brazil, let's just say, the girls are very well-travelled and definitely love the perks of having a rich and an athlete as a dad.
The girls loved going to different countries, and so did Atsumu, although he mainly loved it because he saw the absolute joy on his daughters' faces when they arrived in someplace new.
General Dad Atsumu Miya HCs:
Atsumu is what you could define as a cool dad, he would be the one to have the massive chaotic, only seen in movies, types of parties, where there are people playing games, sometimes drinking, lots of food, mainly pizza, and always loads of laughs.
Atsumu has mini jerseys of his own jersey for his daughters to wear! He loves the fact that he can have Baby Miya's wearing his jersey, just in their size of course! It fills him with pride when they wear it willingly too!
Atsumu has loads of nicknames for his two girls, mainly things like, Princesses, My lovelies, My girls, Mini Me's, Mini Miya's, he calls them all sorts of cute nicknames, which they pretend they hate, but the girls love them in reality.
Atsumu cannot cook for the absolute life of him, obviously, Osamu stole all of those skills from him for himself! No matter how much he tries to even cook something simple like toast, it always goes insanely wrong. He once almost burnt the house down boiling water. Water, I am not kidding, do not trust Atsumu anywhere close to a kitchen, preferably at least 5 metres!
Atsumu spoils his girls if you couldn't tell from the whole travel aspect of their lives, but it goes beyond just trips or frequent holidays. He also treats his girls' to shopping trips, their favourite k-pop albums upon release, sometimes multiple of the same one to increase the chance of pulling the photocard they want. Atsumu literally buys the girls whatever they want.
Therefore, to conclude, Atsumu Miya is an amazing father. He may be single, and there may not be a mother in the girls' lives, but that's not his fault, and Atsumu more than makes up for it with how much he treats his girls and how much he looks after them no matter what. Atsumu makes sure the girls are always happy and he always makes sure that if something is wrong he knows about it straight away so he can fix it or at least provide help or support in any way he can.
KIYOOMI SAKUSA
Kiyoomi Sakusa as a father:
Sakusa was never in a relationship, he had never really understood, or felt the appeal of being with someone forever, being close to them at all times, barely fighting, always getting along. Kiyoomi couldn't fathom the fact people could handle the pressure of being someone else's support through and through. However, despite that, Kiyoomi did understand the appeal of children. He did understand how you could raise someone, how you could look after a mini version of yourself, whether they looked like you or not, how someone could cherish and care for a child. Whether there was a blood connection between you and the tiny human or not. And that was where Kiyoomi found himself at the present moment.
Sakusa wanted to adopt a child. He had heard about orphanage horror stories, and he wanted nothing more to prevent that, and even if it could only be for one child, Sakusa was determined for that to happen, and that's why he had come to adopt a child today.
Sakusa didn't really mind, he supposed he'd rather an older child, maybe someone between the ages of around 7-11, someone old enough to be able to understand well, but someone young enough that he could still be a positive influence and a support beam in their lives. He didn't mind the gender either, or how many children he would adopt, well he sort of minded that one, he said he'd limit himself to two, and that would only be if they were a pair of siblings.
And then Sakusa laid eyes on two small children, looking to be around the ages 6 and 8, an older girl and a younger boy. The girl was standing in front of the boy in a protective manner. Like she was shielding him from anything and everything negative in the world. That moment Sakusa knew, those two children, if they wanted it as well, of course, would be coming home with him as soon as possible.
Then, Sakusa caught the boy's eye. He darted from behind his sister and ran towards Sakusa, staring at him with puppy dog eyes, full of love, and it honestly caught Sakusa off guard, however, he couldn't be more, relieved, happy, overwhelmed with positive emotions.
That was the moment Sakusa knew that those two were his new children, and he wouldn't have it any other way.
The development between Sakusa and the kids:
By no means no one is perfect, everyone makes mistakes and learns along the way, however, Kiyoomi is definitely as close to a perfect dad you could ever get. He may have no prior experience of looking after kids, but he does know how to look after himself extremely well, and that's definitely an advantage for him.
It took a while for the kids to warm up to Sakusa, which was expected obviously. But Sakusa made sure to actively make them comfortable, never forcing them to separate, letting them have their space, but also making sure to cuddle them if they wanted it.
Sakusa would make their favourites meals, which he would have to coak out of the youngest's mouth. He wanted to make sure that the kids knew how much he loved and appreciated them.
His son was the first to call him Dad, they'd just been calling him Kiyoomi-San since he'd adopted them, not that Kiyoomi minded. He wanted them to feel as comfortable as he could. But when it happened, it totally caught him off guard, 'Dad I can't tie my shoes please can you help me.' Sakusa couldn't be happier, but he didn't want to startle the child's presumable slip-up so he just continues on and helps the boy with his shoelaces.
It took a little longer for his daughter to warm up to Kiyoomi completely. She was warier of him, but again, Sakusa was happy to wait a lifetime as long as his children were comfortable with him. One day, a year and a half after Sakusa adopted the two children, his daughter came up to him. 'Uhm, Kiyoomi, would it be okay if I called you Dad?' She asked him, and Sakusa's heart almost exploded from the question. 'Of course, you can sweetheart, you can call me whatever you feel comfortable with.'
General Sakusa Dad HCs:
Sakusa cleans to release his stresses, and he also teaches the kids how to clean properly too. He makes sure they know what the best methods are for keeping a house clean, but also how to clean quickly and efficiently as not to waste time.
The kids learnt about Kiyoomi's volleyball career when they were around 10 and 12, and they wanted to play volleyball just like their dad did. So they tore up the house looking for a volleyball. Let's just say, a window was broken, lessons were learned, and there was a new fancy volleyball court in their back garden.
He also makes such cute lunches for the children, they may not be as good as Osamu's craftsmanship, but they certainly are full of love, he always includes snacks in the bento boxes and he also cuts up fruit to make sure the children have balanced and healthy diets.
Overall, Sakusa is an incredible dad, he may never get a partner to bring the children up with, but why do they need one? Sakusa does everything he can for his children, he will always look after them no matter what. His children are his priority and he wouldn't have it any other way.
