Daphne Dubois Profile

Daphne is 19 when Bruce takes her in

She wakes up in a coffin with no memory and has to dig herself out of her grave

Gordon finds her wandering the streets and when he reaches out to grab her his hand goes through her arm

So he calls bruce

And together they figure out that Daphne Dubois has been dead for 6 months

Daphne’s ‘father’ was actually Niles Caulder who experimented on her and gave her the ability to phase and create force fields

The last experiment he did had caused her death, which when when she came back gave her the ability to go between the physical and spiritual worlds

Daphne has the power to phase through objects, her body is in a constant state of flux

This contributes to her ability to phase through the different realms, often times spirits present themselves on the physical realm and she sees their ‘ghosts’

Daphne can solidify the different realms into solid matter creating force fields

She trains with Bruce and Dick to become ‘Ghost’

Sometimes, when she touches an object that has deep emotions connected to it she can see

daphne enjoys the color blue but over time green becomes her favorite

she likes to hide in the library since she can’t hear the whispers of the spirits calling out to her

Florence and Alfred teach Daphne how to bake as a way for her to cope

She’s an alright baker but she picks up gardening like it’s second nature, she tries to not think about how digging through the dirt reminds her of digging out of her grave

She likes to look at it as if she’s giving new life back into the earth

Daphne doesn’t like going out and fighting crime, although she’s really good at it, she’s a very passive person and doesn’t like the anxiety that fills her when she’s out in Gotham

Being in the city is horrible for her, she can hear all the screams and the cries of the people who die there every day.

If a spirit ever notices that Daphne can hear them they follow her around and harass her or plead for help depending on what kind of person they were

When Daphne moves into the manor she sees the spirit of 14 year old Jason Todd, he doesn’t know that she can see him straight away and she certainly doesn’t say anything

Eventually Jason realizes she can see and hear him when he continues to crack jokes after the others would speak and she’d try to hide her giggle or stifle her laughter.

Once he had realized she could see him he spent every moment he could trying to get her to laugh

He’d talk to her about anything and everything because he had nobody else to talk to, this ranged from his parents, to meeting Batman and the rest of the family

Daphne didn’t know how Jason died, as he didn’t seem to know either, and whenever she’d ask about it no one would tell her. So it seemed he had no recollection of the souring relationship between him and Batman

Daphne would have nightmares where she’d wake up gasping for air because she felt like she was still suffocating in her coffin, she’d claw at her chest and the sheets until she realized where she was

Often times when she got nightmares she’d go crawl into bed with Florence but the woman wasn’t always there and neither was Dick on most nights so Jason would appear to keep her company

Jason makes her swear that she won’t tell anyone that she can see him and that he hasn’t passed on yet, especially Florence as he was closer to her than Dick. He doesn’t want them to mourn him more than they have to.

Eventually Jason’s spirit disappears one day, and Daphne thinks that the boy finally passed on, she was happy for him but a part of her felt like it wasn’t over, like he wasn’t really gone.

When Daphne and Jason finally meet in real life and he’s 20 he doesn’t remember her, or at least seems not to.

So she simply pretends that she didn’t know everything about him and that she hadn’t told him all of her secrets

Daphne Dubois died six months ago.

Of course Jim Gordon didn’t know that when he found her wandering the streets in the middle of the night. A white dress clinging to her dazed figure, her pale skin covered in dirt and grime, her slender fingers maimed and covered in blood as her finger nails were badly damaged.

It was as if any word he had said had gone in one ear and out the other as she simply stared up at him with terrified eyes, and when he had went to help her to his car and his hand went through her that he mirrored her expression

So he called the only person who he thought could help, Batman.

It was when Daphne entered Wayne Manor and watched as a fading and rather opaque little boy slid down the stair banister that she realized she could see the dead.

His laughter echoed through the quite home and rattled her chest, and when nobody else reacted she had realized the repercussions of coming back to life.

So, pretty frequently writers screw up when they write about injuries. People are clonked over the head, pass out for hours, and wake up with just a headache… Eragon breaks his wrist and it’s just fine within days… Wounds heal with nary a scar, ever…

I’m aiming to fix that.

General note: Deeper=more serious. Elevate wounded limb so that gravity draws blood towards heart. Scalp wounds also bleed a lot but tend to be superficial. If it’s dirty, risk infection. If it hits the digestive system and you don’t die immediately, infection’ll probably kill you. Don’t forget the possibility of tetanus! If a wound is positioned such that movement would cause the wound to gape open (i.e. horizontally across the knee) it’s harder to keep it closed and may take longer for it to heal.

General notes: If it’s a compound fracture (bone poking through) good luck fixing it on your own. If the bone is in multiple pieces, surgery is necessary to fix it–probably can’t reduce (“set”) it from the outside. Older people heal more slowly. It’s possible for bones to “heal” crooked and cause long-term problems and joint pain. Consider damage to nearby nerves, muscle, and blood vessels.

Florence (20) and Jason (15) both walk downstairs at 2am high asf. 

warning: swearing, talk of smoking, 

this is nothing but funny sibling bullshit.

This is one of those scenes that you’d put on tiktok with the song ‘Notion’ playing behind it. 

Florence crept down the stairs at nearly 2am, she wasn’t sure where her family was but she felt as if every step she took echoed through the halls. When in reality she was as quiet as a mouse. 

It might have been late, but one thing was for certain... she was starved.

When the kitchen lights flickered on there was a small squeak sound as the fridge slammed shut and the boy that had been rummaging in it stood up straight. 

Florence and Jason stared at one another for a moment, they were both in pajamas, their hair askew and a mess. Jason noticed how Florence’s eyelids were droopy and he could barely see her eyes. Florence noticed that Jason’s eyes were ringed with red. 

 “Whatchya doin’ ma?” He finally questioned after he cleared his throat. 

“What are you doing baby bird?”

Jason scowled at the nickname, Dick had told him that it was Florence used to call him before he became the middle child. 

They each narrowed their eyes for a moment, each trying to decide if their secret would be kept. It was then that Florence remembered she was a grown up and let out a chuckle before rolling her eyes. 

“I’m ripped, is there anything in the fridge?” 

Florence walked around Jason who just stared at her for a moment, his mouth opening and closing a few times before he busted out into loud laughter. 

The blonde was on him in a second, and with her advanced strength she tackled the boy to the floor in an effort to cover his mouth. Jason stopped laughing as he let out a small groan. 

“Why are you laughing? You’re going to get us caught and Alfred will have my head if he sees me eating shredded cheese again!” Florence whisper shouted in the boy’s face. 

Jason’s eyes were brimming with tears as his face turned a beat red. Florence furrowed her eyebrows and stared down at him before she leaned closer and took a deep breath. 

“You little shit,” She whispered in realization, Florence waited a second before removing her hand and sitting back on her heels. “You’re high as a mother fucking kite aren’t you?”

“Duh, and I already ate all the shredded cheese,” Jason responded in a hushed tone as he sat up also. 

Florence groaned and turned to crack the fridge, her eyes scanning everything in it. So much chicken and broccoli, nothing that resembled junk food. The fluorescent light mocking her as she leaned her head against the door with a sigh. 

Jason chuckled and leaned against the cabinets, his clouded eyes watching as she scanned the shelves her frown deepening as the seconds passed by. 

“I’m going to cry. Do you think we could order takeout?” She asked as she closed the fridge door and turned to her brother with a hopeful look in her eye. 

Jason grimaced awkwardly and shook his head back and forth as he pointed to his wrist as if he was wearing a watch to remind her of the time. 

They sat in saddened silence for a moment, each of them trying to think of possible ways to fix their munchies. Florence gasped loudly disrupting the silence around them causing Jason to jump. 

“What is your damage?” Jason flinched as he scooted away from the blonde who was fishing around in the pocket of her hoodie, which was actually his hoodie, until she pulled out her phone. 

As soon as the screen turned on they both reeled back at the brightness of the screen, each of them slamming their heads into the cabinets behind them and letting out groans. 

“My eyes! Turn it off!” 

“Oh shit, I can’t fucking see.”

After Florence gathered her bearings she squinted her very sensitive eyes and lowered her brightness before calling her other brother. 

“What are you doing?” Jason Whisper shouted causing the woman to roll her eyes and push him away from her. 

“Hey Flo, what’s up?” Dick’s voice crinkled out through the other line of the phone making her grin.

“Ah, I’m so glad you answered. You see...Jason and I are having a little, situation,” She began as a sly grin worked its way onto Jason’s face. 

“Is everything okay?” There was worry behind his tone, it made Jason realize once again that Dick would drop anything to help his sister. 

“Yeah, just don’t laugh okay...Jay and I are blitzed right now, and we’re starving. And you know B, there’s no munchie materials here,” The young woman complained. Jason’s eyes widened in shock as he realized that Florence wasn’t going to lie to him. 

Dick paused, and for a second Florence had thought he hung up so she pulled the phone away to see if they were still connected. 

“Dickie, you there?” She questioned as she brought the phone back to her ear. 

“Yeah I uh-- heard you loud and clear,” He replied as he cleared his throat, that was when Florence noticed the dejected tone behind his voice. 

“We didn’t smoke together, we just both ended up in the kitchen. I would have invited you little bird,” She reassured instantly, a small smile tugging at her lips as she thought about the boy on the phone. 

“Oh, okay,” He chuckled awkwardly before continuing, “What are you guys craving?” 

This made her look at Jason who was watching with interest and give him a large grin. 

“You are a fucking saint, I love you!”
