Correspondences of: Carrier & Essential Oils

This is a long post, the correspondences are under the cut.

Carrier Oils: Carrier oils, known also as base oils, are used to dilute essential oils before they are applied topically. They serve as the base for oil blends. 

Essential Oils: Essential oils are concentrated liquids that contain the volatile (”the tendency of a substance to vaporize") aromatic compounds of plants. They are obtained via distillation and the oil alone should never be applied to the skin directly as some a reactive to heat, and light, and some will give you chemical burns. You are likely to have a reaction to essential oils.

ALMOND OIL, SWEET (Prunus Dulcis) Ruled by Mercury and the Element of Air. Sweet Almond Oil makes a great carrier oil for blends that deal with prosperity, money and wisdom.

APRICOT KERNEL OIL (Prunus Armeniaca) Ruled by Venus and the Element of Water. This makes a great carrier oil for blends that deal with love or emotions.

AVOCADO OIL (Persea Americana) Ruled by Venus and the Element of Water. This makes a great carrier oil for blends that deal with love, lust or beauty.

CASTOR OIL (Ricinus communis) Ruled by Mars and the Element of Fire. Castor oil makes a great carrier oil for blends that deal with protection and absorbing negativity.

COCONUT OIL (Cocos Nucifera) Ruled by the Moon and the Element of Water. Fractionated Coconut Oil makes a great carrier oil for blends that deal with purification and protection.

Ostara Dreaming

"Use this blend before bed to dream of love - especially the night before the spring equinox.

3 drops Roman chamomile essential oil (Chamaemelum nobile) (preferred) or Cape chamomile essential oil (Eriocephalus punctulatus) for luck, sleep, love

1 drop jasmine absolute (Jasminum officinale) for love, prophetic dreams

5 drops lavender essential oil (Lavandula angustifolia) for love, peace, protection

1 drop Turkish rose absolute (Rose damascena) or rose geranium essential oil (Pelargonium graveolens) for love, dreams

Springtime is when minds drift toward love. Spring flings, first romances, and vow renewals all have their place in the spring dreaming. Mix all oils, and diffuse 1 drop synergy per 100 ml water.

For massage, mix 15 drops synergy per ounce of carrier oil (a good all-purpose oil is sweet almond) plus a drop or two of vitamin E to preserve the mix."

Edit: NOTE: Essential oils and absolutes can be expensive, and this book has shown to present a few costly recipes, so take them with a grain of salt. I personally use oil infusions rather than essential oils because of chemical sensitivity, and it tends not to be of high cost comparatively. I take all of these recipes as a suggestion of correspondence rather than something I absolutely must follow. It's better to get creative and use what you have on hand rather than spend a ton of money on some oils you'll only use once or twice.

• Clean the glass or acrylic panel: Use a glass cleaner and a lint-free cloth to clean the panel thoroughly. You want to remove any dirt or fingerprints to ensure a clear reflection.

• Paint the panel: Apply black paint to the panel with a brush, roller, or spray paint. Make sure to apply a few coats to get an even finish. You may want to paint the edges of the panel as well.

• Let it dry: Allow the panel to dry completely before reassembling the frame.

• Reassemble the frame: Once the panel is dry, place it back into the frame and secure it in place. You can add any decorative touches to the frame that you like.

• Bless the mirror: Before using the black mirror for divination, you may want to bless it or set an intention for its use.

Last Sunday, I posted a reel with some basics on scrying using an obsidian mirror. 🧿🌌 Because repetition is the mother of wisdom, here are some more in-depth tips to go with it: ⁠ ⁠ 1. The right lighting: Make sure the lighting in your scrying space is dim but not too dark. Candlelight 🕯️ or a dim lamp can provide the right level of illumination.⁠ ⁠ 2. Begin with a clear mind: Take a few deep breaths and try to clear your mind of any distractions or worries. This will help you focus.⁠ ⁠ 3. Placement of the mirror: Place the obsidian mirror in front of you at a comfortable distance. You can hold it up to your face or place it on a stand.⁠ ⁠ 4. Focus on the surface: Gaze into the surface of the mirror without focusing on any one point. I call this the soft gaze. you can also try to focus your gaze slightly behind the surface. Allow your eyes to relax and your mind to wander. Blink as needed.⁠ ⁠ 5. Observe any shapes or patterns: You may begin to see shapes or patterns in the mirror or in your mind 🧿, such as clouds, colors, or images. Observe them without trying to interpret them.⁠ ⁠ 6. Practice regularly: Like any other skill, scrying takes practice. Try to make it a regular part of your practice. With practice, you may develop a stronger connection with the mirror and gain more insight from your scrying sessions. 🔮💫⁠ ⁠ 7. Papaver somniferum, along with most of the plants of #Saturn, were the #plantguides who ultimately inspired me, to create my own #oracledeck. Having a #dream, a #vision, of what you want is the key 🗝️ to #manifest it in the material reality. The poppy was my dream and the determination of Saturn is helping me solidify it.
