I wholeheartedly agree. My experience with healing is not the same for everyone, and for a lot of people that anger is important to contemplate, identify, and recognize in your own healing.
God can suck something because of him we are in this mess
let go of the anger. you'll feel so much better. best wishes to you 💕

being angry at god and not believing he exists aren't mutually exclusive. be angry if you need to be.

Christians hate when a gay man goes “fuck it, I’ll gladly go to Hell if you want me to so bad” because it takes the edge away from their tools of fear. If they can’t scare you with threats of eternal damnation then one of their main weapons is taken away.

I’d sooner welcome oblivion, that blissful nonexistence,
Than spend an eternity
With a god who loathes the human condition.

"Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?"

Imagine saying this and earnestly believing that it makes the “social justice” crowd look bad. Like, yeah, I do care more about the material conditions of subaltern groups than I do about abstract philosophical questions. Wow. Much pwned.

something that rly creeps me out…..occasionally ill see videos or articles for christians or christian missionaries that say something like “what you need to do is make friends with non christians and really get them to trust you and THEN you start preaching to them and bringing them to jesus” and that is….man how much would it hurt to know that the only reason someone’s hanging out with you is to convert you to a religion you were never interested in. maybe this is a real friend, someone you really really feel like you connect to, and all of a sudden you cant hang out with them without being scared they’ll bring out the jesus stuff.

this time of year can be hard for a lot of ex-religious people. no matter what any family members or loved ones say, remember, you can be silent. you don’t have to fight. not fighting is not giving up. you can choose to love them anyway. you can choose to set a good example, even for those who are religious. you are not like them, and that’s a good thing.

As someone who left the Christian community because they were queer this blog has been very cathartic for me
i’m so glad to hear this, and i’m in the same boat. always remember that you are not alone and never compromise who you are for supposed loved ones who don’t support you.

Christians talk about the "sanctity of marriage" when it comes to gay people getting married, but I know Christians who have had multiple divorces. These guys really aren't self-aware. smh
there are actually a lot of things christians are frequently hypocrites about. i've heard christians quote the bible to justify judgement about homosexuality, marriage/divorce, women's rights, sex work, etc., regarding political affairs when they actually have given no context to what they have quoted. what's worse is they use their OWN PERSONAL BELIEFS (despite the bill of rights of the very government they're trying to impend upon guaranteeing freedom of and from religion [in my country]) to justify banning these things for other people.
christians not only lack self-awareness, but they use verses from their holy book to justify taking things away from others. christians aren't just harmful to democracy. they are dangerous.

hi :) i just found your blog and it has really soothed me and my internalized christian guilt. what is your opinion on the difference between a religion and a cult? is it a difference in degree or in nature?
hi, so glad this has helped you.
in my opinion, most religions are cults. religious people blindly follow whoever is in charge (they claim it's god or jesus) and give up their finances, freedom, and individuality to be "good" and reap eternal rewards.
a religion is "the belief in and worship of a superhuman controlling power, especially a personal God or gods." a cult blindly follows something and/or leadership in the cult but is not necessarily religious.
have a lovely day!
