My apple pencil ran out of charge mid shading 😂 so here's a WIP of that wedding sketch I was working on! I still have quite a bit to add, including that hand fasting ribbon that I completely forgot to draw in the lineart, fuckin oopsie, but I'm very happy with it so far!! Started an origin Gale playthrough last night. Tara is the best reason to try it!! She is so delightfully sassy!!! I wish she would join your camp in custom playthroughs, at least if you're romancing Gale, after the pigeon situation lol.

Me, the first time I met Gale in my very first playthrough: Yeah, I guess this purple dork is pretty cute, but I kinda had my eyes on someone else already.

Me, barely an hour later, after hearing him talk more and finding out he's a cat person: I pick this one. There is simply no other option for me. Only the crazy cat wizard with the fancy words. I don't care how long I have to wait, I WILL kiss him!!

gale of waterdeep: romance guide

i’ve seen a lot of people mentioning that they couldn’t trigger gale’s romance either in the tags of my sets/art or in the general tags. i thought i would publish this short guide to help. 

in total, there are five steps you need to keep in mind. i’ve tested this with two of my own characters, as well as with friends in multiplayer, and it does reliably trigger.

Took a break from writing today to sketch this out. I've been wanting to flesh out Aislyn and Gale's wedding outfits for a while now.

I imagine that Gale would be very open to whatever kind of wedding or joining ceremony his partner desires. For Aislyn, that would mean returning to the Dales and having a natural union ceremony among her clan and village deep within the forest.

I may add a ribbon for hand fasting in the final peice. For now, I wanted to share the sketch. ^^

The rain makes such a peaceful sound on the balcony awning above where you and Tara are resting. You've come to love your new home in Waterdeep, and you new tressym friend. Curled up on your stomach as you lay across the bench, Tara sighs heavily, her ears pinned back in discontent.

“What's wrong, Tara?” You ask, scratching her behind the ear, “Have you had enough of the rain?”

“No, my dear,” she says, rising to her paws and stretching out her spine. “When Mr. Dekarios informed me you would be moving in with us, I had worried about having to share him with you… now I never see him because of his work.”

You frown, sharing her pain. Ever since Gale took his job at Blackstaff, he really hadn't been spending much time at home. When he did, he was lost in paperwork or sleeping. “I know,” you sigh, petting her gently, “I wish he wasn't so busy. I miss him too. Maybe almost as much as you do, Tara.” You offer the creature a soft smile and she nuzzles her head against your chin before padding off somewhere inside Gale's tower.

“I know, my love, soon,” Gale chuckles, brushing your dirty hair out of your face. After spending the last 48 hours thoroughly exploring an ancient crypt, both of you were elated to find a nice tavern in the nearby village.

“Sorry for the wait!” A little blue kobold sang as she hopped on top of the tavern's front counter. She hands a brass key to Gale, along with a piece of parchment, listing off the tavern's services. “Here is your room key! We have lots and lots to eat and drink! Make sure you try the chef's special!”

“Oh, I'm so hungry, I could eat a basilisk!” You say, turning to Gale and grabbing his hands in yours. “Honey, do you think you could get us something to eat? Maybe a bottle of wine for our room?”

“If the lady wishes to have tasty treatos brought to her dwelling, sir is more than welcome to place an order with the bartender!” The friendly kobold points towards a crowded dining room, where a long line of people stood waiting to speak with the bartender.

“Alright,” Gale sighs, wanting nothing more than to sit down, but he knows how tired and sore you are as well. “Go take our things up to the room and put your feet up, my love. It looks like there's a line, so I'll meet you in the room after I give them our order.” He hands you his pack and plants a tender kiss on your lips before watching your backside as you walk away.
