Positive self-talk is incredibly important to mental health and wellness. What you think manifests itself in physical representations within your life - I have only been working on actively trying to reach a better state of wellness for a few, short days but already I have noticed a difference in my energy levels, in the way that I carry myself, in the way that I let others speak to me. Heck, I even applied for a new job in a new field that I would of NEVER of done a week ago. So much can change for you, if you even think about making steps toward taking responsibility for the way that you feel.

Turmeric hot chocolate - did you know that turmeric has pain killing properties and can be used in the same way that drug store pain killers can be used? It is also a wonderful anti-inflammatory and works wonders not only when consumed but when mixed into a mask and applied to acne prone, swollen skin.

Don’t try to become a ‘somebody.’ Be happy with who you are, every inch of yourself, at this current moment. Don’t categorize yourself into being one thing over another, either; just be yourself. The desire to become a ‘somebody’ will never fade, which is why you must enjoy yourself the way you are.

We mock their innocence. We ignore their pain. We pretend we’re good while closing our eyes to a cruel reality. We are not innocent, there is no use in pretending.

It’s hard to be rational in an irrational world. It’s hard to be compassionate in a caustic culture. It’s hard to be aware in a society that’s asleep. And it’s hard to be caring when so many around you mock your efforts and the very victims you’re fighting for. Fight anyway.

You can do something about this. Choose to no longer participate in animal exploitation. Choose compassion. Choose vegan.

I honestly cannot recommend this book enough. This self-help, self-care book is about healing every aspect of yourself, including the energy body. It’s about more than just breathing exercises and distraction techniques, its about truly caring for yourself and claiming back your energy in a world where the energy body is dismissed. If you suffer from anxiety, depression, an eating disorder, body dis-morphia and well anything, even just frequent negative thought patterns - this book will genuinely change your life if you are willing to invest yourself in the process.

Before I went vegan, I was a vegetarian for a long while - I honestly believed that I was doing all I possibly could because I was misinformed. I wish that someone had told me sooner, so if you are reading this and you are vegetarian and do not know about the dairy industry - stay with me?
Did you know that a dairy cow’s life ends in slaughter much the same as a beef cow’s does?
A dairy cow is artificially inseminated time and time again, and because the milk would naturally be consumed by the calf - the calf is taken away at birth, dairy cow’s feel pain just as other sentient beings do and have strong maternal instincts - they have been known to scream for their babies for days.
A dairy cow is typically inseminated again within three months of giving birth, this creates a massive strain on the dairy cow’s body and leads to chronic illness and exhaustion.
Most male calves will be sold on to the beef industry but some will go to the veal industry.
Female calves will suffer the same fate as their mother’s before them.
I know that these facts are uncomfortable, devastating even, but this information is not pumped out to you like the happy cow’s on milk advertisements. I ask you, please if you are in a position to go vegan - don’t hesitate - stand up and be a voice for the voiceless!

This speaks volumes, it goes against human nature to detach ourselves so from our fellow sentient beings

Not the violence, not the hate, not the racism, not the sexism, not the homophobia, not the oppression, not the slaughter, not the cruelty, not the exploitation, not the speciesism, not the materialism, not the wastefulness.
Only peace, respect, and love for the planet and its inhabitants.
We are one. 🌍

Some guidance that I like to follow when choosing what I wish to put into my body is - how many ingredients does this have? If the answer is just a few derived from plant sources, it’s a safe bet that it is good for you :)
Obviously balance is key, but being aware of what goes into our food and what nutrients it provides us with is a great step toward developing a happy, healthy relationship between our mind and body and what we put in our mouths.

Plant baby drinking up dat H20 ;)
Having houseplants in the home is incredibly beneficial for several aspects of our health, it has even been proven in some studies that having plants in the home improves mental health by regulating oxygen and improving air quality. It makes sense if you think about it, considering that in this modern age we have removed ourselves from our roots in nature - how many of you have experienced spending time in nature and coming back from it feeling refreshed and happier than if you’d spent time in front of a screen?
