Hi!
Thank you for asking!
I just returned from Ukraine a couple days ago, and will go back there in a few weeks. Right now I am resting and taking care of paperwork, financial bookkeeping, etc.
I was thinking about this fic last night actually, and how I want and need to continue it. Therefore no, I haven't abandoned this fic, nor do I plan to :) I'll try to write when I have the time/energy/focus.
I'm sorry I haven't posted anything in over a month (?). Ever since the war broke out in Ukraine, I haven't been able to think of anything else, much less take pleasure in writing my beloved fic.
In no way am I giving up on it, but it's gonna take some time to update it. I apologize for the wait, my dear readers ♥️
I want to draw Lafayette hugging Washington like he will never let him go and smiling ear to ear with his eyes closed (if he was a cat he would be purring) and Washington would be surprised but hugging him back.
I wish I could draw. Instead I’ll just try to visualize it onto paper.
“While I am on the subject of [Benjamin Walker], I must relate an anecdote which happened while he was in the family of Genl Washington, and which is strongly descriptive of his honest heart. He had long been engaged to a Quaker young lady, who resided in the State of New York, and whom he afterwards married. He once asked the General to give him leave of absence for a few days, to go and see her. The General told him, that he could not at that time dispense with his services. Walker insisted, begged, entreated, but all in vain. “If I don’t go,” said he “she will die.” “Oh! no,” said Washington, “women do not die for such trifles.” “But, General, what shall I do?” “What you will do? why write to her to add another leaf to the /book of sufferings/.” This was related to me by Walker himself. Genl Washington had a great deal of that dry humour, which he knew how to make use of on proper occasions.”

Storytime! There was once a creative genius named @firlachiel who theorized that George Washington totally told bad dad jokes. The TURN fandom agreed with her, and all prospered. One day, these jokes found their way into Ian Kahn’s hands, and @ms1776 suggested that the General himself should read some of them. The result was every bit as magical as you might imagine.
The embassy secretary who is now with Mr. Jefferson is Col. Humphreys the general's former aide-de-camp with whom please flirt as much as possible.

Once more a letter where I wish we would have some more context :-)
